ShadowPony12 here! How's it going? Long time no see huh?
Anyway, here is the ninth installment of Beacon Legends! Beware, this chapter has a bit of exposition, I hope I made it entertaining and not feel like I'm dumping a bunch of info on you. I tried keeping it as brief as possible.
Sorry for taking such a long time, but college, I have a nuch of projects this month and didn't get much writing time, but hey it's only been like, a month and eighteen days?
So how about that episode, huh? Pretty beast if you ask me. Chick at end, best character.
Anyway, enough of my yammering here's the reason you guys came, enjoy the chapter!
Note- There will be mentions of "attempted rape" so beware. Another thing, there will be suggestive topics among sex. There is nothing big, nor is there any real scenes of this, but this is a heads up. So brace yourself.
P.S. I do not approve of either, especially the former.
Ch.9
Earlier that day…
Ladon saw red, the forest whizzing pass him, unstopping and endless. He didn't bother dodging and or weaving, he destroyed everything in his way with wind whipping around him violently shredding and destroying trees creating gouges in the ground. The native Grimm couldn't stop his unholy carnage… Beowulf and Ursa were ripped to shreds before they could react. Nothing is safe from the hell Ladon is unleashing.
Ladon didn't bother with his blade. He tore through tree after tree in reckless abandon with pure Aura. The wind moving at such a rapid pace started whistling like the sound of a thousand birds crying.
'Damn it! I knew the moment they released more Aura than necessary our cover was blown. I'm pretty sure Ozpin and Goodwitch now know what we are… descendants of The Oinari Darastrix bloodline... I didn't think they would react this fast or make it here within the day… they must be working nearby...' growling, he reached out to the winds with his aura and commanded them to sharpen, bringing down their combined wrath on the Grimm who got in his way, turning it into nothing.
He carved another path of destruction, but soon he felt a movement, a shift in the winds. It was slight, but it was there… the moment the thought finished a figure landed several feet away from him, reacting on instinct Python was removed from his sheathe and collided with another blade.
There was a clink and a whimper of pain from a small squeaky voice, "D-donnie… it's m-me… N-Nymph…" Her strength quickly began to wane, her knees giving out underneath Ladon's superior strength, unable to support herself due to her weakened state. She lost her grip and started falling to the ground, Ladon's blade descending upon her.
Ladon's eyes widened in recognition of her voice, stopping mid-swing to sheath Python and dropping to the ground soon afterwards to pick up Nymph from the cool moist soil, "Nymph! I am so sorry! I thought you were—"
His apology was stopped by Nymph's hand covering his mouth as she panted for breath, "It's okay Donnie…" she gave a small but brilliant smile and hugged him, her breathing returning to normal, "It's okay, you were just worried about the others."
Ladon wrapped his arms around her bringing her close, basking in her warmth and tightening his hug, "But still…"
Nymph pulled away with a wince, "Nuh-uh!" She stood up wincing a little bit more, "I will have none of that, it was an accident. What would Gaia say if she saw this?" She said playfully with a wag of her finger and poking his stomach. She was obviously full of energy again, bringing a small smile to his face.
At the moment he realized why he was rushing in the first place, "Gaia!"
Nymph jumped back slightly at his outburst, "What about Gaia?" She asked clueless to her sister's danger.
"No time, we have to get to Gaia now!" He said as he began dashing off, Nymph following soon after. His mind now at ease, he noticed he was wasting a lot of Aura in his enraged state. He frowned, disappointed that he let his emotions get the better of him… if there was one thing useful that he could pull from his past is the fact he gained a respectable amount of emotional control from it. A frown marred his tan complexion, not really wanting to think too much on his past…
Nymph took note of the downward curve on her older brother's lip, prompting her to ask him if he was alright, "Donnie… are you okay, you're frowning. You know I don't like it when you're frowning…" she admonished sternly, surprisingly because of her usual happy go-lucky attitude.
He looked towards her and gave a small smile and nodded, "I'm fine, Nymph." He looked forward again, his small immediately switching into a thin line.
Nymph wasn't buying and shook her head. She knew him to well to be fooled by such a weak façade. No matter, he has always been like this. Whenever something was bothering him, or he would remember something unpleasant. He would always play it off and it always hurt her, that no matter what, he always tried to remain strong for them never letting his guard down, never letting his emotions show and when they did he always said the same line, 'I'm fine…'
'I'm fine, huh?' He never was… no matter how hard he tried to hide it. She knew… even the other girls knew, but no matter what, he would say his usual line and walk out or change the subject, not giving anyone the time to question further.
She remembered a conversation she had with Gaia two years ago…
"I ran into Ladon in the forest last night after I decided I wanted a freshly picked apple from one of the many apple trees that grew there, he was in the middle of the forest destroying the poor trees… though, it looked like he was crying for the trees… why was he crying for something he destroyed? "
Gaia gave a saddened look to Nymph, "Well Nymph, he kind of was crying for them, for each one those trees remind him of something in his past…"
Nymph was even more confused by her statement, "If they remind them of something from his past, then why destroy them?"
Gaia was struggling to find the right words to explain the situation, she knows Nymph has been with them for a while, even during their time in the White Fang a bit back, but she was still a child who was forced to grow up quickly without a family and not to mentioned traumatized by some of the more twisted humans, who tried to get a quick off with a faunas child not even in her teens yet. She was left with the impression that all humans were scum and needed to be removed off the face Remnant, Meaning she hasn't really had time to learn about a person's more vulnerable moments…
"A person is like a tree and its shadow is its reputation or what it's known for…" She said unsure if she would get it, Nymph sat there for a while, her face was scrunched up as if she was thinking really hard. Gaia thinking, maybe that was a little too complicated for her to understand and was going to say something else, but was proven wrong when Nymph's eyes opened a little.
