It was a Tuesday morning when Sakura was walking to school. Along the way, she stopped at a crosswalk and waited as cars were passing by. While she waited for her chance to walk, she hears running and looks back to see Sunohara.
"Hey." He calls.
"Ugh." Sakura gave him a dismissive look, "...Sunohara."
"Don't be rude." Sunohara responds, smiling bitterly. "Isn't it about time you start calling me by my actual name instead of that?"
"I'm fine the way it is."
Sunohara frowns, "You really are mean... Even after all I've done..." He pauses for a few seconds and then spoke. "...Hey, do you still have what I gave you?" he asks softly.
"You mean the pendant?" She asks, and Sunohara nodded wordlessly. "I do."
"You do?" He said with delight.
"Believe it or not, I actually treasured it and kept it safe all these years. Like other things." Sakura explains, pointing at the hairpin on her head, "I have the pendant in my dorm room."
"...That's actually nice to know." Sunohara said, beaming. "To know that you've kept something from me dear."
"It has reminded me of happy times in the past. I guess it's thanks to you." Saying that, she slightly bowed her head.
"Don't mention it" Sunohara waved his left hand. "I'm great, aren't I?"
"Don't get full of yourself. How you are acting right now, isn't what one would call great."
"Are you trying to be friendly to me?" He asks, catching up to her.
"In a way, yes." She nods.
"Then what's with that attitude?"
"I'm sure it'd be obvious already." Sakura faces him.
"If it is, then why don't I know?"
"Because you're dense."
"Me? Dense? How can I be when I figured out that Sakagami Tomoyo is a guy?"
"You thinking that she is one makes you dense!"
"You say because you haven't seen me reveal it yet." Sunohara grins, and waved his right index finger, "Soon enough, it'll be revealed. Like today for example."
"You see what I mean?" Sakura sighs.
At lunch break, Sakura found herself standing with Okazaki behind Sunohara in the same building they met Tomoyo just the day before. "You're really persistent." Tomoyo says, closing her eyes sighing.
"I couldn't agree more." Tomoya said.
"I'm only here to to talk to you since you're so cute." He said with a smile.
"I can't trust your words at all." Tomoyo says.
"Oh, crap! I forgot my breasts that I need for my next class! Tomoyo!" Youhei blurted, sticking his hands out. "Lend me yours!"
"Why?" She asked, covering her chest with her arms.
"Ha! I got him!" Sunohara turned around to the others with a proud look. "You guys heard her too, right?"
"What exactly your point? Okazaki asks.
"The fact that he said 'why' means he can lend them!" Sunohara then turns back to the second-year and points at her chest. "In other words...his breasts are detachable!"
"Of course they're not." Tomoyo closed her eyes in anger. "First of all."
"First of all?"
"What kind of class would make use of breasts?!" She asked in exclamation as she kicked him away, sending across the hall. After Sunohara's loss in the fight, Sakura and Okazaki had brought Sunohara to the Nurse's Office where he was patched up.
"His guard is real tough." Sunohara muttered angrily as they left the office. There were bandages on his face, and a few on his blonde hair.
"You're still going to try?" Tomoya questions in disbelief.
"Of course, I'll get him next time." Sunohara declares.
Ahead in the hall, they see a small first-year girl who was holding a wooden object. She pointed at Okazaki. "Ah, there's the weird guy."
"I'm not a weird guy." Okazaki replies.
"Wait, weird guy." She pulled onto Okazaki's sleeve, stopping him.
"So it's me, huh?" Tomoya remarks, stopping with Sunohara and Sakura.
"Of course its you. You're so weird that it's rare. Like one that may not seen for a hundred years. I don't think its an exaggeration. Actually, yes! I'm sure it ain't an exaggeration!"
"Thank you very much." Okazaki bowed.
"No need to thank me."
"I'm Tomoya Okazaki from Class 3-D and these two are my classmates."
"Who is this kid, someone you know?" Sunohara asks.
