Chapter 8: Showdown in Madagascar

The hovercraft lands on the beach east of Madagascar and everyone inside it comes out armed to the teeth. Johnny was wearing the Turbo Action Backpack and had his super stretchy arms, Dukey and the twins had the freeze blasters and Isamu was carrying a rifle.

Johnny: "Okay, now, does anyone have any idea where we're supposed to find this guy?"

Susan: "We do. While Rokuro wasn't looking, we hid one of our tracking beacons on him before he left us in Alcatraz."

Dukey: "Ooh, nice one."

Mary: "It should show where he went on your watch, Johnny."

Johnny presses a button on his watch, and it shows an arrow pointing in the direction where the beacon that was on Rokuro is.

Johnny: "He went down this way. Let's go!"

Johnny runs into the forest while the others followed him. After a while of running through some bushes and jumping over a few logs, Dukey hears a noise and raises his ears.

Dukey: "Hold on a second!"

Johnny: "What? What's the hold up, Dukey?"

Dukey: "I hear something."

Isamu: "What is it?"

Dukey: "It sounds like… people screaming. It's coming from over there."

Isamu: "Oh no, it must be Rokuro blasting his way through a city to find the scroll. We have to stop him and fast!"

The gang runs through the forest and find themselves in the middle of a city. There were people running around in fear and either trying to find a place to hide or get out of the city.

Dukey: "Um, I think it's safe to say he's been through here already. But, where is here, exactly?"

Mary: "Hmm… by the looks of it, it looks like we've just arrived to Ambohimanga."

Johnny: "Ambo he what now? I thought we were in Madagascar?"

Susan: "We are, Johnny. This is just a city in Madagascar, called Ambohimanga."

Johnny: "Oh. So, you think this is where we're gonna find that scroll thingy?"

Isamu: "I would say so. Johnny, which way is Rokuro now?"

Johnny looks at his watch again to see where the arrow on it was pointing.

Johnny: "Whatever the old guy's up to, he's heading down that way."

Isamu: "Then, we'd better hurry before he finds the scroll."

They start running through the city while avoiding the locals that were running around in fear. They continued running until an explosion went off from a distance, causing them to stop in their tracks.

Johnny: "Uhh, what just happened?"

Mary: "Sounds like a bomb just went off."

Dukey: "Aw, great. Now he's got explosives with him, too?"

Susan: "I gotta say, I give him points for preparation."

The archeologist looks up and spots something in the air.

Isamu: "Look, up there! Smoke! It's not too far from here. We're getting close."

Johnny and the gang ran to find out where the explosion came from. Eventually, they had arrived to an old castle with the gateway doors blown to pieces.

Susan: "I think we just found out where the explosion came from."

Dukey: "Yup, looks like it. But, where are-"

But then, six of Rokuro's men were taking positions all over the wall and started firing their rifles at them. They took cover and Johnny says,

Johnny: "Okay, I have officially had it with these dorks!"

The flame-headed boy turns his arms into super stretchy arms and uses them to launch himself high in the air while screaming,

Johnny: "Geroni-bungaa!"

He knocks down two men on the wall and lands on the ground. He stretches his arm to grab the third man on the wall, runs out through the doorway and tosses him directly at one of the men on the ground, sending both of them far into the trees. He then hits one guy on his left with a right hook with his giant fist, and hits the other on the right with an uppercut, knocking them both out.

Susan: "Whoa. Great work, Johnny."

But then, while Johnny was brushing the dirt off his hands, one of the men walks up to the doorway with his rifle and was about to shoot Johnny in the back, but Dukey stops him by freezing him with the freeze blaster.

Johnny: "Whoa. Thanks for the save, Dukey."

Dukey: "No problem."

The gang runs through gateway and a very bright light shined over a big tree that was not too far from where they were. They all decided to head there to find Rokuro. They eventually arrived at the tree that had a few steps to it and find Rokuro standing over an open coffin, and Isamu could instantly guess whose it was.

Isamu: "Manabu…"

Rokuro heard him and slowly turned around with an evil smirk on his face and Manabu's scroll in his hands.

