3Days ch.10

The end is near… will our heroes escape Seymour? Will Tidus get the man of his dreams? Will the author grow the balls to write some smut about a gay couple knowing the fact that her friend knows her penname and is often on fanfiction?

We shall see…

Warnings: violence, foul language, (mebbe) other stuff.

I do not own. What I do own though is this pretty badass Zanarkand necklace ;D

Kimhari's spear was lodged into Seymour's chest. The man looked unfazed at the strike. Aurons loud voice cut through the din of silence. "We leave, NOW!"

"But-"

Tidus's voice was cut off due to the katana at his throat. The blade wasn't pushed into his throat enough to cut off air flow but he couldn't mistake the trickle of sticky wetness on his neck for anything but blood.

"What about Kimhari? Sir Auron please-"

"He is a Guardian. Protecting you is everything!"

'I can't just leave him there…'

Auron's eyes were cold. The face of a man prepared to kill.

"Either you come with us, or I kill you here."

"Sir Auron!"

Yuna tried to grab onto Auron's arm but he shook her off. She landed on the ground with a sharp thud.

'Can you really? Can you kill me Auron?'

Auron's mouth tightened and his eyes grew colder.

'You would do it.'

For some reason none of the panic from before flooded his throat. He stared again into Auron's eyes. Maybe he was just imagining things but was that… pleading, in his eyes?

'You would kill me, but I know you would regret it.'

Tidus stepped away, glancing at Kimhari one last time. 'I'm sorry.'

Tidus began to back off, walking around Seymour to the gate. "Run!"

Auron's voice was commanding and Tidus and the other guardians fled from Seymour.

Feet crashed into the tiled floor as they ran toward the gate. The all stopped when Yuna tripped and fell to the tile floor. Shaking she stood up.

"I'm not leaving Kimhari!" For the first time he understood the wrath of an angry woman. A small part of his brain wondered if he should go hide.

"I told you, we are guardians-" Tidus stepped on Auron's feet, pretending not to notice the death glare directed his way..

"That's right! We're all guardians! And THAT means, wherever you go I'll follow!"

A new hope shone in Yuna's eyes. "Anywhere?"

"Anywhere!"

"Well what are we doing standing around here for! Let's go get Kimhari!" Rikku's voice was loud but definitely excited. "Besides, it's time we got a little payback!"

"Right! Tidus, we'll meet you there!"

Soon the others were halfway down the hall leaving the two guardians to themselves.

"So, you coming old man?"
A sound permeated the air. A low quiet rumbling filled his ears. 'wait-'

He was. Auron was laughing!

"What kind of guardian would I be if I didn't? After all, if I left the work to you we would get nowhere."

"Hey!"

Auron walked towards where Rikku and the others were holding off Seymour. Even from here he could see Yuna in the back healing, while Rikku and Kimhari took the front lines. Wakka and Lulu were in the back with Yuna and firing off long ranged attacks.

"So are you coming child? Or do you intend to stand there all day."
"You wish old man!"

With a cocky look and a sharp nod of his head Tidus bolted past Auron and right into the fray of the battle. Immediately he took charge.

"Kimhari, take back row! Hey Rikku! Help out Yuna with healing! Me and Auron will take front." His voice was commanding and the others noticed this.

Moving quickly Kimhari went to stand on the other side of Yuna pulling guard duty and Rikku ran over beside her. "Well someone seems confident. Know something I don't?"

Rikku's voice teased him mercilessly.

"Nope! But I don't need you falling over after a puff of wind hits you.' He teased back.

He heard Rikku's huff of agitation. "You'll pay for that later!"

He was barely able to jump to the side in time to avoid getting his face burned off by a strong fire blast. "Whew, that was a close one!"

"Auron!"

The man didn't move, his eyes focused on the enemy. "hn."

"His magic's strong. Think you can cut it off?"

Auon was silent. Tidus waited so long he started to think that Auron was ignoring him.

'We'll see."

Auron stepped back, spreading his legs. His sword was held in front of him hilt at the waist. The blade began to glow a purplish color. The energy began to condense, blade getting brighter and brighter. Tidus didn't know how he could stand it, if the energy was this powerful from where he stood then how much power was flowing through Auron?

His mouth watered. 'Focus, damn it!'

Auron dashed forward, smashing the blade in the center of Seymour's chest. The blade barely pierced the tough almost stone like skin causing little injury to him, but pain wasn't what Tidus cared about. 'Come on… please work…YES!' The purplish glow that overlaid the blade now surrounded Seymour, blending into his body and weaving in and out, binding him magic and weakening it. "Alright let's finish this!"

Tidus pulled back and let familiar magic course through his body, willing his heartbeat to accelerate, feeling that if he pushed it anymore he would explode. Finally he swung his fist, feeling the hastega spell wash over everyone.

Still recovering from the large casting he didn't notice the Blizzaga flying towards him.

