Dante's POV
Beacon Academy
4:00 PM
Dante, now tired from standing in the amphitheatre for too long, just started following Ruby and the others back to the dining hall so they could get some. But while Dante was still busying dragging his tired body back towards the dining hall, Ruby and the others just grouped with one another and started cheering a bit, knowing that they are now official students of Beacon Academy.
On the other hand, Dante just saw students like Weiss and Blake showing no concern about the celebration. Especially Weiss since she seemed a bit mind-boggled. Likely due to the fact that she was not the leader of the team.
Well, that's what Dante presumed.
"Woo! We did it!" Ruby cheered.
"See? Told you that you could do it sis." Yang said while patting her sister on the back.
Meanwhile, Dante turned towards JNPR, only to see that they had a similar reaction.
"Man...it feels kind of weird to be a leader." Jaune said while still being shocked at the outcome.
"You'll be a great leader." Pyrrha said while gently patting his back.
"Besides, you'll get use to it after a few months." Nora said.
"Perhaps." Jaune said.
Dante just continued listening until both conversations started overlapping one another. But throughout those two conversations and a bit of daydreaming, Dante just heard Ruby calling his name.
"Dante?" Ruby said.
"What?" Dante said while snapping out of his little daydream. "I'm listening."
"So, what's your opinion on this whole initiation?" Ruby asked.
"In all honesty, it went alright." Dante said. "Not only was I able to see you guys fight off some Grimm, but you eventually got the role as the leader of your team. So it's safe to say that it went pretty well."
"Hm...maybe you're right." Ruby said.
"C'mon sis, I told you not to worry about it. You'll do fine." Yang said.
"But for now, let's not focus on these things. It is only the first day after all." Dante said. "Besides, let's just sit down, get some dinner, and enjoy ourselves. And maybe while we're eating, if you guys have any more questions, you can just ask."
"Okay!" Ruby said.
Beacon - Dining Hall
4:10 PM
Eventually, Dante and the others finally arrived at the dining hall. After finding some available seats for the nine of them, they just sat down and set their stuff down.
"So, what's available for dinner?" Dante asked.
"If I recall, Glynda said that we're having pizza...again." Ruby said. "Though she also said this will be the last time we have this."
"Aw…" Dante said. "The pizza here was good though…"
"I know right?" Yang said.
"Ah well, it's not my problem." Dante said. "Come on. Let's try to get some food."
Nodding as a response, Ruby and the others got out of their seats and started getting their food.
10 minutes later…
At last, Dante and the others got their trays of pizza and brought it back to their tables. Of course, Dante, being the usual pizza lover he is, was seen carrying at least three trays of pizza, totalling to over nine slices of pizza.
Ruby and the others can't help but look at the gigantic stack of trays Dante was holding, considering it's pretty rare to see someone eat this much pizza slices.
But for Dante, it was just like any other dinner.
"You sure you could eat all of that?" Jaune asked Dante while glancing at the trays.
"Pfft? This? This is nothing." Dante said while grabbing a slice and placing it in his mouth.
"Well...suit yourself." Jaune said.
Dante and the others just placed their trays on their previous spot, sat down, and started eating their slices of pizza.
"So, do you guys have any questions?" Dante asked. "Or...did you already ask every single question?"
"Nope. I think that's enough." Ruby said.
"Ah...that's good to hear." Dante said.
Dante, knowing that there are no more questions asked, started grabbing his second slice and placed it in his mouth. But as Dante was grabbing his first slice, he just saw Weiss with a pretty disappointed face. Seeing this, Dante just slid towards Weiss and just nudged her in the arm, catching her attention.
"Something bothering you?" Dante muffled.
"What? Oh...it's nothing." Weiss responded.
"You sure? Cause you had that same face ever since the initiation ended." Dante pointed out.
"Don't worry. Nothing's bothering me." Weiss said.
The way Weiss just said that made Dante really unconvinced; Knowing this would go nowhere, Dante decided to shrug it off.
"Well...suit yourself…" Dante said before turning away.
Dante proceeded to turn back towards the group and grabbed his third slice of pizza. He then turned towards the other students, only to see Blake was feeling bored out of her mind. But seeing this, Dante just decided to let it slide. After all, if he talked to Blake, he would probably just have the same response Weiss gave to him recently. So instead, Dante decided to just ignore it and continued to eat his slice of pizza.