"Oh gosh, its looks like there's two weird guys!"
"Huh? Just what's weird about me?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Your hair color is weird!" The first-year exclaimed.
"For someone she met for the first time, she's pretty rude." The blonde mutters in disgust.
"I only want to talk to the weird guy." The starfish-carrying girl took Tomoya by the hand and guided him out of the interior. Sunohara and Sakura followed after till she stopped at the garden. "What I wanted to say was.." She turned around to speak but paused upon seeing both Okazaki and Sunohara.
"What?" The two males say in unison.
"It's double weird guys!" She exclaims.
"But you told us to follow you." They said in unison.
"But I only wanted to talk to him!" She pointed to Tomoya.
"But you called me a weird guy too." Youhei said.
"Only your hair is weird, but you're weird all over!" The second part was directed to Okazaki, but Sunohara himself, seemed furious.
"This kid is totally picking a fight, right?" Sunohara's face showed anger and annoyance.
"My whole existence weird, you're only part weird so you're lucky." said Okazaki.
"I'll let it go this time, kid." Youhei began walking out of the garden.
Sakura followed after him. "You guys are getting involved with different kinds of people, aren't you?"
"That was my first time ever meeting her." Sunohara looks back at the garden. "Calling my hair weird...who is she, by the way?"
"How am I supposed to know? It's my first time seeing he, too." Sakura looks back in the distance, "But it seems Okazaki knows her." She looks back and saw Sunohara staring into space. "Sunohara?"
"..." He just stared into space and then suddenly smiled. "Call Okazaki. We're gonna settle this 'guy' mystery once and for all."
"You know I have other things I want to to do."
"This time, I swear I won't do anything aggressive." Sunohara assures. "I'm just going to talk to him."
"You can go do that on your own. I'm going to go get lunch."
"Sure you don't want to witness the actual truth?"
"I'm sure of it." She stated.
"Fine. I'll just head there with Okazaki then." The blonde boy waved at Sakura and began walking off. Sakura watched him leave her sight before she too went walking off. She went to the cafeteria where she bought her stuffed bread, and proceeded to eat it in the courtyard.
After a few silent minutes of eating, and hearing the idle chatter of students passing by, she finishes her food. "I wonder how he's doing..." She wondered, looking around. In the distance she saw both Ryou and Kyou running. Sakura followed them and ended up at the back of the school where the were many bushes, grass and trees. The two sisters were running after Botan.
"Hey guys."
They both face her. "Oh, it's just you." Kyou says in relief.
"What happened during lunch?" Ryou asks.
"I'm sorry about not telling you guys." The brunette said in apologetic tone. "Sunohara just dragged me into his schemes again."
"Sure sounds like something he'd do." Kyou replies.
"So Botan's here?" Sakura walked up to the little boar creature. "Hi, Botan."
"Puhi!"
"This is a problem." Ryou said with an worried expression. "We still have a whole day of school left."
"Why not let Botan head home by himself?" Sakura suggests.
"That's too dangerous." Kyou shook her head. "I'll just have Tomoya or Youhei watch him."
In the bushes in the distance from where the three girls were at, Sunohara and Okazaki along with a girl were hiding. She was Furukawa Nagisa, the same girl Sakura saw on her first day, and the one who was with Okazaki during the incident with the bikes.
"I heard Kyou say our names." Tomoya says, moving his eyes to his blonde friend. "So you plan to involve both the sisters and Kimura?"
"No, just our class rep, and Sakura if she would like to."
"I don't think she'll join."
"That is true. I don't want to force a matter like that onto her."
"You forced your help onto her, didn't you?"
"...T-That's different!"
"How so?"
"...Never mind me. If not her, then that just leaves our class rep. But with her older sister here, it'll be tough." Sunohara mutters, placing his hand under his chin.