Yuna's voice. "Tidus look out!"

Tidus looked up just in time for the magic to blast into him. While the magic's were weaker and less forceful it was enough to blast Tidus ten feet away and land face first on the stone tile floor. Unfortunately it didn't end there. Syemour fired off spell after spell. Blizzaga, Firaga, Thundaga and waterga. Yuna tried her best to block some of the attacks with shell and Nullify element spells but Seymour's casting was just too fast.

The attacks continued to blast into Tidus, each time blasting him backwards. 'hurts…'

He struggled to get up, only getting to his hands and knees before a powerful thundaga electrocuted him. It felt like his bones were melting and grinding into dust. It hurt so much… "I think I will keep him. After all I haven't had this much fun in ages."

Unable to keep the nausea down at Seymour's words Tidus vomited to the side of him then collapsed. His mouth was foul with the taste of watery vomit, the days of not eating taking their toll. All he could do was twitch. He had no energy left. But strangely enough he didn't hurt. Sore and aching, yes but in no real pain. The inky blackness took over his vision and he succumbed to it.

'Where am I?' the place he stood was white. White floors, white walls, white ceiling. An endless bounty of white. Then he noticed something strange. His body- 'It doesn't hurt.'

His body felt fine. He wasn't hungry for the first time in three days and he felt like he had slept a week. He felt great and itching to go back out there and kill Seymour!

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

Shocked he spun around nearly falling over at the sight in front of him. ''what in… wait, are these fayth?"

"TIdus we have come to help you and lady Yuna. Will you accept our help?"

"Uh, sure. But wait- why would you help us?"

"You will see soon enough. But before you fight Seymour there is someone you should meet."

The faith turned around and walked away, vanishing into the blank whiteness of the room. Suddenly Tidus felt ungodly sleepy, he could barely keep his eyes open. His mind was fuzzy and seemed like it was filled with cotton. "Wait…"

His voice was slurring and his tongue felt thick enough to choke him 'damn it…'

Sitting down he succumbed to the drowsiness overtaking him.

The uncomfortable stone against his back brought him awake. 'five more minutes, Auron…'

"I do not think that will be possible Son of Jecht. Please stand up, we must talk."

'Son of Jecht? SEYMOUR!'

Tidus scrambled to his feet, ignoring the strange heaviness in his limbs and shooting a glare at whatever was closest to him.

He was shocked out of his glower. The person standing before him wasn't Seymour. Suddenly a flash of pain wracked his body and he fell back onto his knees, curling into himself to try and contain it.

"Urgh!"

The next thing he felt was a warm hand on his head. Immediately the contractions in his muscles ceased. He exhaled in relief and lifted blue eyes at the being at his side.

"We do not have much time. Your body will wake up soon and when it does I will have to leave."

"Who are you? And what do you mean 'wake up'?"

The being smiled. It was a woman with long brown hair and blue eyes. She looked to be in her near thirties.

"Who am I… I have gone by many names. The Fayth, The dark Aeon, Adeline… Anima. I am Seymour's mother and his aeon. Please you must listen to my story."

"YOUR Seymour's mother?"

She laughed. "Yes. I was once a human wedded to lord Gyscal, a guado and maester of Yevon."

'Wait, once?' "Once?"

"Will you hear me out?"

Even though he was Seymour's mother something about her was… different then he had imagined. She didn't look angry or upset that we had tried to attack her son.

"Yeah, I'll listen."

She nodded, gratitude in her eyes. "I was once Adeline Gyscal, the wife of a maester of Yevon. I was given to Gyscal as a peace offering to bind the hearts of the Yevonites and the guado. We were to have a son who would unite the two peoples. His name was Seymour."

'So Seymour is both a guado and a yevonite? Well Seymour himself told us that.'

"I eventually grew to love my husband. I did right by him and Seymour. One day when Seymour was but a child a tragedy happened. A guado had killed a Yevonite in a fit of rage, and a war broke out. Relationships between Yevonite and Guado became strained. Eventually I was forced away from Lord gyscal my husband, with my son and banished to Zanarkand, at worlds end."

"I was given a chance to do away with my son but I refused to leave him so I was banished with him. My son was neither Yevonite or guado. He was both and because being neither one nor the other he was anathema to both sides. We stayed there for 10 years."

"While I was there I met a woman named Yunalesca, the wife of Lord Zaon, original defeater of sin. I grew sick around that time, I was too weak for the air and pollution from the war. I knew I would die from this illness, I could feel it in my soul. I knew my son had to once again reunite the bond between Guado and Yevonite. I also knew that he did not wield the power to do such a task."

I spoke with lady Yunalesca who gave me one option. Turn myself into a fayth. I knew I had little choice. I would die anyway in this foreign land. Yet if I did this task my son would have the power to complete his own. He was eight at the time."

"I- why are you telling me this?"

A strange feeling welled up in his chest. 'No! I will not have pity for him!'