"So Dante, what are you going to do once all of this is over?" Jaune asked, catching Dante's attention.
"Oh, you know...just return to my store." Dante responded. "Maybe if you guys aren't busy, you can visit me some time in the future."
"You could even help us hunt some Grimm for an assignment." Rudy said while nudging Dante.
"Perhaps...if you have the cash that is." Dante said.
"Do we get a discount?" Yang asked.
"Hell no!" Dante said. "Even though I know you guys, you are still customers to me."
"Aw…" Ruby muttered. "It was worth a try."
"It was." Dante said while grabbing his fourth slice of pizza.
3 hours later…
Dante and the others were finally done eating their slices of pizza. But even though Ruby and the others were full from all that food, Dante looked like as if he hate nothing for the past few hours.
"Phew...I'm stuffed." Jaune said while patting his stomach.
"Please...it wasn't that much." Dante said.
"Are you seriously not full yet?" Yang asked.
"No. I could still go for a few slices." Dante responded.
"My God…" Jaune muttered.
"Anyways, it's getting late." Dante said. "You guys get some rest, and get ready for tomorrow. You guys are Huntsman after all…"
"Alright." Ruby said. "We'll see you again!"
"Don't mention it kid." Dante said while walking back a bit.
"Dante!" Yang called out, prompting him to turn around.
"Hm?" Dante mumbled.
"How about a rematch once we meet again?" Yang asked.
"...Sure." Dante said while smirking a bit.
Hearing this, Yang can't help but smirk at the response as well.
Ruby and the others grabbed their empty trays, and started exiting the dining hall. By himself, Dante just made his way out of the dining hall as well and started heading to a Bullhead back to Vale.
Vergil's POV
Mistral - Lower Levels
8:00 PM
Vergil passed through most of the entrances and finally made it to the lower levels of Mistral. Passing through the streets, Vergil just saw numerous things that could classified as "sketchy". Drug dealers. Drunkards. Thieves. Or even your typical bandits.
Vergil, not showing any concern for these petty things, just continued walking forward until he finally reached the entrance to the upper levels of Mistral.
"Stop right there!" A voice said behind Vergil.
He turned towards the noise, only to see two bandits pointing their guns towards him.
"If you plan on leaving the slums of Mistral, you have to pay a fee." Bandit 1 said.
"So…" Bandit 2 said. "Empty your pockets and– "
But without breaking a sweat, Vergil swung Yamato towards the two bandits. Vergil nonchalantly turned away from the bandits and sheathed Yamato. With that done, the two bandits were horizontally bisected, killing them while leaving a mass of blood on the floor.
Vergil, rolling his eyes, just started exiting the slums of Mistral and continued his path towards the upper portion of Mistral.
Mistral - Upper City
8:30 PM
Vergil exited the slums and finally saw the entrance to the other sector. Being in the slums for a while, he had to cover his eyes until they finally adjusted to the light. But once they adjusted, Vergil lowered his hand and saw how the upper city looked like.
Just like the town Vergil previously visited, the upper city had an oriental style to it. To add to the architecture, it was filled to the brim with rivers, waterfalls, and numerous moss filled mountainsides.
"This is quite the scenery." Vergil thought. "Let's see what's available."
Continuing to gaze at the scenery, Vergil walked through numerous building while looking for any stores that are still open.
10 minutes later…
Unfortunately, there were not that many stores open at this time. Every single store Vergil tried entering just started closing for the night, or they were already closed. There was absolutely nothing else to look for; only the 24/7 inns for anyone staying for the night. But stumbling even more, Vergil finally reached a 24/7 library that he could look at for a while.
"About time I found something in this place…" Vergil thought while entering the library.
Mistral - Library
8:40 PM
Vergil looked around the library, only to see if filled with numerous bookshelves that he could read for hours. Putting Yamato away, Vergil walked towards nonfiction section, approached the shelf labelled "Q-V" and started skimming through the covers.
One book in particular caught his attention. Likely since it was much slimmer to the books surrounding it, as if it was just a children's book. Curious, Vergil decided to pull out this book to see what it was about.
Reading the cover, it was called "Story of the Seasons".
Vergil opened the cover and noticed that the book didn't have an author. Turning the pages even more, he noticed that the book was simply a picture book with dialogue coming from a third grader.
Which begged the question: What's a children's book doing in the nonfiction section? Is it just a prank made by some stupid kid? Or is there supposed to be some meaning behind this?
