After checking out a troll hoard, Bilbo had received a sword from Gandalf. He stared at it, completely unsure. That's when Thorin told everyone that someone was coming. Everyone armed themselves, apart from a vulnerable Gemma. Kili wrapped his arm tightly around her waist, pulling her closer to his body.
Bilbo looked absolutely petrified at this stage.
"Thieves, fire, murder!" yelled a rather rough looking man.
"Radagast! It's Radagast the brown" said Gandalf, approaching him. Gemma remembered how Gandalf had spoke about him before. She smiled a little at his appearance. He was adorable!
His eyebrows were extremely bushy. Kili loosened his grip on Gemma's waist, though not completely. He didn't know this man, therefore he didn't trust him.
"Well..what on earth are you doing here?" asked Gandalf.
"I was looking for you, Gandalf. Something's wrong, something's terribly wrong!" exclaimed Radagast.
"Yes?" asked Gandalf, looking slightly confused.
The man paused, Gemma was thinking he had forgotten, and she was correct in thinking this.
"Just give me a minute.." said Radagast "Oh I had a thought and now I've lost it. It was right there on the tip of my tongue".
Gemma noticed the man was beginning to sound weird, and cocked her head slightly to the side.
"Oh..it's not a thought at all.. it's a silly old.." Gandalf gently pulled a stick insect from the wizards mouth. "Stick insect" finished Radagast, holding out his hand. Gandalf let go of the insect and it slithered around in Radagast's hand.
Everyone looked at him oddly. He sure was silly.
Gemma giggled and looked up at her lover, who smiled a little.

Gandalf told everyone to relax for a while. Gemma, Kili and Fili sat together having a nice chat about Hobbiton.
"Do you miss Bag-end?" asked Fili.
Gemma thought whether or not yes or no was the correct answer..she then decided to answer honestly.
"I suppose..I miss Bell the most...I miss her children and her husband Hamfast..".
"Who's Bell?" asked Fili, raising an eyebrow. "Oh she's my best friend! excuse me" giggled Gemma. Fili chuckled "I see, well hopefully someday you can return to her".
Gemma thought about it. What if herself and Kili were split up? She wouldn't be able to last very long without going to find him.
She wanted to stay with him in Erebor when they reclaimed it, but she wasn't sure if Thorin would let her stay.
That's if they reclaimed it.
Suddenly, they all heard an animal howling. "What's that? Was that a wolf? are there wolves out there?" asked Bilbo worriedly. He had been sitting there on his own staring at his new sword. He had refused to sit with Gemma, Fili and Kili.
"A wolf? no, that is not a wolf" said Bofur. That's when a huge animal that Gemma could not identify leaped from up above and landed on one of the dwarves. Gemma screamed a little, but they were soon killed. "Warg scouts..which means an Orc pack is not far behind" announced Thorin.
"Orc pack?" asked Bilbo, looking over at a frightened Gemma. That was scary, she had never seen anything that big before!
"Who did you tell about your quest beyond your kin? asked Gandalf. "No one" answered Thorin. "Who did you tell!?" pushed Gandalf. No one,I swear!" exclaimed Thorin "what in Durin's name is going on?" he then asked.
"You are being hunted!" said Gandalf.
"We have to get out of here" said Dwalin quietly, though everyone heard him. "We can't, we have no ponies. They bolted!" said Ori.
Gemma heard the wargs howling in the distance and she snuggled into Kili.
Kili held onto her tightly and whispered "It's alright Gem, just stick with me. I'll protect you".
Gemma nodded, then Radagast told everyone he would draw them off.
"These are Gundabad wargs..they will outrun you" said Gandalf, turning to him. "These are Rhosgobel rabbits..I'd like to see them try" smirked Radagast.

