Later, Jim, Melinda, Payne, Delia and Eli were sitting on a big dining table in the hotel's restaurant attending a play.
"I don't get this…"-Eli shook head. "What is this play? Where's the point of falling in love, when they're both going to die in the end?"
"That's Romeo and Juliet."- Delia replied furiously. "One of the most famous plays in the world!"
"I know, but it's still complicated and meaningless…"
Eli answered, and took a sip from his wine.
"Rick, won't you get rid of that thing and enjoy the show?"- Delia asked.
"Just a second…"-he replied, but his voice wasn't honest enough.
Delia rolled eyes, and cut her turkey to smaller pieces.
"What are our plans for tomorrow?"- Jim asked.
"We're here for four days and we still haven't visited a lot of places…I suggest us to go to the pyramids tomorrow."- Delia answered.
"Yes, it'll be great."-Melinda agreed.
"So we decided."-Jim smiled.
"Wait what?"-Eli asked in wonder. "Monments? Are we at school?"
"No, but I think that you need school. It's not ,monments' it's ,monuments'."- Delia teased.
"Whatever! It's boring, let's go somewhere else…"
"A! Your ideas are always stupid, so I don't think that you'll think of something better."-Delia continued.
"Well, today I'll amaze you then!"-Eli smiled slyly, as he began searching for something in his pockets.
"Aha!"- he got a crumpled brochure, and put it on the table.
Everybody leaned on top, curiously.
"What's this?"-Melinda asked.
"Cruise on the Nile, all day long."-Eli explained jauntily.
"With included lunch and dinner, with a hint of education, and all this on a modern yacht."
"And it's free?"-Delia asked incredulous.
"Only for hotel ,Patsy' 's guests."-Eli confirmed.
"Well if somebody finds a better offer…"
"I've found it!"-Payne exclaimed.
"Really? Was that what you were doing on that phone?"-Delia asked curiously.
"I've made a suggestion once, and now…"-Eli sighed simulating sorrow.
"No I wasn't talking for this."-Payne said. "About the de.."
He stopped in the middle of the sentence seeing Melinda's expression.
"About the what?" Delia didn't understand.
"Nothing, I've found who wrote Romeo and Juliet."-he lied.
Delia rolled eyes.
"I'm wondering how both of you became professors!"
Melinda and Jim walked in their bedroom, sprawling on the bed.
"Mel is there something you want to tell me?"- Jim asked suddenly.
Melinda flinched and faced him. She knew that he'll read her.
And she understood that it was time to tell her husband what was going on.
"Yes, Jim. There's something I need you to know. There's a ghost in the hotel."
"Thought so."-Jim smirked. "But why wouldn't you tell me earlier?"
"Because, I don't want you to worry, baby."-she answered tenderly.
Jim smiled and pulled her into a warm embrace.
"I'll always worry for you Melinda."-he said, just before kissing her lips.
Just a few minutes later, knocked on the door.
Jim stood up, and opened it. It was Payne.
"Hey, I have news, about the dead c…oh, hello buddy-buddy!" he quickly changed the subject, as he noticed Jim. "What's up?"
"I know, about the ghost already."-Jim interrupted.
"Oh, thank God, you have no idea how much time you save!"- Payne said relieved, then he sat next to the couple on their bed, shutting the door.
"Alright, listen to me very carefully- it seems that with the years, I've got rusty on Egyptian beliefs…"
"Wait are you talking about the cat?"-Jim asked.
"Yes."-Payne replied.
"Why are you asking Jimmy?"-interjected Melinda.
"Well, something strange happened a few hours ago when I came to wash myself from the sand…"-he began. "Remember that you told me that you've left the corpse, in the dessert?"-Jim asked his wife.
"Yes, and what's with that?"
"Today I found it in the bathroom again. Wrapped in the papers and thought that you've forgotten it…"-Jim finished.
"Where is it now?"-Payne asked.
"It vanished."-Jim whispered.
"It vanished?"-Payne repeated in disbelief.
"Yes, that's what I've said." Jim confirmed. "When I got out of the bath it was there, and then I turned back, just for a second and it was gone."
They all felt silent looking at each other.
"A dead cat symbolizes a terrible crime."-Payne said in the end. "In ancient Egypt, if you kill a cat, you can be sure that you're gonna be beheaded."
"And what does it mean when the vision comes back?"-Melinda asked.
"I don't know, I'll need more time for reading, why do you think that it's easy to remember facts for thousand mythologies in details?"
"What about the rose?"
"I've still have nothing for it."
"What rose?"-Jim asked.
Melinda showed him the ring.
"Yes, I've noticed it, but I've forgot to ask you…"
"Yes, it was some kind of ,,present". I don't know everything is too strange…"- Melinda shrugged.
"As we all know, the ghost is very powerful." Payne began. We should open our eyes open for more signs."
He stood up.
"And remember that, you should keep me informed, for everything you hear, or see."-he said before he exited.
"Good night!"
Beth, Faith and the children walked down the big pool in the second part of the residence and headed to the restaurant.
"Beth!"-a sudden shout startled them.
"Faith!"-the voice added in disbelief.
"Margaret!"-both Beth and Faith gasped…