Regardless, Vergil continued reading to see what it was about.
Ignoring the pictures entirely, Vergil read through each paragraph. He continued doing this until he finally reached the end of the book. Analyzing each paragraph, Vergil tried to see if there was any meaning behind them.
Too bad it was a waste of time.
Each paragraph Vergil read was pretty straightforward. As if it they were meant to be in a children's book.
"Tch...this was a waste of time…" Vergil muttered.
Turning towards the last pages of the book, Vergil was ready to close it. But reading through the last page once more, he noticed something a bit familiar.
Vergil read the last few passages out loud.
"Now armed with the elements, the very powers of nature, and the unimaginable magic of the wizard, the four maidens, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, promised to carry on with their journey, using their gifts to aid others, just as they aided him." Vergil said aloud.
It looked like basic text, but what caught Vergil's attention was the first sentence. Considering magic was pretty rare in Remnant according to his studies, seeing magic mentioned made him a bit curious. At first, Vergil would've just brushed that off since this was coming from a children's book. But the way magic was described in this book was familiar.
Elements. Nature. Magic. That sounded exactly like the type of magic Vergil saw Cinder using. He started remembering the fire pillars and fireballs she conjured towards him. But the nail in the coffin was that Cinder's last name was "Fall". As in, the "Autumn" season.
"That has to be a coincidence…" Vergil thought.
Without noticing, the librarian started approaching Vergil.
"Ah, I didn't know there was anyone still in this library." The librarian said.
Looking closer at the book Vergil was reading, the librarian realized that he was reading "The Story of the Seasons"
"I see that you found 'The Story of the Seasons'." The librarian said. "It's a weird book I have to say. It was donated by a fellow patron."
"Donated?" Vergil asked. "Mind if I ask who donated this book exactly?"
"Didn't catch his name. But he had grey hair, wore a green scarf, and was visiting from Beacon Academy." The librarian said.
"I see. Thanks." Vergil said.
"If you need any help, I'll be at the front." The librarian said before leaving Vergil be.
"Maybe this person might know what this whole Maiden thing is about…" Vergil thought. "After I check Atlas, I could pay Beacon a visit."
He then closed the children's book and placed it back on the shelf. Skimming down the spines of the book, Vergil started looking for anymore facts he could learn.
Dante's POV
Vale - Devil May Cry
7:00 AM
The next day…
Dante was seen sitting in front of his office desk with both legs resting on it. Spinning Ivory around, Dante started listening to numerous messages from his phone. After all, being in Beacon for two days would lead to a lot of missed called.
What Dante didn't expect was that he would get at least 10 missed calls.
"Well, I guess I have to start getting these done…" Dante said.
He pushed the "Messages" button on his phone and started listening to it.
"Message 1." The phone said. "If you guys are open, I was wondering if you could help me with this one specific Boarbatusk. Meet me outside the city of Vale so we could begin."
"Really? Just one Grimm?" Dante said. "How hard can that be?"
Outskirts of Vale
7:30 AM
But, the Grimm was the last thing Dante needed to worry about.
"Forget about the Grimm. Where the hell is my client?" Dante thought while twirling Ivory a bit.
Standing just outside the city of Vale, Dante was bored out of his mind. Well, that was until he heard a voice calling for him.
"Hey!" The voice said.
Dante turned towards the voice, only to see someone running towards him. This figure wore a burgundy suit with golden buttons while being a bit overweight. But what stuck out the most was the man's grey mustache.
Besides the appearance, the man was seen dragging an odd metal box behind him.
"Sorry I was late. Had to drag this metal box with me." The man said.
"What for?" Dante asked.
"To capture the Boarbatusk of course." The man responded. "But before we do that, I guess introductions are required."
"Sure, go ahead. I'll probably forget." Dante said.
"Anyways, the name's Peter Port." The man said. "And I'm a fellow teacher at Beacon Academy."
"Beacon? Well this is interesting." Dante said. "So, what does a professor like you need a Boarbatusk for?"
"I need a Grimm for today's class." Port responded. "And I need help."
"Couldn't you...well...do this yourself considering you're a Huntsman?" Dante asked.
"You're right. Someone like me can catch a Grimm on his own. But if I have someone helping me, I could get this Grimm before 9:00, which is when my class starts." Port said.
