Chapter 9: A Surprising Author
Lucid was Serena and Blair's favorite place to go for Saturday brunch. It was their tradition since second year of high school and they rarely missed it unless one of them was on vacation. However they missed the past three Saturday since Blair hasn't spoken to Serena. Serena was thirty minutes early but she didn't mind. She enjoyed sitting at the patio during the day. It was relaxing and she needed to go over all the details for tonight's event. Her boss finally let Serena organize her first event and it was a debut for a new young author from Brooklyn. Serena was nervous as she thumbed through the pages just to make sure everything was prepared. Blair finally arrived wearing a new yellow sundress Serena never seen before, black Louboutin heels and oversized sunglasses. Serena got up to greet Blair and kissed her on both cheeks.
"How have you been?" Blair asked as she removed her sunglasses. She placed them carefully next to her on the table and leaned back on her chair.
"I've been good, I'm organizing my first event" Serena said with a smile.
"What's it for?"
"It's nothing big; it's for a new author from Brooklyn"
Serena turned around and rummaged through her bag until she found what she was looking for. She smiled and gave Blair an envelope. It was beige and on the front has her name on it handwritten beautifully.
"What's this for?" Blair asked.
"It's for the event. It's tonight"
"Is Nate going?" Blair asked. She was worried about running to her ex-boyfriend. They haven't seen each other since the day they broke up.
"No, I only invited you. I want you to be there to support me" Serena said genuinely.
Blair thought for a moment about what Serena said and placed the envelope in front of her cherry lips.
"Before I agree to go, I just want to know something" Blair said.
"What is it?"
"What happened with Nate?" Blair asked. Serena was surprised by the question.
"Nothing, I just haven't talked to him since I told you" Serena said quietly.
"I thought you were in love with him?" Blair asks as she drank some of her tea.
"I am….was...I don't know. I'm really confused. I told Nate I was in love with him but that was before we had sex. Now I don't really know how I feel. I wanted to tell you and I should have told you from the start. But I guess keeping it a secret made it better or something. I don't know" Serena said as she stirred her coffee.
"Maybe you're not, I mean if you were in love you wouldn't care. You just want to be with him right?" Blair asked.
After brunch, Blair made a quick pit stop to her apartment. She needed a change of clothes before she went to Chuck's penthouse. She stood in front of his place wearing just a trench coat and nothing else underneath. Chuck opened the door for her and let her in. She was starting to lose confidence in this plan but decided to stick it out. When she walked into the living room, she opened her trench coat and showed Chuck everything. Chuck was surprised and stared in awe. Never in his life would he expect Blair Waldorf waltz into his penthouse and flash her incredible body to him. The trench coat was on the floor now and Blair started walking to the bedroom. Chuck couldn't move. He licked his lips as he enjoyed the view from behind.
"Coming?" she asks.
Chuck swallowed hard and walked to the bedroom behind her. Blair was in front of his bed, and Chuck held her still with her back towards him. He brushed her brown hair over her left shoulder to see the nape of her neck. That was his weakness and obsession. Nobody else did it except for hers. His hand glided down her neck to her back and he lightly kissed Blair's neck. Goosebumps started appearing the side of her arm and she closed her eyes. The warm touches from his hand aroused her and she couldn't stand still any longer. Blair whipped around and pulled Chuck closer for a kiss. HIs left hand was on the back of her neck, holding her close and his right was touching her back. Chuck fell on top of Blair on his bed and didn't move. His lips were still on hers and he moved slowly to her neck. He kissed her lightly and licked her up. She shivered as she felt his rough tongue gliding across her neck. It felt good. Blair lightly touched his shoulders, trying to hold him closer but she couldn't take it anymore. She wanted him inside her at that moment.
"Chuck Chuck Chuck" she said over and over again against his ear.
He was turned on more than ever with her pleading voice.
"Say my name again" Chuck said in her ear. HIs voice was rough and desperate. Blair felt his breath with each word he said and she wished it never stopped.
"Chuck" she said in a whisper.