Johnny: "Oh, so that's what it looks like."

Rokuro: "Sorry, Isamu and young Americans, but I'm afraid that you have all come this far for nothing."

Isamu: "Rokuro, please, don't do this. It doesn't have to be this way."

Rokuro: "It's too late to plea now, old friend… years too late." (Holds up brush) "Now, behold the power of Manabu's scroll!"

Mary and Susan: "Oh, this is bad."

Rokuro holds down the button on the brush, writes some words on the scroll in Japanese, and suddenly, ten samurai appeared around them.

Johnny: "Whoa, didn't see that coming."

Susan: "Tell me about it. If I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes, I wouldn't believe it."

Rokuro: "I told you that I would have the scroll before any of you. Now then, if you will all excuse me, I have some writing to do."

The evil archeologist casually walks away while writing more words on the scroll. Isamu ran to stop him, but one of his samurai suddenly stood in front of him with its sword pointing at him. He takes a few steps back as he and the Test kids were surrounded by Rokuro's samurai creations.

Isamu: "If any of you got a plan, now's the time."

Dukey: "Uh, uh, hey, wait a second. Johnny, you still got a smoke grenade on you?"

Johnny: "Yeah, but how is-… Oh, I think I know what you're thinking, Dukey."

Johnny takes out the only smoke grenade they had left, pulls the pin and rolls it to the samurai in front of him. They stare at it in confusion until smoke bursts out from the grenade.

Johnny: "Let's get em!"

Three samurai were caught in the smoke as Isamu and the Test kids ran straight into it. The rest of the samurai ran in as well. There were of clashes and blasts going on inside the smoke. When it cleared up, all of the samurai were either knocked out or frozen solid.

Dukey: "This wasn't really what I was thinking, but this works, too."

Mary: "Uh…" (Points at forest) "What is that?"

They all notice something far in the forest of Madagascar. Susan takes out a pair of binoculars and sees something approaching the city of Ambohimanga.

Susan: "Aw great. Rokuro just made a whole army of samurai and they're coming this way."

And the worse hasn't even started yet. They're feet started feeling rumbling on the ground and see pebbles next to their feet shaking a little. Big shadows started forming around them and the city.

Johnny: "Um, is it nighttime already?"

Isamu: "I do not believe that is the case, Johnny."

They turn around and see three gigantic statues that were shaped like men were standing a few feet in front of them with Rokuro standing on one of the statues' shoulder.

Johnny: "Oh, for crying out loud here!"

Rokuro: "Now do you see, Isamu? Now that I have Manabu's scroll in my possession, I have the power to take over this world with an iron fist!"

Isamu and the Test kids heard every word he said as he laughs evilly.

Dukey: "Yup, we're doomed."

Isamu: "No, we're not. We have to think of a way we can bring these giants down and get the scroll back."

Just then, the events of when Wacko tried to turn Porkbelly into WackoTown were running through the twins' minds and came up with a plan.

Mary and Susan: "That's it!"

Johnny: "Huh? What's it?"

Susan: "Johnny, do you remember a few days ago when Wacko attacked with Big Boris?"

Mary: "And how you were able to stop them?"

Johnny: "Yeah, Dukey bashed into its head as a whale and I blew em away with the hurricane hands?"

Isamu: "A whale? Hurricane hands?"

Dukey: "It's a long story."

Mary: "So, if attacking the head was able to work against Big Boris…"

Susan: "Then, maybe attacking those statues' heads should be able to against them, too."

Johnny: "Hey, yeah. Okay then, big genius sisters, what's the plan?"

Susan: "Johnny, you use the Turbo Action Backpack to fly up to the statues and keep them focused on you while Mary and I climb up to their heads with our all-terrain shoes."

Mary: "Once we're close enough to the head, we can use the freeze blasters to freeze their heads solid and you'll be able to smash them to pieces with your super stretchy arms."

Dukey: "That sounds like a good plan, but what about those samurais that are attacking the city?"

Isamu: "You and I will handle them, Dukey. You three just get the scroll from Rokuro before he manages to escape."

Johnny, Dukey, Mary and Susan: "Right!"

