Sarah woke up the next morning listening to her phone ring. Nobody but Emma had her number and she would have been at her art preview now she thought confused, she frowned grabbing her phone not recognising the number but reluctantly picked up anyway.

"Hello?" She croaked out tired.

"Did I wake you?"

"Damon? How did you get my number?" Sarah asked groaning pulling the sheets over her head.

"I have my ways plus it was pretty easy since I've personally taken the liberty to make myself your new legal guardian." Damon answered while she rolled her face off the pillow.

"In other words, you compelled someone. Damon, I'm eighteen. I don't need a guardian and this is not what I meant when I told you we could talk sometime." Sarah mumbled reluctantly sitting up even though she really wanted desperately to hang up on him for disturbing her precious sleep.

"Well I'm just being friendly and you will eventually be very friendly too, believe me I know from experience, it's inevitable." Damon said no doubt smirking on the other end, she thought.

"Uh, I'm hanging up." Sarah groaned irritated.

"Wait! I actually do need to talk to you. Meet me here at the boarding house in an hour." Damon interrupted before she could follow through with her words.

"Why?" Sarah asked frowning rubbing her eyes to stay awake.

"Well you'll find out when you get here."

"Fine. I'll come over." Sarah relented sighing.

"So... what are you wearing?" Damon asked pervertedly. She rolled her eyes and hung up the phone tossing it besides her. She fell back on her bed but as soon as she shut her eyes her phone began to ring again, she groaned angrily grabbing it.

"What?!" She yelled out irritated.

"You fell asleep didn't you." Damon said laughing.

"God, Damon you said an hour now stop bugging me before I change my number." Sarah said frustrated knowing that her sleep was now irrevocably ruined.

"Well I wanted to know if you wanted me to pick you up?" Damon retorted laughing softly at her irritation.

"No." Sarah said flatly not amused.

"Oh come on. Don't I atleast deserve a hint to where you live." Damon whined loudly.

"No, you don't." Sarah sighed irritated.

"Sarah trust me." Damon whispered softly suprising her by his genuinity.

"Damon, I'll see you in an hour and I don't need a ride because I'll be walking." Sarah responded casually hoping he'd let it go and not catch on.

"Was that a hint? Are you close?" Damon asked excited.

"Bye, Damon." Sarah said hanging up as she smiled shaking her head at his antics. She got off the bed and made her way to the bathroom. She stepped into the hot shower after quickly stripping off her clothes and began to relax under the hot stream. Once she was done, she got out and pulled on some black skinny jeans and a light lavender top before grabbing her keys and slipping on her converse shoes walking hurriedly out of the door. She began to wonder why Damon wanted her to come over this early, maybe he had found something he wanted to share she thought to herself as she went through the woods towards the boarding house making sure to take her time and appear from a different direction so that Damon wouldn't suspect which way she really came from. She made her way out into the clearing towards the front door and was about to knock, when suddenly the door flew open in front of her revealing a smirking Damon.

"So through the woods. Are we neighbours?" He asked softly smiling while leaning in close to her but she just rolled her eyes and walked past him into the house.

" So why did you really call me over? And you have company..." Sarah trailed off stopping as she saw Stefan, Elena and Alaric sitting in the parlour staring at her.

"Sarah?" Alaric asked equally confused.

"Hey Mr. Saltzman. What are you guys doing here?" Sarah asked uncomfortablely.

"Sarah. Ric knows about me and Stefan because he's our modern day Buffy. Ric, Sarah knows everything because she's um... What are you again?" Damon asked looking at her curiously.

"I'm nothing, so why am I here?" Sarah asked feeling restless trying not to tense up under their gaze. She could sense that they all didn't really want her here except for maybe Damon.

"And why am I here?" Alaric asked confused as well.

"Well your here because I need information on the lockwoods they aren't vampires and they aren't humans either so I need you to find out what they are? And you, your here to keep me company." Damon said to Alaric then put his arm around Sarah's shoulder. She frowned glaring at him for ruining her sleep for nothing while Stefan and Elena looked at them still confused by their sudden friendship.

