The Best Year

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or anything you recognise.

Author's Note: GAH YOU GUYS MAKE ME BLUSH 3 Thank you so much for all the positive reviews! I was a little bit unsure of the whole Cedric/Alex walk- I was going to go and put it in a later chapter, so the ending was a little bit of a split decision, so thank you so much! I think the walks around the Lake are going to be Cedric's and Alex's thing from now on :)

Also meet my new beta! christywithaCH *round of applauds*

Chapters should be better, small typo wise ect.

I thank her for all the innovative ideas, inspiration and help that she has given me

Although some chapters are still under construction purely because she lives on the other side of world.

Without further ado, this is chapter nine out of thirty five. Meaning I'm 25.7% done! I just hate when there is a fanfic with a relatively good story line, and it's so bloody brief!

No more high school, so now I can properly update in an orderly fashion.

Happy Reading!

Chapter Nine: Pumpkin Pasties

Saturday, October 31st

Halloween was a very important time at Hogwarts. It could possibly be classified as the most important feast in the year. The moment I stepped out of the Quarters, I could already feel the whole school buzzing with life, and it was only seven thirty am. Everyone was getting ready for the grand preparations in the evening. I, myself, had decided on a lovely blood red and black number for tonight's special event; With Fleur's help of course. There was so much to prepare before the feast. My first stop for the day was the kitchen, to make sure the feast in itself was being made in accordance to schedule. Professor McGonagall had owled me a five foot long piece of parchment the previous night, with all the foods that had to be completed for the feast.

"Morning Alexandra." said Cedric, appearing from around the corner.

"Good morning." I said, running my hand through my fly-away curls. "How did you sleep?"

"Well." he replied. "Yourself?"

"Pretty well actually." I said. "Where are you returning from this morning?"

"Just went to check up on the decorations for the feast, and now I was going to find you, we need to oraganise the food." said Cedric. "Do you have the list with you perchance?"

"Of course." I said, pulling the parchment from out of my pocket, and handing it to him.

"Well this is the Halloween feast, that's for sure." said Cedric. With a quick flip of his wrist, the parchment unrolled itself, bunching on the floor.

"Some of the things on the list, I don't even know what they are." I replied.

"Well if you're one to experiment with food, Halloween definitely an opportunity to broaden your pallet." said Cedric. "Now we better be off."

"Where are the kitchens?" I asked.

"I'll show you." he replied, neatly winding the parchment back up, before placing it in his pocket. ""It's straight under the Great Hall."

"Ah okay." I replied.

"Trust it to be right next to the Hufflepuff common room." he added, a chuckle gracing his handsome features. I wasn't quite sure what he meant by that comment, but I decided against asking him about it.

After a solid twenty minute walk, and an odd chat to a few people we knew, we finally reached a spiral staircase which Cedric claimed lead right down to the kitchens. In fear of falling, I held onto his shoulder. At that moment, I was slightly puzzled, since there were no kitchens in sight, only another dusty corridor. That's when I notice it; A giant painting of a bowl of fruit, only illuminated by a pair of dying candles, wrenched to the walls on either side. When we approached it, Cedric leaned forward and tickled the ginormous green pear. The fruit let out a giggle and it took a few moments for it to twist and change into a brass knob, which I instinctively twisted. The door swung forward, and similarity to the Gryffindor common room, it revealed a portrait hole. The swarm of aromas of different foods, hit us, like a blast of cool air; Cedric silently gestured for me to enter first.

I knew that the kitchens had to be large, to accommodate for all of the students and staff in Hogwarts, as well as their visitors, but it was almost twice the size of the Great hall. It was absolutely enormous, with a very high-ceilinged room with mounds of glittering brass pots and pans heaped around the stone walls, and a great brick fireplace at the other end. At centre, stood six tables, mirrored to the ones in the hall above, and it was evident that they were magically linked.

"Mr Diggory!" piped up a house elf. It came running towards us with a large golden platter, a variety of different pastries piled upon it. "Mr Diggory, Professor McGonagall told us you will be coming."

"Ah, hello Dobby." said Cedric.

The elf has tennis ball size eyes, with two bat-like wing ears. His name rang a bell, Harry mentioned him, once or twice. I just couldn't remember what for. He wore a tea cozy for a hat, on which he had pinned a number of bright badges; a tie patterned with horse shoes over a bare chest, a pair of what looked like children's football shorts, and odd socks.