"I tell you this so you know what made him this way and to of ask you a favor."

A sad expression shadowed her face, blue eyes somehow going even bluer. He could see the pain glinting in her eyes. "Hey-"

"Will you allow me to finish my story?"

Surprised Tidus stepped back and nodded. "My son did not want me to go. He cried so much but I did not listen. All that mattered was my son and my husband's goal. I am ashamed to say I went through with the ritual, but at a terrible price. I gave up my soul from my still living body and turned myself to stone."

"The price was my son. While I had left he had remained in Zanarkand. Eventually it got to him, twisting his mind, corroding it. He had had a taste of power and craved more. Eventually my aeon wasn't enough anymore. He began do seek more."

'More? SIN!'

"Judging by the look on your face you've already figured it out. Yes, my son craves sin's power; however I cannot allow him to attain it."

"So what do you want me to do about it?" His voice was heavily laid with sarcasm.

"I know what he has done to you. I also know that you are justified in your anger towards him."

All the color blanched from his face. 'she knows?'

"My son has walked the path of darkness for far too long, he can no longer stand the light. So I ask you this. That you kill my son Seymour, and lay his soul to rest."

Tidus was speechless, his body frozen. Suddenly a sharp pain blossomed from his midsection, flowing to every part of his body. His blood turned to fire and each beat of his heart wracked his body with pain, like a drumbeat.

"urgh, ah…ach."

Warmth settled on his head again, gently brushing the strands of blonde. The pain gently eased. He could still feel pain but it was muted, like a headache.

"Your body is beginning to wake up. It is realizing that this is not reality. We do not have much time left. Will you help me?"

Tidus lifted his head to look into her eyes. "Yeah. Though where are we?"

"We are in your dreams. I will hold you to your promise Son of Jecht, and heed my words. If your summoner chooses a different path take her to the Baaj temple. There is something for her there."

"I-"a kiss was placed onto his forehead. Suddenly all the pain was gone and he blacked out.

'ugh… stop that shouting.' "Tidus! Tidus you need to get up now!"

Opening his eyes was no longer a problem. Energy coursed through his body, feeling like he could run halfway across Spira 'So this was anima's gift'

Steadily he stood, almost falling over at the sight in front of him. Auron had gone berserk. He was screaming in rage and slashing like a maniac at Seymour. "YOU KILLED HIM! YOU WILL PAY DEARLY FOR HIS DEATH!

"The blows barely did anything against the stone body though. The purple ribbon of Magic break still surrounded Seymour.

'Now is your chance. Focus your power.'

"Huh? Wha-?" surprisingly the sound was coming from his own head!

'Son of Jecht. Focus your energy. I will control it. Summon Anima!'

'But how?'

'Call.'

Tidus lowered both hands to his sides, brotherhood dropping from his grasp. "Please, Anima. If you can hear me I need your help. If this keeps up we'll all die."

"Anima I summon you!"

Rings bearing symbols glowed around him, spinning faster and faster. Power swirled around him like a maelstrom. A hook shot into the ground reaching into what seemed to be the depths of hell, pulling up Anima; the dark aeon.

Tidus was so focused he didn't see the looks of shock and fear on Yuna or the others faces. He didn't see the look of deep relief and worry in Auron's usually blank face.

"NOW ANIMA! PAIN!"

His body felt extraordinarily light and powerful, pyreflies curled around him, attracted to his power. Something was different though. He saw what was happening, and he could move as he wanted to, but he didn't want to. It was like a second person was in his conscious, influencing him, telling him what he needed to do. 'Anima!'

Anima was influencing him!

'You need to flee now. You are not yet strong enough do defeat my son.'

'But Anima!-'

'Courage is not about fighting to the death, nor is it about power. Courage is about living to fight another day. You will have your chance.'

Tidus hung his head. 'alright.'

'Go! I will hold him off for now!'

"Guys! We're leaving!" Tidus's voice carried easily to the others. They were looking at him with a mixture of fear and awe. "We need to leave NOW! This is our last chance!"

Auron began to run to the Bevelle gates, leaving the other guardians to follow behind. Seymour's roars of rage echoed through the hallway. Even with their weakened and bloodied states they dispatched the guards easily and slipped out into the dark night of Macalania.

DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNN!

They've escaped the via purifico and escaped into Macalania forest. Guess what! I have one more chappie to go before the end! And guess what again? This chapter is almost 3,000 words long. A NEW RECORD! Either way, after 3days is complete I will probably do a rewrite of the first half as it is shit. I re-read it and I am scarred for lyfe. So my apologies if parts of it are down for a while.

NEWS: I am planning a sequel to 3Days. It is going to be called 'Last days'. It is the continuation of 3Days to the end of FFX. Keep an eye out for it!

Also contemplating writing a side story entitled 'First Days'. A short story of when Tidus and Auron were living in zanarkand!