"Now, Why would I know anything?" Alaric asked still confused.

"Well, You wouldn't but your dead non dead wife might." Damon said walking towards the bar as Sarah reluctantly sat on the arm of the couch when he pushed her forward to walk with him.

"Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke together." Elena spoke finally understanding.

"You said she spent years researching about Mystic Falls." Stefan said thinking curiously as Damon stood beside Sarah with a glass of bourbon in his hand.

"Isobel's research were rooted in folklore and legends about Mystic Falls. At the time I thought they were all fiction." Alaric explained.

"Like the amazing vampire story." Damon said smirking while using one of his hands to wrap around Sarah's shoulders inadvertedly getting everyone's attention. She tried to subtly shrug him away but he didn't relent making her even more tense as everyone's eyes were on her.

"Aside from vampires, what else did she research?" Elena asked trying to get back to their conversation.

"The lycanthrope." Alaric answered.

"Wait like Werewolves?" Elena asked confused.

"That's impossible, that's way too Lon Chaney." Damon interrupted skeptically.

"Is it though?" Stefan asked in question.

"I've been on this planet one hundred and sixty some odd years. If werewolves exist where are they?" Damon asked not believing them.

"Really, your a 'vampire' and you just pissed off a 'witch' last night and your skeptical now. And why do you suspect the lockwoods anyway? Tyler seems harmless." Sarah asked looking at Damon who frowned at her.

"Well I see your already defending your new boyfriend now." Damon said irritated.

"What?!" Sarah asked startled by his sudden angry demeanour.

"You know, how you and the kid were practically ripping each other's clothes off at the kissing booth." Damon spat out in what she could feel was slight jealously as he downed his drink quickly, everyone stayed silent watching them.

"Seriously it was one kiss that I didn't even want. Is this the reason why you asked me to come today. Then clearly I'm just wasting my time here..." Sarah said disappointed and soon walked out of the house furious that everyone in the room didn't want her there and that unfortunately included Damon at the moment. He palmed his face and was about to go after her when Elena interrupted him.

"Let her go, Damon. Why did you even call her over anyways? You don't want her involved in this." She said catching his attention for a moment before he left after her.

Sarah was making her way through the woods angry that her sleep was ruined for nothing. He definitely wasn't the same person anymore she thought, why did she even bother trying to be friends with him. She was muttering a bunch of profanities at him under her breath while walking through the woods when she felt two arms grabbing her shoulders stopping her.

"Let me go." Sarah said trying to push his hands off her but he just pulled her to his chest.

"I shouldn't have said that okay. I just wanted you to stay away from that punk Tyler until I'm sure he and his uncle aren't dangerous." Damon said apologetically still holding onto her but she wriggled out of his hold and began to walk away from him.

"Come on, I'm really sorry, Sarah... You know I'm right behind you so if your heading home, I'm going to find out where you live..." Damon said trying to stop her and smirked when he saw her freeze. She turned around walking back towards him and then quickly passed by him.

"So where are we going?" Damon asked softly walking besides her after their persistant silence increased.

"I'm going to the grill and your going stay away from me." Sarah spoke avoiding his gaze on her.

"Oh come on, Sarah. I promise never to piss you off again." Damon said appearing in front of her immediately stopping her. He was staring at her, his eyes trailed the contours of her face and down to her lips when he began to lean close to her but before he could claim her lips, she shrugged him off and walked passed him. He sighed and stood still but was startled hearing her yell out to him.

"Are you coming?" Sarah sighed stopping and reluctantly offered smiling making him grin widely walking towards her.

"I knew you couldn't stay mad at this face." Damon said victoriously wagging his eyebrows making her roll her eyes.

"Don't flatter yourself. So why did you really call me over?" Sarah asked curiously as they walked back to the boarding house.

"Well I wanted you around is that so hard to believe." Damon said putting his arm around her shoulders.

"Yes." Sarah immediately responded making him roll his eyes.

"Like I said before there isn't a lot of people I trust around here besides you. Thanks for standing up for me last night." Damon said genuinely smiling at her making her give a small smile back. "So lets skip the grill today, are you up for a road trip?" Damon quickly added.