Dukey tosses his freeze blaster to Susan and he and Isamu run back to the city to deal with the samurais Rokuro conjured up by using the rifle Isamu got from one of his thugs and Dukey's kung-fu moves. Mary and Susan ran to the giant statues while Johnny flies up in the air using the Turbo Action Backpack and appeared in Rokuro's sights and waves his arms at him.

Johnny: "Yo, Rokuro! Over here! Come and get me!"

Johnny flies to the right as Rokuro glares at him and uses the scroll to direct the statues to follow Johnny. As they started moving, Susan and Mary managed to jump in the air, land on one of the statues' feet and began climbing up to its face. As Johnny was flying, the statues were swinging their hands at the flame-headed boy to catch him. After a few moments of chasing, one of the statues gets in front of Johnny, he flies to the left and the statue Rokuro was on blocked his path. Johnny was now caught in a triangle formation by the giant statues and couldn't fly away. Then the statues balled up their hands and three gigantic fists were coming straight at Johnny. He avoids them at the last second by moving upwards as their fists collided and used their other fists to get Johnny. While he was dodging fists, Susan and Mary were close to one of the heads and fire their freeze blasters from both sides until it stopped moving. Johnny and Rokuro notice it as the twins shouted,

Mary and Susan: "Quick, Johnny! Hit it now!"

Johnny: "Roger that."

Johnny flies to its face and uses his own big hands to smash the statue's head with a left hook. It then started tipping over to the left and the twins jump in the air to the next statue on its left hip.

Rokuro: "Don't think that I'm going to let you try the same trick twice."

Rokuro uses the scroll to get the statue he was on to nab Susan and Mary. When its giant hand started reaching out for them, Johnny took out a grappling hook that was in the Turbo Action Backpack, fires it and latches the hook on to its wrist. He pulls the line to bring its hand around and behind its back until he got it in an arm twist position and kept pulling the line to keep it there. Rokuro uses the scroll to get the statue to pull back. They were both pulling with all their might until the line broke and causes Johnny to spin horizontally backwards a few times. Mary and Susan got close to its head and fire their freeze blasters from both sides. The statue eventually stopped moving as the twins shouts,

Mary and Susan: "Now, Johnny!"

Johnny: "You got it."

Johnny charges straight for the frozen head and breaks it into pieces with a double-fist attack. The statue falls forwards and the twins jump high in the air and land on the last statue's left arm. Rokuro tries to get them off as the statue wipes its right hand across its arm and the twins run from it. When the hand got close to them, Johnny quickly flew straight at it and pushed it away with his big hands and flies in front of its face.

Johnny: "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?"

Rokuro: "You mean, like you?"

The statue tries to squash Johnny by clapping its hands together. Johnny uses his big arms to prevent himself from being flat as a pancake.

Johnny: "Agh, geez! This isn't what I meant at all!"

Rokuro: "I'll squish you like the insect you are!"

Mary ran to the tip of the right hand and Susan ran to the tip of the left hand. They aim their freeze blasters at the face and shout,

Mary and Susan: "Yeah, we don't think so!"

They fire their freeze blaster at the statue's face until it stopped trying to squish Johnny. He pushes the hands away and flies to the frozen solid face.

Johnny: "Wah-taaaaah!"

He hits it with an uppercut and its face falls to pieces while tipping over backwards. Enraged, the evil archeologist jumped in the air, grabbed on to Johnny's ankle and they both started going down.

Johnny: "Hey, what do you think you're doing? Let me go!"

Rokuro: "You have interfered my plans for the last time, you flame-headed brat!"

Meanwhile, Dukey had just taken a few more samurais with his kung-fu and Isamu shoots down the remaining ones with his rifle. They both notice Johnny falling down to Earth with Rokuro hanging on to him. The two of them crash-land into some trees, fell through a few branches and landed on the grass. They both try to get up, and Johnny notices Manabu's scroll and brush lying a few feet away from him. Rokuro sees him trying to get them, takes out a switchblade from his back pocket, flicks the knife out and charges at the flame-headed boy. Johnny saw him coming, dodges his attack and gets only the tip of his hair sliced off.

