Longer chapter than the two previous.

Thanks for the review and for following my humble plot. I really like discussing it with you all.

Chapter 9

Tom was in the darknesss of his room. Sleep wouldn't come to him. He had been thinking about his black out in Slughorn's office.

He could hear Avery's snoring invade the small space. But it wasn't enough to make him loose focus on his thoughts. The professor had stopped being a flirt after he woke up strangely. Not that he complained, but it was weird nonetheless .

And the mark on his hand. It was like he had been harshly grabbed there. He stood up and went to the bathroom. He walked in front of the miror and looked at himself.

He had grown up pretty well. His babyfat was still there though making him look young but was less apparement, but it wouldn't be long for it to fade away. His pale face was the result of not going out often. He wasn't a sun person at all. His cristal blue eyes looked tired. Despite being whole, it didn't feel right. He felt like something was odd. The mark highly encouraged his thoughts.

He decided to take of his night robe to see himself clearly. To his surprised, and relief, his body was free of any other mark. He let his hand run on his torso. The skin was smooth and cold, he had no imperfection and it made him smile proudly. He was aware of being a good looking child. He hadn't yet reached puberty, and he couldn't wait so he would finally be taken more seriously by adults at least, by Harry too. And he wasn't so foolish as to think looks didn't matter in manipulating people. How many he could convert to his ideal just by a simple glance and a fake semblance of interest if he tried.

Harry found him cute right now. For some reasons he wanted him to find him handsome, nor cute nor lovely. Cute wasn't manly, it was childish and so not him.

Relived he had been overthinking it all, just when he was about to reach for his night robe, he took his wand instead. There could be glamours for all he knew. He didn't want to leave any doupt.

A bit hesitant, he pronounced softly the counter glamour spell. The mini dark lord wasn't the type to be scared or indecisive, he didn't like the feeling of not knowing either. As soon as he had said the words, his eyes opened widely. Small red marks appeared on his neck, torso and just above his intimate part. Red marks like the one on his hands appeared on his love handles.

"what the hell..." Rage and disgust invaded his mind. He was furious, the old man had dared put his dirty hands on him. The worse part was he didn't know to which extend. He also wasn't sure he wanted to know that precisely.

He ran to take a shower as fast as possible wanting to erase the filth.

He felt dirty, abused and nauseous. He vomited in the bathroom not able to contain it.

$The bastard... $ he whispered in parseltongue.

He stayed quite a while washing up. It was only an hour later that he exited the bathtub.

He went again in front of the mirror. With all the water that had been pouring on him, he hadn't felt the tears dropping down his checks.

Tears of rage. He felt sick to the core.

Could he tell Harry about this? Could he tell anyone about this at all?

No, no one would know about this humiliating episode of his life. Not even Harry, especially Harry.

He didn't want the wizard to look at him with pity, or disgust, he didn't want to fake understanding his situation. Because no one could.

He wanted revenge, he wanted the professor's blood to calm down. The dirty old pervert had dared touch him the heir of Slytherin.

But he also needed to calm down first. Acting on his emotion wouldn't do good in the long run. He was a future politician. And politicians had to master their emotions. Yes, he had to be emotionally smart to conquer the most trivial matter.

A plan, he wanted. A revenge that would make the filty git know his place. And never forget who he had dared to wrong.

His thoughts lingered on killing the old man, but it wouldn't satisfy him. He needed him to suffer, to beg, to apologise a thousand time through tears and blood.

He wasn't bad for wanting to inflict pain over the man he convinced himself, no. It was a perfectly normal reaction after having been wronged this much. Harry had taught him that torturing was wrong, killing was wrong. But in these kind of situations it just felt so right to react like this. To seek the blood of his rapist. Wasn't it also wrong to rape a poor innocent child? An eye for an eye. But Tom Riddle didn't believe in that saying. He believed that an eye was worth ten. He emplified, and didn't do half arssed jobs. Like he had done to Ted Le Fay.

He didn't sleep that night. Plotting and plotting. And thinking if it would be a good idea to remember what he had been victim of. He decided it was a matter that should better be forgotten, he would have to act perfectly normal in front of everyone for now, and remembering wouldn't do him any good.

OOOOoooOOoooooOOOooooOoOOooo

Harry had planned his first lesson for a long time now. He wanted it to be perfect. After all, first impression mattered greatly.

Of course he wasn't one for giving a damn about other's opinion, he had been used to being the center of attention his whole life. People had talked crap behind his back like they had also long praised him. But having people accept him for who he was mattered a bit when he was in this universe. Strangely because here, he could be just harry, just a man that didn't have the fate of the entire world on his shoulders. People would trust him for being him not for deflecting a killing curse on the most powerfull wizard of all time. Sure now he had power and immortality and a great name to his back. But those all didn't stand a chance in front of his boy who lived ex reputation.