"Mister Diggory and... Miss... Mi-" began the elf.

"Potter, Dobby." I said, crouching down to be on the same level as the elf. "Potter. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"Harry Potter has spoken of a sister!" said Dobby, his eyes dilating.

"All good I hope." I said, chuckling.

"Of course, of course." said the elf. From my peripheral vision, I could see Cedric helping himself to a tart of some sort. "My apologies there are not more of us to greet you; We have the feast tonight that we have worked on for the last few days."

"Well funnily enough, that's what we're here to check on. Well... Give you a list to confirm whether it is being made or not." I said.

"Ah yes! Dobby remembers now. If Miss Potter could read out the list, and Dobby will tell you yes or no." he said. Cedric handed me the parchment, and I begun reading from it.

"Might as well start at the top of the list. Amaretti di Saronno." I said, as Dobby took a few moments to think.

"Ah- Well maybe Dobby doesn't remember as well as Dobby thought Dobby did." said the elf.

"Alright, how about this Dobby, I trust you to make sure it's all in order, so we can just leave the list with you." said Cedric kindly.

"Thank you Mister Diggory." said the elf, bowing and retreating.

"Well that was easy." I said.

"Dobby is reliable." said Cedric.

"I must ask Harry how he knows Dobby." I said thoughtfully, more to myself then anyone else.

"Harry knows Dobby?" asked Cedric.

"I swear he has mentioned the house elf before." I said.

"All I know that Dobby once belonged to the Malfoys." said Cedric, following me back out of the kitchens.

"Hmmm... that does ring a bell." I said. "No matter, if I remember, I'll ask Harry next time I see him."

"Well now we have to help the rest of the student council in the Great Hall for preparations, until about noon, that's when the rest of the school get's off classes. We have to help with decorations and pumpkins." said Cedric.

"Sounds like fun." I said. "I always have been terrible at carving pumpkins."

"That's what these are for." said Cedric, childishly waving around his wand; I just rolled my eyes.

"Very mature Cedric." I said.

"I really can be." said Cedric. "So are you ready for tonight?"

"Oh of course I am. I can't wait to be squeezed into clothes that are two sizes too small, and hair plucked from areas I didn't even know existed. All for beauty." I said.

"Oh of course." said Cedric. "I apologise, I've turned our Quarters into a solarium, so I can get my sun kissed glow. Couldn't turn up pasty tonight, to the feast."

"You're an idiot Cedric." I said, elbowing him playfully. "But if you must know, I'm pretty sure the girls from Beauxbatons don't have classes today, so they can spend the whole day preparing."

"That's ridiculous." said Cedric.

"Yes, yes that is." I replied. "Ah shit, Oliver."

The Great Hall was almost unrecognisable. The walls, once plain, were now black, hung with different cob webs and bats. The floor too was covered in a blood red carpet. The tables had changed from wood to glass to fit into the Halloween like theme. The torches on the walls which originally lit by fire, had obviously been charmed to glow in different colours. Students were working in different corners of the hall, on different preparations. Oliver had obviously noticed our arrival, and was striding right towards us.

"Don't you want to talk with him?" asked Cedric.

"Not in the best of moods to be quite honest." I replied.

"You seemed cheery this morning." said Cedric.

"I mean in relation to Oliver." I said. "Hide me."

"I can't Al." said Cedric.

"Ah shit." I said.

"Haven't you talked to him about it?" asked Cedric. "It's been almost over a week and a bit."

"Just busy really." I replied. "But you're right."

"Diggory." said Oliver. "Alex, how are you?"

"Alright Oliver." I replied, "As I was just saying to Cedric, rather busy. I mean exams begin in two or three days. I don't think I've seen the light of day since our match against Slytherin."

"No no, it's understandable." said Oliver. "So how long as you staying here for?"

"Alexandra and I are here until classes conclude for the day." replied Cedric.

"And what time would that be Diggory?" asked Oliver; His cold tone seeping through.

"Well, I do remember the whole student council being owled a timetable on how today would run Mr. Wood. Why do I know this, because Alexandra and myself signed off each one of them personally." said Cedric, returning just as much attitude. I have never seen him like this; It seems that Oliver is the only one who stirs him up into such a mood.