"So he sees himself as the tree and the shadows, his past?" She said unsurely with her eyes looking at her in curiosity.
Gaia smiled a little, 'She sure is smart for her age…' She opened her mouth and continued off from her, "That's right Nymph, he cuts down the trees because he can't stand to see his own shadows…" She said forlornly with her eyes glazing over…
Nymph spoke again, snapping Gaia out of her trip down memory lane "Is that why you cry every night when you think everyone is sleeping? Do you feel regret the same way Donnie does?"
Gaia was shocked again, as she didn't think anyone heard… "Yeah, I do just not to the same way… I can forgive myself and say I will be better, but I never forget what I've done… I see them as learning experiences, I'm a person, and I'm not perfect, just like anybody else…"
Nymph had a contemplative look on her face, her hair framing it, since it wasn't in its usual pigtails. She looked up and asked with only the innocence a child have, "Why do we feel regret?"
Gaia was truly stumped by this question as she didn't know how to respond to such an ingrained nature, since the beginning of time itself, in every being, "I can't really tell you Nymph, as I don't know myself, but regret no matter what, is a guaranteed certainty, and eventually it all come to haunt and hurt us until we come to terms with it…"
Nymph opened her mouth to speak more, but Ladon walked in and saw Gaia and Nymph sitting in the living room and gave a small weary smile… "Hey girls we're going into the city today, tell Odissia to get washed up I'll make breakfast."
'It's been roughly five years since he left that life behind… when is he going to forgive himself?' she thought for a moment as they moved around a tree that looked strong an proud against whatever mother nature threw at it… that's it, now I remember.
"Willow trees are my favorite…" She started, Ladon glancing at her for a moment before looking forward again, "I remember there used to be a huge willow tree next to my family home…"
Ladon began listening carefully, she rarely remembers anything from when she lived with her family, but of all things to remember a tree, a willow tree at that… it must have great sentimental value to her.
"Me and my mom, well, at least I think it was my mom, would always play on it with my… big brother, I think, whether it be swinging on it into the lake right next to it or just climbing it to see how far we can get before we got too tired to climb any further… but that wasn't what I remember most about it."
She stopped speaking for a moment, wiping the stray tears that found their way down her cheeks and collected herself. It was the only thing she truly remembered about her "family"… that's what she liked to believe anyway.
Ladon looked at her, the normally cheerful look on her face, even when she went into her "serious" mode, was replaced by a solemn and somber one with tear tracks staining her cheeks even after she wiped them away.
She picked up where she left off, "It was that the tree, no matter the weather, or element, it was able to bend and withstand anything. It was strong no matter what happened to it, it stayed strong like a Guardian…" She trailed off as she wiped off more tears, "The day that my family was…" she sniffled, "That day everything was taken from me, my big brother hid me in the base of the willow tree, hoping it will protect me while they fought off the attackers. Of course I didn't want to go, but he made me Pinkie Pie promise… it's silly I know, but when they wanted me to behave or listen they always had me do that…"
She wiped her eyes again, "Anyway, there was a storm that day, a really strong one, and the willow tree is most dangerous at this time, because its limbs swing wildly around its vicinity, even blocking off the hollow area at the base of it making it near impossible to get passed, unless you're just short of a hunter… I don't remember much after that, I was scared…"
"It was a couple of hours till I finally came out, but that proved to be a mistake as the people who attacked my family were picking through the destruction making sure no one else was alive… I only popped my head out for a moment, but that was all that was needed because one of them was just out of range of the willow trees flailing limbs and saw my head and ears peek out." Her long ears drooped in a vulnerable fashion.
"He immediately called the others, when they got there they were calling me names and throwing stuff at me… one of them tried approaching me, but strangely the storm got stronger and the willow's limb flew out and hit across the chest with a disgusting crack and flew into the lake… he didn't swim back." She said silently, not wanting to remember the first time she saw someone killed.
It was silent for a while, remembering a time when you witnessed your first death is never easy… they jumped from branch to branch at slightly more sedate pace than their usual fast past they were going, before landing on the ground and running through the clearing.
Ladon didn't know what brought this up and he was curious as to why, but he wanted her to collect herself and finish her story before he asked her anything.
She continued, "They tried a few more times, but were no more successful than the first. I don't get why they were so hell bent on getting to me, it wasn't until one of them finally got passed my Guardian, that I really feared for my life… he told me he was originally going to kill me as soon as he got to me, but decided that was too nice and decided a more intimate approach was necessary…"
A group of trees exploded in a fiery combustion interrupting Nymph who looked towards Ladon… his eyes were glowing a blazing red almost orange like color.
Ladon was beyond furious, how could anyone do that to a child, not even some of the most extremist Anti-Faunas Supporters he met were that sick and twisted… and trust him, he's met a lot. That man was just twisted and disgusting person in general… if he was there that man would be sent through the Oblivion trials of hell… he then felt her grip on his arm he looked to his side and saw the tear streaked, but smiling face of Nymph.
He wasn't allowed to say anything, "It's fine, he didn't get too much farther than a unbuckling his belt…" He let out a breath of relief, but it still didn't stem his disgust.
"You need to let me finish before you make stuff disappear in a fiery explosion." He nodded and looked away slightly embarrassed of his outburst… again.
She moved back to her original position, a few feet to his right, "As I said, he didn't get very far, because my aura unlocked, releasing a huge explosion of energy, shattering the tree that protected me and killing the people with the shards… I passed out from exhaustion after that, but when I woke up the sun was shining brightly and the tree that I once played on with my family, that protected me, was shattered, and around me were the debris covered in bits of blood and other pieces of giblets. In my open palm, was a little seed..." she spoke despondently, staring at her hand as if she could still see it there.
