Future Dragon: Rose Long (Season One)
Chapter/Episode 9: Zha's Tale Part 2
"Now we're cursed to walk this planet until the end of time..." Zhi Ya growled. "...And even then, neither of us knows what will happen..." Listening to this, Angela's eyes were wider than ever, and her mouth was open.
"Is there more?" She asked.
"I'd personally like to know how she got into the ground back in Hong Kong..." Rose said with a sarcastic smile.
"What's gotten into you?" Savannah asked in a hushed tone.
"Is there more?" Angela repeated. "Please finish telling me your story..."
Zhi Ya stared at Angela along with her adoptive daughter; quizzical looks on both of their faces. However, Zhi Ya finally complied. "Since you're so interested, fine. Yao Niang and I wandered around the world for centuries. We had to leave Salem..."
"First of all..." Yao Niang piped up. "...I hated it there..."
"But more importantly..." Zhi Ya took over for her daughter, taking back over the story. "...We couldn't let them know that we weren't dead. So, we searched the world for a new place to live for centuries. Finally, I got a good idea. Move back to Hong Kong..."
FLASHBACK
"What is this place?" Zhi Ya asked in Chinese as she and her daughter stood on the roof of a tall skyscraper in their dragon forms; both of them were looking down into the streets. "This is not the home I remember..."
"Times change, mother." Yao Niang said, also in Chinese. "It's been hundreds of years since we've been here. It's 1968, mother..." As she said this, she reached over and put her claws on her mother's shoulder.
Taking a deep breath, Zhi Ya nodded. "Well..." She said, this time in English. "...I'm sure we'll be able to find a place to stay. Come on..." With this, Zhi Ya flared her wings and jumped from the building, flapping her wings, allowing her to fly off into the night. After staring after her mother for a few seconds, Yao Niang did the exact same thing; diving off the building, she started to flap her wings, following her mother.
LINE BREAK
"This should do for now..." Zhi Ya said in English as she and her daughter stood in front of a cave in their dragon forms. "...There's no one around..." She looked from side-to-side. "...No one will find us. We should be safe here..."
Nodding at her mother's words, Yao Niang turned her head to the side, watching as her mother stepped into the cave, disappearing into the darkness seconds later. Then, Yao Niang followed her mother, stepping in and disappearing into the darkness as well.
LINE BREAK
It was late in the night, and Yao Niang was lying on her back in her human form with her eyes closed as she slept. However, even as she slept, her ear twitched as she picked up the sound of voices: "Lao-Shi, it's getting late..." The voice was coming from a woman, and Yao Niang's ear twitched twice more as the conversation continued: "...I think we should get back home..."
"Just a few more minutes, babe." The male, Lao-Shi replied.
Her eyes opening, Yao Niang groaned as she sat up. Getting to her feet, Yao Niang silently walked over the exit of the cave and looked up into the sky, where she could see two dragons flying toward the cave that they were in. The two dragons were still quite far from the cave, but Yao Niang could still hear their conversation.
"Lao-Shi, please." The woman finally said. "I'm getting tired of flying. You try doing it when you're carrying this belly."
"Okay, okay baby-cakes." Lao-Shi replied quickly. "Look, there's a cave. We can land there and rest for a few minutes. How does that sound?"
"Or more like the night..." The woman replied. "...I just need to rest, Lao-Shi."
Her eyes wide, Yao Niang watched as the two dragon started to descend, getting closer to the cave that she and her mother were hiding in. Quickly turning around, Yao Niang yelped and jumped back as she saw that Zhi Ya was standing in front of her. "Why are you up?" She asked in Chinese.
"Mother..." Yao Niang said hurriedly in Chinese. "...We need to get as far away from here as we can! Two dragons are heading down here. They need a place to stay for the night."
"Let me say if it is time for us to go." Zhi Ya told her adoptive daughter, switching to English as she put her hand on her daughter's shoulder, guiding her to the side. "To do that, I must be able to see them, though..."She then took a few more steps and looked out into the night, just as two dragon landed on the ground.
One of the dragons was a blue color, snake-shaped. He had a visible black beard, but that could not be seen a few seconds later when he turned his head to the side to look at his female companion. The female dragon was an aquamarine color and had short black hair that went down to her shoulders. However, what surprised Zhi Ya most of all was the size of her belly. The dragon was pregnant.
