AN: Oh gosh it's only been about. . . several months since I updated this. In my defense, I haven't had internet in forever and I have to do this while I'm at school! I also started to lose interest in this story, but I hope now this will get me back on track. I've already posted new stories since I. . . abandoned this, one even being a multi-chaptered story (WHAT WAS I THINKING?) so I need to wrap this up in the next few chapters. I hope those who have been waiting haven't lost interest like I did.

FoxfaceFan1: I feel really bad for abandoning you because you were my most loyal reader. I'm so sorry!

Guest #1 & #2: Thanks for the kind reviews.

Harley Lunatic: OH GOD YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT ME XD. It's not out of laziness though, mostly it's out of having too many interests at once and having actual real work to deal with.

Poptart: Thank you!

83 15: I haven't been able to find any! I really wanted to read some, too!

Guest: You already have an answer to your question.

Matthew: Thanks!

Guests: Um. . . yeah. . .

Gus: Working on it!

Blake: Hahaha

Philip: Aww! Way to guilt-trip! This is actually one of the reviews that finally made me feel bad enough to finally update again. I do appreciate the kind review, you are very sweet.

Again, I am deeply sorry about this. You all have the right to hate me. I will also eventually get around to updating my other multi-chaptered story that is in the fandom "Glee". All you Glee fans that don't hate Sebastian Smythe, go check out my story! You can then once again be disappointed and angry with me as you get attached to that story while I don't update it. Sounds like fun, right?

I also want to post some Doctor Who stories because that's like my favorite thing ever. Also Merlin. We'll find out!

"Rick we need to discuss something." Brian made sure his tone held no room for argument, as the other man seemed to have other things on his mind. It apparently worked. Rick turned his attention away from the fields he was currently working in, and his two eyes met Brian's single one.

"What's going on?" he asked. He looked tired, and way older than he should have. Brian assumed he couldn't be any older than his mid-thirties to early-forties, but he could have easily passed for fifty in that moment.

Brian shook his head. "Nothing I can't take care of," he answered after a while. He knew Rick was still dealing with the whole Tyreese and Carol incident and decided to wait to share his discovery with him.

Rick looked confused, but nodded slowly. "All right. Good talk."

Brian nodded and as he walked away, he could still feel Rick's eyes on his back. He only hoped Rick trusted him.

"SALLY! SALLY!"

When Brian heard the yelling, he didn't hesitate to take off in a run. He had just been walking around the gates, looking for more evidence about the Biters being fed, when he heard the voice of a little girl. Lizzie came into sight and she was standing just inches away from the gate, he eyes worriedly searching for someone. "Sally!" she cried out again.

Brian approached her and put his hand on her shoulders. "Lizzie! What's going on?"

"I can't find Sally," the young girl complained. She didn't look as worried as she had sounded earlier which helped put Brian's mind as ease.

"Who is Sally?" Brian asked her. He had been at the prison for a while now, but had not yet heard of a Sally.

Lizzie shrugged. "I'm not sure. That's just what I decided to call her."

"Who are talking about?" It felt as though Lizzie was talking in riddles, which frustrated Brian because he wasn't sure how to help her.

"She's one of them," Lizzie explained, pointing to the Biters behind the fence. "I named her Sally because she kind of reminds me of a doll I had when I was little named Sally."

Brian straightened up and looked at the Biters. "Lizzie," he said slowly. "Those aren't people, you know that, right?"

"Then what are they?" Lizzie asked, her eyebrows raised.

"Well. . ." Brian wasn't sure how to answer the question. In fact, it was the one question no one on Earth had the answer to. "That's just it, Lizzie. We aren't sure. But they're dangerous; they would kill you in a second. They were once people, but then they got sick-"

"I was sick," Lizzie interrupted. "And so were most of the people here. Aren't we still people?"

"It's different," Brian explained. "These. . . things are dead now."

"We need to help them." Lizzie was looking at Brian with such seriousness in her eyes that told Brian she wasn't going to let up anytime soon.

