Rin shifted her body comfortably in her sleep, her head leaning in closer to whatever it was that was holding her warmly. She inhaled deeply, loving the deep scent that rolled off of the object. Her eyes opened slowly refusing the light that tried to enter, rubbing her lids sleepily she yawned and stretched a bit before trying to lean up on her forearms. She stopped unable to raise her torso from her lying position. Blinking a few more times focusing from her sleep, she looked at what restricted her and had to stifle a gasp at what she saw.

Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru and her. Sesshomaru and her lying. on his couch! His arms wrapped tightly around her waist, her form was blocked between his and the back of the couch.

Blushing hard she tried to remember how they had gotten into this predicament. She remembered they were watching tv, then the lights went out, and when she got up to look outside at the storm he had...

He had kissed her, her face turned even darker at the memory. How could this have happened?

They were only friends. She only knew so much about him, and yet here they are in this way too intimate position. Luckily she remembered after their kiss he dragged her down to the couch and they just fell asleep, breathing a sigh of relief, or was it disappointment? Was she disappointed that nothing happened?

She shook her head profusely. 'No, definitely not,' she thought. She knew she couldn't feel anything more than this. she wouldn't allow it, she didn't want to ruin a good friendship because she was selfish enough to think it could be something more. 'Yes that's right' he wouldn't want anything like that with her anyway. He just had too much wine the night before and wasn't thinking straight.

She calmed herself down, the color returning to her cheeks, she ignored the sting in her chest at these thoughts.

Rin looked over at the clock on the wall. 6:30 it read. She widened her eyes.

'I'll be late for work,' holding her breath she looked down at the demon.

'Should I wake him,' She thought. Imagining what he would say if he woke seeing them like this, her face paled.

'No, I shouldn't,' She couldn't help but fear what he would say if her suspicions were confirmed. He would be furious at her and tell her to get out most likely. She wouldn't be able to handle it if that was the case. No it would be best for her to go before he wakes, before he sees her, before he thinks that anything had happened, before he remembered what had already happened.

Rin placed her small hand on his arm trying to remove it gently from her waist. In response the arm only tightened its hold on her pulling her upper body back down towards the cushion of the couch.

Rin squeaked lightly at this sudden movement, her hands coming up to bar her from his torso trying helplessly to gain some distance.

The demon only turning more in his sleep towards her frame, practically laying on top of her now, his head coming to rest at the crook of her neck. Rin, feeling his steady breaths on her neck, squeezed her eyes shut in embarrassment. Holding her breath shep shifted again skillfully with as much strength as she could she pushed against the hard chest effectively flipping their positions.

Then taking both clawed hands into her own she laid them back down on the owners chest carefully as she got up from the couch. She looked at him again taking in his features carefully. His calm expression and demonic markings, he was truly very handsome. Forcing herself to turn away she headed towards the hall looking for some kind of clue as to where her clothes were, still being dressed in Sesshomaru's spare.

Looking outside the front door she saw them neatly folded in a paper bag clean and ironed. Swiftly changing in the nearest bathroom, she checked to make sure Sesshomaru was still asleep before quietly slipping out the front door.

"Rin, where have you been?"

The girl in question peered up after she stepped off the elevator and onto her floor.

"Sorry Kagome I woke up later than usual today," Rin hurried to her desk followed by her friend.

"Geez I was scared you weren't going to show up, and today's an important day for us too," Kagome placed her hands on her hips surprised at Rins messy appearance, her friend usually being one to show up looking neat and professional.

Rin sat in her office chair leaning back and taking in a deep breath trying not to rethink the events that had unfolded last night. Instead opting to stare out the office windows.

"I'm sorry, I've just been a bit distracted lately," Kagome noticed Rin's face turn a slight pink. Immediately figuring out the reason as to why she couldn't help but hold back a smile,"Who is he Rin?"

Rin's head snapped up from where she was seated, staring at her friend who now had a wide grin on her face and a mischievous shine to her eyes. "W-What do you mean?" She choked out gulping hard hoping she hadn't been figured out.

"You know what I mean, you're blushing like crazy right now it has to be because of someone." Kagome leaned in close to Rin so only she could hear. "Is it kohaku?" in reaction Rin couldn't help but blush harder she shook her head immediately as a no. Kagome frowned in a pout and plopped down in her chair next to Rin, obviously disappointed.

"Well then who is it," Kagome demanded crossing her arms over her chest, growing impatient. Her co-worker on the other hand didn't know what to do. Tell the truth? Lie? knowing how determined she was Rin doubted she'd be able to escape unscathed. she put her hands up in front of her hoping for mercy.

"Kagome please, I can't tell you," with that Rin watched the girls eyes grow into saucers, her reply blatantly sparking the brunettes over active imagination. Slowly Kagome brought a hand to the side of her mouth. "My my Rin what have you been up to?" Kagome smirked devilishly.

Rin jolted up causing a few eyes to glance her way. Her face was entirely red and her mouth was open in shock and embarrassment. "I-I-" Rin tried to retort but was cut off by their boss before she could, "Oi, Aren't you two supposed to be headed to the proposal meeting for the company?"