Tomoya leaned in and whispered to Sunohara. "Go and get the younger one and tell her that someone wants to confess to her. The older one should be considerate and back off
Sunohara grinned. "I understand. Nice idea." Sunohara walks out and approached the three girls. "Hey guys." The three turn to him.
"Youhei?" Kyou responds, surprised at him coming out nowhere. "Where'd you come from?"
"Oh, I was just passing by." He replies.
"How'd it go with Sakagami?" Sakura asks.
"I'll save that for later." Sunohara turned to the timid sister. "Uh, Class Rep, there's someone that wants to confess to you."
"What?" Ryou became flustered.
"Huh!?" Kyou remarks. "Who?"
"I can't say who. We'll meet you at the roof, okay?"
"G-Got it..." Ryou responds.
"Alright, I'll be going now." Sunohara proclaims with his right hand up and began to head back into the school.
"Hmm... I'll see you two later." Sakura says to the twins and went after the blonde. "Hey Sunohara! Wait!"
"Yes, friend? You needed something?"
"To tell me what's going on."
Sunohara had a defeated face. "Fine... I lost to Tomoyo again-"
"No, not about Sakagami. I mean with Ryou and this confession." She gave him a skeptical stare. "What are you planning exactly?"
"Alright, what I'm doing is helping out Okazaki and the Drama Club girl."
"Drama Club? Okazaki? That doesn't match at all."
"That's what I think, too. Remember that girl that was with Okazaki during the incident with the bikes?"
"Oh yeah, her."
"Well, she's trying reestablish the Drama Club, and Okazaki's helping her, and now so am I."
"And why is that?"
"Because of bread. I'm going to head to the roof now. Later!" Sunohara waved at Sakura and went into the school building, leaving Sakura who was still confused.
"Bread? Wait, how does a confession fit into helping the Drama Club?"
"So this it." Ryou said as her sister and Sakura followed her up the stairs to the roof of the school. It had been about 3 minutes since they had been told about her meeting for a confession, and she had nervous the whole time.
"Are you ready?" Kyou asks her sister.
"I-I think so..." She replied, still flustered. Ryou closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before heading up the roof and closing the door.
"This is really surprising..."
"I don't know... Something seems a bit weird-" Sakura stopped talking as Kyou went close to the door to place her head against it.
"Are you going to eavesdrop?"
"Don't tell me that you aren't curious." Kyou said in a voice that told her speak more low. Sakura shrugged and joined her at the door.
On the roof of the school, Ryou stood nervously in front of Okazaki, Nagisa and Sunohara.
"Um..."
"She's the one that needs to speak to you." Tomoya says, placing his hand on Nagisa's shoulder.
"Eh?!" Ryou responds with a surprised face, stepping back as Nagisa stepped forward to her.
"I'm Furukawa Nagisa from Class 3-B. I'm sorry for calling you out of the blue."
"I-I'm Fujibayshi Ryou from Class 3-D..."
"You're a class rep, right?" Nagisa asked.
"Yes."
"That's impressive. I can never do that, so I admire you."
"I-It's nothing..." Ryou waved her hand at her the girl
"I have something to ask of you. Will you listen to me?" Nagisa asked the girl with serious eyes.
"She's serious about it. So answer her as seriously as well." Tomoya says.
"P-Please wait..." Ryou held her hand to her chest as she began to blush. "I didn't think that it's be a girl so..."
Sunohara stepped closer, joining in the conversation. "I don't think that gender matters. What matters to me is the passion." Sunohara declared, placing his hand to his chest.
"You can say good things out of the blue." Tomoya said, gesturing to him.
"It's because deep down I'm a good guy." Sunohara also gestured back.
"Is it weird to be asked by a girl?" Nagisa asked.
"N-Not at all...you're very cute, Furukawa-san." Ryou stutters in her words. "But if it's with me...how should I put this?"
"I've been thinking about it for a while...but I've decided to be serious about it!" Nagisa asserts.
"So you were that troubled by it?" Ryou and Nagisa then got closer and held hands. As they did that, Sunohara himself found the scene 'exciting'.
