Starlight: Hiya! We came up with another chapter! Yay!

CGP: No shit, Sherlock. I want to thank Forgotten Prince for reviewing and ACTUALLY READING THE GODDAMN AUTHOR'S NOTES! God people, why can't you read these things?! It's not that hard!

Starlight: Calm down, sis. We need reviews so please do review.

Mina: Review so they can be quiet. I have a head ache hearing them talk.

Ava: STFU, Mina and deal with it. I can be more annoying.

CGP: Listen to your sister, Mina! I can't help but rant about people not READING THESE GODDAMN THINGS!

Starlight: Well, let's get on with the story.

Mina: *glares at Ava and tackles her*

Ava: Get off of me you crazy bitch!

CGP: Someone has a sailor mouth.

Ava: You do too!

CGP: …shut the fuck up and go rot in hell.

Starlight: You both have sailor mouths! We do not own KHR!, only our OCs. Enjoy!

CGP: Too many goddamn exclamation marks! And why does it have to be an odd number!

Ava: Sorry if the last chapter was confusing. It was weally weally rushed.

Chapter 8: Giant Spider vs. the Vongola and Varia (Mina's POV)

Oi, Mina. Get out your Box Weapons. I'll show you how to use them.

Mika?

Yes, it's me. Now open the damn boxes. Your twin is doing that already thanks to Anna.

I looked to my side and saw white and red flames flying crazily out of her rings. The Storm flame was flickering out of control when it approached her red box.

Snatching one of my boxes, a pure black flame blazed from my ring when I thought of my resolve. Furrowing my eyebrows I ignored it and plunged it in the box with the chains.

A giant mass of black flames appeared before it dissipated into several chains with black flames at the ends. They swirled uncontrollably around me and I flinched slightly when they slowly closed in.

Don't fear it or else it'll strangle you.

Then what do I do?

Relax and calm your mind. These chains are somewhat like Belphagor's wire trick during the Sky Battle. So use hand gestures to control them.

Hand gestures?

Steadily I took a deep breath and relaxed like what Mika said. The giant spider robot thing was already attacking the Varia who almost instantly went to attack it and the Vongola was preparing. Ava had a crossbow on her arm which she was fawning over like those crazy fangirls (which caused many sweat drops and a face palm from me). But she snapped out of it and hit her other box with the white flame. Nothing happened. A thought struck her and she added the Storm flame. The box burst open in a swirling fire that landed right next to her. The flame was so big I almost expected it to be a drunken Box Animal but instead a pure white wolf with red markings became visible. Strangely, it looked like Amaterasu from Okami without any weapon on her back.

Snapping out of it, I closed my eyes and focused. With the chains I can cease the mechanical arachnid's movement. Looking back at the chains I swished my hand in the direction of the legs of the spider and the chains dove forward and wrapped around it.

The spider roared its fury and tugged at them but it fell down onto its stomach. The Okami-look-alike immediately pounced on it with her teeth bared while her owner fired thin needles at it. Our allies struck as well.

Now get the one with the arrowhead.

Doing what she said, I snatched the box and put my flame in the hole. The black fire swarmed over my spear on the ground. When it was finished, it seemed like nothing happened. I picked it up, curious and slightly perplexed.

Thanks to the flame, your spear can adapt to whatever fighting position you fight in. Now try your Vongola Box out.

Obeying once again I picked up the last box and hit it. The box rattled roughly before suddenly exploding. I jumped back, dropping the box near the pile of flames. The flames evaporated and what was left was a jet black fox, growling at me. Now I was perplexed. What the hell did I do to it?

It's the same with Natsu. You have to trust her.

How the hell do you know this?

…that's not your business. Now, be friendly to your Box Animal and fight that spider.

Grumbling in my head I held out my hand to the fox. The growling soon stopped but she was still in a defensive position and her eyes were focused on the hand as if I was going to hurt her. My eyes softened despite the battle near me and I whispered, "I won't hurt you, I promise."

Before long the fox's hackles flattened and she approached my hand, sniffing it. Then she nudged it until it was on her head and her tail wagged slowly. I smiled and rubbed it, standing up.

"Mina! Watch out!"

Something was moving towards me at high speed but the Box Animal snatched my hand and tugged me down. A chain flew above me at impossible speeds, crashing into the chair the life guards sat in. I winced when the stinging pain shot through my body from the chomp but I ignored it and sat up.

I grabbed my spear I had dropped and looked back at the robot. It was still struggling with my chains, but gradually they were popping off. I flicked my wrist to get the grip back on that would hopefully give us all some time. Everyone was doing fine but they were clearly getting tired from the heat and also the battle. This does not look good.

The fox growled to get my attention and pointed. The spider was steadily freeing itself from the chains and the chains flew in all different directions. I ducked under one that flew at me again while adjusting my spear. Like what Mika said, it adapted easily and I felt more comfortable.

Quickly find a weak point on the spider before it can get up. Sorry, I forgot to tell you that the chains aren't that strong.

It's fine but that would've been helpful. And where would a weak point be?

Just hurry up! That damn disease is affecting your brain!

What?!

Attack, damn it! I can't help you; I only give you hints so hurry the fuck up!

Why the hell was she snapping at me? Maybe the disease is affecting her since she's my conscious?

A sharp tug from my right jolted me to reality and I cursed, rolling to the side as another chain flew at me once again. So the chains only were to create a distraction so we could attack it for a while. I might as well join in since all I did was literally sit a while trying to bond with an animal.

