So I have this really weird cannon that Willa and Amanda have a special bond that's completely unbreakable and that they'd do anything for each other no matter what.
PLEASE READ THE AUTHOR's NOTE AT THE END.
"In other news, the Kingdom Keepers have successfully saved us—"
"Boring..."
"Well, it seems like things might be turning around for Imagineers—"
"Nope."
"Walt Disney World, where dreams come—"
"Please don't..."
"Wills? Why don't we turn the tv off and go do something, oh I don't know, productive?"
Willa slowly looked over at her roommate and turned the tv off, placing the remote on the coffee table. "Amanda, it's summer. I really don't feel like doing anything. Especially after that whole encounter with Spencer the other day."
Amanda sighed. "You're still bummed about Charlie and Jess moving in together, huh?"
Willa shrugged. "It's not the fact that they moved in together...it's that...we had talked about moving in with each other since the day we graduated from middle school."
Amanda placed a hand on her back and moved it up and down slowly. "It's okay, hun. None of us expected this. I know you two were really close, but apparently she and Jess were closer. In a more serious matter than just friends."
Willa nodded. "I know."
Amanda thought for a second before deciding to mess with Willa a little. "So I guess I'm not good enough for you, huh?"
Willa's head shot in her direction. "What? Manda, I never said that."
"It was implied..."
"Was not." Willa crossed her arms. "I'll have you know, I absolutely love sharing an apartment with you, Amanda. You're quiet, funny, organized." She leaned back against the couch cushions.
Amanda laughed and looped her arm around her friend. "I wish I could say the same." She smirked as she received a playful shove from the girl next to her.
"Not nice!"
Amanda laughed. "Hey I think you got an email or something." She motioned to Willa's laptop on the coffee table with her chin.
"Ew...it's probably the university."
Amanda mock gasped. "You, Willa Angelo, are—dare I say it?—tired of school?"
"Hey. Shh." Willa laughed and picked up the computer. She opened her email and was silent for a while. Her hands balled into fists and started shaking. Her breathing became unsteady as she tried to remove the laptop from her legs.
"Willa?" Amanda said. "Wills?" She tried again.
"Will you, uh...ex-excuse me for a moment-t?" She placed the computer on the couch next to where she was sitting and stood up, running down the hall to her room.
Amanda got a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. Like something was going to happen that she was going to regret. Hesitantly, she picked up the laptop and read through the email.
Willa—the loser—Angelo,
I'm not giving a proper into because you should already know it's me. Do you remember that thing we talked about the other day when we ran into each other at the mall? About how the world would be such a better place if you just killed yourself and left us all? Yeah, well, I'm just reminding you that when I said that...I meant it. You're a loser who has nothing to live for. A nobody. A—
She couldn't go on. It was too painful. And it wasn't even directed at her. She skipped to the end of the message.
Don't forget to tell your slutt of a roommate she can kill herself too. She's slept with enough guys to last her a lifetime. Se should be fine.
As always,
Victoria Houston
Amanda suddenly became terrified. She could care less about what Victoria said about her. It was what she had said about Willa that terrified her. She knew Willa had really bad anxiety. She believed things people told her that she shouldn't. And if Victoria told her she should kill herself...
"Willa?!" Amanda jumped to her feet and raced down the hallway finding Willa's door at the end. "Willa?" She tried the doorknob, but it was locked. "Willa!" She yelled banging on the door. When the door remained locked and closed, Amanda searched frantically for something—anything—to pick the lock.
Of course!
Amanda ran into her room and picked up a bobby pin from her bedside table. She ran back to Willa's door and jammed the thing into the lock hole. She moved it around and jiggled it until she heard a faint click. Amanda threw the door open and froze. She stood, staring, for a minute before taking action.
"Willa..." She ran up to the sobbing girl in the middle of the room. "Willa, give me the knife. Come on, hun. Give it to me." Willa turned her head away from Amanda as she handed her the knife.
"I'm sorry..." She whispered. "I'm sorry..."