"Okay..." Still in English, Zhi Ya backed up over to her daughter again before she turned back around. "...We're leaving through the back..." She said.
"Can't we just leave through the front?" Yao Niang asked, also in English.
"No." Zhi Ya answered, still in English as the two of them started to walk toward the back of the cave. "They could attack us if we startle them. I don't want to fight back. One of the dragons is pregnant..."
"But what if there is no way out this way?"
"We'll make an exit, then..."
Meanwhile, the younger Lao-Shi and the Aquamarine-colored dragon walked into the cave. Putting her claws on her belly, the Aquamarine dragon sat down with a huff. "You okay, baby cakes?" Lao-Shi asked, smiling at her.
"I'm fine, Lao-Shi..." The Aquamarine dragon smiled back at the blue dragon. Then, she looked down at her belly, still smiling. "...I can't wait to have the baby..."
"Have you been thinking of possible names?" Lao-Shi asked, starting to kneel down so that he was sitting down in front of her.
The Aquamarine dragon smiled as she looked back up at Lao-Shi. "I thought you as my husband were supposed to help me with that. Or, am I wrong?"
"Nah, babe." Lao-Shi told her. "You can bet that Lucky Lao-Shi will help you out."
Smiling, the Aquamarine dragon was about to open her mouth, but before any words could come out, both Lao-Shi and his wife turned their heads to the side when they heard a loud explosion of a sound. "What was that?" The Aquamarine dragon asked.
"I don't know, babe." Lao-Shi said, turning head back to his wife so he could look at her. "I'm going to go check it out. You stay here."
"Lao-Shi..." The Aquamarine dragon tried to beg, even as Lao-Shi started to stand up.
"Don't worry, babe." Lao-Shi smiled down at her. "I'll be right back. You'll be safe here..."
"Lao-Shi..." The Aquamarine dragon tried again, but her plea fell on deaf ears as Lao-Shi turned and started to walk deeper into the cave.
Meanwhile, Zhi Ya and Yao Niang, who were both in dragon form, stood at the end of the cave on the other end, where there was now a large hole that would allow them to fly off into the night. "Come, daughter..." Zhi Ya said in Chinese as she turned her head to the side to look at her daughter.
She then started to walk out, followed by her daughter. However, Yao Niang froze when her ear twitched. Gasping, she whirled around, where she could see Lao-Shi in his dragon form. "...M...Mother..." Yao Niang reached over as she spoke in Chinese, putting her claws on Zhi Ya's shoulder. Zhi Ya quickly turned around, her eyes widening when she saw Lao-Shi.
"What are you two doing here?" Lao-Shi asked suspiciously.
"We were just leaving..." Zhi Ya told him in English. "...We needed shelter for the night, but now that you're here, my daughter and I are going to leave..."
"Aw..." A smile came onto Lao-Shi's face, and before Zhi Ya or Yao Niang knew what was happening, Lao-Shi assumed a fighting stance, extending his claws out to the two. "...So, you wanted to leave when Luck Lao-Shi came, you say? Well, all in Hong Kong know who I am, so you must too. You two must be criminals." As Lao-Shi said this, both Zhi Ya and Yao Niang could only stare at the blue dragon with a mixture of annoyance and shock on their faces. "Well, it's this dragon's job to stop all criminals. I can't let you go..."

BACK TO THE STORY/SHOW
"YAAAAAWWWWW!" With a battle cry, Lao-Shi started to charge toward the two dragons. Quickly, Zhi Ya scowled as she flapped her wings, lifting into the air. Quickly, she flew toward Lao-Shi, lashing out with her tail that had the orb at the tip. The orb hit Lao-Shi in the chest, throwing the grunting blue dragon back. However, as he flew back, Lao-Shi managed to reach out and grab Zhi Ya's tail.
Zhi Ya's eyes widened and she let out a gasp of shock as she started to fly back with Lao-Shi. The two dragons landed on the cold floor of the cave, Zhi Ya on top of Lao-Shi. The two dragon grunted as they struggled against each other, rolling to the side and down the cave.
Zhi Ya and Lao-Shi continued rolling across the floor of the cave until they reached the front where the Aquamarine dragon was sitting. As the Aquamarine dragon saw her husband land on his back with Zhi Ya on top of him.