"Ah...procrastination at its finest." Dante said. "So, where's this so called Grimm?"
"Give me a moment." Port said while reaching into his pocket, only to pull out a cut of meat.
Port proceeded to throw the meat towards the grass.
Just as the meat landed...nothing happened.
"Well...so much for getting a Grimm." Dante said.
"That's not the point." Port said while pulling out his weapon.
Dante looked at whatever Port pulled out of his pockets, only to see a basic double sided axe.
"An axe?" Dante asked. "How's that going to attract Grimm?"
"Like this." Port said.
Holding onto the blades of the axe, Port aimed the handle upwards and shot a round. The discharge of the firearm was so loud, Dante and Port just heard a ringing noise that echoed throughout the fields.
Curious, Dante looked closer at the axe noticed that it was a blunderbuss-axe hybrid.
"Man...the weapons here get more and more insane." Dante thought. "I like that."
"Now...we wait." Port said.
Indeed, Dante waited. Once the discharge echo dissipated, he gripped onto Ebony and Ivory and got them ready. After a few seconds, Dante and Port just heard growling from a distance.
Dante looked at the horizon and just saw numerous Grimm running towards him. Beowolves. Ursas. You name it.
"Remember, you're looking for a Boarbatusk." Port said.
"Got it." Dante said.
Dante ran towards the horde of Grimm with Ebony and Ivory in his hands. Aiming both guns at the Grimm, Dante started firing towards them, killing numerous Beowolves and Ursas with perfectly executed headshots.
Gripping onto Rebellion, Dante dashed in with Stinger to skewer numerous Beowolves in the gut. With three Beowolves resting towards his blade, Dante swung the three Beowolves towards the crowd of Grimm, knocking them over in the process. With the small horde on the ground, Dante jumped into the air, equipped Ebony and Ivory and started spinning and raining down bullets with Rainstorm, killing the remaining Beowolves in the process.
Landing back on the ground, Dante got Ebony and started aiming it forward. Throughout the field, Dante just saw an odd looking boar approaching him.
"That must be it." Dante said. "Port, get the box ready."
"Understood." Port said while running to the metal box.
"Alright…" Dante said while holstering Ebony and Ivory. Dante then started bending his knees while clapping his hands for a moment, as if he was taunting the Boarbatusk. "Come on pig!"
The Boarbatusk, a bit agitated, started charging towards Dante at full speed. But showing no fear whatsoever, Dante proceeded to kick the Boarbatusk into the air. He then teleported on top of the Grimm with Trick Up and kicked it back down with Beowulf, causing it to crash onto the fields. Teleporting back down, Dante grabbed onto the Boarbatusk and threw it straight towards the metal box.
Port proceeded to close the metal box and locked it up with numerous padlocks.
"And...done!" Port said. "HAHA! A great display of skill!"
"Enough of that…" Dante said while being a bit flattered by the compliment. "Now where's my payment?"
"Ah...don't worry about that." Port said while reaching into his pocket. "So...how much do I have to pay?"
"200." Dante responded.
"Seems pretty low…" Port said. "But it'll suffice."
Port then pulled out a stash of Lien as payment. Glancing at the stash, Dante presumed it was about 400 Lien.
"Keep the change." Port said while giving the stash to Dante.
"Thanks." Dante said.
Dante, skimming through all the bills, counted that Port gave him exactly 450 Lien, which was bigger than he expected.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a class to teach so..." Port said while dragging the metal box.
"Um...are you sure you don't need help with that?" Dante asked.
"No. I could handle it." Port said.
"Um...if you say so…" Dante shrugged. "Anyways, I'll see you later."
Port nodded as a response and started entering the city of Vale again while dragging the box behind. Now all alone in the outskirts of the city, Dante decided to walk back to his store, knowing that his first job is done.
Vergil's POV
Mistral - Docking Bay
8:00 AM
Vergil, now fully rested and ready, started heading to one of Mistral's Air Buses so he could hitch a ride to Atlas. From what he studied, Atlas was a goldmine to Dust. And considering that Dust is something humans used in most of their technology, he wanted to study on what is there true potential.
"Atlas…" Vergil thought. "According to what I've heard, this must be the most prosperous Kingdom out of the four. Let's see if that's true…"
He then approached one of the Air Buses while pulling out a small stash of Lien that he still had back from that one town, which he learned was called Shion. Giving a stash of Lien to one of the soldiers guarding the Air Bus, Vergil entered the aircraft with no struggle and waited until it finally flew out of Mistal.