"Road trip? Um.." Sarah said not really interested.

"Come on, it will be fun." Damon said walking towards the front door.

"I don't know. I don't think so." Sarah said trying to come up with an excuse.

"Your coming and I'll make sure you have fun. So baby bro, where is everyone?" Damon dismissed and then asked Stefen while walking into the house with Sarah.

"At Elena's, waiting for you. Guess you both patched things up that was quick." Stefan asked confused looking at her.

"Why wouldn't we? And since their waiting for us we should leave." Damon said placing his arm on her shoulder and smiled when she didn't try to push him off.

"She's going?" Stefan asked confused.

"Of course she is." He immediately retorted.

"You both know, I'm here. Right?" Sarah asked exasperated that they were ignoring.

"Sorry but why would you want to go. You really don't have to be involved in this." Stefan said politely while Damon glared at him.

"I don't mind." Sarah said reluctantly shaking her head.

"Of course she wouldn't, she can't say no to this face." Damon retorted pursing his lips making her smile at him.

"You really love yourself, don't you." Sarah said amused as Stefan frowned looking at them, he never saw Damon comfortable with anyone before not even Katherine, he thought to himself.

"Now lets go meet Alaric and Elena before she gives me those doe eyes." Damon said holding her hand, dragging her with him towards the front door.

"Doe eyes?" Sarah questioned walking with him as Stefan reluctantly walked behind them.

"You know how she always looks at me, like I shot Bambi's mom or something." Damon said dramatically like he was cursed making her lip twitch.

They were now standing outside Elena's house besides Alaric's car while Stefan was inside letting her know that we were waiting for them. Alaric soon walked out of the door with Stefan and Elena not too far behind him.

"Ready to go?" Alaric asked them, Damon nodded at him as he got into the car while Stefan and Elena were still on her porch whispering amongst each other.

"What's with them?" Sarah asked confused trying to eavesdrop but they were too far away.

"They don't trust you so they're having a little debate right now figuring out what they should do." Damon muttered leaning on Alaric's car staring at them.

"Maybe I shouldn't come. Stefan obviously doesn't want me to and now her too." Sarah whispered to him irritated.

"Nope, your coming, their idiots. Ignore them." Damon reassured with a smile pulling her besides him.

"Damon, I'm serious. I don't want this trip to be uncomfortable." She said looking towards them who were still whispering.

"It won't be so get in the car before I drag you in." Damon dismissed quickly making her roll her eyes but before she could respond again, Stefan interrupted her with Elena tagging along besides him.

"Are you guys ready to go? I unfortunately won't be joining you since I'll be helping Caroline control her bloodlust." Stefan said glancing at Sarah, she wondered if he heard her.

"Great, so it'll just be the four of us. Sorry you can't come too, Stef." Damon taunted him with a smirk.

"Call me if you need anything." Stefan said to Elena ignoring him, she nodded reassuringly in response.

"Oh, I'll take really good care of her." Damon smirked happily but it was soon wiped off when Elena grabbed Stefan's neck and kissed him. Damon stiffened besides Sarah which didn't go unnoticed by her. She suddenly felt a pang go through her feeling his hurt but wondered why he always tried to lean in and kiss her when he clearly cared for Elena. There was no way she was going to be stuck with them the entire day and survive, she thought to herself right before Damon spoke again. "Okay, time to go."

"Actually, I just remembered. I have plans so I'm going to pass." Sarah said quickly turning to leave but Damon grabbed her arm stalling her.

"I know your not really busy so your coming." Damon said pulling her back towards him as Stefan and Elena watched them argue.

"I am, there's uh this party thing at the um the..." Sarah tried to defend herself remembering some party going on at some lake that Dana mentioned at school when she invited her to tag along but her mind seemed to be drawing a blank as to where it was.

"The Watering Hole." Stefan interupted adding, he smiled amused watching her desperately trying to escape from this road trip.

"Exactly, the Watering Hole." Sarah said trying to pull her arm away from his grip but he just held on glaring at her.