"Lao-Shi, what are you doing?" She asked, her eyes wide as she slowly climbed to her feet.
However, her husband did not answer her. Instead, as he grunted, her managed to bring his tail up, hitting Zhi Ya in the belly. Grunting, the bright ube-colored dragon was thrown off of Lao-Shi, but she managed to catch herself on her feet. As Zhi Ya stumbled back, Lao-Shi managed to get to his feet.
"Oh..." Lao-Shi said, frowning. "...It's on, punk!"
"All I wanted was to leave here with my daughter..." Zhi Ya growled back. "...I didn't want to hurt your pregnant friend. But now I don't think I have a choice!" Then, with a growl, she lunged for Lao-Shi, who also lunged for Zhi Ya with a growl of his own. The two dragons met and Zhi Ya, while quickly punching him in the face, managed to wrap her tail around the blue dragon's arms, pulling them together and pinning them.
"HA!" Zhi Ya exclaimed. "You are no match for me, young man!" She gloated as Lao-Shi struggled, trying to pull away. "I'm older and more skilled!"
"Oh, yeah?" Lao-Shi retorted, a smile quickly and suddenly spreading onto his face as he stopped fighting. "That might be so, but I have new tricks up my sleeve, you old bag!" At that moment, he opened his eyes and blew out fire. Zhi Ya's eyes widened and she pulled her head down as the torrent of fire that Lao-Shi blew toward her.
Grunting, Zhi Ya unwrapped her tail from around Lao-Shi's arms, but before he could attack again, Zhi Ya slammed her tail into Lao-Shi's feet at the side. Gasping, Lao-Shi fell to the side, and as he rolled over onto his back, he could see Zhi Ya turning her head to the side and shouting: "Daughter!"
"No!" Lao-Shi shouted, trying to get back up. However, before he could even get into a sitting position, Yao Niang flew out of the darkness of the cave and swooped down, landing on top of Lao-Shi, grabbing his wrists and holding them down, even as he struggled.
"Good, my daughter." Zhi Ya said in Chinese as she looked down and watched her daughter holding down the struggling Lao-Shi. "Keep him busy while I take care of the girl..." Zhi Ya then turned around and flared her wings, flying to the ceiling of the cave as the Aquamarine dragon could only turn around as Zhi Ya landed right in front of her, slowly starting to advance on her.
"Please..." The Aquamarine dragon held up her claws in surrender. "...I don't know what you want, but please don't hurt me. I'm going to have a child..."
"I know..." Zhi Ya said as she took another step closer to the Aquamarine dragon, this time speaking in English. "...But don't blame me. Blame your husband. I didn't want to do this..." Then, with a grunt, Zhi Ya swung her tail toward the Aquamarine dragon, who could do nothing except just remain frozen in place.
The orb on the tip of Zhi Ya's tail hit the Aquamarine dragon right in the square of her belly; the helpless dragon screamed in pain as she was thrown off of her feet, flying backward and slamming against the wall of the cave with a thud. Moaning with pain, the Aquamarine dragon slid down into a sitting position, her head lowering as blood started to drip from her mouth.
"NO!" Lao-Shi shouted; even though he was being pinned down by Yao Niang, his head was still turned to the side, allowing him to see his wife getting hurt. "Bao!" Growling with anger, Lao-Shi looked up at Yao Niang and with his anger, found a new-found strength. He grunted as he forced his wrists up, fighting against his captor. As Yao Niang saw that Lao-Shi was fighting back, her look transformed into one of panic, finally shouting in surprise as Lao-Shi finally managed to fly into the air, throwing her off of him.
As Yao Niang grunted as she hit the wall of the cave, sliding down to the ground, Lao-Shi turned to face Zhi Ya, who was looking at Bao. Growling with anger, Lao-Shi flapped his wings and started to fly over to Zhi Ya. Just as he reached her, he quickly stopped in his tracks and swung his tail, hitting Zhi Ya right in the stomach.
Zhi Ya grunted and was thrown onto her back on the ground. However, Lao-Shi paid no attention to this; instead, he landed right in front of his injured wife, kneeling down in front of her, his eyes widening as he saw the blood that was rolling down her stomach, all coming from her mouth. Groaning, she managed to look up at him, her eyes filled with tears of pain. "Lao-Shi..." She managed. "...It hurts..."