"How long will it take to travel to Atlas?" Vergil asked the pilot.
"Approximately one hour if I'm correct." The pilot responded.
"Good enough…" Vergil mumbled.
Vergil walked away from the pilot and sat down in one of the seats, leaned back, and waited until he reached Atlas.
Atlas - Docking Bay
9:10 AM
After waiting for about one hour, Vergil looked out the window, only to see the kingdom of Atlas right in front of him. Compared to the other kingdoms he went to, Vergil was a bit fascinated at how "advanced" the buildings. Not only were they completely made out of metal, but they were numerous Dust crystals sticking out of it.
The design alone made Vergil even more interested in the Kingdom. Of course, he didn't show this feeling cause that would be stupid.
Vergil walked out of the Air Bus and was immediately greeted by some Atlas operator. But what intrigued him was that it was just a mere hologram.
"Hello! Welcome to Atlas!" The operator said. "How may I be of service to you?"
"Where's Atlas' library?" Vergil asked.
"Keep walking straight down the path. You'll see a sign leading to the library. " The operator said.
"Of course…" Vergil mumbled while rolling his eyes and passing through the hologram.
"Before you go…" The operator said, prompting Vergil to turn around. "Do you want to be part of the tour around Atlas?"
"No." Vergil said before turning away from the operator and walking down the docking bay.
Atlas - Main Library
9:40 AM
Walking down the path even more, Vergil finally reached the exit the operator was talking about. Entering the library, Vergil saw an even bigger library than before. Only this time, the shelves were made out of metal, there were numerous hologram displays around each bookshelf, and it was busier than your average library.
Whether it would be patrons, staff, or...Atlas Soldiers for some reason.
Just looking at the soldiers made Vergil realize that he might need to be a bit careful around them.
Like every single library he visited, Vergil walked towards the nonfiction section and skimmed through every book he could find. While skimming through the books, Vergil found the same "Story of Seasons" children book he read back at Mistral.
He just shook his head and continued skimming through the covers, knowing the purpose of that book.
Vergil eventually reached a book that was labelled "The Complete History of the Kingdoms of Remnant" on the spine. Though unlike "The Story of the Seasons", this was a pretty thick book. Approximately 730 pages as a fair estimate.
As someone who needed information, Vergil just grabbed the book and started reading it.
"Just what is there to see in this book…?" Vergil thought while looking at the table of contents.
Skimming through the table of contents and turning to the title page again for the second time, Vergil noticed something odd. The author was Bartholomew Oobleck, a professor from Beacon Academy.
"Beacon again?" Vergil thought. "The more I see this name, the more interested I'm into it..."
Dante's POV
Vale - Devil May Cry
9:50 AM
Dante kicked his store door open and walked back to his desk. Once he was in front of his desk, he proceeded to lean back on his office chair while tossing Rebellion behind him, causing it to lean perfectly on the wall.
"Well, now that I got some breakfast, let's see what else is there to do…" Dante said while reaching towards his phone.
He pressed the message button and started listening to the next message he missed while on his small mission with Port.
"Message 2." The phone said. "Hello, this is Vale's Police Department calling. We've heard that you specialize in killing Grimm. If the rumors are true, we were wondering if you could help us with a small task that is in the city right now. Meet us at Vale Square ASAP."
"The police?" Dante said while getting out of his seat. "Why couldn't they just ask some normal Huntsman?"
Dante slid Rebellion inside the little leather sheath on his coat and started walking out of his store again.
"Ah well…" Dante thought. "Let's just see where this could go."
Vale - Square Plaza
10:00 AM
After leaving his store, Dante finally reached Vale Square. What particularly surprised Dante was that there was a gigantic barricade near one of the walls surrounding the square. Which is weird considering that he had no knowledge about this barricade, even though he just roamed around Vale just a few days ago.
Dante walked closer to the center, only to see numerous cops surrounding the barricade.
"Hold it citizen!" Cop 1 said. "You can't go any further!"
"Really? But aren't you the guys that hired me?" Dante asked.
The realization in the cop's face immediately started kicking in.
"Oh! You must be Dante." Cop 1 said. "Sorry for any aggression just now."
"It's fine." Dante said. "So...what you need help with?"