Chuck kissed her and swirled his tongue around hers. He removed his shirt and unbuttoned his pants while Blair grew impatient by the second. Chuck stared deep into her eyes and thrusted himself in her.
"Oh my god Chuck Bass!" she moaned as he kept going.
Blair wrapped her legs around him and pulled him closer. Chuck loved her slender legs around him and slid his hands up her thighs. He moved his hands where his member was and touched her. She moaned louder. Blair loved the way he used his hands on her. She never wanted it to stop. Chuck lay on top of her when he finished. Blair was out of breath and had her hands around his shoulders.
"That was amazing" he said out of breath.
"Yeah" she said pleased.
Chuck rolled over and lay next to her. Blair stayed still and rolled to her side to meet his eye. Beads of sweat dropped on the side of his face and she lightly wiped it off. Usually she would have gotten up and left by now but for some reason she wanted to stay in bed a little longer. Chuck smiled at her and got up to put a robe on.
"Do you want some dinner?" he asked.
Blair looked at the time and her face changed suddenly.
"Oh my god! Is that the time? I have to go" she said as she quickly got up.
"Have to be somewhere?" Chuck asked.
"I'm going to Serena's event today" she said as she went to the living room and put on her trench coat.
"Rain check on that dinner?" she asks as she turned to look at him.
"Yeah" Chuck said as he stared into her big brown eyes.
Chuck watched as she left and started feeling uneasy. He felt strange and somewhat upset that she couldn't have dinner with him but he brushed it off thinking that it was because a girl said no to him.
The event had started over an hour ago by the time Blair arrived. She had gone home to change to a fitting beige dress with bead detailing since she couldn't come with just a trench coat on. Serena stood out in the crowd as she was wearing a short red cocktail dress. Blair noticed she was talking to an attractive young man. He was tall and lean with short messy curls. They looked perfect next to each other. Blair straightened her dress before she went to meet up with her. Serena hugged Blair tightly when she greeted her and she turned towards Dan.
"Dan this is my best friend Blair; Blair this is the author Dan" Serena said as she introduced them to each other.
"It's nice to meet you" Blair said as she shook Dan's hand.
"I've heard so much about you" Dan said with a grin.
"Not bad things I hope" Blair joked.
"Congratulations on your book" Blair said with a genuine smile.
"Thanks" Dan said.
An older woman came by and whispered something to Dan's ear. His face changed and nodded.
"Sorry to do this, but I have to go. Hopefully I'll talk to you both later" Dan said while he rubbed the back of his neck.
As soon as he left, Blair and Serena started gushing over him like teenage girls.
"He's cute right?" Serena said in a hush whisper.
"Yeah, are you going to see him again?" Blair asked.
"I think he was more interested in you" Serena said.
"Are you crazy? I saw how he stared at you" Blair said.
"Anyways you should go out with him if he asks" Blair continued.
At the end of the night, Blair had her arm looped around Serena's as they walked out to the streets. It was dark but they could still see the stars when they tilted their heads up. Serena didn't want to go home yet. She wanted to celebrate more on the success of her first event. When she looked back to the streets, Dan was standing in front of them trying to catch a cab.
"It might be faster to walk" Serena said.
Dan turned around and smiled when he saw her. She could feel her cheeks growing warmer. He was really cute when he smiled, almost like a child with candy in their hands.
"You're probably right" Dan said.
"Are you two going home now?" He asked.
"I'm going to go home now but I think you should walk Serena home at least" Blair said as she gave Serena a little push.
Serena turned around and gave a look to Blair; "Are you sure?"
Blair nodded and said goodnight to both of them. They stood on the streets for couple minutes. Dan looked at Serena and removed his blazer to drape around her shoulders, hoping that she would be warmer. Serena was surprised by the gesture and thanked him.
"Are you hungry?" Dan asked.
"Yeah, starving actually" Serena said.
"There's a good Greek place around the corner, did you want to go?" Dan asked shyly.
Dan used his right hand to comb through the side of his hair. His curls fell forward and Serena couldn't help but stare. He was cute when he did that. She decided to take Blair's advice.
"Sure" she finally said with a smile on her face.