"Well it looks like I have forgotten." said Cedric. "Do you think you can enlighten me Alexandra?"

"At noon Oliver." I replied.

"Are your friends from Beauxbatons coming by?" asked Cedric.

"Yes, only Fleur I believe." I replied.

"What time?" asked Cedric.

"Three-ish I believe." I said. "So Oliver, what have you been doing this morning?"

"Just collecting spiders to put in to cobwebs." he said. "Now we're making pumpkin carvings. Would you like to join?"

"I think I will." said Cedric. "I know Alex isn't too fond of cutting up pumpkins."

"Cedric is right, in not very handy with it; Let it be knife or wand. Is there anything else I could possibly do?" I asked.

"Well Lucy said that she needs some help with further charming the torches over there." said Oliver, pointing towards the opposite wall. My gaze followed his finger, and I immediately made eye contact with Lucy. She waved at me, and I mirrored her actions.

"Okay, sweet." I'll see you boys later.

"Well that looked like fun." said Lucy, her arm wrapping around my shoulders, pulling me into a one handed hug.

"I swear they were about to bite each other's heads off." I replied. "Long time, no talk. How's study going?"

"Like a bad nose bleed." she replied. "Do you think when we can get off here, we could head down to somewhere quiet to practise some Charms and Transfiguration?"

"I need to be back at the Quarters by three, but of course." I said. "Isn't there going to be lunch?"

"No, for Halloween we don't eat anything until the feast. It's like that every year. Although we do get a handful of first years fainting with the lack of food, so I do believe that Madam Pomfrey has a stash of food hidden away in the hospital wing." replied Lucy.

"Well that's fair enough." I said. "Also, I was shifting through the schedule of today... I was wondering, you have a speech to do before desert. May I ask what it is about?"

"Well that's a secret." she said, winking at me.

"Oh Lu-cy. Pleas?" I asked, attempting to give her my very best puppy dog stare.

"You'll find out tonight." she said. "Now help me with these darn flames."

"What do you wish to do with them?" I asked.

"I want them to transfigure into different creatures when people walk past. It'd also be nice for them to let out a scary sound." she replied.

"Hmm, that's difficult." I said. "We could possibly use the catherwauling charm. By book definition, it sets off a high-pitched shriek if entered, which I guess is better then nothing."

"That's a good idea actually." said Lucy. "I know how to do that one, it was silly of me not to think of it. There's our Charms textbook if you need it."

I took a seat, and started flipping through the pages of the book. For some silly reason, and unlike any other subject, the spells weren't listed in alphabetical order. Instead, they were categorised by time of discovery, which made the search of appropriate charms, rather difficult.

"I give up. You'll have to ask Flitwick." I said, closing the book with a light snap!

"Alright, I'll find him a little later then," she said.

Lucy and I, worked alongside the rest of the student council, for a healthy two hours. There was less chatter then I expected, amongst the students. I suppose we were all trying to do our assigned duties before break. Apart from the pumpkins, which Cedric and Oliver were working on, and the lighting which Lucy and I evidently were working on; Other students were crafting candles and releasing charmed bats into the sky of the Great Hall. As it closely approached noon, the Great Hall Halloween plans, slowly came together, as students placed their own crafted final touches.

"And that's the last candle done." said Lucy, as she levitated it up into the sky, to join the others.

"Bloody hell." I said. "Finally."

"Lets get out of here." said Lucy. "And find an empty classroom."

"Yeah, sure." I replied. "Where do you think we can go?"

"Anywhere really." she said. "And if a teacher says it, we can blame it on you. That way, they'll shrug it off as their star pupil, making a mistake."

"I doubt I'm Hogwarts' star pupil." I said.

"Are you serious?" I replied. "Next to Cedric, I'm a nobody."

"Well that's true. But you have to remember that Cedric has been charming his teachers since first year. You haven't been here six months, and teachers give you points for breathing." said Lucy.

"All except Vector, Sprout and Snape. Snape especially hates me." I replied thoughtfully.

"Well rumour has it, that he have you five points on your first lesson." said Lucy.

"That's because I had Adam's assistance in potion making." I said.

"Adam, what do you think of him?" asked Lucy.

"He's a top bloke, real lovely." I replied.

"I think my friend might be interested in him." said Lucy.

