Kendall watches Logan approach him and notices the bundle of letters he's carrying. He holds back a harsh laugh, not sure how he should feel. He knows that he should be happy, relieved, and sad at the same time that the brunette has all three hundred sixty-five letters in his hands. All he is feeling though is bitterness and anger. So he decides to speak up first. "Interesting morning for you?"

"Yeah." Logan answered with a nod. "Peggy is here in town." He bites his lip when he sees bitterness on Kendall's face. The green eyed man clenches his fists a little when he hears 'her' name.

"She's here?" He looks at the porch grievously as Logan walks over to sit on a chair beside him, his hands cradling the letters gently.

"Yeah. We saw her on the way back here, at the hotel." He stated softly before looking at his feet. He takes a deep breath and redirects his attention to Kendall when he makes a sound, only to find him staring at his hands.

"I see you got my letters." He mentioned, observing the hesitant grin on the smaller man's face. "Finally." He waits impatiently and when Logan only hums, he decides to bring up the hard topic. "What are you going to do, Logie?"

This question catches Logan's attention and he stares at Kendall for a few seconds before letting out a sigh. "I don't know." He angles his head away and can't help but feeling useless as he watches his first love sit forward in his chair.

"We're back to that? Are we back there? What about the past couple of days? They happened, you know?" Kendall questioned harshly and looked straight into his eyes.

Logan turns his head sharply. "I know they happened. It was all wonderful but also very irresponsible." He sighs when Kendall stands up and kicks the chair he just sat on. "I have a fiancé waiting for me back at a hotel who is going to be crushed when she finds out what I did." He manages to not shrink back when Kendall turns to him.

"So you make love to me and then you go back to your wife? Was that your plan? Was that a test I didn't pass?" He raised his voice as he questioned all this. He fights the urge to roll his eyes when he sees Logan get in defense mode and stand up as well.

"No! I made a promise to a woman. I gave her a ring and my word that I would be the great husband that she wants me to be." Logan explained it carefully. Kendall just shrugs and stares at him like he has grown two heads.

"And your word is shot to Hell now, don't you think?" He asked with sarcasm. He is still having a hard time believing that this is the first boy he ever fell in love with. All cautious, shy, and too careful. Now all he sees is a troubled, rebellious man.

"I don't... I don't know. I'll find out when I talk to her." Logan argued but is only to be talked over by Kendall.

"This is not about keeping your promise, and it's not about following your heart, it's about security." He snapped and continued to glare at him. He almost scoffs when he gets a look of innocence from Logan.

"What do you mean by that?" He inquired dumbly, not understanding where this is going. Kendall just blinks at him, not believing he has to spell this out for the genius.

"Money! He's got a lot of money." He spelled out mockingly, fighting the urge to give his signature smirk when the shorter man glares up at him.

"Now I hate you, you smug bastard." Logan insulted, wanting to actually punch him. He sorta hates how this reminds them of fighting back then before they broke up. When Kendall would actually stick up to him and smart mouth him.

"I hate you too. If you leave here, I hate you. Hate you if you leave here." Kendall argued back, knowing that he could never hate him. He'd be angry and hurt, and probably just stop trying. Logan just throws his arms up, acting like he isn't affected by the words thrown at him.

"Have you been paying attention to anything that's happening?" He disputed, getting frustrated at the dull look Kendall on his face.

"I guess not. I must have misread all those signals." He apologized sarcastically. Logan just nods his head furiously.

"Yeah, I guess you did." He shot back before storming off the small porch to head back to his car. He just wants to get out away from him, not wanting to have more pain in his life. He is already halfway to his car but he turns around for a second when he hears Kendall following.

"You're bored. You're bored and you know it. You wouldn't be here if there wasn't something missing." Kendall suggested without remorse. He continues walking after him when the older of the two doesn't cease his walking.

"You arrogant asshole." Logan affronted, relieved when he gets to his car. He yanks the door open about to get in. Kendall shakes his head in disbelief and decides to try pleading.

"Would you just stay with me?" He begged, sorta relieved when Logan leaves his door open and strides over until he is standing in front of him.

