Alright folks I'm back! I also have a co-writer helping me by the name of Danny vs A Month. I helped him a bit by giving ideas and what not as well as the use of my OC Rayne in his story Unforeseen Help. If you haven't read is story i recommend it highly. Now as my co-writer he will be helping me write the rest of this story and maybe a sequel depending on how things go. Anyways that's all for now, so enjoy!

As I made my way through the setup we had and towards Otto's truck I couldn't help but feel a little bit giddy. It felt really nice waking up to Alice this morning and I would happily say I wouldn't mind doing it every morning. However, all good things must come to an end, as was made evident by my stomach deciding it needed to be fed. As I was approaching Otto's truck I noticed K and Claire out of the corner of my eye also making their way over, presumably for their morning meal as well.

"Morning K, Claire. How did you guys sleep last night?" I asked as they got closer to me.

"It was alright. Claire snores, though." K said as she tried to cover her yawn with her hand."Yeah right, K." Claire rolled her eyes and stated in an amused tone of voice. "Hey, do you know where Alice is? She didn't come sleep in the Hummer last night." Claire raised an eyebrow and looked at me curiously as she asked. However I never got to reply as I felt a pair of arms wrap their way around my waist and felt someone lay their head on my shoulder.

"Sorry I didn't tell you Claire. I actually spent the night with Rayne and we talked a bit." Alice said from her position behind me. My face felt like it was on fire with how close she was to me, added to the fact that I was a little confused as to why she was being so forward this morning.

"Riiiight. Okay then, no problem. I can see you guys probably had a lot of catching up to do." Claire said as both her eyebrows relaxed from their shocked expression. K however still looked stunned. So Claire nudged her to bring her back into orbit.

"Huh! Oh, right. It's no problem Alice. We kinda figured you missed each other." K said as we all made our way to Otto's truck finally to pick up some food for the morning. We had all grabbed our food and a bottle of water, and I had gone to take a sip of my water when I ended up choking on it due to what she said next. "After all, Kama told me she used to talk about you all the time when you guys first got separated, I guess you were never far from her mind."

"K!" I said when I stopped choking. Then I face-palmed when I put the cap back on my water. "How come you had to go and mention that…."

"Come on Rayne, it's not that embarrassing. ….Wait, where are you going…..Rayne!" K said as I walked away from them.

"Leave me alone K-Mart." I said as I continued away from K, Claire, and Alice. Alice seemed worried, and Claire bonked K on the back of the head.

"Smooth, K. Real smooth." Claire sighed, and Alice looked unsure of what to do, which was really unusual for her. However, Claire noticed and decided to lend some advice. "Just give her some space, I don't imagine she wanted you knowing that just yet. So K jumping the gun probably did nothing to calm her nerves or anything."

"Yeah, you're probably right. I hope she doesn't think I mind it. I couldn't really stop thinking about her when i got my memories back after we were separated." Alice sighed somberly and watched as I walked off to another part of the convoy.

As I walked away I felt kind of bad for leaving like that, but mainly I felt betrayed. I didn't want Alice to know that just yet, what if she thought it was weird or that I was too clingy due to it. I was sort of lost in my thoughts and didn't notice I was being watched, and followed as soon as I was out of Alice, Claire and K's line of sight.

I stepped around the tanker where I could eat in relative peace and where I could have a little warning before anyone got to me. Unfortunately, I was so lost in thought that I didn't hear the footsteps, like I had been planning to have as my warning. I got some beans out of the can and began to raise it to my mouth but was stopped by a hand spiking both the fork and can of beans out of my hands. I jumped badly, stumbling away from my could-be attacker and reaching for my sword as I turned toward them but stopped. For one, my sword was still by my bike and the asshole responsible for me not eating this morning was just Carlos.

"What the hell!?" I demanded.

"Oh sorry. Were you going to eat that?" Carlos asked, obviously faking being innocent. "My bad."

"You asshole!" I shouted. "No wonder Alice doesn't like you!"

"You're one to talk," Carlos snorted. "You think you can get her to date you by playing miss innocent goody-two-shoes. When, in reality, the only thing the two of you have in common is your freakish powers."

"That's a nice mindset to have when you're planning to date her. I'd so kill you right now if you didn't have a use, however small that may be." I looked back at my fallen breakfast and sighed.

"I know the two of you were experimented on together," Carlos snarled, voice dangerously low. "I know that whatever the reason, she does seem to be so attached to you that she doesn't see how she really feels about me, probably because of your powers but most likely because of what you went through. You see, I have it figured out now. It came to me in a dream last night. You see, whatever is between the two of you, is just her clinging to the one thing she can relate to. Freaks gather together like that."

"Watch your mouth!" I snapped. "Alice is not a freak! She is the best person I know! You're just lucky my sword is with my bike."

"Oh you mean this?" Carlos asked pulling her sword out from behind himself, blade exposed to the world. "It's a beautiful sword. I have to say, you take excellent care of it. I can't even tell it's been used, if I didn't know already. I thank you for this gracious gift."

"Oh fuck you! You're not taking my sword. Now give it to me before I take it from you."

Carlos shrugged. "Alright. Come on over here and I'll give it to you."