"You don't even know where it is." Damon said irritated that she was bailing while Stefan and Elena looked genuinely amused for the first time.

"Well I'm sure I can get someone to take me there and besides I'm new here I should be exploring, making friends like at this party. It's the perfect opportunity, I can't miss it." Sarah said sarcastically not trying to hide the fact that she wasn't interested in going with them or the party for that matter.

"Don't worry, Damon. I'll watch out for her since Caroline will be going too. I'll make sure to keep her on her toes." Stefan added holding in his laugh looking at his brother scowl at him.

"Anyways see you later." Sarah said awkwardly walking away from them but Damon suddenly appeared in front of her.

"What are you doing? Your suppose to be having fun rocking the road with me. You don't even want to go to that stupid party." Damon hissed irritated.

"Well I rather lose myself in a crowd full of mindless teens than endure the tension I'm going to feel sitting in that car with you and Elena. Maybe this is a chance for you to sort out your feelings and If you didn't notice already I can read people's emotions so sitting in that car is literally going to be torture for me." Sarah hissed back at him while she saw Elena getting into the car with Alaric.

"I don't have feelings for her." Damon weakly defended.

"Really, you say you know me so well but you do realise I know you too, Damon. So don't waste your time lying to me." Sarah said swallowing a bout of hurt, she didn't realise she had knowing he loved Elena.

"Fine. But stay away from the Lockwood boys." Damon said reluctantly walking off towards Alaric's car.

Sarah was sitting at the grill skimming through the menu realising she had to walk all the way back to her estate since she didn't bring her car with her. She groaned cursing herself for not driving when someone sat in the seat in front of her.

"Why are you here? I know you don't trust me and I don't need a babysitter to watch out for me either so why don't you just leave me alone." Sarah said looking down at the menu not bothering to look up at him.

"Look we got off on the wrong foot here but I would really like to start fresh and hopefully maybe even become friends." Stefan said sincerely making her look up at him.

"Why?" Sarah asked frowning.

"Because like you said, your new here and you need friends that you can rely on besides Damon and I can see your not psychotic like my brother is even though you did threaten to kill me." Stefan said smiling being friendly.

"To be fair you did attack me first. You didn't really expect me to be all chummy with you after that, did you?" Sarah said flatly making him smile sheepishly at her reluctantly nodding in agreement.

"Your right, so what do you say. Hello, I'm Stefan Salvatore." Stefan said raising his hand to her smiling.

"Sarah Layton. I'm new here." She said humouring him as she lightly took his hand and shook it. She could sense his genuinity which made her smile at him.

"And I'm Caroline." Caroline chirped sliding besides her startling them but Sarah soon recovered.

"It's nice to meet you too, Caroline." Sarah said watching her sipping the large soda in her hand.

"You too. So can we go yet. I want to see Matt." She responded cheerfully.

"Sure. Are you ready to go, Sarah?" Stefan asked smiling at her.

"Uh go where?" She asked confused.

"The Watering Hole, duh." Caroline said smiling while constantly sipping the soda like it was human blood.

"Oh, I was just kidding. I wasn't really going to go to that party." Sarah said quickly.

"But you have to come with us. It'll be like our bonding thing as friends." Caroline said a bit hyper for her to handle.

"It's really not my thing." She said softly hoping they'd understand.

"Then we can share our mutual hatred for mindless teens while Caroline stalks Matt." Stefan said getting up smiling amused at Caroline.

"I'm not stalking him, I'm just taking an interest in what's mine." She defended calmly making Sarah smile at her antics. "Let's just hurry we don't want to be late." Caroline said pulling her towards the exit before she could protest.

They were now at the Watering Hole standing near the beer barrel, Caroline was constantly complaining about some girl who was flirting with Matt while Stefan tried to get her to dial down her emotions which she was thankful for because it was beginning to get to her even though she tried to push it out of her mind.

"So mindless teens, I guess you did hear me." Sarah asked casually making conversation.

"Yeah, it was kind of hard not to." Stefan said as Caroline went over to interrupt Matt.