"Is your friend a female, or male?" I asked.

"Female, why?" said Lucy.

"Well she's not really in luck, since Adam is one hundred percent gay." I replied. "I thought everyone knew that."

"Is he really?" asked Lucy. "I didn't, purely because I never really talk to him."

"Yeah." I replied. "Now what Transfiguration spells were you thinking of covering?"

"Well there's that smoke into daggers one. The non verbal spell." said Lucy.

Non verbal spells are particularly tricky, and it is most definitely advanced magic. To perform a non verbal spell, it takes a very large amount of concentration, and diction, to be able to complete it. So we wouldn't cheat, Professor McGonagall didn't even give us the verbal version of the spell.

"I hate non verbal ones." I said, swishing my wand to conjure up smoke.

"But image how useful they are in duelling." replied Lucy.

"That's true." I said. "Still a pain to conjure."

"You can start first," she said.

"I am really unfocused today." I said, rubbing my temple.

"Has Cedric gotten into your head?" she teased.

"No, of course not, it's just I'm a little off today." I replied.

"Fine." she said. "I'll go first."

I could see the concentration spread across her features. Her eyebrows scrunching, and the flick of her wrist, shaper then what it needed to be. I gave her the opportunity to have a few tries, however nothing was occurring.

"Would you like me to try?" I asked.

"Please." She egged on.

I thought about the sharpness of a knife, how it had the ability to slice, as I stared into the cloud of smoke. Then I thought about how it moved with magic. How magic had the ability to control it. In a moments notice, a knife came flying directly from the ball of smoke, right at me. Not what I was expecting at all. I quickly dodged it; Only missing my should by an inch.

"It's going to be a long day," I muttered.

It was a quarter to three, and I headed back to the dorms to get ready for the feast. Fleur was very pedantic in relation to being places on time, or a little bit before. I was glad that Lucy and I managed to get some school work in, regardless of all the preparations. Exams started in about three or four days, and last minute spell work was crucial, since exams held both the practical and theoretical aspects of the subjects.

"Ah, there you are." said Cedric. As usual, he was sprawled across the couch; Only today, he was flipping through our Herbology textbook.

"Here I am?" I replied unsurely.

"Thought you wouldn't get here on time. Where did you escape to when you were done in the Great Hall?" he asked.

"Oh, Lucy and I went off to practise some Transfiguration." I said. "Just a little stressed that exams begin so soon."

"Just remember that it's not very intelligent to practise too close to an exam. People tend to panic, and forget things they already once knew." said Cedric thoughtfully.

"That's true, but it is not like I am doing the practise the day before, or the morning of the exam." I said.

"I didn't mean it like that; It's just a heads up." he replied.

"Thanks." I said.

"Shouldn't you be getting ready?" he asked. "You only have three hours until dinner commences."

"Oh shut up Cedric." I replied. "What are you wearing tonight?"

"I have a nice suit, with a shirt and red bow tie." he replied.

"Very tasteful." I said, winking at him. That legendary smile of his, gracing his handsome features. I made eye contact with him for only a few moment; That intense grey never ceased to amaze me, it was just such unusual colouring.

"I try my very hardest." he said, looking away.

"Only for Cho." I teased.

"Yeah... Her..." he replied.

"Knock knock Alex!" I heard Fleur from somewhere behind me.

"Over here Fleur!" I replied.

"Ah, Alex! We have so much to do! Hello Cedric." she said. Even someone as confident as Fleur, faltered a little under Cedric's direct gaze.

"I know. It will be done, don't you worry." I said.

"Have you had a shower yet?" asked Fleur.

"Nope." I replied.

"Oh Alex; Go, shower, now." she instructed.

"Yes boss." I replied.

I quickly ran into the bathroom, to do as I was told. The last thing I wanted to do today, was to infuriate Fleur. I didn't really know what it was about Cedric today, that caught my particular attention. I mean, I have spent the last month with him. I guess you just didn't find guys like him everyday; Those that are both good looking, intelligent and charming. He quite literally was the whole package.

"Alex, are you done yet?" I heard Fleur from behind the door. "You've been in there for the last twenty minutes!"

"Sorry Fleur." I said. "I'll be out."