Something about his tone of voice told me that he in no way meant he would hand the sword to me. I grit my teeth, curling my hands into fists before a grin developed.

"You think you can take me?" I snorted. "I could beat the shit out of you even without my powers."

"Oh those won't be a problem. You never noticed it but, you set your ravioli down and left it unattended for exactly two minutes last night as you went to the bathroom, remember?" Carlos grinned but I didn't remember it too well but it was possible. "Well, did you happen to notice that the taste was a little, off?"

I shook my head slowly, and Carlos grinned. I growled in frustration, raising my hand to try to take my sword from him with my powers but nothing happened aside from me getting a headache and the sand around my feet shifting a half in toward me before stopping. My hand fell and my other went to my head.

"What did you do to me?"

"Simple. I put a couple pills into your food. They block the food from dissolving for twelve hours, leaving you, even full, no different than last night. Along with that, I slipped in a couple drops of Anti-virus for the T-Virus." Carlos sneered. "Go figure but, when your body goes without food, you're more susceptible to things like the antivirus, and infection by the virus itself. That will of course take twice as long as you'll go without food but the antivirus has weakened your powers beautifully. You're just like us now."

"Is that right?" I growled. "Fine. I'll take my sword back the old fashioned way and then kill you with it."

"I think not," Carlos said flatly. "But I'll give you a chance to survive. Stay the fuck away from Alice. Do that, and this will all go away. If not, you'll be sorry."

"You'll be sorry Asshole," I promised. "I'm not letting you be with Alice. I may not have a chance but you flat out don't deserve her."

Carlos grinned and shrugged, pointing my sword at me. "Then prove you're better."

I grinned, more than happy to do just that, and charged forward. Carlos swiped at my with my sword and I bent backward under it, placing my hands on the ground and bringing my right foot up, kicking him under the jaw. He flew a into the air, flipping as he flew backward, crashing to the ground beside the front tire. He stood, spitting out blood and charged forward. He raised his hand to slash at me and I caught his arm, throwing a punch at him. He caught it and moved to trip me but I twisted, trying to escape but instead we both fell, rolling down the hill to our right and further from the camp.

Carlos stopped first, stabbing my sword into the ground to catch himself and allowing me to continue rolling along the ground. Finally I stopped myself, standing and turning toward him in time to leap back as my sword flashed through the air, slicing through my stomach and sending my blood splattering over the ground, leaving a shallow cut in my stomach. I darted forward, throwing a punch at Carlos. He leaned out of the way then slashed at my arm. I spun away from it but the blade still left a fairly deep gash in it, the wound beginning to bleed profusely. I threw a punch with the other hand and this time connected with Carlos's jaw sending him reeling. I stepped forward, punching with that hand again, again connecting with his jaw. Before he could continue away from me, I kicked him in the side of the elbow, spraining it and making him drop the sword. He sprinted forward, putting distance between the two of us as I used my handkerchief to wrap the cut on my arm.

By now, people had heard the scuffle and were streaming around the truck, trying to figure out what was going on. Carlos sprinted at me, arms out to the side and jumped, intending to tackle me. I smirked and threw a push kick, my foot meeting his face and making him flip end for end and sail past me, crashing to the ground beside the sword.

"Enough Carlos. It's finished." I stated, ignoring the screaming pain in my hand and stomach.

"Fuck...you," Carlos spat, pushing himself up, using the sword for support, blood running out of his broken nose and busted lip. "You think you're so great? You don't deserve-"

"Carlos!" Claire snapped. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Mind your own business Bitch!" Carlos snapped. "This is between me and Rayne!"

"Normally I'd argue but in this case he's right," I stated. "I'll handle this myself."

Carlos sprinted forward, slashing wildly at me as I backed away as fast as I could. After a moment the sword tore into my side, leaving a fair wound, before slicing a scratch into my opposite leg. I grabbed a throwing knife from the back of my belt flicking it at Carlos as the same time as the sword flashed between my middle and ring fingers, splitting my hand halfway down. I staggered away as my knife embedded itself in Carlos's shoulder, making him stagger back and drop the sword. I bit back a scream, holding my wounded hand in front of me as Carlos pulled the knife out and stood. Alice took a step forward but I shook my head and she stopped. Carlos reached for the sword again but before he could, a second knife buried itself in his left leg, dropping him to the ground. Within a second, I had his arms pinned to the ground and was holding the knife I had just ripped out of his leg to his throat.

"Enough Carlos. You're done. If you ever threaten me or any of the others again, I'll kill you." I warned. "Do you understand me?"

Carlos managed a nod, eyes holding nothing but hatred for me but he was done fighting and he knew it. I put my knife away, standing and taking my sword before retrieving my other knife. Then, I walked over to Betty.

"I think I may be in need of your services."

"Right this way."

Betty led me towards her Ambulance as the others both parted so i could get through, and glared in disgust at Carlos. L.J. was among one of the people who wanted to leap in and help me, but stayed back.

"I can't fucking believe you man. That shit was uncalled for, you better hope she heals or I'll come after your ass."