"See if you could debrief with one of the officers behind me. They are the ones in charge of the operation." Cop 1 responded.
"Alright." Dante said while walking past Cop 1.
Walking towards the cops, Dante just saw two officers chatting with each other. Looking at the uniforms of these officers, he knew these were the officers the other cop was talking about.
"So, I've heard you guys are having some sort of Grimm problem if I recall?" Dante asked, catching the officers.
"Ah, there you are." Cop 2 said.
"You must be that so-called Grimm hunter that just popped up in Vale, if I'm correct?" Cop 3 asked.
"That's me alright." Dante said. "Looks like I'm gaining popularity for once."
"Now that you're here, we can finally tell you what you need to do." Cop 3 said.
"But before we do that…" Dante said.
"Don't worry, we'll pay you." Cop 2 said.
" .No. Not that." Dante said. "Just one question: Why did you guys choose to hire me when you could've...you know...asked any other Huntsman?"
"Because you were the only one available at the time." Cop 2 responded. "Many of the other Huntsman in Vale are busy with other duties like protecting the other Kingdoms."
"So we decided to turn towards our last option: The only Grimm Hunter in Vale." Cop 3 added.
"Now that makes some sense." Dante said. "Alright, what do you need help with?"
"Just something pretty basic." Cop 2 said.
"This barricade behind us is the only thing keeping Grimm away from entering this city." Cop 3 added. "Apparently, many citizens are complaining that there's some odd noises going on behind this barricade."
"And you guys want me to check it out?" Dante asked.
"Yes." Cop 2 said.
"Possibly kill some Grimm while you're at it." Cop 3 said.
"Heh...alright then." Dante said while getting Ebony ready. "So...how do I enter this barricade without breaking it open?"
"On top of this barricade, there's a small opening that you could enter through." Cop 2 said.
"Wait...if there's an opening, what's stopping Grimm from entering?" Dante asked.
"General Ironwood assigned a few soldiers to guard that one opening and kill any Grimm that enter." Cop 3 responded. "So far, there have only been a few break-ins. But it was immediately taken care of."
"I see…" Dante said. "Anyways...I'll be right back."
Dante swapped into Trickster style and teleported straight up with Trick Up.
On top of the barricade, Dante just saw at least three Atlas soldiers guarding the opening the officers were talking about earlier.
"Whenever you're ready." Atlas Soldier 1 said.
"Thanks." Dante said while jumping into the opening.
Vale - Sealed Tunnel
10:10 AM
Dante was now in the tunnel. He looked around to see if he could get a good sense of his current environment, even though it looked like an abandoned railroad tunnel.
"Now...where are these so-called Grimm?" Dante thought while looking around.
And all of a sudden, he started hearing numerous growling noises behind him.
"And there it goes…" Dante muttered.
Without even looking, Dante pulled out Ebony and shot a bullet just beside him.
Of course, since this is Dante we're talking about, the bullet he just shot killed a Beowolf.
Turning around and pulling out Ivory as well, Dante started shooting a stream of bullets towards the small horde of Beowolves and Ursas in front of him. While he was able to kill a few Grimm, the rest of them started evading most of his bullets and charging towards Dante.
To react to this, Dante pulled out Agni and Rudra, twirled the two swords above his head to execute Twister, knocking the remaining Beowolves and Ursas into the air. To juggle them into the air, Dante pulled out Cerberus and executed Million Carats, causing numerous ice pillars to surround him while juggling the Grimm.
Gripping onto Rebellion, Dante teleported right towards the Grimm and started swinging his sword numerous times, executing an Aerial Rave in the process. Pulling out Beowulf, Dante used Hammer to knock all the Grimm back towards the ground. Now in front of the dying Grimm, he jumped into the air with Ebony and Ivory and executed Rainstorm, twirling in the air while firing numerous bullets. Landing in front of the Grimm again, Dante pulled out Kalina Ann and rocket-jumped into the air, killing most of the Grimm while leaving only one Ursa alive.
The last Ursa was launched into the air due to the blast from one of Dante's rocket. Seeing this, Dante launched Kalina Ann's bayonet to latch onto the airborne Ursa and grapple towards it. Above the Ursa, Dante pulled out Beowulf and started dive kicking in with Killer Bee. But to maximize the damage output, Dante started jump-cancelling off the Ursa and continued to execute Killer Bee. Dante continued to jump-cancel until the Ursa was finally killed.