I didn't know what was clouding my thoughts so greatly. Everything I did, I seemed to have done wrong, or take double the time which really wasn't needed. I quickly towelled myself down, and ran a few charms through my hair to dry it off. Soon I was ready for Fleur to work her non-literal magic. I just really wanted to day to be over, I had a feeling that something bad was going to happen; I just didn't know what. Fleur didn't say a word to me as I exited the bathroom; Rather ushered me into my own room, as she quietly closed the door.

"This is your garment for the evening." she said, handing me a coat hanger, with a large black outfit protector over it.

I turned around and dropped my towel to the ground, leaving me in nothing more then my underwear. I unzipped the bag, to reveal the red and black garment that Fleur had shown me previously. Up close, it was absolutely beautiful. Fleur said that she liked short dresses on me, hence this dress was no different, finishing off somewhere around my mid thigh. It had a tight corset part, embedded with black stones; Which I soon found out was detachable, and the skirt. Both coloured in black and ruby red.

"You've done it again Fleur." I said. "But isn't Halloween a dress up occasion?"

"Dress up? As in ghouls and witches and stuff? Don't be silly Alex." she said. "The Hogwarts girls can dress up all they want. You're not eleven anymore. Halloween is an opportunity to make a statement."

"Whatever you say, Fleur." I replied.

"Okay, good." she said. "Now put it on, so I can begin working on your face."

By quarter to six, Fleur hurried back to the Beauxbatons carriages, to walk up to the feast with the other girls from her own school. She had fully managed to transform me into someone almost unrecognisable over the two and a half hour period, she worked on me. She had tinted my skin to be even more pale then usual; My hair was pulled a little back, in perfect ringlets. The heels that she chose for me, we're very large plain black pumps; I guess she didn't want attention taken away from the dress. My eyes were framed in shades of black and red, brining out the cloudy green. As usual, Fleur had made a master piece out of me.

I stuck my wand on the inside of my shirt, and decided to find Cedric, since he mentioned something earlier that we would go down together.

"Ced?" I called.

"In my room Alex." he replied, in an instant.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Yeah, of course." he said.

Cedric's room was no different from the last time I had entered it. It themed in the same Hufflepuff colours, and the same Quidditch tactics were sprawled across the walls. Cedric stood in the center of his room, in front of his floor length mirror; Fondling with red tie around his collar. Once he was finished with the uphill battle with the bow tie, he turned around to look at me.

"What do you think?" He asked.

He looked incredible. Everything was so sharp and tailored. However, I couldn't tell him that. He and I were strictly in the friend zone category.

"You brush up alright." I said, winking.

"You look incredible Alex, as usual." he said, breaking eye contact.

"Why thank you." I replied. "Shall we get going?"

"After you, my lady." he said, gesturing to the exit. He offered me his arm to take, so I did so. We were getting awfully close in proximity, and my logic was telling me that was a bad thing. However, my heart was informing me that I didn't feel awkward about it. I really needed the day to be over.

"Confident about exams?" I asked, attempting to break the silence.

"Yes, and no," he replied.

"I doubt you have a reason, not to be." I said.

"You'd be surprised. People have a tendency to think I get everything, just because teachers like me. They don't see the background picture on how hard I have to work, to get me where I want to be." he said.

"They just expect that it's natural smarts." I added.

"Exactly." said Cedric. "If only it was as easy as that."

"Well there are many pathways into getting where you want to be." I said.

"That too," he said. "It'd only take a few extra years. When our parents grew up, there weren't as many choices. The N.E.W.T.S were the be all, and end all. These days it's different."

"That's true." I said. "We will see what will come of it."

"On a lighter note, the hall looks amazing." said Cedric, as we entered through the double doors.

Many students were already seated at their house tables. Fleur was right that the whole dress up, looked rather tacky, especially that a lot of the students it seemed, that a pair of ears and a tail was a dress up. A lot of the girls were wearing dresses that were way too tight for them, with cat whiskers painted onto their face, and a witches hat. As for the males, the three most common looks I could see, as I gazed across the entrance of the Great Hall were, pirates, vampires and elves. Very classy.

"Alex, over here." I saw Angelina wave at me.

"It looks like you're wanted." said Cedric.

"I'll see you tonight." he said, kissing me on the cheek.

"Yeah, I'll come find you later when you're ready to retreat." I said.

"Okay, sure." he said.

