I rushed out into the main area to find that them trying to restrain Evie, Jay and Ben while trying to usher Carlos away from the three. I put my fingures to my lips and whisled as loud as I could. Everyone turned their heads to me. All the dragons snapped to attention besides the ones holding Ben and Jay the others hadn't grabbed Evie yet. Evie rushed to me "Dagger you're okay!" She esclaimed as she threw her arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around her waist and placed a kiss on her temple. "Dragons release them. They're friends." I ordered, all the Dragons snapped to attention again. "Yes Alpha!" "Show the boys to Alpha's domain." I ordered as I lead Evie to the side.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked not trying to sound harsh but I was so scared seeing the Dragons go after Evie. "We tried finding Mal in all the places she ran to the whole time we knew her and Carlos said there was one more place he could think of that would offer her the safety she needed after coming back to the Isle. We never thought that he would lead us to the Dragons' Den." Evie said as she rested her head on my chest. "Babe if I hadn't heard the rucus you could have been in serious trouble. I got so scared seeing you go up against my Dragons." I said as I kissed the crown of her head. I lead her to my office asking her to wait while I sent one of the hatchlings who lingered around my office door to go get a chair so she could sit next to me.

"Okay so I know you all have some questions about what is going on here." I said to them gently. "Yeah the main being where is Mal!" Ben exclaimed nervous about being this far in a gang territory not knowing where Mal was. "Mal is getting help in the Med area as there was an issue when she arrived with an arrogent hatchling that has been delt with." I told them gently. "What?! Let me see her!" Ben yelled jumping from his chair. "Ben I will be taking us all there to see her once everyone has had a chance to settle down and news has time to reach the Med bay that everything is safe for entry again and they don't have to be on standby for emergencies besides how they normally are." I told him as Carlos slammed him back down in his chair. Jay and Evie looked shocked having never seen Calos be forceful with anyone.

"Now while that is happening I will explain why it is Mal would feel safe here and why Carlos would know about it but not the rest of you." I said before starting the story that only six people knew, myself included, the whole true story about the origins of the Dragons, the Dragons' Den, who I was to them, and how I returned everytime I could sneak back here to manage my dragons.

"YOU MURDERER! I trusted you to protect the citizens of this country weither they are here on the Isle or on the contentint! Yet your first time here and you killed someone! Someone you called brother even! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO TRUST YOU WITH MY OWN LIFE IF YOU KILLED HIM FOR NOT HEALING WHEN YOU WANTED HIM TO WOUNDS TAKE TIME TO HEAL!" Ben roared sounding the most animalistic I had ever heard him in my life. I hung my head in shame at the actions I had taken years ago.

"Mal is in Charlie's domain. Carlos I'm sure you still know the way." I said turning away and running from the room faster then I had ever moved before. I ran even when Evie shouted after me and tried to follow me before Carlos held her back.

EVIE POV

I tried shouting after Kat and getting out of Carlos's hold but he was shockingly strong for someone we thought was the weakest of us the one we thought we had to protect. I rounded on Ben once Kat was too farway to hear running from the office, her office. "WHY?! Why would you do that to her Ben?! She feels guilty enough about what she had to do!" I yelled at him. "ME! She's the one who's the murderer!" Ben yelled the animalistic quality leaving his voice to a slight degree.

"Ben she had too." Carlos said gently still holding firm to me so I wouldn't lash out at the King. Jay was in place to grab the King incase he thought about lashing out himself in anger at either me or Kat.

"She did have a choice she could have gotten help." Ben growled lunging for Carlos and I before Jay grabbed him by the arms and held firm restraining the young king. "That's where you're wrong MY KING." I snarled venum dripping off the two words. If he would not give Kat the chance to defend herself I would not call him a friend of mine. "What happened to innocent before proven guilty Your Highness." I snalred before rentching my arms from Carlos's grip and moving to stand by the door. "Let's just go see Mal since there's no way we could know where Dagger went after the stunt you pulled." I growled causing Carlos to nod and moving to lead the way. Once we walked through the door to the office he pulled a necklace with dragon shapped pendent and a wrench pendent from inside his shirt that even the adults on the isle had come to fear crossing.

'How could we have never known this part of their past?' I thought following the black and white haired teen. "Carlos why would Mal come back here if she left and why did she leave? That part of Dagger's story was very vage." Jay asked as we made our way through the converted warehouse. "That is for Mal to tell but I think she came back here because the Dragon's Den will always offer sancutary for the Dragons new and old. Once a dragon always a dragon after all." Carlos said looking back to Jay.

"What does that mean?" Ben asked. Carlos laughed. "Dagger when she first came to this place there was no order only caous like she told you. She only really tells the story of the start of the Dragons when we met as the beginning but for some of us it started long before that. Long before Dagger ever came to the Isle before she ever got her name. Back when she was still on Auradon ingnorant to the plights of the Isle much like you were and still are Ben. Back when Mal and the rest of us were just small children trying to survive because our parents deemed us useless to the grand scheme of taking control of the Isle and then Auradon. Back when there was no friendships here, no allies, only war between all the villains. When all of our stories were seporate."

The teen let out a sad chuckle and opened a door. "It's a story for another time we're here."

Walking into the room it looked like... well I don't know what, it's not something I encountered before but it smelled strongly of cleaning supplies. "This... This looks like the palace hospital wing." Ben whispered shocked. "Well this is the Healer's den." Carlos said laughing walking to the other end of the room where there was another door. It had a plac next to it. I moved over to it to see what it read.

"Charlie's Domain Built in honor of the brave Dragon who gave his life to let others live on. He once shared his dream to become one of the Den Healers, to save lives. Charlie was on a path to do just that when he was wounded, when the chances of death were too great he sacrificed his own life to do what the healer's othe dereed, to his belief. Do what ever you can so that another can live. Charlie asked for a swift death for it to be as painless as possible so that there would be enough supplies to make it through the battle as that his younger brother and pasu-sister could live as both were wounded and it was them or him. This ward stands in tribut to the debt the founder Dagger can never repay. A boy who in the end didn't become a healer but the hero any healer could strive to be." I read aloud tearing up at the end.

"Oh you must be the visitors... Carlos!" said a young boy's voice. "Jimmy! It's so good to see you." Carlos said as I whipped around to see that a young boy of ten years stood behind us. He had a necklace almost identical to Carlos's but intead of the wrench his had a potion bottle shapped pendent. "I'm guessing your here to see Mal?" The boy, Jimmy, said with a smile. "Yes we are. May we enter your brother's domain?" Carlos asked. I gasped, this was the boy, the little brother Kat told me about. "Of course. Head right in, I have some wounded and sick to see too. It was good seeing you Carlos. May the Dragons Warriors be watching over you." Jimmy said turning away. "Oh and tell Mal that I said may Charlie grant her a speedy recovery." He said before walking away.

Carlos smiled at the boy's retreating back before he opened the door to Charlie's Domain. There on the bed lay Mal in a sight I would never un-see.
