Village hidden in the leaf,

Aftermath of the Kyuubi.

"Sarutobi-sama?" yelled a man who leapt through the open window with surprising grace for his stature.

Hiruzen tensed and turned identifying the man as an ANBU, he relaxed his posture. Hiruzen Sarutobi saw the anbu commander approaching him and answered. "Ah. Yes dragon-san?" he asked while looking at the devastation from the previous night's attack. "I presume that the council has summoned for me?"

The commander nodded his head with a careful restraint, knew of all the bad blood between him and the council. "I am afraid so sir, they need you to come to their meeting to decide the new Hokage. They said that they need you now. " He turned to leave, his job being done.

"Wait, dragon-san?"

Turning to face the retired Hokage, dragon said "Do you need something?"

Hiruzen took a slow puff before answering him. "Tell the council that I have news. It is in regards to the Kyuubi's defeat."

With a grim nod, the cloaked man turned and disappeared into the village to inform the council that Hiruzen had news and would be along shortly.

Turning around once more, Sarutobi gazed into the modest room of his personal house and frowned. He opened a side door that led to a small room. Inside, a crib of whitewood sat and within that was a newborn child, with whiskers of bone on his face and a small bone tail, wrapped in a blanket stained with blood. He picked the newborn babe up and it opened its eyes, holding his steady gaze. Intelligent crimson eyes, which stared straight into Sarutobi Hiruzen, tugged at his soul. "Are you hungry?" he asked it.

The babe shook his head no. Placing a slight genjutsu on the child, the 'abnormal' features disappeared in a shimmer as Hiruzen left the building. 'The council will be hard enough to deal with him as a jinchuuriki. There is no reason to make this first meeting any harder than it should be.' he thought to himself as he put on the mask of his prime. He was ready to show the council just why he was chosen to be the Hokage and they were not.

A 6 year old Naruto was kicked out of a store once again, bleeding from the kick to his mouth and dusty from the baked earth he was lying in.

"AND DON'T COME BACK YOU FILTHY DEMON!" yelled the store keeper, slamming his door closed and flipping his sign to give him time to remove the 'taint' from his store.

Naruto stood up slowly and dusted of his cloak before reaching up and slowly popping his jaw into socket so it would heal faster; he then pulled up his hood and walked away without saying a word aloud.

His mind, however, was in a heated discussion with his stronger tenant. 'Friend, what was the point of that? I didn't need to get anything from that man; why did you tell me to go in that asshole's store?' Naruto asked as he walked towards his favorite place in the village. He made doubly sure to stick to the shadows, as they made him feel more comfortable during the day than the harsh sunlight of Konoha's perma-shine climate.

You needed a reason to "storm off" to your favorite place in the village. By which I mean of course train. I made you go there to give you one in the form of anger at that human, even though we both know that you don't really care.

Taking to the rooftops, Naruto started leaping from place to place. He used improvised bone cleats to provide the necessary leverage and balance since his young body would not allow for chakra control anywhere near walking on walls or forcing sure footing. 'You know that the old man would help me if I just asked. There is no point in that.' He argued.

Really Naruto? I know you are hungry, if the Hokage sent someone to help you train then he may learn about your feeding habits. And we both know what would happen should it leak to the council.

Naruto paid a bit more attention to his surroundings than their conversation when he ran out of buildings to move across; he failed to realize this until mid leap however. Rolling with his fall, Naruto stood and popped his back as he looked at the large fence about 30 meters in front of him. Licking his lips, he walked towards a shadow coming from the trees it held and fell through. Stepping out of a shadow on the other side, ready to go, he admitted one of Friend's points. 'You are right about one thing; I am really fucking hungry right now.' He dropped his cloak, revealing a barely toned chest as well as a pair of modified black cargo pants with a hole for his tail. He dropped the cloak into a nearby shadow and took out a black shirt, which he then put on before sighing in relief. "This is going to be so much fun," he laughed as the wild feeling of the forest called to him.

He crouching down, he paid attention to his senses and started sprinting, letting his instincts take over. He ran for almost 7 minutes before his ears caught the sound of something large dying. Leaping into a nearby tree, he climbed up to take a look at what he saw. A pack of large tigers, an average of 4 meters tall, were eating off of a recently slain carcass which he presumed was that of a large reptile.