"Stay with you? What for? Look at us, we're already fighting." He pointed out with annoyance, not knowing how much more of this he can handle.

"Well that's what we do! We fight." Kendall stated impatiently. "We fight. You tell me when I'm being an arrogant son of a bitch and I tell you when you're being a pain in the ass. Which you are ninety-nine percent of the time. You might have been a little fragile when I first met you but now, I'm not afraid to hurt your feelings. They have like a two second rebound rate and you're back doing the next pain in the ass thing." He walks to Logan's car and shuts the door, crossing his arms.

Logan saunters over him, kinda confused. "Okay. So what?" He holds back a groan when Kendall braces himself against his car door.

"So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. And we're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that, because I want you." He pauses for a second when he sees Logan's eyes with pain and sorrow inside of them. "I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me? Please? Will you just picture your life for me? Thirty years from now, forty years from now? What does it look like? If it's with that woman go! Go! I lost you once, I think I could do it again, if I thought it's what you really wanted. But don't you take the easy way out."

Logan who was shaking his head as soon as he was asked about his future, speaks up with a cracked voice. "What easy way? There is no easy way, no matter what I do, somebody gets hurt." Kendall holds his hand up, almost finished with what he has to say.

"Stop. Would you stop thinking about what everyone wants? Stop thinking about what I want, what she wants, what your parents want. What do you want? What do you want?" He focuses all of his attention on Logan this time.

"It's not that simple." Logan complained weakly, knowing he wants to choose Kendall but is scared to face the consequences if he does. But the light haired male is not having any of it.

"What do you want? God damn it, what do you want?" He repeated the question, just wanting him to say yes so he can just hold him and kiss him.

"I have to go." Logan responded, swallowing a lump in his throat at the same time. He keeps his eyes firmly fixed on the green orbs to show he is being serious now.

Kendall's heart suddenly breaks when all of his dreams of them finally being able to be together again are destroyed. He nods and moves away from the vehicle, not wanting to see Logan get inside it. He is only able to look at the car once it is pulled out of his driveway.

On the way back to the hotel, Logan keeps replaying their conversation in his head and can't help from feeling guilty only. It makes him rethink about being so angry at Kendall that one night. How he should've realized truthfully, their relationship couldn't work out because of his family. His eyes start tearing up at the fact that it was Kendall trying to do the right thing. Set him free so he could go to college.

A recap of what happened the past few days makes him feel mortified with himself for barely even thinking about Peggy or contacting her. And what destroys him is that he was okay with it all. He hates that someone you were in love with for a year could rekindle so many feelings. More than you ever had for someone you're engaged to. He mostly hates himself for wronging Kendall. He's hurt someone who set him free for the right reasons while he left him for all the wrong, selfish reasons.

Logan's thoughts are cut short when he suddenly hears a car horn being beeped at him hysterically. He blinks the heavy tears that blurred his vision away, only to find that he is in the opposite lane and that another vehicle is about to hit him. Luckily he catches himself on time and pulls off to the side of the road quickly.

He takes a deep breath, calming down once the commotion is over. He lets go of his steering wheel and grabs one of the letters Kendall wrote to him, needing to know what one of them said. He bursts out crying for the first time in years as he studied the words carefully.

"Logie, I couldn't sleep last night because I know that it's over between us. I'm not bitter anymore, because I know that what we had was real. And if in some distant place in the future we see each other in our new lives, I'll smile at you with joy and remember how we spent a summer beneath the trees learning from each other and growing in love. The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that's what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give to you forever."

Logan starts the car minutes later after taking all of this in, hoping that he is able to straighten himself out by the time he gets back to the hotel. Only it doesn't work out. He imagines Kendall saying all of this to him. Hearing him show his passion for him. One of the best qualities he always loved about Kendall is that he was so passionate about what he loved.

He starts regretting that he read one letter since every single memory has flooded his mind again. He arrives back at the hotel shortly after, his face red and tears still streaming down his face. He takes a deep breath and wipes them away before getting out of his Cadillac to go face his fiancé.
