Here's another preview for a future story. I'd greatly appreciate some feedback as to my readers' thoughts on this idea.
One month into the second outbreak of the Mercer Virus in the NYZ, a head Gentek scientist was receiving some rather important news and he did NOT like what he was hearing.
"What the hell do you mean all three of the subjects escaped!?" he yelled at one of the soldiers assigned to guard the subjects.
"Exactly that, sir. Subject Gamma managed to break free from the testing facility and began slaughtering his way out. During his escape, he freed Alpha and Beta before all three of them began working together to decimate our forces. Nothing we threw at them had any effect. Over 89% of the forces guarding the building were killed."
"Damn it, do you know how important those subjects are to our different weapons programs!?" the scientist shouted, "Projects Spirit, Prototype, and Diclonius all required those subjects! I mean, Subject Beta was actually pulled from another fucking dimension for fuck's sake! Alpha was the only one of her specific mutation we actually managed to capture alive! If we can't get them back, all the work that we put into those projects, all those millions that we poured into them is for nothing! Do you understand!?"
"Yes sir!" the soldier said.
"Then, what are you still doing here? Go and get them!"
While the scientist was tearing the soldier a new one, three figures that looked like teenagers were standing on the roof of a skyscraper in the Yellow district looking out at the suffering city. One of the trio was a girl with long pink hair and was wearing only a blood-stained coat that covered her torso and barely stretched passed her womanhood. She had bone protrusions coming out of her head that looked slightly like cat ears. Her blood-red eyes were cold and emotionless. The other girl was fully dressed, albeit strangely. She was wearing a frilly crimson and black dress, giving her a gothic Lolita appearance. Her right eye was red, but her left was golden and took on the appearance of a clock face. She had long black hair tied into twin-tails. In contrast to her pink-haired companion, this girl had a warm and gentle façade, but her companions weren't fooled. They'd seen firsthand her cruel and sadistic nature as the trio had escaped Gentek's custody. The only male in the trio was another teenager. His auburn hair was cut short and his emerald green eyes were hard with rage and fury at what Blackwatch and Gentek had done to his home. He was wearing a leather jacket over a black hoodie with black jeans and gym shoes.
The pink-haired girl spoke suddenly, "So what should we do now?"
"I don't know what you two want to do, but I'm going to go after Blackwatch and free the city from their occupation, while hunting down the guy who made me the way I am: Alex Mercer. If you want to come with me, fine, but we're doing things my way."
Gothic Lolita licked her fingertips seductively as if to get the last of some sweet treat off them. "Well, I'd like to join you, my delectable-looking friend. I have a feeling that going with you will get me SO much time," she moaned as if the idea of killing people to get more literal time aroused her. From what her companions saw, they thought it probably did.
The male nodded his agreement before turning to the other girl, "What about you, Pinky?"
The girl glared at him, "Don't call me 'Pinky,'" she said before looking back at the city, "But, I guess I'll go with you for a while. You did get me out after all."
Gothic Lolita clapped giddily before she said, "Well, since we're all going to be joining forces, we should probably introduce ourselves. I'm Kurumi Tokisaki."
"I'm Jackson Mercer, though you can call me Jax," the boy said.
The pink-haired girl looked at him with curiosity, "Didn't you say Mercer was the name of that man you seek to kill?"
"He's my cousin," Jax said coldly.
"Mmm, familicide, how interesting," Kurumi said, giggling.
"Whatever. What's your name?" Jax asked the second girl.
"Lucy," she said simply.
Jax nodded again and turned back to the city, "Here's how it's going to work; there's a couple people that will be able to help us, though I only know where one of them could be. They're trustworthy, so I don't want them hurt or to mysteriously disappear. Try to avoid starting fights with every soldier and scientist. The last thing we need is for an entire army after us and keep the civilian casualties to a minimum. They aren't in this fight, so don't include them." Lucy just shrugged and Kurumi looked a little disappointed. Since they didn't go against his orders, he continued, "Well, let's get started. Gentek wanted to see how monsters worked, well, let's show them up close and personal!"