"Aren't you worried your brother is going to try and steal your girlfriend?" Sarah asked confused looking at Caroline and Matt argue after she compelled the girl who was flirting to leave.

"No, not at all. I know Elena and I trust her. How about you, aren't you worried about the same thing?" Stefan asked curious about her feelings for Damon.

"I'm not, why would I be worried?" Sarah tried to say it as convincing as possible.

"I just thought you liked him. Come on." Stefan said distractedly stalking towards Caroline before she could deny it. She was about to walk towards them when someone stood in front of her blocking her path.

"Hey Sarah, Glad you could make it." Tyler stood there grinning and stepping closer to her.

"Yeah, I'm glad too." Sarah responded reluctantly smiling at him as he continued to stare at her as if he was in some trance.

"Wanna join me in the water?" Tyler asked hopefully.

"Sorry but I didn't bring a bathing suit." Sarah said apologetically but was really glad she had an excuse not to join him that was until Caroline interrupted them with Stefan.

"I have an extra bikini in my bag, you can have it." Caroline said cheerfully handing her bag over to her winking at Sarah. She internally groaned at her for not getting the fact that she didn't want to go with Tyler as Stefan smiled at her mockingly earning him a glare. "The black one will be perfect for you." She added softly making Sarah give her a forced smile at her bleakness.

"Thanks." Sarah muttered as Tyler pulled her towards to a secluded place where the girls could change behind a large tree. She quickly took of her clothes off cursing herself for not leaving sooner as she pulled out the black bikini from the bag, she frowned noticing how skimpy it was. She reluctantly put it on and pushed her clothes into the bag and stepped out from behind the tree as Tyler looked at her body grinning, his eyes were glazed making her frown in confusion.

"You look amazing, Lets hit the water." He said and walked over to her, pulling her by the waist towards the water, she tossed the bag in the back of Matt's truck as she passed it on her way to the water. Caroline smiled widely at them making her momentarily distracted before she was suddenly lifted by Tyler and felt herself soon hitting the water. She swam to the surface and then towards a rocky base while Tyler swam towards her smiling. She felt a pull under her fingers, turning around she noticed a old jagged rock before she was suddenly pulled into a memory.

She was standing at the edge of a small familiar lake pulling off her gown yearning for a swim to escape the penetrating heat. She slowing tipped her foot into the water and quickly submerged her body to cool herself in relief. She was swimming on her back admiring the light blue sky when a flutter of water splashing caught her attention. She turned around covering herself frowning at her surroundings, nobody knew about this lake, atleast that was what she had thought. She decided to get her clothes and leave and began swimming towards it when she felt somebody put their arms around her waist making her scream and turn around. She was met with a familiar set of deep blue eyes making her exhale in relief. She covered her chest with one arm and began hitting him continuously with the other while he laughed avoiding her attempt to injure him.

"Love, it's only me. Do you really think I'd let you wander into the woods by yourself." He spoke grinning at her angry pouted face.

"You could have made yourself known earlier." She said irritated for being so naive and began to swim away from him uncomfortably after noticing that he wasn't wearing any clothes either.

"But where's the fun in that. Darling don't leave." He said quickly swimming after her and soon grabbed her holding her close to his chest.

"Nik, what are you doing? If you haven't noticed yet. I'm not wearing any clothes and neither are you atleast allow me get my chemise and then we can swim together." She said trying to cover herself embarrassed while he just held on to her waist with her back facing his chest.

"I've definitely noticed, love. You look beautiful, you know you don't have to hide from me. I love you." Niklaus muttered kissing her collar trailing up her neck holding her tightly as she felt his body pressed against hers.

"Nik, stop we can't. Rebekah will be looking for me, she's waiting for me to return so we could go to the market together." She said shutting her eyes when his hands trailed up her chest as he began kissing the sweet spot on her neck.

"Then we'll hide so she can't find us." He reluctantly spoke pulling away, his voice strained and grabbed her arm pulling her towards a rocky bed at the edge of the lake.