"I know..." Lao-Shi told her. "...But it's going to be okay, babe. I'm going to-" However, before he could finish, Lao-Shi was forced to stand up and turn around as he heard angry growls. Zhi Ya was standing again, and she looked angry. Scowling, Lao-Shi quickly opened his mouth and blew out a torrent of fire. The fire hit the evil dragon, throwing her back against the wall. Closing his mouth, Lao-Shi then looked up at the ceiling of the cave and opened his mouth, blowing out a torrent of fire. The fire went up to the ceiling and hit it, causing a big explosion that caused the entire cave to shake.
"Come on, Bao..." Lao-Shi said softly as he turned back around to kneel down in front of his wife as rocks from the ceiling fell to the cave floor. "...We don't have much time. This whole place is comin' down. I gotta get you out of here so that you'll be okay. But I'm going to need your help..." He added as he put his claws on her shoulder as more rocks came down. "...I need you to assume your human form..."
"Okay..." Bao managed.
As more rocks from the ceiling came crashing down, Zhi Ya groaned as she managed to get to her feet, just in time to see a flash of blue light coming from where Lao-Shi was kneeling. The next thing Zhi Ya knew, Lao-Shi turned and lapped his wings, flying out of the cave with his human wife in his arms.
Zhi Ya turned her head to the side, following the two as they left, a scowl appearing on her face. However, she turned her attention back to the inside of the cave when she heard the sound of her daughter's groaning. Groaning in pain, Yao Niang managed to get to her feet. "Mother..." She muttered in Chinese.
"This isn't going to be good..." Zhi Ya returned also in Chinese. "...My daughter, get out of here..."
Just as Zhi Ya said this, the rest of the roof of the cave gave way, coming down. Closing her eyes, Zhi Ya slammed her tail against the ground, cracking into the ground, causing dust to start to surround her. "...Save yourself..."She told her daughter in Chinese. Then, she jumped back into the dust cloud, as if about to land on her back.
Amongst the falling debris, Yao Niang slowly made her way to where her mother once stood. As she reached the spot, she looked down and her eyes widened as she saw that her mother was lying beneath the dirt, her skeletal form showing.
"Mother?" Yao Niang asked in Chinese, only to quickly lift her head up, her eyes widening in fright at the rest of the roof started to fall down onto her. Seconds later, Yao Niang was in darkness.
END FLASHBACK
"So that's why you were buried and rotting..." Rose spoke up, her eyes just as wide as Angela's were. "...But where was your daughter?"
Zhi Ya turned her head to the side to glance at the two other prisoners before she turned her head in the other direction, looking directly at her daughter. "I don't know what happened next." She said. "But my daughter does..."
FLASHBACK
The cave had completely collapsed and was now nothing but a large pile of heavy rocks. However, a rumbling came the top and seconds later, an Orchid-colored hand with claws burst through the top of the pile. Grunting, Yao Niang managed to push her head up and out of the rubble. Panting, she grunted as she pulled her other arm and clawed hand out. Then, the Orchid-colored dragon started to crawl downward down the side, dragging the rest of her body out of the rubble.
Yao Niang was panting by the time that she lied down on the ground, and she was so busy trying to calm herself down that she didn't notice the two dragons that were flying toward the spot. That was, until the two dragons landed at her side. Sensing their presence, Yao Niang turned her head to the side, her eyes widening as she saw a Cambridge Blue-colored dragon and a Carnelian-colored dragon.
As the Carnelian dragon turned his head to the side and looked at the collapsed cave, the Cambridge Blue dragon spoke to him: "This is the spot that Lao-Shi mentioned..." As the Cambridge Blue said this, he realized that Yao Niang was lying before them. "...Councilor." He said, making the Carnelian dragon turn his head back to normal, where he spotted Yao Niang.
"Councilor, that dragon matches Lao-Shi's description of one of the dragons."
Before Yao Niang could do anything, the Carnelian dragon knelt down beside her, staring down into the Orchid dragon's eyes. "Were you the one that put his one true love in the hospital?" He asked darkly.
LINE BREAK
Yao Niang now sat in the middle of a prison cell. Her scaly knees were pressed up to her scaly belly; to keep them there, Yao Niang kept her arms wrapped around her legs as she stared at the wall.