"Easy…" Dante scoffed.
But it was far from over…
Dante turned around and saw a gigantic two headed snake slithering towards him. Looking at the snake even more, Dante noticed that it looked a bit familiar. But before he could remember, the snake tried biting him, forcing Dante to roll out of the way.
"I swear...I remember this thing from somewhere…" Dante thought.
Interrupting his train of thought again, the snake charged towards Dante and tried biting him again.
"Hey! Can't you see I'm trying to remember something?" Dante said aloud to the snake.
The snake, ignoring Dante's remark, just tried eating him again, forcing him to teleport above the snake.
"Ah! Now I remember where I've seen that Grimm…" Dante said.
Just as Dante said this, the snake successfully ate him. However, the snake had some trouble closing its mouth entirely. Probably because Dante was seen holding the snake's upper jaw with both of his hands.
"Ren killed a similar snake in Beacon's initiation." Dante said while preventing the snake's jaw to close any further. "And he did it like this."
Jumping out of the snake's mouth, Dante pulled out both of the snake's fang, causing it to scream in pain. With both fangs at hand, Dante teleported right beside the snake's and stuck one of the fangs into it. Because of how strong Dante stabbed the fang into the eye, it actually caused the snake's head to explode from the impact.
With the other fang, Dante stabbed the fang on top of the snake's other head, causing it to squirm a bit. He then pulled out Beowulf and used Volcano to punch the fang in even more, finally causing the head to explode from the impact.
"By the way, there's something called 'mints'. You could probably use it." Dante said to the dead snake while fanning his nose for a bit.
Vale - Square Plaza
10:20 AM
With the deed done, Dante jumped out of the opening and started approaching the two cops he we talking with earlier.
"It's done?" Cop 2 asked.
"Yup. It was easy." Dante responded. "Just some basic Beowolves, Ursas, and the occasional giant snake."
"There was a King Taijitu?" Cop 3 asked.
"Sure. Whatever you would call it…" Dante shrugged. "Now then...that will be 300 Lien."
"Here you go." Cop 2 said while pulling out a roll of Lien. "It's exactly 400 Lien. So you could keep the change."
"I appreciate that." Dante said while pocketing the Lien. "Looks like I'm done here."
"If we need any help, we'll call you alright?" Cop 3 said.
"Sure…" Dante said while waving his hand a bit.
He then left the two cops and started heading back to his store, knowing that the deed was done.
Vergil's POV
Atlas - Library
1:00 PM
Throughout the past three hours, Vergil eventually finished the book he took out. He closed the book and returned it back to its normal place.
Finishing the book, Vergil finally obtained some knowledge about terms like Dust, Grimm, and even some history on the book. The knowledge that interested him the most was Dust. Besides him being in Atlas right now, Vergil can use this chance to test out some Dust.
"So...Dust can be fused with an individual?" Vergil thought. "This is quite a discovery…"
But there was two major problems with this procedure. The first problem was that it was a dangerous procedure and anyone who attempts it risks the possibility of death.
Luckily, Vergil was not an ordinary person.
The second problem was that infusing Dust with a person was considered illegal at the time due to how destructive it could be.
Of course, Vergil was the kind of person who wouldn't care for such mundane things.
"Now...I think some Dust is needed. But it is a bit costly…" Vergil thought. "I guess I could use this time to break the law for once. Best to take the risk…"
With a plan into mind, Vergil exited the library and got Yamato ready.
And that's the end of this chapter.
Reviews:
Gundam-Knight-Chris:
-Considering that Vergil is the oldest amongst the two and doesn't hold back as much, it would make sense.
Zabaniya:
-I know right?
LockeBelmont:
-It's great to see that you still like it. I appreciate it.
Darkness vx:
-Too early to reveal that.
Demons Anarchy of Pride:
-Technically...he did go Devil Trigger. But only for a brief moment.
Ghost Recon111:
-The reason why I make Vergil's and Dante's POV in the same chapter is that the things they do in their perspective are pretty close in a time sense. So if I do it separately, the timing would get a bit inconsistent.
And trust me, as a guy who is pretty inexperienced in writing, it would just get pretty confusing for me.
But to your defense, that's a great suggestion. It's just that I don't think I would have the time to do something like that.
So sorry.
-Don't worry. That's not really considered hijacking my story. That's just a basic suggestion that I might consider. But like mentioned earlier, no promises.