She looked back up from her hand and looked forward, "After I gained my awareness, I replanted that seed in the exact same spot the previous one was, and I made an oath on that single seed; I promised to pay back that tree for protecting me from those men and return the favor to my next protectors…" She whispered and smiled as she imagined Odissia, Gaia, and Ladon, all laughing together without a care or worry.
Ladon fell silent, digesting everything he just heard, he looked up and to his side and saw Nymph wearing her usual cheerful expression, "Why bring this up, you haven't before…" he asked.
She looked towards him and smiled brightly, "The reason I remember any of that was because the tree, I remembered the joy and protection it brought to those around… I remembered the tree for itself and not the shade it brought me from its shadow."
Ladon's eyes shot open when he felt Nymph's Aura change for a second before returning to normal, he looked towards Nymph to find out if she noticed it, but she was already blasting ahead. The change in her Aura only affected him for a second before his thoughts returned to what she said…
"Come on, Donnie! Gaia needs us!" He shook his head, unsure of what she meant. He sped up to catch up with her before she got too far ahead, there are more important things at stake right now than trying to make sense of what Nymph said.
After several more minutes of running in through the forest, a huge release of Aura was felt throughout the forest making Ladon and Nymph stumble from the sudden surge, but quickly recovered.
Nymph's "Aura sense" immediately went off as she looked up to the sky not too far ahead of them; she saw a massive concentration of energy in the atmosphere.
If another were to look at the same spot Nymph is they would see nothing, but empty space… but Ladon, is not any other person he immediately knew exactly what Nymph was seeing even though he could not see it himself.
Nymph's gaze snapped to Ladon, "We need to get to Gaia now, it's just ahead!" She dashed forward, breaking the sound barrier as she did so.
Before Ladon could follow after her, he saw a concentration of purple energy solidifying in the air, "No…" with that time slowed almost to a stop, everything went silent, a huge explosion was resounded throughout the forest like a bomb, at that moment, everything reverted to pace.
Ladon was gone, and in his place, a shattered ground, demolished trees, and a trail of upturned dirt.
Further up, Nymph was speeding through the forest, branch to branch, never allowing herself to touch the ground, but looked back when she felt a reverberation through the air almost like someone was- she didn't have a chance to finish her thoughts because Ladon flew right past her causing her to stumble and fall off the branch. A sharp pain passed through her body as her body impacted the cool dirt.
Any angry retort she had died in her mouth when she realized what was forming in the sky, forgetting her anger and her pain she jumped up and bolted after Ladon, while not quite as fast, she still had a decent amount of speed in her.
Seconds later, she arrived just as the attack was just about to touch base and witness Odissia grab Gaia and move to the other side through her shadows.
Ladon appeared in Gaia's previous spot. He gripped his blade as a heavy layer of solid manipulated, lavender aura wisped violently around and off the blade, pushing off towards the purple ball of death. Brandishing his blade in front of him he met the attac head-on, the lavender Aura clashing against Kira's demonic purple.
The two auras pushed each other back and forth, each fighting for dominion, "Fool! Do you honestly think you can overpower me?" she said, her demonic purple slowly overriding his lavender aura, consuming it.
Ladon's options were limited, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, he could either choose to fight a losing battle of power and take major damage throwing him out of the game and out of consciousness, leaving everyone else virtually untouched or moved and still take a decent amount of damage keeping him in-game but generally endangering everyone else to the blast radius of the attack, but he wasn't a choice because tendrils of black shadows wrapped around him and pulled him through the ground.
The attack, no longer having resistance, collided with the facets of Remnant, sending wisps of purple flames around and glassing the ground where Ladon once stood.
Kira did not give an outward reaction, not willing to give them any satisfaction, just staring at the spot in apathy, "So you're going to run and hide, that seems to be all you know how to do. What happen to the little boy that always said I'll never run from a fight? Did he die with the cold-blooded killer of the White Fang, the real Ladon Lavender Ryu, the Demon Fox of the White Fang!"
Ladon's eyes flickered between all of the colors of the spectrum, each one pulsing more deadly than the last as he began to lose control of his power. Kira smirked at his constant fulgurations of power, pinpointing him and his sister's locations.
Gaia placed a hand on his shoulder, "Ladon, relax, she's trying to get under your skin, now sto-"
"Now don't think I forgot about that slut of a sister of yours…" She said sickly sweet as if she was about to drop a bombshell, whether it be truth or lie, she knows it will get the job done regardless.
"What was her name? Oh yes, now I remember Gaia. Oh I know exactly how you ordered her to sleep with your targets before she killed them…" She accused with no small amount of sadistic glee in her tone, enjoying the rush of killing intent focused on her and the mental anguish she was undoubtedly inflicting.
"Did your other siblings know what you forced her to do? Or are they ignorant to your immoral orders? That's not the only thing surprising about it. Did they know that Gaia enjoyed every second of it, being violated by the filthy disgusting humans that you all chose to protect after they killed your families slaughtered your hometowns… Isn't that right Nymph?" She called her out as glint of perverse glee shined in her iris.
Gaia's mental processes were going haywire, she knows that wasn't true he never forced her to do this and when he did, he said "to never let them get far enough to where you degrade yourself by sleeping with them." Of course it wasn't in those exact words, but the effect is the same.
Ladon brain was conflicted, he never ordered her do such lewd acts did he? No, he didn't. He always told her to kill them before they got too frisky, right? She never went farther, right? They couldn't have violated her, they couldn't have she was always said they didn't.
"How could you turn a blind eye to the humans who have caused you so many traumas? So many in-fact, that you can't remember what happened that day? I bet you remember your brother, protecting you right? Guess what, he wasn't protecting you… He was using you, using you as bait, so he could get away…" Nymph's mind started to shutdown, unable to process her lies, they couldn't have! Kira reveled in her anguish and despair, getting off on her pain.