He smirked as they enjoyed their kill; none of them had noticed him due to their preoccupations as he pulled two white bones, which melded into kunai, from his wrists. 'Dinner time!' He thought as he jumped down into the midst of them and taking them by surprise. He rushed the closest one, a female twice his height. With a quick jump and twist, he slit her throat.

The others had finally reacted to his presence. One of them, a male this time, jumped at him in an attempt to surprise him from behind; an expertly thrown kunai had him on the ground as Naruto rolled back and slashed his throat.

A kunai appeared in Naruto's left hand as he jumped over the dead body to dodge a tiger trying to claw him. When he landed, he turned around, ducked under another attack, and ran beside it while dragging a kunai through its side before slicing its back right hamstring with a reverse twist. It fell to the ground, unable to stand as it bled out.

The last opponent, the largest of them, by at least 1 ½ meters, looked him dead in the eyes with uncanny intelligence. Its own pair flickered towards a shadow at the edge of the treeline as if thinking about something before it readied its stance and roared at him. Naruto looked towards the spot and saw something move before he was forced to dodge a devastating rush attack. At the time though, he was more preoccupied with what he thought he saw. 'Friend, was that a cub?' asked slowly.

I believe so. What are you going to do with it?

Naruto pondered this as he sliced off a paw with both of his kunai, but the tiger's pained roaring drowned out his thoughts. Deciding to kill the damn thing so he could hear himself think, he jumped on its back and sliced between its vertebrae and, essentially, cutting the spinal cord. He watched as the dead bodies started sinking into their shadows on a command from friend.

Naruto looked back at where the potential cub was, he saw it struggling in an effort to get away from the murderer of its family. Walking towards it he saw it was stuck in a patch of a poisonous plant named Briarnestle. A plant that is demonic in nature and its poison erodes the conections between mortal cells leaving a pile of goop after a few days that turns into fertilizer for the plants living roots.

Naruto, you know what you need to do…

'I know, I know, it's just, I don't enjoy killing things this young. It wastes all their potential.' Reaching up he pulled out a white tanto from his shoulder. "Shh, Shh, little one. I'll make it all better." He said to the quietly mewling cub as it still struggled to get away from him. Petting its head and releasing chakra into its body, he sang a haunting lullaby. It slowly calmed down as the pain subsided and it even started to purr as it fell asleep. Naruto raised his sword hand and dropped it on the cub's neck in a swift decisive blow, severing its head in a single strike as its blood painted the trees and it's remains sank into the shadows. He dispersed his sword into chakra and reabsorbed what he could and then ripped up the patch of Briarnestle and threw it into the void beneath his feet.

He sat on his knees and reached into his shadow. Finding what he wanted, he grabbed its leg and ripped it off. He then softly hummed the song as he started eating his most recent feast. In a fit of confusion though, he asks 'Friend, why the hell am I always so damn hungry? I eat almost 2,000 pounds of food a week, and yet I am still constantly hungry.'

There are many reasons for that, but the most important one is your age. Your young body is incapable of sustaining itself on pure chakra because it is still growing. But since you aren't human, your growth is different. Your body converts all undesirable mass into chakra, and it only keeps a small amount of what you eat for growth. It takes many tons of mortal muscle to give you 1 pound of demonic muscle. There are many ratios for different parts of your body and different foods, but there was a reason I had you eat the human Kimmamaro, your body will assimilate anything that it, or you, finds useful. While this criterion does include bloodlines, you have to be careful or your body could lose stability. The reason I had you eat Kimmimaro was double layered, on one side it would give you his abilities and on the other side, you would also get his chakra… making it possible to absorb much more material than a normal human would give you.

Naruto nodded his head slowly as he took in the information. 'Is there anything else?'

Yes, humans, specifically ninja, are the best food for demons. Their bodies are 10 times more compatible than any other mortals, so it takes 10 times less to grow off of them, but since you refuse to just hunt for them in other villages you are always hungry. It should stop by the time you hit adulthood, but that's a long ways away so don't count on it.

Naruto nodded as he finished off the last body. 'So, humans provide more material than beasts and a ninja's chakra and even bloodline can be absorbed in such a way that I can gain much more physical material than normally. I guess that that makes sense.'

