Chapter Eight

Dear Mr. Winchester,

Well, we finally arrived at our new location. Technically, this is our second new location. I would have written sooner but a lot has happened. We had to change locations due to some things that happened over the last few days. It has been rather crazy. I never imagined these sorts of things could happen in places like this. Perhaps I did think they might happen but never really thought I would actually be there when something like this would happen. I wonder if you heard about the incident? I am almost positive you would have heard something. I know that you have to have some sort of connection with the Guardianship since you were able to get me here. I'm assuming you still have contact too. And I seriously doubt that you would miss bloody huge news like this. But even though I know you heard all about this, I'm going to tell you about it. After all, I doubt you'd be able to get all the little details without me. Haha, you probably could but your secretary keeps telling me I should write longer letters. I am really trying, Mr. Winchester! But writing letters isn't really my thing and you never write back. It feels ridiculous to be writing letters and never receiving anything back. But I digress, I should be telling you about the recent the events that I am sure you're dying to hear.

Here goes nothing…

We arrived at our location about a week and a half ago. Pete and I stayed as roommates while Sam got moved to a different room. Our rooms are smaller than our old ones so it's two per room. (Our new rooms at this location are two per room too.) I kinda miss Sam. He's quiet but he's a great pal. He's a good listener like I sort of imagine you to be except Sam is more responsive than you. Well, once we got ourselves (and our dogs!) settled in, Mr. Mervin gave us our schedules for training. It's a bit different than our past training. We've been giving weapons and are expected to always be prepared to be attacked at any moment. I'm not particularly fond of this training. I hate feeling paranoid. I hope that training wasn't trying to make us all paranoid… because it definitely worked! Though, looking back, it was sort of a good thing that we were all so paranoid. Pete and I were having trouble sleeping and so were our dogs so we were almost always alert. I was a bit jealous when I found out Kangaroo was sleeping like a log the past couple of nights. His roommate Sep (short for September can't remember if I told you about him or not), on the other hand, hadn't been sleeping too good. The girls seemed to be handling it all right. They're tougher than they look and I admire that. Though, I wish I could at least get half the sleep they're getting. It is nice to know that they are feeling just as paranoid about stuff as Pete and I are. Mr. North told us later that the paranoia would wear off eventually. He said as junior agents it isn't unusual for us to be 'freaking out' as Tabitha says. But did you see that? Mr. North calls us junior agents. He thinks we all have the chance to truly become a part of the Guardianship. It makes me feel a little better about being here. He really has faith in us all. He's a great leader and I'm beginning to see why he is the leader of our section. He really knows how to handle everything so well. I think he might be my favorite teacher here.

Now, I shall finally get into the incident. Though 'incident' seems a bit tame for what really happened. I wonder if you were shocked about the news? Maybe even slightly concerned for me?

It happened last Tuesday night. Pete and I had late night rounds with PJ and Nana (Pete's St. Bernard). It isn't too hard of a job. We just go around our dorm and check up on things before heading off to bed and calling it a night. We would have gotten to bed much sooner but the door leading to our hall was jammed. The lock was messed up so we had to go find Mr. Black and report it. With some help from Ms. Bertha and Mr. Mervin, we got it fixed and were finally able to get to bed. I told Pete to go ahead and sleep while I gave our dogs their water and treats. He had a bloody hard day. He and Kangaroo went through this radge obstacle course. It was like one of those courses you'd see on the telly for the army. I think Pete did a pretty good job. I was going to be doing a similar course the next day with Sam. But as you probably can guess that didn't happen since everything happened that Tuesday night. I gave the dogs their treats and water and plopped down into bed. Pete was already asleep. It had been barely half an hour and I was just about to fall asleep when it happened.

It was really strange… I just had this strange feeling that just made me wide awake. I popped my eyes open and I saw a glint of metal above me. Before I knew what I was doing, I found myself on top of the assailant. I guess all that training has finally become second nature to me though I probably should learn to do it a bit more quietly. In this case, it actually was a good thing I was loud. The assailant and I had yelled during our short scuffle and woke up Pete who flicked the light on just as I pinned the assailant down. The light did surprise me a bit and it took me a moment to adjust to the brightness. I'm kinda more of a night person. I adjust better to the dark than in the light. Though, Pete's nightlight isn't so bad. It helped me see that knife! And with the light on, I could finally clearly see who was trying to attack me. To Pete and my horror, it was Kangaroo's roommate Sep!

I got the knife away from him and kept him in place while Pete went and got Mr. Black. I wanted to interrogate him then and there. I think I had every right since the guy was trying to bloody kill me! But Pete told to stay put and not do anything until he and Mr. Black came back. It felt like forever but they finally returned. Mr. Black took charge of Sep and told me to head off to see Miss Bertha. I didn't see why I had to go see her. I was perfectly fine, not even a scratch. But Pete also insisted so off I had to go see our official nurse. I only went because he promised to tell me about how things went with Sep and Mr. Black. That was another not so fun wait. Gave me time to think over what all happened. I was surprised PJ and Nana didn't wake up when Sep came in. Pete was knackered out so I wasn't really surprised that he wasn't alert. But the dogs? They should have sensed him. But they didn't. It was something I planned on asking Pete as soon as he returned.