Nymph was in a state of disbelief as Kira continued, "Didn't you ever wonder why you couldn't find his body, or your parents for that matter? Didn't you think it was odd there was never evidence of their deaths?"
Nymph fell on her rear and curled up gripping her head, "No, no, sh-she's lying. M-my fa-family gave their lives to-to protect me…They wouldn't… They wouldn't, they can't… W-we had some happy memories, I-I know I remember them! I don't re-remember the people, but I remember good memories; the tire swing, the willow, the lake… the-the…" Odissia crouched next to her and pulled her into a hug, trying to calm her down from the mental breakdown that was happening currently.
"Oh you didn't know did you? You thought they loved you? Why would they love an abomination like you, you were nothing but a mistake!" She spoke in a faux condescending surprise, but the façade was ruined by the under lying venom that dripped with each word.
No longer able to take the mental torture, Nymph let out an ear-piercing scream and fell over, the mental shutdown taking full effect.
Kira released a dark laugh, "What happen "little miss bubble of joy" can't handle the truth?"
Kira's tails snapped to her side blocking a tendril of shadows, her smirk returning, "Desiree, I know all about you, still having trouble remembering your life before your life as beggar?" She quipped mockingly.
Odissia responded with another whip of her tendrils, completely unfazed by her comment.
Kira smirked a little more, blocking her attack with little to no effort, "A resilient one… it's going to be fun breaking you." her tail lashing out, striking at Odissia. She dodged by fazing into her shadows and then re-appearing off to the side with a tendril whipping at Kira who brushed it aside lazily with a flick of her tail, "I wonder how it feels to have no memory, of who you were, who your family was and if they loved you. It must feel horrible being stuck in a world of darkness, loneliness, hatred. A place where no one wants you and wouldn't notice if you were dead…"
The tendrils began snapping at her in a much quicker and precise movement, though this was unnoticed by Kira, as she effortlessly blocked each tendril with practiced ease.
"Nothing to say? How boring…" her voice took on a mock disappointment with her eyes glowing for a moment. She whipped her tail, quickly creating a ripple, and much faster than Odissia could anticipate and react. She was sent flying back towards the forestry.
Kira let out a low, dark chuckle that echoed around the clearing, rippling the air and washing over Odissia.
Pain, that's all Oddisia could feel as she soared through the air from Kira's tail and crash into one of the resident trees that give the Emerald Forest its namesake. She slid down the tree onto the ground and sat there, dazed, as she thought about how she even knew about any of those events, even if some of them were embellished a bit.
The illusion of control is what she is aiming for, targeting our vulnerabilities and constantly thrashing at it to break us… she's doing a damn good job at it to. She was able immobilize Ladon in confusion, shame Gaia into paralysis, and completely crush Nymph's memories… my question is how she knew any of those, as far as we know, she was only there during the murder of Gaia and Ladon's parents and older sister, Kira doing the honors in the execution, which is strange…
"You're done already? Still a weak little beggar, are we not? I want you to beg for your family's life, beg, like I forced them to!" She commanded as she held Ladon, Gaia, and Nymph each in a bone in a bone crushing grip, getting off on their struggles and screams of pain.
Odissia bolted straight up, her daze and lazy stance gone, staring daggers at Kira, " Let. them. Go. Kira…" her voice slowly being influenced by the corruptive nature of her black dust pendent, her aura beginning to fluctuate a deeper purple, slowly surrounded by arcs of black lightning.
Kira gave euphoric smile and crushed them some more, "What are you going to do about it if I don't?" she said in a state of bliss as her breathing got heavier.
Odissia's guns turned into curved daggers, its own artificial decay like aura began pulsating around her blade. Her Aura starting to spike, from a cold neutral purple to a corrupted, blood thirsty, dark crimson, her aura decayed anything with in its range turning all life in the area into sustenance of energy and absorbed into her aura.
Kira paid the effects no time, she crushed them even harder sending her further into a euphoric bliss. Odissia couldn't stand the sight anymore and rushed towards Kira as she left a trail of dry dirt, dead, now decaying grass and trees.
Her rush was cut short when a purple flame surrounded her tails and only an inch away from their bodies. Kira's hazy eyes narrowing with trace amounts of euphoria in them, "Come any closer and I burn them into a crisp."
She growled and stopped her approach, "You wouldn't dare…" she hissed out.
Kira's arrogant smirk was beginning to grate on her nerves more than it should, "Wouldn't I?" the flames moved closer to her captives, the intensity of the heat showing as sweat began to trail down their faces instantly.
Odissia eyes widened, "STOP!" Kira continued to intensify the heat as her breathing got quicker with a lust filled smirk marring her features. "I said stop!" she shouted again, snapping Kira from her still very present euphoric high.
Kira smirk stood in place, "Good, I won't kill them… yet. I still want to savor the pleasure, but first…" Her aura solidified and extended from her tails locking each of Odissia's limbs in place as she pulled her to her knees.
Odissia struggled against her bonds, but to no avail, "Yes, struggle makes it all the more pleasurable for me. Now watch as I crush them." There was no remorse, no mercy, no hesitation, as she slowly crushed her helpless victims.
Odissia could only watch in horror as the pain began ripping through her their bodies, their screams of anguish piercing the air like a hot knife through butter. She tried pulling against her bonds again, but only yielding the same results as her recent attempt. She screamed for them, trying to get their attention, but they could not hear her with their senses clouded by the encompassing pain.
Kira shivered as she witnessed the normally stoic assassin, take on a look of fear, vulnerability, and helplessness. Her breathing once again quickened, her eyes became cloudy and glazed over, her mind slowly losing sense of time her euphoria beginning to peak, her bliss took over and she began to crush her captives much faster with her, now, much stronger, grip due to her lust induced state.