Looking at the sky, Naruto saw it was getting dark so he set about working on his routine to get his body up to par. He got so caught up in his training that he did not notice the sound of a shunshin as a red eyed teen left the Forest of Death to think upon what he had seen.

"Itachi, what is troubling you? You seem more of an emo than usual." Asked a teen a few years older than him.

"Cousin. I have told you repeatedly that. I. Am. Not. Emo." Itachi said while clenching his fists and attempting to get past the man in his way. "It's nothing. I just witnessed the powers of THAT child. It was intriguingly similar to your own as far as I could see, with a quite a few differences."

"Ohh. I see then. I understand why that would trouble you." He reached out and stopped Itachi's movement with two fingers to his head. "Idiot cousin, you should have invited him over for supper. I know that training like that is tiring. I bet he was hungry, don't you?"

Itachi thought back as his cheeks tinged green. "He ate while he was there. And judging by his tastes in food, I don't think he would have enjoyed eating with us."

Intrigued, his cousin raised an eyebrow "How so, exactly?"

"He killed and ate four of the C-level tigers and one cub in the forest, raw, even the fur and bones. Not only that, he also used what appeared to be his own bones to kill them. When he killed the cub, he sang it a lullaby in a language I don't know before beheading it as it fell asleep." He took a break there to regain his composure. "He also hummed the same song as he sat in place and began eating them."

His cousin's face became slightly stern as he hardened his gaze. "I see then. I suppose I had better go see what is going on, if this is true… well I will make a decision when I get there."

With that, he left. Itachi looked after him before he turned and walked to his house, wondering what one of his cousin's infamous decisions would change in the boy's life. That is, if he survived.

Naruto was punching trees left and right with his armored fists. His bone gauntlets were shredding the area's foliage spectacularly in his unprofessional opinion, so he also was covered in armor to protect him from the flying splinters most of his hits caused. It was also helping him with his endurance due to the sheer weight of his class four armor. *1

A cloaked figure watched from the treeline as he searched for Naruto Uzumaki. Seeing what appeared to be the blood-lusting rampage of a small C-class demon occurring before his eyes, the figure prepared to fight.

With a leap he landed on gracefully on the ground half-way from his original position and the demon. As soon as he made to run towards it, though, he was forced to dodge ten projectiles sent towards him.

Naruto had been aware of the figure for almost a full minute and was unsurprised as he watched the figure dodge his bones with seemingly no effort. Naruto made two tantos to fight with and held them in a reverse hold as he was his attacker rushed towards him. The man weaved around each attack, though slightly sloppily, and countered with a right straight to the supposed sternum of Naruto. His armored fist dented the bones slightly and threw Naruto across the clearing.

'Dammit, that armor doesn't telegraph moves. I've got to get rid of it.' thought the figure as he ran towards Naruto, doing seals at a rapid pace and inhaled sharply.

Naruto impacted a tree and found himself stuck in its cracked wood; he saw his opponent preparing a jutsu and ejected himself from his armor just as a fireball struck it. He rolled with the force of the explosion before turning to the man and throwing kunai after kunai at him from the opened skin on his wrist.

The figure was nearly so distracted by the appearance of his target that he nearly missed the many white kunai coming for him and he was barely able to use his Sharingan to track them. As his body avoided them, he grabbed the last one to retaliate when it suddenly pierced his hand with spikes. He released it and watched as all of the kunai behind him stopped. He saw 5 shadows holding each one, which then split into tens of slivers of bone.

Naruto shouted, "Kageton: shinigami ame nojutsu!" with a grin, and each shadow split, throwing over 300 slivers of razor sharp bones at the figure. *2

Seeing the attack, the man attempted to dodge but was still hit in some of the non vital areas of the body. He made a seal that Naruto had never seen before and sat down on his knees. The shadows from around the clearing came towards him, covering his body like a shroud. He whispered "Boidoton: Chiyu Nōryoku no Boido" before standing up like nothing was wrong and allowing the shadows to stay clung to him. While still holding the strange sign, he whispered yet another technique "Boidoton: Kūdō kage shuraudo" and disappeared. *3

Naruto searched around for his opponent before his tail shot up and deflected an attack from his unseen enemy. Jumping away he started reforming his armor, when it covered him completely, he locked its joints and said "Kageton: Kage Kanjitoru," He searched for his enemy with shadowy tendrils that leaked from the inside of his armor. After finding him, Naruto grabbed the man and sharpened another tendril which stabbed him. He then retracted the locks on his armor so that he could move and walked towards his fallen enemy. "What is your name?" he asked the downed man.