He smiled, his killing curse colored eyes gleaming with excitment.

The students entered the room. It wasn't a typical classroom, it looked more like an arena, but with chairs instead. It was also quite big.

The duelling place was round and spacious enough to give the duellers a chance to show their full potential and have enough mobility. And was also higher for the students to observe the duels perfectly.

He stood in the center waiting for the students to take a sit.

Once the room was full and the students stoped gossiping, he started his welcoming speach.

"Welcome everyone to your first duelling lessons. First I want to make some points clear before starting. This is a club, therefore you're attending to learn for your own not for academic purposes, you won't be tested on your owl and newts on any spell learnt here, so if you were expecting this to be some kind of extra dada courses you're wrong. We are here to learn for the sake of leaning. But you could of course use the spells taught on the curriculum to duel." He could see that some Ravenclaws were a bit disappointed but we're also attentive and curious. The Slytherin we're practically smirking, like he just had been stating the obvious. The Gryphindor and Hufflepuff's reaction were a mix of the two. Some were looking at him with admiration.

"Nevertheless, learning new spells can help you defend yourself in real life situation. Not only defend, but vanquish. Your enemies can't hurt you if their incapacitated. We are at a period of war. The medias might try to paint this as a trivial matter but it is not. And no one is safe when two parties are in a conflict, even neutral people. You can get involved while you don't want to. A raid can happen anytime and you should be prepared to face it on your own sometimes. The most important thing is to learn how to stay alive by all the means posssible."

Teddy knew far too well this speach as he has grown up listening to it a lot. He knew Harry's philosophy, but he also knew that killing was wrong in his godfather's opinion. So not all the means.

"Killing is wrong though. I strongly discourage killing your enemies even if they want to kill you in return... yes Mister Black." Alphard's had rose as fast as Hermione's hand did almost all the time and it made him smirk a bit. This Black was Sirius' uncle. The one that had been great and muggle loving.

"But if there is no way to survive without killing the person?"

" There is always a way mister Black. If you're able to cast the killing curse, you'd be able to also cast a powerfull stunner."

It was at this moment Tom choose to raise his hand. After days of silent treatment.

"Yes Mister Riddle." It felt odd for both Harry and Tom to hear the family name.

"But a powerfull stunner could be deflected by a powerfull shield. The killing curse, if I'm well informed, can't get countered." He said well too aware of Harry's answer.

"There are some defense breaker curses, very effective and handy. If everything could be solved by a simple killing curse, why am I even here? I could all teach you how to cast it and be done for. You could cast it out of self defense and that wouldn't earn you a one way ticket to Azkaban. But that is not our purpose. I repeat, killing is wrong. And as a matter of facts, the killing curse can't be countered, but it can be dodged. That leads us to my third point which will be to train your physical reflexes."

The students looked at each others confused, they all thought it would be just a matter of spell knowledge.

"I understand your confusion on this matter, being raised as wizard made you forget the most mundane things. Magic makes you strong, but it also makes you weak somehow. Everything is relative. Magic is like emotions, sometimes they are weakness, but they could also be strength. And the hindrance magic would cause is laziness and lack of mechanical reactions."

Some Purebloods looked outraged. Hearing the proffesor say that magic could be weakness contradicted all their upbringing.

"without magic you all wouldn't stand a chance as you are right now."

Some felt insulted. It was at this moment abraxas Mafoy choose to raise his hand.

"Yes Mister Malfoy."

"How so proffesor? Our magic won't leave us anytime soon. It is a blessing and I can't imagine a situation where she could be useless. You're stating that without proving your point , with all my respect."

"I was awaiting that remark before making my point clear. Suppose you were disarmed. Do you know any wandless magic to defend yourself?" Abraxas was silent. " I suppose not. So you would just surrender to death? I told you at the begining that the point was for you all to survive, not to surrender at the smallest inconvenient, because yes I consider loosing your wand a small one compared to other scenarios. You could loose a leg and not be able to walk." The youngest shivered at the thought. The older ones frowned. " you could go blind and not know were to cast the spell. There are lot of possibilities, and magic won't be able to help in any of them. " He paused thinking maybe he went to far with the graphic description of those scenarios. "So for the purpose of getting yourself safe. You should learn how to fight mundane style."

"You mean like muggles?" a muggle born Gryffindor asked.