"I don't know what to do now... Would you please listen to me." Nagisa pleaded.
"Err..." Sunohara groaned. The scene happening in front if him was actually turning into a confession rather than a question.
"O-Okay...I'll listen." Ryou responded.
"Will you, will you...?" Nagisa brought her face closer to Ryou. "...Help me reestablish the Drama Club?"
"Yes... Eh?" Ryou gasped at the words, expecting to hear a different question.
The sturdy door that lead up to the roof fell over with Kyou on it. Sakura was at her side, standing and holding Botan.
"Sis?" Ryou says her name in surprise. Okazaki and Sunohara turn and notice them.
"Kyou!" Sunohara shouted in fear.
"Y-You two...! How dare you fool around with my sister!" Kyou utters, getting up and grabbing the two guys by their necks and choking them.
"...So it really wasn't a confession you called her for." Sakura looked away from the violence and at the two girls the side. They were still holding hands and were in each other's personal space.
Kyou released her fatal grasp on Okazaki and Sunohara all while keeping eyes (which turned red and demonic) on them. "You two better explain what's going on."
Kyou brought the two to the Drama Club along with Nagisa to explain their story. Sunohara and Okazaki were kneeling in front of her.
"And that's that..." Tomoya explains.
"So you just wanted to recruit her?" Sakura says, wondering why they took the route they did.
"You should've said that sooner." Kyou sighed. "Well, what do you have to say?"
"It's Sunohara's fault." Okazaki meekly said.
"It's yours!" Sunohara exclaimed at him.
"I'm sorry. I'm bad at explaining things." Nagisa apologizes.
"It's okay. It just made my heart skip a beat." Ryou remarks.
"Ryou." Sakura whispered to her ear. "Were you actually serious with her?"
"...Um..." She failed to reply.
"Hey you." Kyou called Nagisa. Are these two the only friends that you have?"
"Friends...they're just helping me reestablish the Drama Club." Nagisa answered while looking at the two.
"I bet they've got some hidden motives behind that." Kyou then smiled as she thought of something. "Hey, why not ditch them and hang with us three?"
"Where's our dignity?" Youhei muttered.
"You're only in it for the bread, though." Okazaki said to him.
"I'm sorry, but I can't just leave them since they've gone their way to help me." Nagisa replied. "Okazaki-san and Sunohara-san are nice people."
Leaping off her chair, Kyou whispers over to Okazaki. "Seems like you've won her over. Are you two, like after her?"
"Heck no." Tomoya responded.
"The rules for starting club require three members. All Furukawa-san needs is three more members." Ryou explained.
"She's not even allowed to recruit members." Tomoya testified. "So how can she get two more members?"
"Yeah, that's right." Sunohara agrees with a nod.
"There already two members here." Kyou states, catching the duo's attention.
"Hm?" Okazaki raises his eye brows.
"Where?" Sunohara asks.
"You, and you." Kyou said, pointing at them.
The two infamous delinquents declined the offer with gestures simultaneously. "No, no."
"Huh?" Kyou responded in disbelief. "Why-" Kyou was cut off by the bell.
"Saved by the chime." Sakura said.
"Indeed. You two are lucky that it saved you." Kyou asserts and looks at the two. "You two better head to class. You should too." She says to Nagisa.
Kyou, Ryou and Nagisa left the Drama Club room, leaving Sakura and the other two in there.
"I seriously felt I was going to die..." Sunohara mutters, standing up.
"No matter what you do, you get yourself in danger, don't you?" Sakura stated.
"Once again, it's his fault." Sunohara points to Okazaki.
"No it isn't."
"...I wonder what is Kyou is thinking? Why would we join the Drama Club?"
"Maybe because you two are helping her?" Sakura said, shrugging.
"Why don't you join?" Sunohara suggests. "I'd like to see you act."