When Pete came back, he had quite the news for me. He was actually rather pale so Miss Bertha did a quick check up on him. After that, he finally finally told me about it. Apparently, Sep had been planning this whole thing for quite some time. And the strangest part? He wasn't trying to kill me! He was after Pete the whole time! But he was unlucky, or was I the unlucky? You see, Pete was soo tired he went to my bed and I also didn't notice and slept in his bed. Sep wouldn't have known that we accidentally switched beds since he's only been in our room a couple of time and at the time we were sitting on our respective beds. Oh and he jammed the lock to make sure Pete and I took longer than usual so he could slip some sleeping pills into our bag of dog treats. I had forgotten he was put in charge of the treats… so that explained why our dogs didn't notice him entering. I had started to get slightly worried that familiarity made PJ not alert me. I'm sure Pete felt the same way about Nana. But back to Sep. I didn't know this, but not all of us will probably make it into the Guardianship. Sep knew this and was afraid he wouldn't get picked as the Guardian of Fall? Not exactly sure what that is… I suppose all the talk of us being Guardians from Mr. North must have gotten him really worried. He thought they would end up picking Pete over him for that Guardianship. Though personally, I don't really see Pete as a fall sort of guy. Well, Sep didn't want that to happen so he decided he'd try to get rid of Pete. But as you know that obviously didn't go as planned. He got caught and Pete and I are just fine.

I'm not sure how 'fine' we are though. It's… it's well hard to cope in a way when one of your fellow guys tried to kill you and your friend. Trust has been broken. Mr. Black said that trust is an important part of the Guardianship. I understand that… but it's just going to be hard. But at least I have you and Pete, right? We'll get through it somehow so don't worry about me. I don't really think you're worried but I know you care about me to some extent. And well, that's enough for me to have some trust in you. You and I have a ways to go before I can fully trust you.

Well, I'm afraid I have to end this letter. I wonder if this one might be my longest one? Haha! I should get a prize if it is!

Jack Frost

(P.S. Just wanted to apologize for this letter being sent so late. I wrote the address wrong and it was resent to me. I hope that you'll forgive me since I was able to make this a decently long letter?)

Author's Note: Hi there! It's been awhile. ^^;; I've actually been out from college for quite some time but just hadn't had the time to sit and update. :P Been busy working on writing Red Snowflakes on My Eyelashes and editing some of the previous chapters for this one... still need to update those haha. And well my house's air conditioner broke sooo my brain shut down from all the heat. But good news! It's fixed and now I'm ready to write again! Hopefully I can update faster. *fingers crossed* I hope you guys enjoy this chapter and hopefully I'll finally be able to post those new RotG fanfics that I told you about TheBookAlchemist!

Author's Response to Reviews:

Guest 1- I love this story so much! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CONTINUE! I feel like I'm checking at least twice a week to see if the next chapters are up! It's one of the best story ideas/stories in general that I've seen in a long while, so keep at it!

Aw thank you so much! I'm glad you like it! So sorry that it's taken so long to update. School and summer heat do not help my brain! I'm really flattered that you like it so much! *hugs* I'll do my best to keep up the good work!

Guest 2- I really love this story, please please please keep updating! I find myself to keep checking to see if another chapter has come. Anyways, it's coming along great so far, and you seem to be improving as you go on, so I can't wait to see where this goes!

Thanksies! I'll do my best to update more frequently. And yes, I'm very glad to see that it's been improving. I hate some of my earlier works but this one is actually pretty good at the beginning though I do plan on editing it abit thanks to Daziy is Soniq's help. :) Please keep reading!

Ddall- Did You Just Put Supernatural and RotG together?! That is sooo cool but sooo off...

Ummm... no? I don't know what Supernatural is actually. XD This story is actually loosely based off of the little I know about Kingsman and the letters idea part is based on the book Daddy-Long-Legs.

Wolfan Terror- British Jack... okay, I'm sold. Cockney accents always annoyed me, so I'll be imagining Jack with an accent from my local area :3
And I laughed when I saw the British words. Half of them are completely new to me. (Say knackered, but zonked? Laugh forever now.) Heck, I'm not saying they aren't British, as they probably are. But a few I never knew exist are slapper, radge and dosh. Blew my mind, like radge? Ptff gonna use it from now on and confuse the hell out of my mates at school. Then I'll force the whole school to use it.

Heh heh thanks! I really wanted to try out a British Jack and this idea came to mind so I just ran with it. Aaaah cockney, eh? I'm not too fond of those myself. I actually imagine Jack with the average British accent that most British actors have. Haha soo maybe I'm not writing the accent very well? Just let me know what I can improve! I'd appreciate it! :D :D :D Oh... yes, the British slang. Haha... I'm no Brit so yah. I got it off a vocabulary chat thingy on Pinterest that had American and British slang equivalents so I could be using some old ones and inaccurate ones. Radge?! Oh my stars, I really fell in love with that one. You totally should use it. ;) Have fun with that and please keep reading! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Ta-ta!