Soon enough, we met up with the rest of our friends. Alecia was dressed as a fairy, in a green sparkly dress that left nothing to the imagination. Katie was a mouse, with the tail and ears to match, and Angelina, a witch, with the stereotypical warts and green tinged skin. If only Muggles really know what we looked like... They'd be in for a shock. Professor Dumbledore introduced us the the Halloween feast, and thanked the student council for all the hard work that was put in, to make the feast a success. Unfortunately, he also took the liberty of telling Cedric and myself to stand up, so we could receive a more personal round of applauds. I haven't ever really been one for public recognition, and I really wished Professor Dumbledore hadn't done that.

We were soon eating, when the professor raised once more, but this time, it was to introduce Lucy Hale to the podium. Excellent. I could finally find out what Lucy was to talk about.

"Hello. I am Lucy Hale, a seventh year Ravenclaw who is also the prime writer of the Hogwarts Buzz. I am here to talk to you about charity. I know what you're thinking, why on earth would we want to listen to some nerdy girl about charity. Well, firstly, although the muggle world cares little for us witches and wizards. Most of them do, it's an observable truth; There are thousands of children who need our help because there is no water or food. To raise funds for such an important cause, Hogwarts is holding it's very own Debutante Ball. For those who would like more information, I will be at the front of the hall after dinner. Thank you!" She said.

So this was why Lucy had been stalking around so guilty looking in the past couple of weeks. She had a lot of self control in hiding something this big from me. I mean the Debutante is huge! It's a lovely thought for the donations from it to raise money for charity though. I didn't think I'll do it, but I'd surely come to watch. Cedric and I will inevitably have to lend a helping hand, at one point, which I wouldn't mind doing. The Debut is months away, anyway. There was plenty of time to refine the details of it.

I took one last bite of the Black Forest cake that sat on my plate, and decided that it was time to go to bed. Neither Cedric nor myself were place on cleaning duties, so I had a free night. It was a long day, and I could just hear my bed, yearning for my attention. I turned the corridor that would lead me to my Quarters; Just before I could reach the Hippogriff, a pair on arms pulled me into the adjacent corridor.

"You look beautiful Alexandra, as usual." said Oliver. I flinched, as his hands made contact with my shoulders, attempting to rub the stress away. He continued to massage me; small and somewhat gentle circles around my mid spine.

"Thank you," I said, leaning backwards towards the motions of his hands. My head resting on his chest, my hands grappling with the fabric of his dinner shirt.

"What is it?" Oliver asked me, turning my face toward him by the chin, My eyes made contact with this deep brown ones, as a smile played upon his thin lips.

"Nothing, of course, I'm only exhausted." I said, continuing to connect with his gaze, the more I looked, the more they reminded me of Cedric's. Same shape, and although contrasting colours, they had the same penetrative stare. "What are you doing, Oliver?"

"I'm relaxing you," he replied, a chuckle rattling in his throat. He leaned down, pressing my lips against his. Moments later, I reciprocated his actions, letting out a peep of desire as I did so. His hands left my shoulders, one making its way down to the small of my back, where it pressed gently and continued its voyage downward. I gasped as he slapped the back of my dress, my lips still on his.

"Is this the place?" I asked, my face flushing with colour, as he opened his eyes.

"Maybe not," he said, running a hand through my hair, further straightening the already fallen curls. I remember him once saying, that he preferred my hair straight. He pecked the top of my head, and grasped my hand, intertwining his spindly fingers in mine. "But I know somewhere that is."

My heart sped up, as I felt a jolt of adrenaline rush through my veins – Suddenly I felt a lot more awake then I did ten minutes prior. As we walked through the web of tangled passage ways, I realised where we were going. The Gryffindor common room. As I followed Oliver, hands enlaced, my physical senses still not yet functioning as quickly as my mental capacity, I made eye contact with Cedric, who was walking in the opposite direction; He was evidently going back to the Quarters. His eyes struck mine with such intensity, I was almost afraid. I watched as he clenched his jaw and stared down Oliver, who was walking ahead of me. Our eyes met again, but he was the one to break it. Oliver squeezed my hand a bit tighter, prodding me to walk quicker, I felt my hand begin to sweat. I silently followed him through the Gryffindor portrait hole and into his room, where he proceeded to shut the door behind us, and with a swish of his wand, it was magically locked. I leaned against the door, and watched as he pranced toward me.