"She would still find us here, Nik." She said and tried to swim away but he quickly pulled her back towards him kissing her lips wildly, cupping her face as he pressed her back towards the rock. She moaned as his tongue teased her mouth, she could feel his body pressed against her when suddenly a sharp pain went through her back forcing her to push him off.

"Nik, stop." She whispered breathless but he continued to kiss her jaw and neck trailing downwards but she put her hand softly on his chest gaining his attention.

"What is it, love?" He husked out, his eyes heavily laced with lust while he stared at her lovingly.

"The rocks are hurting my back." She said softly but he didn't relent and just pulled her towards him hugging her while she put her arms around his neck holding him close. He began turning them so his back faced the rocks as she blushed feeling their bodies pressed against each other.

"Better?" He said clearly uncomfortable but was still grinning at her with assurance.

"Nik, your clearly in pain. Come on, we can spend tonight at our secret cave." She said pulling away but before she could turn around. He pulled her roughly back to his chest startling her.

"I need this, I need you. Please." He whispered in her ear, she could hear the desperation in his voice. She knew it could only mean one thing 'Mikael'.

"What happened, Nik? What has he done?" She asked softly concerned and slightly pulled away so she could see his face but he avoided her gaze kissing her shoulder instead.

"It's nothing. I don't want to ruin our time speaking of him. Just make me forget." Niklaus said looking at her eyes desperately and she couldn't resist not helping him. She pulled him towards her kissing him passionately on his lips grazing his hair with her fingers while he immediately responded pinning her body to his, losing himself in her touch. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he broke free from her lips and began kissing her neck and chest, she gasped feeling his lips on her sensitive skin while his hand trailed down lower. She grabbed onto the rock behind him as he held her close still kissing her while settling against her. finally feeling the burst of pure ecstasy of being united together.

"I love you so much, Sarah. I'd rather die than live without you in my life." Niklaus whispered passionately cupping her neck so that her eyes were locked with his as he felt her body tremble against his knowing happily that he was responsible for it. She couldn't responded back to his words, she was too lost drowning in all the sensations her body felt. She kiss him while gasping hard as her fingers began scraping furiously against his back and then the rock behind him trying to prevent herself from screaming out as their hearts raced to reach the height of their passion together. She pulled away slightly to kiss him showing him how much she loved him when a beach ball suddenly hit them breaking them apart, her vision immediately went blurry as the water splashed her face but she could still felt the hum of pleasure inside her. She looked up after her vision had cleared suprised and disappointed to see Tyler in front of her instead.

"Wow, that was some kiss. Your an incredible kisser." He whispered snaking his arm around her waist kissing her but she felt cold and alone inside wanting to feel what she felt moments ago. She pulled away when a camera flash went off and turned to look at Caroline who was holding her cellphone up smiling at them. It was getting dark and she could hear Tyler yelling at everyone to go home as she looked at the rock curiously.

"I want to show you something cool." Tyler said smiling at her pulling her out of the thoughts.

"Okay, well let me change real quick." She said reluctantly smiling feeling awkward since they kissed when she clearly thought he was someone else, Tyler just nodded and swam away to tell everyone to leave. Sarah got out of the water and walked over towards Matt's truck to pull out her clothes but Caroline stopped her.

"You don't need to change here take my shorts and I'm sure you can get Tyler to give you one of his shirts." She said handing her some shorts which Sarah quickly took feeling too exposed. "He's mad at me." Caroline added looking at Matt pass by while Stefan was on his phone with Elena.

"Well why don't you go talk to him, you know explain how you feel." Sarah said distractedly pulling on the shorts and grabbing her phone.

"Yeah, your right I should. Oh, and your phone has been going off nonstop. I put my number in there too, so we can hang out." She spoke smiling but before Sarah could respond Tyler put his jacket over her shoulders as Caroline winked at her leaving them alone making her roll her eyes in irritation. Why does everyone think i'm into him?

"You ready?" Tyler said grabbing her hand pulling her towards the woods as she shoved her phone in her pocket.

"Where are we going?" She asked stumbling a little but Tyler held her up and chuckled.