-Also, I think I've mentioned this once already, but the reason why Vergil is more accurate compared to Dante is that I basically main Vergil in DMC3, DMC4, and even UMvC3. So I would have more experience on how Vergil fights.
And of course, yeah. Dante has a lot of moves compared to Vergil. So keeping it accurate to Dante would get a bit tiring.
-As for personal interactions, I tend to not rush those kinds of things. So seeing a personal moment that fast is pretty unlikely. You can't rush character development after all. Besides, we have over five (or even more) Volumes of RWBY to deal with. So we have some time.
Ultimate Kuuga:
-Maybe.
Phut:
-Thanks lad.
Shadow Joestar:
-She might be shocked. IDK.
Greer123:
-I could say the same.
Andromeda:
-Ah...I see you seen my other fanfic. Good to know.
-Eventually.
-After this chapter, he'll find out probably sooner than Dante.
Guest:
-He has infinite bullets.
-That's something the future will decide.
Diavolo:
-Okay. You're right. That's a flaw I've seen in most of my fanfics. But like mentioned earlier, I'm not the most experienced writer when it comes to fanfiction.
-The same could be said about that "Action-Comma-Explanation" thing.
-Of course, being bland, I guess this is what happens when you're partially forced to write numerous boring essays in school for the past two months. (20 and counting)
-As for the bolding of pronouns, I mostly only use it to emphasize when a fight is going on in the chapter. Sure it'll be a bit jarring for some people, but it could also be a bit helpful for others. It just depends on who's reading.
I know I shouldn't be saying this. Just because it's a fanfiction, doesn't excuse the fact that it's still a piece of writing at the end of the day. Which is why fanfictions have the reputation that it does.
But I just want to say thanks for pointing this out. It's nice to see some constructive criticism at times. Thank you. I'll try my best to improve in the future.
You might not be reading this, since you're probably bored from this fanfiction by now and likely left. But if you do see this, just know that I'm thankful. It's like getting light criticism from a pretty competent English Teacher.
Dffans:
-Sometime in the future.
Guest:
-Yeah...I should make him talk less.
The Great Half-Dragon:
-Here's your update.
Byayan:
-It's nice to see someone happy like this. Good to know. :)
EVEonlineGoon:
-Well, from time to time, there are some 10 second fights. Just look at Vergil killing the bandits from the last chapter.
-Yes. It's true that those were Hype AF moments. But keep in mind that those were moments from fights that lasted longer than 10 seconds. I know what you're saying, just wanted to point that out.
-IDK.
-No one. (This is not a romance fanfiction)
-No one in the RWBY universe. (This is not a romance fanfiction)
-IDK. (Didn't really care about Nevan's character and decided to gloss it out completely.)
Neo Byakuran:
-Yeet.
Silver III Jhin:
I know you said not to judge by personality but I'll say it anyways for some clarity.
5. DMC: DMC (No…)
4. DMC2 (Too serious)
3. DMC1 (A bit too new for Dante's personality. So I'm not a huge fan.)
2. DMC4 (It's pretty close to DMC3)
1. DMC3 (Best Dante. Hands down.)
As for the looks, it's simple.
5. DMC: DMC (No…Dante used to have a unique look. Now he just looks like a stereotypical edgelord. I don't like it at all.)
4. DMC4 (I don't hate this costume. It's just a tad bit behind compared to DMC3)
3. DMC3 (Pretty cool)
2. DMC1 (Always use this costume in DMC3)
1. DMC2 (Best costume, but worst Dante y'know)
But these are just opinions.
The Baz:
-Welf as someone who doesn't drink, I wouldn't know.
-Also sorry about that. I could've just done.
("Okay then." Dante scoffed.)
Instead of:
("Pfft...okay then." Dante said.)
Guest:
-I know that's part of Dante's character. But I'm not that great when it comes to flirting in stories. It's just weird. Probably because I'm an introvert, who knows?
So I can't really promise any future flirts.
Guest44:
-Keep in mind, I have school to focus on. So you can't rush this.
The False Savior:
-Thanks. I like this compliment.
-I plan to.
-Vergil looks like the one from DMC3 (Which is also the one from DMC4SE. Vergil's story is a prequel in that game after all.)
-Dante looks like the one from DMC3. So you're correct.
Blinded in a bolthole:
-Yeah. I'll see if I could change that later.
-Who knows.