Odissia's mind was working in overdrive to try to find a way out of their hopeless situation, but she was having difficulties coming up with a plan as the constant fear kept her mind from straying too far from the horrific sight. Her fears soon became reality as Kira began to crush them relentlessly, no longer slow and painful, she was moving much quicker, but no less painful. It wasn't long before their bodies begun falling limp, the lights dimmed from their eyes, and a final snap and they droop lifelessly.
A screamed forced itself out of Odissia's throat, her eyes rolling to the back of her head. Kira let go of her body and fell over, drool making its way out of the corner of her mouth with tears streaming down her face.
Kira's eyes glowed as she chuckled creating a ripple through the air.
Kira stood above Odissia's limp body, a dark pleasured filled smile was planted across her face. That grew wider when a scream ripped through the quiet forest. Kira looked down at Odissia's body as a bitter smell filled her nostrils; she noticed that around Odissia's waist was soaked. She smirked at her handiwork… to her, she hasn't had this much fun nor pleasure in a long time and like a true sadist she lowered her face down to Odissia's tear stained one and licked across the tear tracks, enjoying the salty flavor of her tears like some sort of delicacy.
In her tails were the other three members struggling to break free each one screaming Odissia's name, trying to get her to respond, but her mind was too far gone in the illusion to the point, where she actually believes that the people she cares about the most, were killed and she was forced to witness their slow deaths.
Ladon was yelling for Kira's blood, Nymph's already fragile mind was shattered at witnessing Odissia go through such a torturous illusion, Gaia was too stunned by the scene to have any reaction except tears cascading down her cheeks.
Kira brought them in front of her with her wicked smile in place, "Did you enjoy the show? I know I did..." to further prove her point at how much she enjoyed it she hung them across where she was standing, a sweet honey scent filled the area causing all their faces sans Nymph's face to twist in disgust.
Ladon snarled and thrashed harder, trying to break free from her powerful tail. Every time he tried calling on his semblance, Kira would detect his rise in Aura and squeeze him, effectively stopping attempts.
Gaia on the other hand was trying to gain Odissia's attention in any way she can, "Odissia get up! It wasn't real! You have to snap out of it!" Gaia tried her hardest to spark some sense into her, but every word was met with silence.
Nymph felt as if she were in a dreamless state, staring into nothing, no happiness, joy, anger, sadness, nor pain, just emotionless as if those "emotions" were a foreign term to her. She was lost in her shattered memories, trying to piece everything together after Kira effortlessly broke them.
Ladon tried and tried again, but was only met with failure and Kira's laugh. He had to think of something, Gaia was too exhausted from her fight with Kira earlier, Nymph was useless at this point she is too crushed by Kira's to be an effective help, and he well, every time he tried anything Kira would crush him with her tail and stop him from gathering the necessary Aura to help… the only one that has any chance of releasing them is currently stuck in a nightmare illusion created by Kira to place her out of commission, but if they can get her to snap out of it they have a chance of escaping.
The problem with that plan is that they have no idea how to counter it and the only who can at the moment is out of commission… so first thing we need to get Nymph back, but how?
He looks towards Gaia, she was trying her hardest to get Nymph awake, she must have come to the same conclusion because she no longer looks panicked or worried she looks comforting more than anything else, but it won't be enough if her mind games are strong, its only worse that her semblance allows her to fool all five senses and her memory, whether it be changing a few small things or fading events. And considering Nymph's are barely legible it would be easy to fool her to thinking otherwise, though the illusion on Odissia is new….
'Her tails are getting tighter… I don't think we have much time before she completely crushes us. I need to get Gaia's attention, than I need to convey a message to Nymph without arousing suspicion from Kira… but what can I do?' He went through what could work and what would just get him or one of the others killed. His mind going through each plan's pros and cons… but he always came back to the same conclusion.
During the formation of his plan the tails were becoming unbearable for him and the others. They won't be able to last much longer with all the pressure on their body, each could feel their bones struggling against the force of her tails.
Kira was enjoying every second of their pain and struggles, but her biggest off is still from Odissia, her constant screams push her to the edge every single time. She was beginning to get bored with the ones in her tails, they stopped screaming and went silent, and she wondered if they were dead already, it would be a shame if they were. She wants to watch the light leave their eyes as she does it, but the few squirms every now and then assured her that they are alive and kicking, well, squirming, but the effect is the same.
She carried on for several more minutes before she was bored,, "This bores me… time to di- what?" Ladon and Gaia's aura's skyrocketed, catching Kira off guard. This caused her to growl slightly, "Annoying pests…" She tightened her grip on them aiming to completely shatter their bones, but a stinging pain whipped across her face.
Her eyes flared as she turned to see who struck her and saw the panting form of Odissia, her eyes were bloodshot, tear tracks stained her face, but there was no sadness… no there was only pure outrage and hate, the normally stoic faced assassin was releasing every bit of killer intent she possessed upon Kira.
Kira was not affected much. Her rapid movements of her eyes scanned the surrounding area trying to figure out how she broke her illusion, but found no evidence of someone helping her out of the illusion and she tried again, but this time it was counteracted by Odissia's Aura. This made Kira furious, to her, these disgraces are a cancer to fox kind and they should not be able to negate her illusion.

"How did you counter my illusions? A weakling like you shouldn't have that kind of power." She questioned, her arrogance never faltering as she believes that no matter the outcome, it will always be the same; them crushed at the bottom of her tails, speaking of which she still has the three mutts in her tails. So regardless she will kill them, but for now she'll humor the disgusting abomination.
Odissia ignored her question and hissed out, "You made me think you killed family as you got off on it and forced me to watch it over and over again…" Once again her Aura skyrockets, black arcs of lightning surrounding it as an overwhelming sense of dread once again filled the clearing, wave upon wave decaying the grass and trees a little more each time, till each one was nothing but a dry lifeless husk, "I am going to pay you back tenfold for this!"