L.J. said as he turned and grabbed Kama and Kurt and headed towards the Ambulance. Which was a benefit because Kama and Kurt looked like they were going to tear him to pieces.

I groaned as Betty had me sit down on one of the side seats in the back of the Ambulance. My hand, side, and leg throbbed in pain. I was royally fucked up, that asshole managed to do a good amount of damage to me, fucker wouldn't of been so lucky if he hadn't slipped me that bullshit drug.

"Hey, come on now don't pass out on me. He really did a number on you, damn. Mind telling me what all that was about? I have a hard time believing it was over a sword." Betty said as she rummaged through the cases and grabbed some peroxide, rubbing alcohol, a sewing kit, and some bandages. She turned around and sat down by me and motioned for me to put the sword down so she could help me with my shirt.

"Yeah, well it's not just a sword to me. It was a gift from my mother, and one of the few things i still have left from her. However you're right, it wasn't just about the sword. Carlos wanted me to back off of Alice, he even went as far as to slip something he called an Anti-virus into my meal last night so i didn't have access to my powers like usual. He's got it in his sick, twisted fucking head that…" I bit my lip to hold back my scream as Betty started looking at the wound on my side, once I laid down my sword, and we got my shirt off.

"That?" Betty prodded wanting me to continue my train of thought.

"that Alice is only interested in me because we both were experimented on together. the whole 'Freaks stick together' mentality. His words not mine. He seems to think her attachment to me is clouding her ability to see she wants him, damn deranged bastard. I told him he was fucking nuts, and that Alice wasn't a freak. He didn't take to kindly to the fact that I wouldn't back down or let him keep my sword." I hissed through my clenched teeth as she poured peroxide on my wound to clean it before sterilizing the needle with the rubbing alcohol and started sewing my wound shut. I grit my teeth and tried not to think about it.

"That man has been a bit unstable since he joined the group, at least from what I could tell anyways. He was always going on about Alice, and not like Claire did about you. He was obsessed with her, it was very disturbing. I can't say I'm not happy to have seen him put in his place, I am however sorry it ended up getting you pretty banged up." Betty finished stitching the wound and rubbed some alcohol over it and then bandaged it to help cushion the wound. Then she pulled my hand over where she could see it and started to work on it. "This is pretty hellish, your hand may be fucked for a while until your powers come back. If they come back, he did call this an Anti-Virus after all. So I'll patch it to the best of my ability."

"Thanks, Bets. That's all I ask." I said as I tried to keep my breathing calm and prevent myself from blacking out.

"Get this piece of shit out of my sight! I want him stripped of all his weapons and rendered unconscious until we can figure out a proper way to hold him." Claire barked as she tried to reign in her fury, but was failing badly. She wanted nothing more than to walk over and rip his head from his shoulders for pulling a bullshit stunt like that. The sword was special to Rayne, she knew, she asked once. Claire understood all too well, her ball-cap was something her brother gave to her.

"Yes Ma'am!" That was Chase (the cowboy), Reese (her old Second in command who Rayne had threatened in the mall), and some others who knew stories of Rayne. They all went over and wasted no time getting Carlos up and stripped of his weapons, then Chase smashed his fist into Carlos's face rendering him unconscious. Which earned a raised eyebrow from those around him.

"She never specified how to knock him out." He shrugged. Claire turned and looked at Alice, she seemed conflicted.

"You okay?"

"Fine. Just...I know that the sword is special to Rayne and all, and I know Carlos doesn't like Rayne, but I can't see the sword being enough to push them both to that extreme." Alice sighed one hand rubbing the back of her neck.

"You think that there's something else?" Claire asked.

"Maybe." Alice nodded. "But we both know Rayne would never tell me what it is. But, maybe you?"

"Alright Alice, I'll talk to Rayne about it." Claire smiled. "I'll let you know what I find out.

Alice smiled and nodded then turned to look toward the ambulance as Chase and Reese carried Carlos away.

"He'll be up in a couple hours," Alice stated. "Think he'd tell me?"

"Think you'd resist killing him?" Claire snorted.

Alice shook her head and sighed. Claire sighed too and looked around.

"We should get moving toward the city soon," Claire started. "As far as we are, it'll probably take until the day after tomorrow. Until then, I'm afraid you'll have to take her bike."

Alice nodded then walked to the ambulance, knocking on the door.

A knock sounded as Betty finished tending to the last of my wounds. Betty opened the door for a moment before closing it and turning to me.

"Alice," Betty stated.

"Help me get my shirt back on then," I sighed.

She did then opened the door to let Alice in as I finished adjusting my shirt. Alice climbed in and Betty climbed out, heading over to report to Claire. Alice sat across from me and gave me a worried look.

"I'm alright," I smiled. "Or I will be, at least."

"You sure?" Alice asked.

"Totally," I lied smiling. "With the exception of my hand, I should be good in a few days."

It wasn't a total lie. Still, I could swear she didn't believe me, even if that was a good choice. My mind drifted to Carlos's words about Alice, and more specifically, me. My emotions must have shown on my face because Alice reached forward and took hold of my good hand.

"You okay?" She asked worried.

"Yeah. Just...thinking." I stated, knowing that I didn't sound even remotely convincing.