"No thanks, I'm not into clubs... Especially something like the Drama Club." Sakura said, shaking her head.
"Well, I guess the feeling is mutual." Sunohara drifted over to Okazaki who seemed to be in deep thought. "We're not interested in this, right, Okazaki?"
"Hmm...what can we do if we can't recruit members by hand or by flyers?"
"Oh, you're still gonna help Nagisa-chan out?" Sunohara asked with a smirk.
"Of course, or else I wouldn't get the free bread." He replies.
"I guess you're right, I'll get serious about helping her too, maybe having her as a friend will make school different." Sunohara looks at Sakura. "Don't worry, I won't forget about you, Sakura."
"I can pretty much agree on that. Come on, lets head to class."
"Alright, tomorrow's another day at attempt fighting Tomoyo." Sunohara proclaims as they left the club room.
"It's just gonna end in failure, Sunohara. It's like you're doomed for it." Sakura says, looking at the club room. The club room was nearly the size of a classroom. The front of the classroom had a blank green board, and the room itself was pretty empty, with most things like desks and boxes being stashed in the back of the classroom. "This is what Furukawa wants to revive, huh?"
"So you're going to get beaten up again?" The next day had come and it was lunch time at Hikarizaka High School. Sakura was in the hall outside Class 3-D with Okazaki and Sunohara.
"I'm beginning to think that he's a masochist." Okazaki stated with a look of disbelief.
"Don't say such weird things like that!" Sunohara exclaims.
"You're one to talk. You've been at the idea that Sakagami is a girl." Sakura articulated.
"You're right, Sakura." Sunohara raises his fist and smiled. "But today I'll have a home run this time."
Sakura sighed and closed her eyes. "Just how long will this continue?"
"I'm sure Tomoyo's thinking the same." Tomoya says.
"It's really different today, Sakura. My view of Tomoyo has changed."
"Uhuh. I've heard that from you these past days of school."
"No, really it has changed. Yesterday, after bringing Tomoyo to the bathroom and seeing her reaction, I was convinced that she was a girl." Sunohara explains.
"I see...Wait, you brought her to the boys' restroom?" Sakura gasps. Trying to fight Tomoyo and accusing her of being a guy was bad enough, now he had brought her to the boys' restroom. "You are pushing your limits you know?"
"I know, and I learned from it."
"Okay... So why are you still trying to fight her then?" She asks.
Sunohara smiles. "That's because she's a girl. After enough thinking, I've decided that I'm gonna use that fact to my advantage."
"Meaning?" Tomoya questions.
"I'm gonna try to get her guard low with compliments and then I'll strike her while she's weak." He asserts with a smug look.
"Just when I thought you were regaining your wits, it disappears." Sakura mutters. "So you're planning to play with her?"
"Yup." The blonde nods.
"You do realize that she can't stand you, right?" Tomoya articulated.
"That's why you are going to help me this time, Okazaki. It seems like you get along with her."
"More than you, I suppose."
"So when we get there, give me some advice on how I can get close to her." Sunohara looks to Sakura. "You coming along?"
"No." Sakura declines, pointing into the classroom. "I'm going to go enjoy the rest of my time not wasting it."
"Alright, see ya." Sunohara waves as he Okazaki leave down the hall.
That time in the hall was the last time Sakura had seen Sunohara for the whole day. He did not show up for the following periods of the day. "Alright, it's finally time.'' Tomoya says as the last period ended for the day.
"It sure is." Sakura looks at the empty desk to the right of Tomoya. Sunohara's bag was still hanging on the hook at the side. "He's still not here."
"He probably went off to play somewhere. Why, are you worried about him?"
The brunette flinched. "No. I'm just wondering."
"Sure. There's nothing going on, right?"
"Yeah, sure." She utters, shrugging and standing up. "And there isn't anything going on between you and Furukawa, right?"
"No, there isn't."
"Sure there is." Sakura grabbed her bag and waved at the blue haired delinquent before leaving.