"There's a bunch of ruins beneath my family's estate." He said nodding for her to walk through the entrance while he quickly followed her. She walked towards one wall seeing nail marks all over the place. It made her feel suddenly uncomfortable when she saw some chains on the floor.

"Cool isn't it." Tyler said standing behind her.

"Yeah, it's really interesting." Sarah said turning her attention to him.

"I know but your way cooler. Your not like any other girl I've met before." Tyler said touching her face pulling her to him so he could kiss her again but she quickly pushed him away lightly.

"I'm sorry, Tyler but I think we should get back." She said as she turned and tripped on a rock grazing her knee. She hissed sitting up as a little blood oozed out but what really caught her attention was Tyler suddenly appearing in front of her looking too intently at her cut like he was a vampire but he couldn't be she was sure of it. Her scent she quickly realised, no wonder he had been following her around like a puppy only the supernatural could sense her scent that's why he looks like he's in some kind of trance everytime they meet. She suddenly grabbed his arm getting his attention as her eyes turned pale green. "Forget my scent." Sarah quickly compelled him letting her eyes fall back to her normal blue ones.

"Wow, are you okay?" Tyler asked back to his normal self.

"Uh yeah, it doesn't really hurt." Sarah said relieved that he wasn't acting strange anymore. Suddenly her phone when off as she stood up, she pulled it out from her pocket picking up.

"Hello?" Sarah said quickly.

"Why the hell haven't you been answering your phone." Damon yelled over the phone making her pull it away.

"Why are you calling? I'm kind of busy." Sarah said ignoring his question.

"I told you to stay away from that punk not lock lips with him." Damon shouted again.

"How did you even know about that? If that's the reason you called I'll talk to you later." Sarah said loudly back at him since he didn't bother enough to lower his voice, she smirked hearing him hiss over the line.

"It's the full moon, the lockwoods and that includes your little boyfriend Tyler are werewolves. So get the hell home before you get hurt." Damon said frustrated.

"What?" Sarah asked whispering.

"He's with you right now, isn't he?" Damon said quickly realising.

"Yes." Sarah confirmed looking at Tyler who was looking around waiting for her to finish her conversation.

"Are you alone?" Damon asked paniced.

"Yes." Sarah whispered tense, still keeping her eyes on Tyler.

"Get out and find Stefan. Act normal and keep me on the phone..." Damon said frantically but Sarah cut him off.

"I'll talk to you when I get home." She said hanging up and switching off her phone. No matter what happened to her she didn't want Damon to hear her get killed that would have been to cruel to do to him.

"Maybe we should head back, it's getting late." Sarah said calmly

"We can stay, I like hanging out with you." Tyler said walking towards her and leaning in to kiss her again.

"Sorry, Tyler but I only see you as a friend." Sarah said stopping him from approaching her.

"What about that kiss in the lake?" Tyler asked confused.

"I was just fooling around. I'm sorry, can we go back." Sarah said awkwardly. Tyler sighed nodding his head and walked out while she quickly followed him. They were walking back when they hear some glass shatter, they frowned looking at each other. She ran towards that direction after hearing Stefan's voice. Tyler yelled at her to wait but she didn't after hearing him run after her. She stopped in front of a car seeing a large wolf growling at Stefan and Caroline when it's head snapped to her and began stalking towards her instead staring at her leg which was dripping with blood forcing her to step back quickly but it suddenly grunted and jumped on her making her scream falling to the ground but before she could flick her wrist to shove him off with her mind. Stefan soon pulled it off her but it quickly got to it's feet and began running towards her again but this time Tyler jumped in front of her. "No...!" He yelled making the wolf hault growling and fled away from them.

"Are you two alright?" Sarah asked walking towards Stefan and Caroline. He just nodded while Caroline hugged her, she could feel her panicing.

"I'm fine. I need to get back to Matt." Caroline said frantically.

"Okay, we will." Sarah responded trying to calm her down but she began crying on her shoulder.

"I bit him, I can't be with him. I can't control myself. I love him, I don't want to hurt him." Caroline said softly as Stefan spoke to Tyler. Sarah couldn't block her emotions quick enough and felt her eyes start to tear up.

