Chapter 9

B.P.O.V.

"Edward Cullen wasn't a teacher. He was a student just like you and-and…" He trailed off as he saw her face. She was not comprehending what he was saying. At all.

"Jacob-I do not know you other than our playing together as kids. I don't know what you're on but you are definitely losing it. How exactly do you know about me and Mr. Cullen?"

"Ok. I can see we'll have to start from the beginning."

E.P.O.V.

"Edward. Be careful. Don't push this, but don't reject it. I'm trying to figure out what's actually going on." Alice was rambling in his ear over the phone. He still felt the intense heat all over his body and was trying to calm his adrenaline down, which, when you were technically undead, was pretty hard to do.

"Alice, what are you trying to figure out?" He tucked his shirt back in and then began trying to deal with his always untamed hair.

"Edward do you listen at all? There is something happening. Or maybe it's already happened. Have you ever heard of a way to wipe memories? And then plant new ones? In creatures like us?" She asked him earnestly.

"Alice, that's impossible. We're supposed to be unaffected by drugs or anything of the like."

"According to Carlisle it does exist. But the catch is that it's a special power. And it only exists in one being. Carlisle doesn't understand why she's here though." Alice became even more somber.

"Alice, who is here?"

B.P.O.V.

"Jacob, I don't understand. Ok. I'll admit that some weird things have been happening. I feel like I know Edward-I mean Mr. Cullen. I feel like I knew him really well and when we kissed I-" She trailed off as she looked up at Jacob.

His face came alight again. "Wait, Bella. What happened when you kissed him? Did you see something?"

"Well maybe. It was like a vision of another life. But it felt like déjà vu. Everything was suddenly familiar. I saw something, but I must have been imagining it." She insisted. Jacob smiled and talked animatedly with his hands.

"Bella-no, you did see something. You remembered something!" He rushed at her suddenly and pulling her to him kissed her deeply.

Suddenly a feeling of heat and belonging and familiarity filled her. She also felt a pang of guilt as she saw a vision of two creatures facing off with her in between. As her body responded to his kiss, and she subconsciously encouraged his kiss, partly because of her desire resurfacing as well as her desperation to remember. She felt cold air around her and the air was flowing all around as if they were at some great height and she felt the burning of his lips. Suddenly a wolf came into her vision. She jumped away as the wolf lunged forward and suddenly it was gone.

As she looked up at Jacob she felt a small pang of anger at her being taken advantage of. "Why does everyone think they can kiss me whenever they damn feel like it?" She asked loudly. As she got up she felt the anger rise even more when she saw his smirk. "Don't make me hit you." As soon as she said this her whole right hand throbbed with pain as though her senses were remembering something.

"You did that before. I hit you for that before."