With one glance at my Box Animal I ran at the colossal robot with speeds I didn't know I had and jumped high, switching my spear to put the arrowhead downward at the spider's neck. That was, until I heard a familiar shout.

"Wait, Mina! Okami, get her!"

Something snatched me again but this time the jaws were bigger and sharper teeth dug into my skin. I winced heavily and looked at whoever bit me. It was Ava's white Box Animal (that sounds racist…) that was apparently named Okami.

Ava rushed to me and scolded to her wolf, "Okami, not too hard of a bite! You should know that!"

She barked in reply, tail wagging and pawing the air playfully. When Ava crossed her arms, the wolf tackled her to the ground and covered her face in licks. Rolling my eyes I 'accidentally' kicked my twin's side and 'accidentally' stepped on her face as I stepped over her.

My fox (I have to name her. It's getting annoying say this) leaped over the two with a fierce growl in an attacking position. The spider soon was freeing itself and started standing but I charged at it with my spear at my side. I spun it around and used it like a javelin, propelling myself onto the spider's head. It roared, twisting its head to grab me but missed. I smirked and dove my spear down on the neck part of it.

All the circuits and wires in the spear's path were snapped apart in an instant before the head was fully dislodged. Sparks flew out and stung me like revenge but I dismissed it and sprung off. However, the spider could apparently move without its head. The leg swung and smacked me away from the colossal robot. I cough out blood from the abrupt hit and my back slammed into one of the life guard chairs, causing it to crash on the sand.

Ignoring the intense pain in my back and the arising throw up of blood in my throat I staggered to my feet, wiping the blood trickling down the corner of my mouth. This damn weakness is very annoying.

It's not the weakness from the disease. The spider's strong. It was made to work if you cut something on its body.

My eyebrows furrowed. So you could cut this thing to tiny little pieces it'll still be moving and attacking?

...uh, I wouldn't do that if I were you. Then it would attack by slipping into people's cuts or any access to their bodies like a germ and possess them.

What?! This thing can do that!?

Pay attention! Just focus on weakening it. Cutting everything off its body weakens it, but don't cut it to tiny pieces.

Got it.

A scream interupted my conversation. Alarmed my head shot in the direction of it and I gasped. Aki was struggling with circuits and cords that were wrapped around her waist tightly. She let out a short scream when it pulled her closer to the robot.

Ava's eye twitched and she fired needles from her Storm crossbow but the cords were thick and they bounced off. "Damn it…" she hissed, bringing out her whip. Poising, her feet was barely visible as she dashed toward Aki. However, before she could reach the girl, one spider leg whacked her aside like a ragdoll.

Rage bubbled in the pit of my stomach. First, you decide to attack randomly here at this calm and peaceful beach (the Varia, surprisingly didn't scare any visitors here… not that I know of though). Then you try and take an innocent child that had nothing apart in this. Now you whack my sister aside? Oh, shit is going down NOW.

Along with the rage my fox was growling like crazy and viciously attacking the legs of it. Summoning my chains back I jerked my wrist diagonally and a chain shot through the body of it. It shuttered but continued pulling Aki in. My flame was so large it was nearly consuming my whole body.

Hey, calm down! Don't let your flame engulf-

I cut off her connection unintentionally, hateful emotions and thoughts racing madly in my head. I could feel my flame; it was wild and lashing angrily. Have I mentioned that I'm very protective of kids even if I don't know them?

By the time I realized what was going on, Aki's screams and pleas were gone and the spider was marching away as if it just completed a mission. LIKE HELL!

My chains darted out and shot through the legs of it, making it stumble and fall. More and more chains destroyed its legs into they were nothing with my fox helping out. I couldn't think rationally anymore. It was like my whole body was consumed in madness and rage and I couldn't stop it.

The robot was legless when I was done with it. Chains dove forward and struck the body like the legs. Before I could make the finishing blow to it, a boomerang deflected the chain swiftly. Someone grabbed Aki who was unconscious and carelessly tossed her over his shoulder.

Everyone tensed, already weak from the colossal robo-arachnid. The Vongola and Varia were bruised, scratched, panting, and weak. I was worn out and tired. My Box Animal was panting but not bruised. Ava… she was lying face down on the ground with Okami standing protectively over her, bruised and tired like the others. The flames were weak for all the Box Animals and Weapons.

A boy older than me jumped from the pile of rubble and caught the boomerang when it flew back to him. He coolly tossed his head back to the other boy making his hair flip and asked in an oddly deep, mature voice, "You got the brat, Tadao?"

The other boy grinned, flashing razor sharp teeth, and gave him a thumbs up. "Got her, Daichi! Let's get back!"

The one with the boomerang, Daichi, nodded with an unreadable expression and looked at me. That's when I noticed his eyes. They were heterochromatic eyes: one blue eye, one dark forest green eye. They were unreadable like his face but for some reason I could see many things he didn't want to witness in his left eye. The other eye showed a vicious side, teeming with many fights and wars, from blood spill to total massacres.

Something flung at my face and made me jolt back to reality. It tumbled into my hands. Blinking dumbly I stared at it until I understood what it was. Dying Will Pills. Why would I need this? Who gave me it anyway? When I looked back up Daichi and Tadao were gone. Then the rage returned. They took Aki! How could they?!

Without warning, the corners of my vision began to blacken. I swayed on my feet and my flame died down along with my rage. My eyelids drifted close as I slowly drifted off to unconsciousness.