However, she turned her head to the side when she heard the sound of footsteps following the sound of a closing prison gate. The next thing she knew, the Carnelian dragon stopped in front of her cell door. The dragon just looked t Yao Niang through the bars of the cell with an unreadable look on his face. Then, after about thirty seconds, he spoke: "My name is Councilor Zkryo." He said. "I am a member of the Dragon Council. I just thought that you would like to know that Bao Chun, the dragon that your mother attacked, died last night from her injuries. Fortunately, before she passed on, she managed to give birth to her child, who is perfectly fine..."
"Why are you telling me this?" Yao Niang asked in English.
"The Council has searched the rubble for your mother." Zkryo told her, completely ignoring her question. "They found nothing. It has been decided that it is time to call off the search."
"I know you didn't come all the way here to just tell me that..."
"You're right." The Dragon Councilor said. "I actually came here to inform you that it has been decided on is what to become of you..."
"What?"
"At the end of the week..." Zkryo informed her. "...You are to be executed."
END FLASHBACK
"So I was executed..." As Yao Niang finished telling her part of the story, her scaly arms were crossed. "...The joke was on them, seeing as I can't die."
"But that's why you were in the graveyard." Savannah spoke up. "That's where you were buried."
"Yes..." Yao Niang growled, lowering her arms. "...Being buried alive for several decades was an unfortunate part of surviving..."
"And it took me several years to find you after I managed to resurface." Zhi Ya said as she put her claws on her adoptive daughter's shoulder. "But now I have finally found you. And now that I have, we are going to make amends with our dark master." Then, her eyes narrowed. "So now you all know. I take it you're satisfied, girl?"
"Yes." Angela told her.
"Good." As she said this, taking her claws off of Yao Niang's shoulder, an evil grin came onto Zhi Ya's face. "Then let us begin."

BACK TO THE STORY/SHOW
Still smiling, Zhi Ya arrived at the table in front of her bowl with Yao Niang at her side. Taking the bowl in her claws, Zhi Ya lifted it off of the table. "Now we begin..." she said. "...Dark Master, I know that we have not communicated in a long while, but my daughter and I have remained loyal to you."
As she said this, Savannah pushed against the chains that bound her to Rose. "Rose..." She said. "...I don't know about you, but I don't want to be sacrificed to the Underworld..."
"And now..." Zhi Ya continued, completely oblivious to Savannah's struggling from behind. "...My daughter and I have three offerings for you. Including one that is a follower of your eternal enemy." As she said this, Yao Niang reached down to the table and held up Angela's cross. As she dangled it over the bowl, the bowl started to shake in Zhi Ya's claws as black liquid appeared from thin air, filling to the top in a swirl.
"Rose..." Savannah tried again to talk to her fellow captive. Rose said nothing; instead, she slowly scanned the room, hoping to find something that could help her and Savannah get free. Finally, her eyes fell on the SIG, which was only a few inches away from her chained hand. Immediately, Rose grunted as she slowly tried to move her and Savannah's hand toward the forgotten weapon.
However, Savannah seemed to notice her hand moving behind her. "Rose?" She asked, turning her head to the side.
"Shh..." Rose whispered. "...I'm trying to reach Lexy's gun..."
Just as Rose whispered this, Zhi Ya started cackling evilly as she stared into the bowl. "Excellent!" She said in English as she turned her head to the side, looking at her daughter. "Go get the girl in the chair! It's time!"
"Uh, Rose..." Savannah's eyes were wide with worry as she watched Yao Niang walk over to Angela. "...Rose, please hurry..." She pleaded as Rose continued to grunt as she tried to reach out to the SIG with her chained hand.
However, Yao Niang reached Angela; As she continued to struggle toward the gun, Rose slowly turned her head to the side to see Yao Niang walk to the back of the chair; quickly, the Orchid dragon brought her claws up and then brought them down, slicing through the chains, the chains holding Angela's back against the chair sliding into her lap.
"No Unicorn Horn..." Rose muttered as she slowly turned her head back to the gun.
"What?" Savannah asked as she watched Yao Niang start to slice through the chains keeping Angela's left wrist the armrest.
