Alice's Surprise

(Bella's POV)

"Hello love," Edward said, smiling as he came over to me and planted a kiss on my cheek. I was currently sitting in the Cullen living room reading Wuthering Heights. It's been awhilesince I've read the tale of Catherine and Heathcliff, one of my favorites love stories of all time. But, actually, maybe my favorite love story of all would be my very own.

"Hey," I said, smiling back as I return the kiss with one on the lips. I then get up so I can wrap my arms around him, dropping the book on the arm-chair as I snuggle into his embrace. I bury my face into his chest and breathe in his sweet scent. I haven't done this in awhile, when I was human his scent used to calm me down all the time.

"So Renesmee is with Jake?" I asked, turning my head so the side of my face was now resting against his chest.

"Yeah, she's all good," Edward said, grinning as he kissed my lips softly. I felt a soft moan escape my lips as I then kissed back with more passion and soon Edward's face was molded to mine.

"What up guys!?" I snapped away quickly from Edward, leaving him a bit dazzled, to see none other than Emmett make his way into the room.

"Emmett!" I growled, bawling my fists up. "Really!?"

"What?" Emmett asked innocently as he sits down in front of the T.V to play his video games. "The living room is for living, not for Belly and Eddie make out session," He snorted as he turned the console on.

"Speak for yourself," I retorted, smirking slightly. Emmett just growled at me before turning his attention back to his game. I sighed as I then plopped myself onto Edward's lap so I could finishing my reread.

"Hey anyone see Jasper? I wanted to play this new game I got with him," Emmett asked, his eyes still glued to the screen. I looked at Edward and shrugged. No one has seen Alice or Jasper all day, in fact they've been kind of MIA lately.

"No, in fact no one has seen him or Alice," Edward remarked, rubbing the back of his head. "Where she was going she's been blocking me out with pictures of Jasper in a soldier's uniform to Shakespeare's Macbeth in twenty different languages."

"Do you know where they could have gone?" I questioned. Both men took a quick look at each other and shrugged.

"Maybe they went to 'romance the stone' somewhere private," Emmett snickered. I just rolled my eyes at my bear of a brother.

"Anyone seen Alice?" Rosalie called out from the other room. "We were suppose to go shopping soon?"

"No, not even a trace from Jasper," I told her as she then enters the room ready to do.

"This is so strange, even for them. Alice isn't always this aloof," Rosalie muttered, crossing her arms over her chest. "And Alice, of all people, is never late for a shopping trip. I mean never."

"I believe you Rose," I said as she sat down on the opposite couch.

"Maybe aliens abducted them," Emmett said nonchalantly as he looked at the digital aliens on his screen. "Thank God for the 21st Century."

"Emmett, that's not what happened. They probably, as you said, went to go do something together. They're probably too caught up in each other to notice they've been gone for so long," Edward said, mumbling as he rested his head against the back of my shoulder.

"GUYS!" We all freeze as we hear the distress call of none other than our pixie sister outside. We all then rush outside to see Alice and Jasper coming up the pathway with a women. She had blonde hair and was beautiful yet she looked to be in pain and..pregnant.

"What's going on here?" Esme asked first as she ran to their side, her mother bear instincts kicking in.

"Everyone this is Gwen, she's pregnant...with twin half vampires," Alice said softly. We all then stare in shock at this woman, causing her to blush as we look at her stomach. Twins…Twin Vampire Hybrids. Well, that's a first.

"Let's go inside, quickly," Carlisle said, breaking the silence first as he then directed everyone back into the house.

I rush to Gwen's side, ready to help her into our home. She was in immense pain and was not in the greatest shape. I know how painful it was to carry a half vampire child yet she was carrying twins. This had to be more painful as in extremely painful. I couldn't even imagine.

Alongside with Rosalie, we help Gwen sit down on the couch. That's when I get an even closer look at her. She was a young girl in her early twenties with pale blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

"Gwen can you maybe tell us your story?" Edward asked her gently, trying to help the rest of us understand what was going on.

"The whole story?" Gwen asked, her voice in a whisper.

"It's okay Gwen," Alice reassured her. "You can trust them. Tell them everything, just like you told Jasper and I."

"Okay…Well you see it all started met this man, Matthew, two years ago. He was a vampire like all of you, he even drank animal blood too. I met him in a library, I was working there at the time. He needed help finding books on werewolves or something, I don't even remmeber now, but one thing led to another and we became friends, then more then friends. We both fell madly in love, he was my soul mate. It wasn't until a few months ago he proposed…He was even planning to change me after our marriage so we could be together forever." Gwen paused for a moment before sucking her breath in to try and explain the rest of her story. "Then the impossible happened for us, I became pregnant with twins. We were both excited that we could have kids, especially since we thought Matt was sterile. It's something we both desired for secretly and it was finally going to be perfect. Then something happened..a man. I don't know who he was but he killed Matt." That's when the tears that were held in began to form in Gwen's blue eyes and spill down her cheeks.