"You don't have clean up, Oliver?" I stated, moreso then asked, as he pinned my body to the door behind me. I really wasn't in the mood to do any of this, especially that we hadn't talked about our last disagreement. Although, as much as I hated to admit it, I liked this side of Oliver, the slight rebel, the one who wasn't afraid to break rules to have some time with me.

"Not one that I'm planning on attending," his lips formed into a smirk as he said so, and his eyes flickered with delight.

"No?" I teased, kissing his top lip. "Why not? Didn't see you as one to skip out on things such as clean up." He chuckled lowly, and took my hand in his once more, pulling me to his bed, allowing me to lay on it first. He proceeded to climb on top of me, his arms propping his body above, as he kissed my lips, and slowly moved to my neck. He nibbled on the skin, which was now pulsating with blood; I let out a breath, which prodded him to continue. His right hand framed my face, and moved lower toward the tunic of my dress. He slid it under, and squeezed my stomach. The butterflies I had were then set free, as I laughed and kicked his shin as he teased me with a tickle. He moved his hand up, and held me. I found his lips, and pressed mine against them. Before I knew it, his hand was well under and up my dress. He began to manoeuvre his hand around, causing me to shiver in delight. I shut my eyes, and he moved his head lower. He kissed my naval, sucking on it before slipping a hand between my legs. I felt my face burn. I held his left hand in mine, and squeezed him as he teased me. I moved a hand toward his centre, but he quickly slapped it away, a laugh accompanying it. I let out a groan of anticipation.

"I'm having a tough time containing myself, Cedric," I said between breaths. He stopped squeezing my hand, and let go of his grasp on my stomach. "Why did you stop?"

"What did you call me?" he asked, a stern look overcoming his face.

"What do you mean?" I asked, a little disappointed at his abrupt pause, a laugh tickled my throat at the sheer awkwardness of the situation.

"What did you call me, Al?" he asked once more.

"Oliver," I said.

"You called me Cedric." he replied. I stopped my thoughts, and realised he was right. I did not mean to, it came out on its own. I was most definitely in big trouble.

"I- I didn't," I began.

"You did," he insisted. He stood up, and I sat up on the bed, adjusting my shirt. "You indeed did, Alexandra."

I watched the lust in his eyes turn to disappointment and begin to form into anger. I quickly adjusted my hair, and felt a burn in my eyes. I couldn't believe I said it. I mean, of course I thought Cedric was down right gorgeous. However, he and I both knew that a relationship would be right out of line, due to his attraction to Cho, our opposition on the Quidditch pitch, and now the Triwizard Tournament competition.

"No, Oliver please," I began. "I didn't mean a thing by it, I swear," I insisted.

"I'm going to clean up," he said, fixing his hair.

"No, please-" I started, only to be cut off. I didn't blame him.

"You're insane if you think I can just blow that off." said Oliver.
"You should, I'm telling you nothing was meant by it," I said, beginning to become annoyed myself.

"Just get out, I have to lock the door," he said, not making eye contact with me.

"Please, Oliver," I insisted, standing up and walking toward him. I pressed my hips against his, and fingered a design on his chest. "I want you."

"I don't," he abruptly stated, brushing me off like an insect. Maybe I was just some insect to him. I tried to kiss him, but he turned his head so I was only able to peck his cheek.

"Oliver, come on," I said, the burning sensation in my eyes coming back.

"Alex, get out!" he sneered at me, his eyes no longer reflecting anything positive. I left the room without another word, and began walking rather quick to get out of his sight before I broke down completely. I felt a tear fall toward my lips, and I brushed it away with a movement of my finger. My brain couldn't comprehend what I had just done. I had to find Adam. He would be the only one who would know how to deal with the situation at hand. I recalled not seeing him at preparations, so that meant he would definitely be at clean up. I walked back towards to hall, nearly running into third years which were returning from the celebrations as I did so.

Lots of Love; onefrozenheart

PS: how many of you guys use pintrest/twitter. I was thinking of making an account dedicated for the fanfiction, for timetables, images ect ect. It's mainly because outfits and rooms and stuff are based on actual things I've researched so I thought it maybe nice to put an image to the description.

Yay or nay?

Next two chapters are finally getting down to business! Both revolve around the first Triwizard Task!