"No Unicorn Horn!" Rose repeated. "It means these chains aren't backed up! Savannah, listen to me..." She said, knowing that Savannah couldn't take her eyes off of Yao Niang and Angela. The chains holding Angela's right wrist to the armrest fell away as Yao Niang knelt down and slashed through the chains binding her ankles.
"...Savannah, listen..." Rose repeated as Savannah watched Yao Niang force Angela out of the chair by the collar of her shirt, starting to walk her over to where Zhi Ya was standing. As Yao Niang and Angela reached the end of the table, Zhi Ya grinned as she reverted to her human form.
"You need this..." Yao Niang said as she stepped up to the table and grabbed the cross. Turning back around, she lowered it down so it slid around Angela's head and down to her neck.
"Good..." Zhi Ya said in English as she started to reach into the top of her purple rags. "...Now restrain her..." Yao Niang nodded and walked around Angela; reaching the girl's back, Yao Niang reached out and grabbed both of Angela's arm and held them out, restraining the girl as Zhi Ya pulled her hand out of her rags, holding her dagger. Holding it in one hand, she used her other hand to scoot the bowl closer to the edge of the table.
"...Bend her over so that when I slit her throat, her blood will land in the bowl." Zhi Ya ordered, still in English.
"Yes, mother." Yao Niang replied in English.
"Savannah, listen to me..." Rose said as Savannah watched Yao Niang bend Angela over the table and the bowl. "...We need to go dragon. If we do, the chains will break!"
"Wh..." Savannah was shocked. "...Wh...Why didn't you say that earlier?!" Narrowing her eyes, Savannah transformed into her dragon form in a bright light, the chains binding her upper body and her wrists shattering to many pieces.
Over at the table, Zhi Ya's eyes widened and she whirled to the side in time to see a growling dragon Savannah flying toward her. As Savannah reached Zhi Ya, the angry Bondi Blue dragon slammed her tail into Zhi Ya's chest. Zhi Ya grunted as she was thrown off of her feet, dropping her dagger and flying over the table. However, Zhi Ya was able to stop her fly backward by transforming into her bright ube dragon form in a bright light.
Growling, Zhi Ya started to fly toward Savannah, but Savannah turned and instead flew toward Angela and Yao Niang. Her eyes wide, Yao Niang let go of Angela's arm; with a mighty flap, she flew up into the air.
Growling, Zhi Ya turned her head to the side to look at Savannah as she landed at Angela's side. However, before Zhi Ya could do anything, a loud bang noise filled the room and Zhi Ya grunted as the left side of her body jerked back. Her eyes filled with pain, Zhi Ya looked in front of her and could see Rose, in her human form, pointing the SIG right at her chest. A gasp of pain escaping her, Zhi Ya's scales started to liquify, dropping to the floor in a puddle, leaving only her bones, which then combusted.
Knowing the threat was not yet gone, Rose slowly started to walk over to Savannah and Angela, while slowly bending her arms up so that her gun was ready but not being pointed at anyone. "Savannah..." She asked as she neared them. "...Where's the other one?"
"I don't know, Rose..." Savannah answered as Rose reached them, instead turning to the side and putting her claws on Angela's shoulder. "...Are you okay?" She asked.
"Let me take a look at her..." Rose volunteered. Savannah must have been okay with this, for she stepped to the side, allowing Rose to slowly step up to her. "...Angela?" This got a response, and Angela slowly turned to the side, looking at Rose. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." Angela answered. "I'm fine. Thanks to you guys." To show Rose that she wasn't lying, Angela gave her a sincere smile.
However, at that moment, all three could hear the sound of flapping wings. Angela quickly turned the side, while Rose did so at a slower pace, all three of them watching as Yao Niang landed on the ground, her tail snagging her mother's tail. Yao Niang grinned as she lifted her tail up, holding the dagger with it. However, her smile only widened as Rose slowly managed to point the SIG at her.
"Oh please..." She said in English. "...I thought you were paying attention. My mother and I can't die! The only way we could die is if our souls were to be cast into the River Styx."
"We'll see about that." Rose replied as she slowly pulled one of her hands away from the SIG and slowly reached over to the cross around Angela's neck.
"Rose, what are you doing?" Angela asked, glancing down as Rose grabbed the cross and slowly started to lift it up, lifting it off of her.