"He killed Matt two weeks ago. I was alone until Alice and Jasper found me in Matt and my cottage up in Oregon today," Gwen explained motioning to our siblings.

"We told her about us, and how Bella carried a baby like hers. We offered to help her deliver the twins and help her out. She probably only has about two days left before she needs to deliver," Alice explained to the rest of us. "Her children, the twins, they're the ones I have had visions off. This is why I have been so secretive, I wasn't sure about all the visions until I had Jasper help me piece everything together."

"Okay, I see. So, let's just get down to business I guess then," Carlisle said, then turning to Gwen. "Before I ask you anything else, I need to know so we can prepare, would you like us to change you when the twins are born?" Carlisle asked. I watched as Gwen violently shook her head for no.

"I want to join Matthew. I can't raise them on my own and I don't even think I can survive without him," Gwen sobbed, burying her face into her eyes. "Shhh, dear it's okay," Esme said, her motherly instincts taking over as she gave Gwen a hug.

Matthew was defiantly her mate, she was giving up on life already without him. I know how she feels, just being three months away from Edward was tortuous but never seeing him again? I couldn't even bare.

I felt Edward's arms tighten around me, his face was grim. I knew he was thinking the same thing. Unlike me, Edward went three whole days thinking I died. I can't even imagine his pain. That trip to Volturrea was not one I like to relive. I quickly give him a kiss on the lips and cup his face.

"Shhh, it's alight. I'm alive. It's fine. That'll never happen again." I took my shield down so he could only hear my voice now. He relaxed at my touch and just held me closer.

"We'll help you deliver the twins, don'r worry dear. But is there anyone who might want to take care of the kids?" Carlisle asked her gently. "Anyone we should give them to?"

"I know it's sudden, but you seem like you have experience...can you guys? I have no family nor did Matt," Gwen said softly. I have a feeling the twins kicked because she then winced in pain.

"Don't worry Gwen it'll be fine. You can trust us," I reassured her, rubbing her hand. "I was in he same spot you were not too long ago," I said as I gently place a hand on her shoulder.

"Where you the one who carried the baby?" She asked me, a glint of hope in her eyes. I nod as I give her a warm smile.

"Yes. I have a daughter now. Her name is Renesmee, you can meet her if you want. She'll be here soon she went out with a friend," I explained to her.

"That would be nice," Gwen said, smiling slightly.

"Just don't mention to her that this can kill you," I told Gwen, biting my lip.

"No problem, I take it she doesn't know?" Gwen asked me, raising an eyebrow. I nodded painfully. We were still scared about telling Renesmee that she did cause me to die when I gave birth to her or the fact that Edward and practically half of this family had wanted her dead. She was still very young and I didn't want her to think that we hated her. I knew she would be extremely upset.

I look to see Edward's face twisted with a bit of pain. I know how he regrets that he wanted his daughter dead; how he almost got ride of this beautiful little girl he would do anything for. It's one of his biggest regrets.

"Anyway don't worry Gwen, I'll help you," I told Gwen looking back at her and she smiled.

"Thank you so much," She told me, smiling as I gave her hand another soft squeeze.

"No problem. Anyway I'm Bella, and this is my husband Edward. Over there is Rosalie and her husband Emmett, and this is Carlisle and Esme," I told her softly.

"Nice to meet you all," she said, smiling politely. I could tell she felt out of place, but Alice brought her to us. She needs our help and we won't rest until we do.

"You too Gwen, I hope we can help you in any possible way," Esme told her, smiling warmly as she helped Gwen get comfortable on the couch. "Anyway I'm going to get you some clean clothes and after this we'll set you up somewhere comfortable. We'll make sure you feel at home in no time dear."

"Thank you all again, so very much," Gwen said as Esme and Rose then helped her. "I trust you."

"Don't worry, you can," Rosalie reassured her. "Now come on, let's get you comfortable. If they're anything like Renesmee, they're restless."

"I called Jake, Renesmee should be coming here soon," Edward announced, shutting his phone off.

"Okay," I said, resting against his chest. "I just hope she doesn't find out the whole truth yet. I was hoping we'd save that conversation for when she was a teenager or an adult."

"I do too love, but right now we just have to wait and see," Edward muttered, kissing the top of my head.

Only fifteen minutes later there was a knock at the door, indicating that my baby girl was home, and she was just in time to see a new cleaned up Gwen.

Moments later there is a knock on the door indicating my baby is home. Boy, this was going to be a bumpy ride.
