*Loki*
This was not good. Not good at all! Why was Jane here? And what in the world was Darcy doing? She had a thing for Ian, why was she flirting? Loki was hoping for a day or so to get his things together without Darcy about, but that now obviously wouldn't happen. As soon as Darcy left, he would have to face Jane. Loki rounded the corner and found Darcy standing in the middle of the hall with a tall, burly man and Frigga.
"Loki dear! We have just decided something absolutely fabulous. Since Darcy's father is going out of town for a while, we decided that she is going to stay here!" Frigga sent him a warm and knowing smile. Loki felt relief flood through him, knowing Darcy wouldn't truly leave him alone. He felt Jane stiffen next to him, but chose to ignore it, especially when Darcy launched herself at him.
"Holy crap this is gonna be fun! We are gonna have like a full on slumber party! Well we do all the time, but now with your science stuff, we can blow shit up!" Darcy giggled. What the fuck was wrong with her?
"Yes blowing things up is very fun." The man nodded.
"Well I think Darcy is in good hands, but please do not blow up my daughter. Goodbye Darcy, I will be back soon." He nodded to us all and let himself out.
"Now Jane I very much assume you are staying for dinner, so would you please come with me?" Jane smiled.
"Of course Frigga!" They both disappeared into the kitchen before Loki rounded on Darcy.
"What the fuck Darc?" Loki didn't even think about keeping his voice down.
"Whatever is the problem Loki dear?" She feigned a look of surprise.
"Oh please, you know very well what! Darc you're acting like we are a couple!" He kept is voice hushed now, making sure no one heard.
"I am so not! Now c'mon we have to help your mother with dinner." Darcy grinned and turned on her heels. Loki soon heard giggling from the kitchen and poked his head in. He regretted it. Frigga, Darcy, and Jane were all giggling like maniacs, and he knew it was about him. Dammit he needed to get in there.
"Okay so how are you guys?" Loki sauntered into the kitchen.
"Oh we are just fine, Lok," Darcy grinned. She would be the death of him. "Oh Jane you are staying here tonight too right?" Darcy winked at Loki, but turned to Jane.
"Oh well I didn't really plan-"
"Of course you're staying!" Frigga interrupted. Nope. Not just Darcy. They would all kill him!
"Well I guess," Jane said slowly, raising her eyes to meet Loki's. He looked away, a bush on his cheeks.
"Are you sciencey Jane?" Darcy asked sweetly. Jane nodded.
"I hope to be an astrophysicist." Darcy's eyes widened.
"Holy crap. I'm not that good. I'd be the astrophysicist's intern." Loki snorted.
"Then the intern would have an intern." Loki smiled. "How is Ian doing?" Darcy scowled. He was ruining her plan, but thankfully Jane didn't notice.
"I don't know. You talk to him more than I do." Loki leaned in and whispered.
"Now we both know that's not true." Darcy scowled as a grin spread across his face. They both looked up to find Jane staring at them. Loki smiled sheepishly.
"Ugh!" Frigga threw a pot across the room. "Okay unless Loki is cooking, we are ordering Chinese." Jane smiled. She loved Loki's cooking.
"Okay I'll cook, but what do we want?" They all gave him blank stares. "Okay then I'm making crepes."
"You make crepes?" Darcy asked, eyebrow raised.
"He makes wonderful crepes." Jane said dreamily. Loki felt heat rise across his cheeks, and quickly turned away.
"Okay everyone get what you want out of the fridge." He pulled out his crepe griddle. He heard shuffling behind him as he created the batter. He jumped when someone touched his shoulder, and spun around. Jane stood behind him, boxes of strawberries and other fruit in her hands. He scanned the room and found they were the only ones in the room.
"Darcy and Frigga went to do something in her studio." She said quietly.
"Oh okay." Loki took the boxes from her hands and stared to chop the fruit.
"She seems nice." Jane said. "Darcy I mean."
"She is quite the character." Loki said sarcastically.
"You two seem happy together." Jane's heart was breaking into a million pieces as she said it.
"Oh no we-"
"Loki darling Frigga wishes to speak with you." Darcy's voice drawled. Loki sent her his best glare, which she grinned at. Damn, he thought. She knew exactly what she had done.
"I'll watch the crepes." Jane said quickly, covering the silence. Darcy smiled and grabbed Loki's arm. She pulled him down the hall and shoved him into Frigga's studio, slamming the door behind him. Frigga was seated behind her desk.
"So darling, how is it going?"
"How is it going?! What are you two doing!?" Loki yelled.
"If you just tell her that you aren't together, then you will go back to what you were, or a broken version." Loki didn't have an answer to that. It was true. He knew it.
"Okay fine. What do I have to do?" Frigga smiled.
"Just keep doing what you're doing, then tonight, tell her." Loki sighed.
"Okay I'm going to make dinner." Loki turned and fled the room. He wasn't denying it anymore. He was completely in love with Jane. Darcy was not in the kitchen when he returned, but Jane stood in front of the grill.
"Did Darcy pass you?" Loki shook his head confused.
"She said she was going to get you." Loki shrugged. There was an awkward pause.
"God Janie, don't burn the crepes." He said jokingly, shoving her aside. Jane laughed.
"Oh I'm sorry I'm not the master chef."
"Hey being friends with Darcy, you have to learn to cook a lot of things." Jane raised her eyebrow. "First day, she made me make her a waffle, because she didn't want to." Jane laughed.
"How did you guys meet?"
"She was a horrible child and had to be my guide." Loki snorted. "It wasn't really a tour. We have all the same classes, so I just followed her around." Jane smiled sweetly. "Will you go tell them the crepes are done please?" Jane nodded.
*Jane*
Jane's heart was gone. Completely gone. It had never occurred to her that Loki might have found someone. Walking to find them was hard. Jane liked Darcy, truly she did, but Darcy was her competition.
That's why what she heard didn't make sense.
"He doesn't have the balls to tell her. It's not going to happen without a push."
"Darcy, he loves he, he truly does. He won't let her slip through his fingers again, unless he thinks she is still with Thor. He called and apparently she broke up with him."
"So she loves him too, but that won't help unless he's going to do something about it."
"She has to tell him she isn't seeing Thor, and he has to tell her that you are not his girlfriend."
"Yeah, that's getting weird."
"Especially since you like Ian." Jane heard a scoff. "Don't lie to me Darcy, I always know."
"Fine, but how are we going to do this?"
Jane reached up and knocked on the door. She knew exactly what she was going to do.