Amanda placed the knife on Willa's desk and grabbed her arms. She inspected them and saw no sign of self inflicted harm upon her them. She had gotten there just in time. Amanda looked at Willa's face and saw pure terror, but also anger. Amanda let go of her right arm and placed that hand on the side of Willa's face. She let out a sigh of relief as she pulled her into a hug. Willa broke down and sobbed. Her tears stained Amanda's shoulder as her knees went weak and she fell. Amanda picked her up and sat on Willa's bed while holding her close. She rubbed Willa's arms and kissed the side of her forehead.
"Ama-manda..." Willa gasped between sobs.
"Hey...it's okay." Amanda whispered.
"S-she told me to...to..."
"I know, hun, I know."
"I just thought that...that since she t-told me to...to—"
"No. Don't listen to her. She doesn't know what she's talking about. If Willa Angelo killed herself, who would I complain to? Who would help me through those rough times? Who would be my girlfriend?"
"But, Amanda—"
"Sh. Willa listen to me and believe me when I say that if you took your life, I'd be devastated. More than anyone else. More than Philby. More than Charlene. You're just that special to me, okay? No matter what anyone says, you should only do what you know is right. And I know you know what the right thing to do is. You've made the right decisions you're whole life. So I'm going to say it again: please don't—"
"Amanda?"
"Hm?"
"Just shut up an come closer." Amanda smiled and leaned down, capturing Willa in a tight hug. She closed her eyes and took in everything. Willa's presence. Her smell. The way she took small breaths. Her arms around Amanda's body.
"Willa...I just...You're just too important to me to lose and—"
"Hey, I'll always be right here." Willa said moving onto the bed and off of Amanda. She grabbed her hand and held it tight. "I'm sorry I scared you. It's just that Victoria's been giving me a hard time ever since I ran into her a few weeks ago and I've just been thinking about—"
"About how things would be better if you weren't born? Or alive?"
"How'd you know?"
"I've, ah...had my share of bad thoughts." Willa gave her a small smile. "Come here you adorable person." Amanda held out her arms and Willa hugged her.
The hug lasted longer than either expected, but there was no complaint from either girl. When they pulled away, which wasn't far, they stayed silent and stared at each other. Amanda smiled, but it quickly faded. Willa smirked and moved closer slightly, her hand finding its way to the back of Amanda's neck. Amanda tilted her head to the right and odes her eyes, knowing what was happening. She let herself go and placed her hands on the sides of Willa's face, bringing her closer. As their faces became closer, Amanda found herself wanting to just pull Willa to her and finish this. She's been waiting for this for so long, but...
"Willa, what are we doing?" Amanda whispered, their faces inches apart.
"I don't know."
"Are you sure we should do this?"
Willa shook her head slightly. "I don't know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for anything to be awkward."
"It's fine. Really, it is." Amanda smoothed back Willa's hair. "I just...don't want anything to come between this bond we have. If we became...something...I don't want to mess anything up."
Willa thought for a moment and grabbed Amanda's hand. "Okay, how about this? We wait a while and see if anything changes about how we feel. If we find that those feelings are stronger than before, we can...you know."
Amanda nodded. "Yeah...sounds good.
"You seem sad."
Amanda shrugged. "I just...I don't know."
"You don't want to wait, do you?"
Amanda looked up slightly and tried to hide her red face. "Not really..." She said softly.
Willa grabbed her hand and pulled her to her feet. "Come on then."
"What are we doing?"
"Well, I don't know about you, but I'm going to spend time with my girlfriend."
Amanda laughed as she sat down on the couch. She reached for Willa's hand and pulled the girl down to where she fell on top of her. "Fancy seeing you here."
Willa leaned up and kissed Amanda's cheek. "I know right?"
"God...you have no clue how long I've been waiting for this."
"Waiting for what?"
"This." Amanda leaned down and kissed Willa softly.
Okay, so let the flaming begin. Willa and Amanda are now my otp. I was just thinking that since Jesslene happened, Amanda and Willa had started spending a lot more time together and then...you know. So yeah...go ahead and send the hate forth! I will accept it with great pride and let it fuel me!