A few minutes later, the Dwarves and Bilbo and Gemma were rushing out in the plains. Radagast was managing to successfully draw them off, as of then.
Gemma was worried about him. He seemed so nice, and she was afraid he would be killed. She stuck by Kili, it was his orders.
They all rushed between rocks, absolutely petrified.
As they ran from one rock, Gemma heard Thorin ask Gandalf where he was leading them.
Gandalf ignored him, and rushed passed him.
As they stopped by a rock, an orc and his warg jumped up onto the rock. Gemma stopped her breathing, and noticed Thorin nod to Kili, who took out his bow and arrow.
Gemma shook her head and Kili smiled a little, reassuring her. He shot the warg , and then it fell down in front of the company.
Gemma gasped a little, and the orc stood up to attack them.
Thorin killed the orc, and then they all noticed the orcs and wargs had heard and were approaching.
"move..run!" exclaimed Gandalf, and everyone began to run. Kili held onto Gemma's hand tightly as they ran. He wasn't going to let her be hurt.
As they seemed surrounded a while later, Thorin ordered Kili to shoot the orcs and wargs. Kili handed Gemma over to Bilbo, who brought her closer to him. She was crying with fright, she had never been this close to death before.
"Where's Gandalf!" exclaimed Dori.
"He's abandoned us!" yelled Dwalin.
Suddenly, they heard Gandalf yell "this way you fools!".
He had found an escape route! Gemma smiled happily, followed the Company as they slid down the slope.
When Gemma was down she noticed Kili wasn't there, and began to cry into Bilbo again. She was delighted to hear Thorin shout for Kili to run, and then he slid down the slope. As soon as he seen the tears in his lovers eyes, Kili became frightened. Had she been hurt?
He rushed over to her, and Bilbo let her go, as Kili wrapped his arms around her. "Are you hurt, my love?" he asked. "no" she shook her head as she spoke. "Then what? what's the matter, darling?".
"I though-I thought you were going to die" she wailed. "I'm okay, It's okay, Gem" he said, cradling her back and forth "I will never leave you alone..I promise".
Gemma felt relieved. "I promise I won't leave you alone either".
Kili smiled and Bilbo watched happily. He felt so happy for his little sister, and he hoped that one day he could be an uncle.
He would have loved to be an uncle, though he wasn't too fond of the thought of a baby ruining their perfectly clean house. He was one hundred percent certain though, that he would eventually get used to it.
he imagined what the baby would look like. In his eyes, the baby would have Kili's hair and Gemma's eyes. Brown hair and blue eyes was a good mixture, he thought.
That's when a horn blowing shook him from his thoughts. Gemma gasped a little, but soon realized it was someone there to help them. An orc suddenly fell down into the silent hole they were in, and Gandalf poked it with his staff to ensure it was no longer alive.
Thorin walked over to the corpse and yanked out the arrow. "Elves" he said, throwing the arrow onto the ground.
"I cannot see where the pathway leads..do we follow it or no?" asked Dwalin.
"Follow it of course" said Bofur, and they all began to walk off.
They followed fhe trail, until Gemma noticed a blue sky above them.
she looked up, feeling the exact same feeling she had felt visiting Rivendell.
that's when she realised..she was in rivendell!
She smiled widely, giggling a little. Kili looked at her and raised an eyebrow, but then looked at the beautiful city before him. He was so mezmerized that he totally forgot how much his uncle hated elves...then it hit him once again.
"the valley of Imlardis...In the common tongue it's known by another name" said Gandalf. "Rivendell" said Bilbo in a low voice. He thought it looked so beautiful!
"Here lies the last homely house East of the sea" continued Gandalf.
kili and Gemma noticed Thorin approaching Gandalf. H didn't look very happy, they noted.
"this was your plan all along. To seek refuge with our enemy" he said.
"you have no enemies here, Thorin Oakenshield. The only ill will to be found in this valley is that which you bring yourself".
"you think the elves will give our quest their blessing..? They will try to stop us" continued Thorin.
"of course they will. But we have questions that need to be answered. If we are to be successful, this will need to be handled with tact..and respect..and no small degree of charm".
They walked down the steps, and over bridges with beautiful rivers flowing beneath them..and soon they reached another flight of steps, in which an elf came down.
"Mithrandir" said the elf, and Gemma recognized his voice..it was Lindir!
"Ahh Lindir" said Gandalf.
Lindir began to speak in Elvish to Gandalf.
"I must speak with Lord Elrond" said Gandalf,
"My lord Elrond is not here" replied Lindir.
"not here? Where is he?" Asked Gandalf.
suddenly, a horn began to blow and elves on horses were approaching them. Thorin began to shout in Dwarvish and yelled "close ranks!". Bofur grabbed Bilbo and threw him into the center of the circle they had created and Kili done the same to Gemma.
Gemma couldn't stop giggling. They were so silly. It was only Lord Elrond and his men,

"Gandalf" smiled Elrond.
"Lord Elrond".