"Niklous, Uchiha Niklous." He said, shooting up and looking into Naruto's facemask with his spinning crimson eyes. Naruto accidently looked into the man's eyes as he heard one word and the world went black. "Tsukuyomi." *4

*1: Naruto's bone armor comes in classes that describe the level of protection. His current maximum level is five.

Class 1: bones appear over the wrists and knuckles to provide protection for major arteries and a deflection of slashing weapons with the back of the hand. Bones appear on the shins for increased kicking damage. Bones spread down the back of the neck to protect the cerebral cortex and then travels the sides to protect the jugulars and wind pipes.

No restriction of movement and minimal weight.4kg.

Class 2: includes previous classes. Bones spread above skin covering the slots of the ribs to provide organ protection. Groin is covered as well as the bottoms of the feet. Thin plating moulds above the abdomen protecting the digestive tract. Small plating grows between vertebrae to protect spinal column. An open facemask stretches behind the head, nearly touching the cerebral covering.

Slight restriction of movement and minimal weight.11kg

Class 3: includes previous classes. All current bones double in thickness, maximum of 4cm. Sternum and ribs become interlocking plates. Biceps and forearms protection nearly touch. Shoulders interlock with jugular protection and extend down to connect with sternum and ribs in a slight breastplate. Facemask extends over mouth and nose. Feet covering expands into boots, connects with shins. Thighs are covered and stretch up over the waist and protect the kidneys. Abdominal plate sections off and covers the obliges, nearly touches the back.

Moderate restriction of movement and moderate weight.23kg

Class 4: all current classes connect and form a full armored suit. Full face helm. Chest plate and abdominal plate separated. Spine and back segmented as well. Hands fully covered and connected to wrists. Most bones double. Max depth, 8cm. Basically sleek knight armor with added mobility.

Greater restriction of movement and great weight. 47kg

Class 5: is a secret.

*2: Naruto calls his techniques this because that is the name he chose. When he started, he figured, shadows equal shadow style. This is incorrect however because he actually uses void style.

Kageton: shinigami ame nojutsu (shadow style: reaper rain technique.)

A C-ranked ninjutsu that allows the user to tether objects with a shadow tendril and manipulate it in flight as well as maintain technigues by acting as an external chakra pathway.

Kageton: Kage Kanjitoru (shadow style: shadow's perceivence) This is why Naruto's tendril easily found and pierced Nikouls' shroud of shadows.

An A-rank technique that allows the user to use the shadows around them as an extension of their bodies. Its range is the total area of the shadow the user stands on times the square root of the user's chakra, however any light introduced to the original shadow damages the user's chakra coils.

Naruto can travel to the void and back through shadows.

He can also store objects in the void and withdraw them through shadows.

*3: This sign represents Niklous' void techniques.

It is a clasped hand with the thumbs touching the tips of the symmetrically bent index fingers.

There are two ways to gain a void chakra nature. One is being a void being. Angels, demons, space time manipulators etc. and the other is being possessed or "cursed/blessed" by a void being. The difference between the two is that the source is stronger, but the cursed have more control.

Boidoton: Chiyu Nōryoku no Boido (void style: healing abilities of the void.)

A B-ranked healing technique that covers the body in shadows that remove foreign objects as well as stitching wounds together with shadows made to coax cells into rapid reproduction.

Boidoton: Kūdō kage shuraudo (void style: void shadow's cloak)

A B-ranked support technique that moves the user into a place between the worlds yet allows them to perceive it in their absence.

*4: Niklous is pronounced Nih Clous. He is an oc. He is important. And he may have a back STORY in the works.

If you enjoyed please review. If you didn't then don't give me a shit comment like "CRAP" Please tell me why you hate it so that I know what to avoid and work on.{please ^-^}