All of Kira's arrogance and composure died away for a split second as sudden flashes of fire and blood drenched rope filled her vision as the wave of dread enveloped her, but she wasn't hindered for long before regaining her composure and not a moment too soon either. A huge tendril of shadow crashed against the ground in front of her, smashing her previous position, throwing up torrents of rock and dirt, and creating a fog of dirt ruining Kira's clarity of the battlefield.
Kira lowered her head and bent her forelegs with one forward and one just a little ways back, raising her three brilliant tails with her captives high in the air, "Come out little pest, I'm only going to kill you… slowly." She chuckled darkly at her own joke.
Odissia's disembodied voice surrounded the clearing, "No… the effort is too much to show myself, I'll just attack you at my leisure." The moment she finished her sentence several shadow tendrils peered from the ground catching Kira off guard and forcing her to make split second decisions, to avoid or just take the attacks with little fear that her aura wouldn't block most, if not all, damage.
She had no more than an instant to make a choice so she went off reflex and instinct to avoid each tendril her evasions were rough since being caught off guard, but unquestionably graceful. A skill she's gained through years of experience on the battlefield.
Kira snarled, "Staying hidden than? I should have expected this. It is your specialty after all…" She smiled as burst of energy surrounded her body and exploding outwards; clearing the area of the fog, but there was no traces of Odissia anywhere.
She smirked, her tail muscles beginning to tighten around her captives as they begin to squirm from the pressure of her tails and smashed them on the ground, eliciting several screams of pain from them. A purple glyph with an image of a blood moon surrounded by clouds etched into the ground and began expanding till it surrounded her victims, the glyph began glowing and Kira let them go. Kira retracted her tails and a dome of her demonic Aura encased her unconscious prey.
Odissia's eyes began to glow an ominous purple and her shadows spinning rapidly around her, creating a tornado of devoid black as a dark rumbling female voice shattered the air, "You're going to regret hurting them."
The spiral of darkness collapsed on itself, lifting all debris from the fight and exploding outwards, showering the field in a show of destruction. Kira erected an unseen barrier around herself deflecting all the debris, while everything launching at her prisoners was turned into ash upon collision with their prison.
The leftover destruction kicked up more dirt as small tendrils of shadow started refracting against every particle, shrouding the entire field in a veil of cold darkness.
Ozpin & Glynda
Glynda was swiping between every single camera trying to locate the battle between Kira and Ladon's group. Every time she went to their camera she only found a completely static filled black screen. "Ozpin, what happen to our feed?" Glynda demanding an answer, an answer he was all too willing to give.
"Simple, I do not know." He said completely serious with a hint of mirth.
Glynda was taken aback by his answer, "What do you mean?" she asked in disbelief.
Ozpin's hand was gliding across the screen of the scroll, maneuvering the menu with a purpose, "It means what it sounds. I do not know what happen. The last thing that happened was a surge of energy aura and the screens went black."
His fingers went through more menus before he tapped one final time, bringing up an eagle's eye view of the clearing, "Look at this." He tilted his scroll slightly allowing Glynda a view of the images on his scroll.
Glynda's eyes sharpened at the sight, "That is ridiculous, it's a dimension rift the size of the clearing."
Ozpin "hm'd" at her comment, "Not quite. We only know of 2 others who can produce a rift of that size. One of them works at this school and the other hasn't been seen for years."
Glynda looked at Ozpin with an unconvinced expression, "I don't see what she would have to gain at the initiation—"
"I never implied it was her who summoned it." Ozpin cut her off, implying he knew it wasn't her… it's been years, 7 years to be exact, before she disappeared without a trace, leaving behind many loved ones. No, not her, he was referring to the child with control of the shadows, Odissia.
Glynda expression took on a heavier stare of disbelief, "That child does not have that kind of power. There is no way she could have summoned a rift of that magnitude. It must of have been her…" Her voice dripped with anger at the mention of "her".
Ozpin either, did not notice her anger, or paid it no mind, he was unaffected regardless, "Believe what you will Glynda, but there are more to our students than we are self, know." Ozpins voice held a feeling of finality, meaning, he will no longer expand on this subject.
Glynda picked up on his tone immediately and went back to observing the other initiates, but was only half watching because her mind was still trying to wrap around the rift.
The Rift…
Kira's body tensed, the once warm air, now brisk and cold, sent chills down her spine. The air no longer smelled of forestry or burnt grass and glassed dirt, she could only smell the decaying air, putting her on edge. Hers eyes were scanning the darkness, trying to find an escape or Odissia, but all she could see was an endless void of nothingness.
Kira snarled, "Where are you girl…?" Her head moving from left to right, eyes narrowed trying to see into the obscurity of infinite black.
A dark laughter rumbling the darkness putting Kira on even more edge than she already was, "Scared already Kira? You should be, we're in my realm now!"
Kira was about to question what she meant by "her realm", but her sixth sense kicked in and she evaded to her side, dodging several tower sized stalagmite piercing her previous position. She looked and saw that several of the stalagmites that hit her prison bounced off and pierced the ground around it.
Another dark chuckle was echoing against the darkness, a figure formed from the void and took shape of a two-tailed fox; its fur is a midnight purple with pink streaks twisting and contorting around its body, forming a pair of angel like wings behind a circle with a triangle on it, the triangle's corners spiraling inwards, and another spiral forming directly in the middle of it, surrounding that were a series of more triangle molding to fit inside the circle and leaving small open spaces to distinguish the shapes from each other. The beast was as tall as Kira, her purely pink eyes were glowing, pulsing, and full of power, this was further emphasized by the "steam" of pink energy rising from its eyes.