Both women turned to their boss nodding in agreement before packing to leave.

heading into the elevator Kagome glanced at Rin, "Don't think you've escaped me just yet," Rin smiled gently at her friend pressing the glowing button for the garage.

I just hope I don't have to think about Sesshomaru for the rest of the day.

Sesshomaru on the other hand could only think about one thing since that morning.

Rin. Where had she gone? He had awoken alone sleeping on his couch wrapped in her fading scent. At first he had panicked, he could feel his demon whining at the loss and pushing him to find her. The beautiful woman's absence causing a burning sensation in his stomach. After a few moments he had calmed down, 'Did I frighten her,' He thought bringing a hand to his chin in thought.

Last night he had kissed her so abruptly even he was shocked by his actions. When he had looked into her eyes he had spotted the tears beginning to form in her eyes and the pained look she wore on her face. He had felt his heart swell in his chest at the sight, not knowing what to do his instinct had overtaken his body as he pulled her close. The feel of her small frame against his was beyond words, never before had he felt so alive, with her tucked into his arms.

However, waking up that morning alone and without her had hurt far more than he could have imagined. Her presence had brought such warmth and comfort, and as a result her absence had brought twice as much emptiness and pain. Not long after he awoke his brother had contacted him on his phone reminding him of the important meeting occurring today.

Currently he was still thinking about Rin and where she had disappeared to. He felt so helpless when it came to his intended mate. He knew barely anything about her, Where she was born, How old she was, What her phone number was.

Sesshomaru growled to himself as he walked down the office halls, steering clear of everyone in his away. He had to see her again he'd go crazy if he didn't, maybe he could try to get off work early and try to find her at the boardwalk. He'd be casual approaching her, ask her to dinner, ask her some personal questions, claim her as his mate. Sesshomaru smirked arriving at the large meeting room, his demon nodding in agreement at his last suggestion.

"Well aren't you in a good mood today." Inutaisho stated as he entered the meeting room and sat a few spaces away from his son. "Tch, none of your business." Sesshomaru spat out as he placed his chin in his hand, in no mood for his fathers games, especially not after last night.

"Hm, Are you this way by chance because of a lady?" Inutaisho joked expecting to see his son immediately deny him. To this he watched his son turn a slight red and turn away from him hiding his eyes. Inutaisho's eyes widened quickly becoming shocked he had guessed correctly. He easily regained his composure smirking in the direction of his eldest son, he narrowed his eyes and slid a bit closer in his chair. "Sooo," He hummed enthusiastically, "Who is she?" Inutaisho began to feel his cheeks ache from his wide smile.

Sesshomaru just sat there unsure of what to do. He watched his father grow closer, his face like that of an idiots, He was sure his face would crack if he smiled any more.

"I-I Have no idea what you are referring to." Sesshomaru chocked out sitting up straight and looking nonchalantly out the window. "It's too late for that now Sesshomaru, you know i'll find out about her eventually," By now Inutaisho was practically hovering over his son, arms blocking any chance of escape. Before anything else could happen a knock at the door gained the attention of both demons.

"Pardon me sirs but the reps from the design company are here to propose the new project,"

Both Taishos composed themselves immediately taking their places in their chairs and opening their folders and forms. "Yes, of course thank you hanada. You can send everyone in now." Inutaisho cleared his throat his former playfulness replaced with seriousness. Quickly the room became filled with other men and women in suits. they all hurriedly took their seats and unpacked their brief cases.

"Ladies and gentlemen of Taisho industries, today we will start our planning for renovating our new company building in preparation for our 30 year anniversary," Inutaisho started, gaining the attention of everyone in the room. Except, that is, for Sesshomaru who suddenly became concentrated on something else.

Sesshomaru could feel his demon begin to pace back and forth growling softly in his chest. The faintest whiff of Rins scent reached his nose. He sat frozen in his chair everything else faded away as he concentrated on her scent, growing closer.

She's here

His heart began to thump erratically.

Sesshomaru could feel her growing closer to the room. What was she doing here? by now he could here her footsteps outside the room. It took all he had to not jump up and run to hold her. His fathers words chimed in as he saw the door open.

"Today we have two reps from the Yamato design co. To propose some ideas for the new building, we will decide later on whether we will sign them on to a contract to carry out the renovations," Inutaisho gestured to the open door allowing a young woman he knew as inuyashas mate and Rin to enter.

"Ms. Higurashi, Ms. Takemura if you please,"

Both women entered the room and took a deep bow before introducing themselves. Sesshomaru's eyes were glued to Rin from the moment she entered. when she straightened up from her bow their eyes met and she immediately paled, her words becoming stuck in her throat.

Sesshomaru on the other hand couldn't help but smile at the sight of her, how cute and flustered she looked.

Inutaisho noticing the situation looked to his genuinely smiling son, then back to the confused girl who seemed like she could faint at any second. He felt it hard to hide a smile himself.

'This should be interesting,'