"We can't," he said. "You should know all of this by now. Who-"

"Brian!" A voice cut Brian off from his speech and he turned to see Carol approaching the two of them. "Brian, I need to talk to you."

Brain looked over at Lizzie and knelt down. "You think about what I said now, all right?" Lizzie nodded and Brian straightened up. He turned to Carol. "Everything go all right?"

"Can we take a walk?" she asked. Brian nodded and followed her. She was walking quickly, almost frantic, and Brian could sense the woman had a lot on her mind.

"Everything all right?" he asked again once they were away from everyone else.

"No." Carol stopped walking and turned to face Brian.

"Tyreese-"

"Took it better than I thought he would," Carol interrupted. "He's a changed man, that much is for sure. He was understanding. It's not Tyreese that's the problem, it's Lizzie."

"Lizzie?"

"Look I don't know who else to talk to about this. The rest of the prison doesn't trust me yet, so that leaves you. You've killed many people, Brian, but I don't necessarily have a clean slate, either."

"What's going on?" Brian was tired of everyone at the prison not getting to the point when they talked to him. Like they worried that telling him the wrong thing might make him snap back into the Governor.

"I think. . . I think Lizzie is feeding the Walkers."

"You think Brian might be plannin' somethin'?" Daryl asked Rick as the two stood in the cell block.

"No," Rick answered quickly. "I just think he's hiding something."

"What's the difference?" Daryl asked.

"Not all secrets are necessarily dangerous," Rick pointed out. "Though I would like everyone at this prison to do their best and not keep things to themselves." Judith began to cry in his arms and Beth came down the stairs with a bottle. She handed it to him and he began to feed his daughter.

"D'you want me to try and figure out what's goin' on with him?" Daryl asked.

Rick sighed. "I don't know. Just wait a little while and see what happens. It's not like I'm expecting him to take over the prison anytime soon. He just came to me when I was out in the fields and he looked worried about something. Maybe he'll find the right person to talk to. Maybe I just wasn't the one."

"Who d'you think he will go to?" Daryl asked.

Rick adjusted Judith in his arms so her head was resting comfortably on his shoulders. He gently rubbed her back before turning his attention to Daryl. "Somebody he can relate to, I'm sure."

"Carol."

Rick nodded. "Carol."

~TWD~

"Is that what you were talking to her about?" Carol asked Brian as the two sat alone together in the grass.

"She thinks they're just regular people," Brian explained slowly. "Almost as though if we're nice to them, they'll be nice back."

Carol shook her head. "It's almost sad. We adults expect the kids to just be understanding with everything that's going on, we forget that they might have questions. We can't expect them to understand when we as adults don't really, either."

Brian nodded slowly. "That's why it's our job to do our best to make them understand."

Carol sighed. "I remember trying to explain all of this to Sophia. When the. . . virus first hit, Sophia was so confused. She saw one of her friends from school as a Walker and asked me why we couldn't stop the car and help her. At the time Eddie and I weren't sure what was going on at all, either, but we knew that there was nothing we could do. We tried to explain that to her, but she was just so upset. Eddie got angry of course and Sophia was too scared to ask anymore questions. It's funny, though because when I lost her, I was just like one of the kids, because I thought maybe there was something I could do to help her. Maybe I could get my daughter back if I talked to her enough. Of course that was just really stupid-"

"Stupid isn't the word I would use," Brian said. "In fact, I was thinking just the opposite. You're talking to a man who actually tried. I tried to help my daughter when she got bit. She was all I had left, and I refused to let go. I talked to her as though nothing had changed, as though she was the same girl I had raised. I brushed her hair, I sang to her." Brian took a deep breath and looked at Carol. "You and I need to talk to Lizzie, Carol. Because if anyone is going to understand how she feels, it will be us."

I know this is a super short chapter, but I wanted something posted ASAP so you guys could get this quickly. I really do apologize for my absence and for not updating this. I really hope I get back on track. I'll start on the next chapter as soon as I can, but don't stress if it takes about a week to get the next one. I know, I am pure evil. I really hate short chapters, but I wanted to stop here for now. The next one will be (hopefully) longer.