The two-tailed demon fox mouth curved into an eerie smile, showcasing her sharp fangs gleaming menacingly, "Surprised Kira." her mocking causing Kira to snarl in annoyance, "Didn't account for an abomination to be able to transform?" the condescending tone was not missed by Kira.
Kira decided not to give her a response. She instead chose to launch several condensed orbs of fox fire from her mouth at Odissia's fox rapid succession. Odissia countered with her own condensed fox fire, meeting Kira's in the middle in a collision of powers, the air surged outward from point of impact, throwing up smoke. Kira followed up and ran through the smoke and threw her head back and throwing her forward, a beam of purple energy exiting it and flying directly at Odissia.
Odissia swiped her tails consecutively, hurling several crescents of pink energy, colliding with the beam and exploding in a show of power with the other crescents colliding with Kira, and throwing her back several feet. Odissa followed after her in hopes of getting another attack in.
Kira was still recovering from the attack when she noticed Odissia coming in with her tails poised to strike her in her prone form, she wasn't having it and spun sweeping her tails under Odissia, but she managed to launch herself in the air, moments before impact. Kira moved her head up to face Odissia, her eyes widened, witnessing Odissia glow momentarily, and corkscrewing straight at her. Tendrils of pink energy shot out from the attack and wrapped around Kira, pinning her down as Kira began to struggle against her bonds, but all for naught, the attack landed in an explosion of pink flames.
Odissia flipped out of the raging inferno of pink flames, standing victoriously a distance away from the flames. The shroud disappeared and revealing Emerald forest in all its glory, she trotted towards the prone forms of her companions lifting each of their unconscious bodies and placing them on her furry back, since the prison that held them captive is now gone. Odissia moved her head towards, the tower of pink flames examining the smoking carcass in the midst of it.
"Hmph… I'm going to go to sleep for a very long time when we finish this damnable initiation…" The lazy drawl apparent in her voice again. Turning on her paws, she started making her way towards the end of the forest. She would have made it to if it weren't for the immediate surge of energy and stream of purple flames that Odissia just managed to dodge, "What the-!"
A sinister laughter reached the twitching ears of Odissia, she looked back at the huge torrent of pink flames, noticing that it is slowly being engulfed by purple flames. The silhouette of Kira stood on all fours, another burst of aura blew away the flames revealing an undamaged Kira, but that wasn't the worst part of it, it was the five tails thrashing behind her in an erratic manner. Her facial features took on a more feral look: her teeth sharpened, her fangs elongated and peered out of her mouth, no longer fitting, and her eyes gained a sharper, deadlier feel to it.
Her nose scrunched in a snarl, "We're not done here abomination!" Kira's maw creased open with purple energy spilling out, she opened her mouth agape and a million arcs of energy spearheaded towards Odissia and co. tearing the ground asunder as it passed over the terrain arching and thrashing outwards, Odissia wasn't able to dodge the attack in time and settled for placing her tails in front of her. The attack collided with her tails, holding it off momentarily, but was broken only seconds afterwards, discharging and propelling Odissia into the forest, the insentient forms of her team flying off her back and hurtling through several trees and striking the ground as their bodies skipped across the ground before rolling to a stop.
Odissia struggled to right herself on the ground, pushing herself up she strained her legs to keep her balance, but the attacked turned her legs into noodles. She tried again, managing to keep herself from falling again. Her eyes dragged to Kira's sauntering form before rolling them around the field to spot where her family is. A few seconds of scanning her eyes found a trail of destroyed trees and tried to make move for them, but a searing pain erupted from her side, tossing her back and onto the ground.
Odissia lay on her side, her body aching from the surprise attack, "You didn't think, you'd actually beat me, did you?" Odissia said nothing, and that was all the answer Kira needed, "Ha, you will never be able to beat me you disgusting half-breed."
Kira loomed over Odissia prone form. She raised her paw and placed it on the crook of Odissia's neck applying pressure little by little, "You are a stain that must be wiped from Kitsune blood… enjoy hell."
Odissia writhed in pain as Kira applied more pressure to her neck, gradually aiming to clamp her throat shut and suffocate her to death. Odissia flailed her fore and hind legs in attempt to move her off, but Kira applied more pressure, turning Odissia's unpredictable thrashing to a sluggish swing. Her limbs fell lifelessly as she slipped into a realm of unconsciousness with the final scene of a torrent of green energy slamming into the side of Kira thrusting her off her throat.
With the paw removed from her throat, oxygen was allowed back to her brain and Odissia's lips separated and sucked in plenty of the oxygen she was deprived of.
"Desiree! Are you okay?" Ladon ran his hand through her fur, hoping to comfort her in some way. Gaia ran up next to him and crouched next to her foxified sister worry, blemishing her beautiful face.
Nymph was next, "Ladon, Gaia, out of my way!" she shoved Gaia and Ladon off to the side and pulled out a pink arrow and slammed it into her neck, the arrow dissipating into small pink flakes and absorbed through the opening in her skin. Odissia felt her strength return gradually and stood up, albeit shakily, but no less rejuvenated.
She shook her head of the last bit of haziness, "Yeah, I'm fine now. Thanks Nymph." The others stood up next to her, overpowered by her sheer size compared to them.
Kira shook off the attack and looking fixedly at the quartet of Faunus, "Good, all of you get to die together." She reared her head back again and shot forward, the arcs of energy again, giving the ground the same treatment as the previous shot did. Gaia jumped in front of everybody calling on every ounce of her Aura and channeling it to her palms as she thrust them forward erecting a solid wall of green energy four stories high and a mile wide.
The Arc Spear crashed into the wall, straining against it, forcing its way through, but Gaia did not falter and held against it, milking more Aura to strengthen it. Gaia began to sweat unable to stand any longer, but that didn't stop her from trying. Beads of sweat ran down her face, until she completely lost her strength, it exploded shattering the shield, pushing back the quartet several feet with Ladon enforcing Gaia's stance.