"Just work with me." Rose told her firmly as she slowly started to pull the cross closer to the SIG. With a confused look on her face, Angela turned her head to the side just in time to hear a click coming from the SIG as the cartridge dropped out of the gun and to the floor with a clang.
"Rose..." Angela tried.
"Let's see how you like the symbol of everything that your dark master detests inside your body." Rose said as she slowly started to load the cross into SIG.
Yao Niang had a bewildered look on her face for a few seconds as she watched Rose do this, but this look soon faded as her face contorted into a sneer. Growling, Yao Niang started to charge toward the three of them as quickly as she could.
However, none of them reacted, and Rose pulled the trigger of the SIG. As it had been said, the hole at the end of the barrel grew in size and length, allowing the cross to shoot out of the weapon.
The cross soared across the room until it met Yao Niang's chest. Yao Niang grunted and came to a stop as the cross hit her; Yao Niang's eyes widened and her mouth opened, a pained groan coming out of her mouth. Stumbling back, Yao Niang managed to look down at her chest to see that the cross had completely entered her chest, piercing her heart as the chain dangled down her chest and going down to her belly.
Her tail going limp and dropping the dagger, Yao Niang looked back up at Rose, Savannah and Angela, who stared back at her with unreadable looks on their faces. "I feel..." Yao Niang managed in English. "...I feel...I feel...I feel funny..."
At that moment, Yao Niang started to shout in pain as the area on her chest where the cross entered started to sizzle and bubble. As she screamed in agony, Yao Niang stumbled back until she reached the table; at that point, she fell over onto the table on her back, knocking over the bowl and making it drop to the floor.
However, neither Savannah, Rose nor Angela paid attention to the bowl, for at that moment, Yao Niang's agonized screams became more intense as the area of her chest where the cross was imbedded burst into flames. Then, her stomach burst into flames, then her feet, then her legs, then her hands and claws, then her arms, then her tail, then the rest of her chest, and finally, her head.
After a few seconds of her body just burning, Yao Niang still screaming, her body started to come under effect of a white light, an almost heavenly light, that started to consume her engulfed in flames body.
With wide eyes, Savannah, Rose and Angela all watched as the bright light started to extinguish the flames that engulfed Yao Niang; regardless, she was still screaming in agony. However, from within the bright white light, Yao Niang's form became visible once again as it started to blacken as she screamed. With one final scream, Yao Niang combusted, her form bursting into thousands of little black pieces that flew everywhere, making Rose close her eyes and Savannah and Angela cover their eyes as the pieces pelted the floor.
Rose slowly opened her eyes while Savannah and Angela lowered their arms. "Whoa..." Savannah muttered as Angela started to walk over to the table. As Angela reached the table, she looked down just in time to see the white light fade, leaving behind her cross.
Smiling slightly, Angela reached down and picked up her cross by its chain in both of her hands. Sliding it back over her neck, she turned around to see that Rose and Savannah were still standing next to each other; Rose had lowered the gun to her side.
"We should get going." Angela told them. "Zhi Ya will be back soon..."
Nodding in agreement, Savannah started to walk over to Angela, leaving Rose behind. "Uh..." Rose slowly started to speak up, making Savannah stop in her tracks and turn around.
"What, Rose?" She asked.
"Do you think we could go into the next hall and get that spear thing back?" Rose asked.
LINE BREAK
Sometime later, the bones of Zhi Ya, started to assemble, as well as the pieces of her orb. As soon as her skeleton was finished reforming, the newly fixed orb reattached itself to the tip of her tail as her scales returned.
Opening her eyes, Zhi Ya sat up with a groan. "Yao Niang?" She asked in Chinese, turning her head to the side, only to find no sign of her. "Daughter?' Standing up on her feet, Zhi Ya looked around the room, but still found no sign of her adoptive daughter.
"Yao Niang?" She asked again in Chinese, her eyes filling with worry.
The bright ube-colored dragon started to walk around the room, looking around it, only to find that the bowl was on the floor. Turning to the side and getting on her knees, Zhi Ya reached down to the bowl and started to lift it up.
However, as Zhi Ya lifted the bowl up, some of the black liquid came out of the bowl and started to shoot up toward Zhi Ya, morphing into a hand on its way toward her. As soon as it finished morphing, the hand wrapped around Zhi Ya's neck, making the bright ube dragon's eyes widen in shock as she gasped in surprise.