Johnny: "Yow!"

Rokuro continuously swings his blade at Johnny as he dodges his attacks while saying,

Johnny: "Dude, has anybody ever told you that you shouldn't run around with a knife?"

Rokuro thrusts the blade at Johnny in response, but Johnny uses one big arm to grab his wrist and uses his normal hand to take the blade from his hand and throws it away. Johnny lets him go, but then he grabs Johnny, hoists him up and throws him far to the left, but Johnny stretches his big arms and grabs two trees to catch himself from going any further. When Rokuro grabbed the scroll and brush that was next to him, Johnny made like a slingshot by launching himself at Rokuro and dropkicks him straight into a tree.

Johnny: "Give it up, old man! You can't win!"

Rokuro: "Ugh, don't be so sure."

Again, he starts writing words on the scroll with the brush.

Johnny: "Go ahead; bring all the samurais and giant statues all you want. We can take em on any time of the week."

Rokuro: "(Chuckles) Who said anything about samurai or statues?"

Johnny: "Say wha?"

Rokuro finished writing, the ground started to shake and a mountain starts forming right from beneath them. They both grabbed on to a tree and hung on tight as they were being brought high into the sky at a fast rate of speed.

Johnny: "So, this is your new plan? Grow a mountain in the middle of a forest?"

Rokuro: "Oh, not even close!"

Johnny's wrist communicator starts ringing and he answers it.

Johnny: "Hello?"

Susan: "Johnny, what you're on is not a mountain!"

Mary: "That's a volcano, and it feels like it's about to erupt soon!"

Johnny: "What?!"

Rokuro: "That's right. When this volcano reaches 10'000 feet in the air, its lava shall consume all of Madagascar, along with you and the others with it!"

Johnny: "Are you nuts?! You'll get caught in the lava, too, ya psycho!"

Rokuro: "Not if I use these, I won't."

But before he could even write on the scroll again,

Johnny: "Dude, gimme those!"

He stretches his right arm out to grab the scroll and the brush, but Rokuro tries to keep them out from his reach by leaning back. But then, they both slip from his hands and start falling back down to Earth.

Rokuro: "NOOO!"

They both kept falling and falling and falling until they were caught by Isamu with Dukey, Susan and Mary beside him.

Dukey: "How are we gonna stop this? Is there a way to stop this? I'm gonna freak out if we can't stop this!"

Isamu: "There is only one way to stop this. I just have to use the power of Manabu's scroll to fix everything before the lava hits us."

Susan: "Well, I hope you're a fast writer, Isamu, because the volcano just stopped going up."

Isamu holds down the button on the brush and began writing on the scroll in Japanese as fast as he could. While he was writing, molten rocks burst out from the volcano. One giant molten rock was coming straight for Isamu, Dukey, Susan and Mary while magma was spilling out from the volcano and getting closer to Johnny and Rokuro. They were both getting closer and closer to their targets as the Test kids began screaming their heads off. Just before the molten had hit Isamu, Dukey and the twins, and before the lava was about to come into contact with Johnny,

Isamu: "Finished!"

The archeologist had written the last word on the scroll and its power activates. The giant molten rock and lave both vanished into thin air, as well as the giant broken statues and samurais scattered across the city. The volcano was deforming, bringing both Johnny and Rokuro back down to solid ground. Suddenly, Rokuro was all tied up in rope just as the ground had returned to normal and couldn't move. Isamu, Dukey, and the twins came running in waving at Johnny.

Isamu, Dukey, Mary and Susan: "Johnny!"

Johnny: "Hey, you guys. Uh, what just happened?"

Isamu: "I happened. I managed to use Manabu's scroll to fix all the damage Rokuro had caused, and now everything has been returned to the way things were before. Almost as if nothing ever happened."

Johnny: "Oh. Sweet."

Rokuro: "(Grunting) Isamu! Mark my words! When I get free from this, I am going to-"

Isamu writes on the scroll and Rokuro suddenly had a gag in him mouth.

Johnny: "Now, that sounds a lot better."