The moment they thought they were clear, a condensed ball of fox fire collided with their position hurling them much farther through the forest before exploding outward and careering them farther through and out of the foliage leaving a blazing trail of purple flames.
Ladon dug his blade into the ground just in time to hold him up and slow down his momentum. His attire was destroyed shredded and burned away in random spots, he was panting heavily, his skin was red from the intensity of the flames, if it wasn't for his blade he would probably be in a much worse situation.
Nymph landed, if barely, behind him, not in the same condition as Ladon, but still in a pretty bad condition, part of her top was burned off with part of her cleavage showing. Her skirt was burned near the edges with several holes in it, though, it revealed nothing. Her arm was the worst part it was bleeding again with bandages being completely wasted away. She was barely keeping herself up, wincing with every breath.
Gaia was unconscious, she was in the most revealing state; her turtleneck was completely burned off and only left a bra strap around her chest and her shorts were completely burned off as well, leaving her in her green underwear, but the worst part, areas of her skin were black. Not surprising, she did take the full brunt of the attack.
Odissia was on her stomach, no longer in her fox form, she sluggishly lifted herself wincing with each movement. Her dress skirt was burned and all that was left was her midnight purple hot pants, same with her torso it showed a midnight purple undershirt that cut off at her stomach revealing her charred skin. Her weapons were strewn around her, unable to retrieve them due to the massive amounts of pain washing through her body.
"Sh-shit, th-that was painful…"
Present Time…
Ladon dashed to the side, avoiding another wave of fire from Kira. His usual lavender, now grey eyes, tracking all of Kira's movements as he bolted towards her swinging his blade has he passed her legs, striking each one trying to do some form of damage. Kira slammed her tail near Ladon and he ran along the length of her tail, his eyes never leaving her face.
Nymph was hovering a distance away from Kira, firing off a number of arrows to distract her from the others. Kira launched several wisps of fox fire at Nymph. She was easily strafing to avoid her attacks, her ponytail swinging as she moved and her tails deflecting some of the smaller wisp. Nymph pulled out three golden arrows, she strung them to the rope, and pulled back firing the arrows into the sky. The arrows turned into streaks of gold, Nymph brought her hand down as if she were slamming her hand on a desk, the golden beams immediately changed course and pierced the backs of her three teammates.
A golden beam of energy shot from their bodies and into the sky, taking color of their own individual auras, Ladon's was lavender, Gaia's was green, Odissia's was violet. The beams pierced the clouds in the sky and dissipated them.
Gaia's ring of weapons started whirling in a rapid tornado of blades, she jumped high in the air as pair of wings formed behind her, keeping her afloat in the air. She began launching spears from her tornado of weapons, every time one launched, another was created to replace it.
Kira began moving side to side, back and forth, evading the spears that shattered upon collision. For those she couldn't dodge she redirected them with a slap of her tail.
Odissia's tendrils were gripping the redirected spears and throwing them back Kira, forcing her to move even faster to avoid being pierced by the onslaught of them. She did not do it completely unscathed as she took several directs hits, each one eating at her aura.
Ladon was no longer on her, but instead he was dashing around her feet firing a succession of dust amplified bullets at any opening he could gain. She was quick, dexterous, and above all powerful, she was able more than 90% of the time able to redirect, block, and completely evade their attacks, but that was fine with them, they were just getting started anyway.
Ozpin and Glynda
Ozpin was smirking at the current battle, "Glynda, this is why you never doubt our student's abilities." He said plainly, but Glynda knew that he was immensely proud of every single one of their students. Proving no matter how overwhelming the odds maybe, they could rise to the challenge.
Glynda gave a small unnoticeable smile, but disappearing as quickly as it came, "Shall I send this footage to Ironwood?" She questioned, her calm, business composure back to normal.
Ozpin nodded, "It would be wise to inform him of this year's students." Glynda mimicked him and sent a live feed to Ironwood's personal scroll.
Elsewhere…
A shadowy figure, witnessed the current battles from a distance, observing the initiates as they battled against their powerful opponents, but she was more focused on one in particular, the pink haired girl that summoned a rift in her fox form. She removed her blade from its sheathe and swung the blade with a blood-red aura surrounding it, at nothing, summoning temporal rift and with a final glance at the pink-haired child, she walked through the rift as it closed behind her.
Adam
The sounds of flesh tearing and roars of agony echoed through the forest, Grimm bodies thumping against the ground were also heard, "Pathetic beast… I can't believe they are having troubles with weaklings like these." An Omega approached Adam from behind, but the beast didn't get much further and whimpered before falling over in several pieces.
"Tch… pathetic..." He said as he sheathed his blade.
He walked away leaving several piles of Omegas littering the area. "Where are you Ladon…"
AN: No new enemies, what? You want Adam's Data file? Well then, here it is;
Adam Taurus- High A-Class Taurus Faunus Baddie
We all know how he looks, so that is unnecessary.
He was originally part of the White Fang, but due to some circumstance he was employed by our hidden baddie I cameo-ed some chapters ago.
Adam is a lot more vicious than his canon counter-part, why? Because when you're hired by a super baddie, that doesn't accept slackers or mercy. You tend to learn real quickly to not piss her off or fail her in any way.
Plus, she puts all of her employees in intensive training because of reasons stated above.
His weapons are a Blade and Sheathe, otherwise known as Brush and Wilt, respectively I believe.
Real AN:
As you just read, it was the Faunas Quartet focus this chapter, with special guest of Adam, that chick at the end of the last episode, of course, Ozpin and Glynda and a shout out to Ironwood. Yeah, I went there.
So how did you like the fight scene? Was it to dragged on or not? No matter, I had fun writing it.
