" Miss, I'm afraid you are under age to be here," Kaworu said to Yura, she ignored him to make sure Aero was okay. Her warm and gentle hands touched Aero's face. " This boy is under police control. Come back tomorrow when we are done interrogating him."
" You hit him," Yura said touching the bleeding spot on his neck. " What happened to police not being the bad guys?"
" This boy is responsible for murder and possession of a weapon. We have every right to us as much force as necessary to hear what he knows. Or didn't they tell you that in those NCIS shows you kids watch today?"
Yura took out a cellphone from her purse. She took a snapshot of Aero's wound. " If you don't let Aero out right now I will show this to my mother. Then this police station will face a seizure of lawsuits for hurting a minor."
" A minor? He doesn't look like a minor. Has he been staying up late?" Yura was hesitant in answering the police officer's question, but nodded. " Does he often keep to himself, distant from everyone?" Yura nodded. " And has he ever wanted to hurt animals such as dogs, cats, or even rats?"
" I don't have to answer that. Why are you asking these questions?"
" Those are usually signs of homicidal behavior, feelings that he will grow up to be a…"
" A what? Are you telling me Aero is going to grow up to be a serial killer because he keeps to himself and studies hard? Aero is a very nice boy. He's just a little different."
" I'm not different," Aero said defending himself. " I'm just more serious than everyone, but I'm not different."
" There's some good news and bad news for Aero. The good news is we can't match the bullet that killed Yugo Kohta so we don't know if our informant was right or not. The bad news is we have to hold Aero for a day in a holding cell until we can take him to a proper court. Everything's right as rain if you ask me."
" Don't worry, Aero." Yura put one hand on Aero's back patting it lightly. " I'm going to tell mom and dad about this. This is all just a misunderstanding."
Aero had to stay in a cell by himself all alone while Kaworu Ibuki watched him outside his cell. Kaworu would watch him all night outside his cell. He was talking on his cell phone all the time. The only attention he gave him was during dinner time when he gave him bread rolls, brown beans, green beans, and oatmeal for dinner. The food tasted like bugs dipped in cat litter. It wouldn't be a bad thing since bugs have protein in them and this looked like the kind of food with protein, but no one wants to eat cat litter. It's called cat litter because cats pee on it…he didn't want any of it.
" I'm not going crazy. I'm just delusional because I don't have parents. It's like being a baby crying all night and your parents don't pick you up. I don't want to go to prison. I just want to go back home."
Aero heard noise coming inside the prison. It was so coming beside him. He turned around staring at another person in his cell. This one was a demonic figure. He wasn't big and he wasn't scary; and he was kinda cute. He was eating that disgusting prison food with a fork. But it wasn't a silver metal fork, it was a fork made of human skeletons. His skin was gray, two spike appendages jutting out of his back, two red eyes on his chest, and metal bracelets over his legs. Aero wasn't scared seeing it, as weird as that sound, he was just surprised.
" If this is what humans call food…" The demonic figure said eating the prison food. The demonic figure bend the tray like a box and throwing it in his mouth. The tray tasted like toffee cake and chocolate popsicles. " Than that's like calling the demon a trash compactor."
Aero didn't want to talk to the demonic figure. He seemed like something that was better off being ignored because talking to it would cause bad things to happen. It looked like the demonic figure would ignore him if he sit here and did nothing. " I remember the time it was inevitable to become a shikigami. That when one of you screwball humans found a Death Note we would have to follow you around until they died. But you…you are something different."
The demonic figure reached out and put his creepy hand on Aero's shoulder. He didn't say a word while the demon rubbed his forefinger on his spine. Aero was shock, scared, and a little nervous. " I know you think life has a happy ending, but your ending is neigh. Your sister will tell your parents about the court, they will do everything to the best of their ability to free you, but you will go to prison. Before they take you away you commit suicide overdosing on pills. Human life is like clay to me, you stretch them out and make forest animals, but eventually you have to unroll the clay."
The shikigami as it called itself leaned forward and whispered in Aero's ears. It was horrible. The sound the shikigami made was the sound a snake would make. Even with the demon touching him, blowing in his ears, and telling him things that didn't make sense Aero did nothing. " The point is I don't want your life to end. If I wanted to take your soul I wouldn't have given you my soul. First it was a Death Note but I transferred my soul into the Death Note. If you want to know how my soul works in the Death Note…imagine the Death Note is here and it will appear. It will come because you want to be it."