"Don't worry. Everything will be fine. It will take some time for you to control yourself but you'll get there. You'll be with him." Sarah whisperered knowing she could hear her.

"I need to get to him." Caroline said nodding.

"Tyler, why don't you go home. I'll drop them off." Stefan said walking away from him while Caroline followed.

"Tyler, Thanks for jumping in front of me, noone would have done what you did, so thank you." Sarah said before leaving him after seeing him nod at her. Sarah caught up to Stefan and Caroline who was waiting for her. Caroline quickly grabbed Sarah's hand and suddenly appeared in front of Matt's lying form. She stepped back giving her some privacy to do what she needed to as Stefan appeared besides her.

"You Okay?" He asked staring at her but she only nodded at him. "You were crying when Caroline was loosing it tonight. Why? You just met her today." Stefan asked confused.

"What can I say? I'm a pretty emotional person." Sarah replied avoiding his gaze.

"You can talk to me. Your secret would be safe with me." Stefan reassured her but she just shook her head.

"It's not a big deal, I can get in touch with everyoone's emotions." She muttered staring at Caroline.

"Like you did when I attacked you?" Stefan asked frowning.

"Yeah, exactly like that, I should get going." She said turning to leave.

"I'll drop you off before Damon blows up my phone too." Stefan assured her.

"You don't have to, I can find my way." Sarah reassured and began walking away but he quickly grabbed her arm stopping her.

"There's a werewolf out there who's probably going insane over your scent. I think it would be safer if I dropped you off." Stefan said concerned.

"I'm really fine, Stefan. I can take care of myself and aren't you tempted too since I'm bleeding." Sarah said frowning at him.

"Believe me. I am but the urge to see you safe outweighs my urge to drain you right now but here you should cover it before Caroline senses it, right now she's too distracted by Matt to notice." Stefan said giving her his handkerchief.

"Thanks." Sarah said wrapping it around her calf.

"Look, I know you don't like anyone knowing where you live so why don't you stay over at the boarding house tonight and leave in the morning. You really don't want to be roaming in the woods on a full moon." Stefan pleaded once again and she was about to protest when Caroline interrupted them.

"Stefan's right. You shouldn't risk it. Lets go." Caroline dismissed the conversation holding up Matt. Stefan nodded and looked at Sarah who reluctantly agreed following them.

Sarah was at the boarding house lying on the couch in front of the fireplace as Stefan walked towards her smiling.

"You know you can sleep in one of the guest rooms. It's not like it's a full house."

"It's fine. I use to love sleeping here as a kid, it made me feel less alone. Zach use to sleep on the floor with me, he didn't want to leave me by myself. " Sarah said smiling then frowned realising it had been a while since she thought about him.

"Sounds like fun. Don't you get lonely now that your always by yourself." Stefan asked sitting on the armchair besides the couch.

"I'm use to it." Sarah muttered shrugging her shoulders and closing her eyes, she didn't feel comfortable talking about her past.

"You know, you can always talk to me if you need someone to hear you out." Stefan said smiling getting up not wanting to intrude.

"Thanks, I'll remember that." Sarah said yawning genuinely thankful that he wasn't pushing her to say something.

"You get some sleep. I'll see you in the morning. Good Night." Stefan said walking out of the house hearing her mutter a 'Good Night' to him snuggling into the couch making him smile at her amused.

Damon bursted through the doors frustrated and went straight towards the bar. Why did he always feel like crap after meeting Elena? He knew it was only because it reminded him of how Katherine use to treat him all those decades ago. Today was the perfect opportunity to get close to Elena but all he could think about was Sarah. It only got worst after Elena had shown him that picture of her and Tyler making out at the lake. What's wrong with me? Do I still love her? He asked himself while filling his glass with bourbon when suddenly a familiar intoxicating scent made him frown confused. He quickly turned around and almost dropped his glass seeing Sarah sleeping peacefully on the couch. He walked towards her relieved she was safe crouching in front of her. He really did love her he thought to himself stroking her hair and smiled when she leaned into his touch. He put his arms under her and lifted her close to his chest quickly disappearing to his room.