"Exactly, like I said before the killing curse can be dodged, you just need to train your body to dodge. I advice you, for those who aren't practicing any sport to do so just to get you in condition. Being physically fit is a good dueller's trait. A must for me. So go run early morning and do some exercises on the weekends."

Some people got excited and more hyped about learning how to be a good dueller. Others were annoyed they would have to exercise. The Gryffindors looked the most pleased and couldn't wait for the action to begin.

"I just adviced you to do it, you're not forced in any mean. if your objective is to just learn how to cast spells and the duelling stance and rules you're still welcome, but you won't reach your full potential like that and I'm afraid you won't go that far. I will organise a time table to notify when the two part of this club will be held and you will then choose whatever you want to attend, be it only the spell casting one, the physical condition one or both. I give you the entire liberty to choose."

He gave them the freedom but as he was talking, he made it sound like it was highly discouraged to only take one as they would be far behing those who took both lessons.

" Sorry I talked for so long, but I really needed to explain some things. No pressure you're still learning so you will do lot of mistakes, and mistakes are okay in this class, just don't make them in real life. Ah and I almost forgot. Some spells might be too advanced for your years, so sometimes I might only take the fifth years and above, the other years can attend and watch the older ones practice if they would like. "

Tom was annoyed at that last statement. And didn't hide it. Harry noticed it. He just came up with a good idea for the second part of this lesson. He was reserving it for questio but he could do that later.

"So you guys would like to have a demonstration I suppose. For that purpose I will call my best students here to show you how a duel looks like."

Immediately Tom and Teddy knew their teacher was talking about them. They proudly smiled for having this amazing man as their guardian. They couldn't have gotten better.

"Mister Le Fay and Riddle, could you join me here?"

They stood up, Tom addjusting his clothes and stance to look as flawless as always. Harry often made them face each others, it wasn't new, and they always tried to prove themselves in front of him. But this time it was kind of different. They would have to duel in front of the school.

"First position." As he said that each one of them raised his wand in front of his face and stood straight . They were standing at opposite sides of the duelling surface.

"Now bow ." They did as told.

Harry jumped out of the ring. " you shall start."

As he said that, Teddy shouted. "Expelliarmus."

Tom dodged the spell With ease thinking it was 'cute' and smirking. He wouldn't waste a shield on that.

Just after he dodged he saw a spell come right into him, this one he didn't hear. Thankfully his reflexes allowed him to cast a shield in time "Protego.". The tricky werewolf had shouted the first spell as a diversion and casted the second one discretely.

Now he would get serious. "Confringo." He shouted.

And it went on, the two forgot their surrounding having too much fun. They were so even in power. And that annoyed Tom a bit but also he quite liked that fact. Having a worthy rival made him progress and further his knowledge everytime.

"That will be enough boys." The whole room was silent mouth opened, very impressed by what the two third years performance. They suddenly started clapping loudly.

"Good job I'm proud of you both." harry said quietly to them. "This, everyone, might seem simple to master, they both casted simple spells that most of you probably know. But who could tell me where they thought the difficulty lays?"

"Dodging I imagine. They could have used protego so many time, why did they choose to dodge instead, it could be much more easier with magic."

"Exact. Dodging. As important, and even much more important than any shielding spell. Why did they choose it sometimes over magic? Because first, when you don't know the intensity of a strong spell, you won't be able to predict if the shield will break or not. So the less risky alternative is to dodge simply. That is not the only reason. Magic, like your body can get drained and would make you exhausted. So you better limit your use of magic whenever you can so you can save it for more serious taskes."

He saw people take notes even though he didn't ask too, that made him kind of pleased. This feeling reminded him on back when he was teaching his friends in the room of requirement.

"Also, you should be aware that the power of the spell is sometimes ruled by it being verbal or not. Shouting a spell doesn't make it more powerfull, but it gives the enemy the fake impression it would be. None verbal spells are less intense, but also more tricky, they give the effect of surprise which is an important factor to take into consideration in a duel. Dueling isn't only about strength. It is ruse and cunning. It is art. It's also all mind games. " He took a moment to cast a silent tempus. " Time goes fast when you're having fun. I guess that will be all for today. See you all next Thursday. I will communicate the time table to your head of houses."

Just as Tom stood up to leave like everyone, he saw Harry come to him.

"I need to talk to you Tom. Now."

ALRIGHT took me more time than the previous chapter but I enjoyed typing this one. Hehehe

What did you think? Did you find Harry in character? Sure he was less self confident back at school but after years he got used to the attention and stuff. He always enjoyed DADA and I wrote this from Harry's point of you hoping you would have as much fun as him.

Now the all awaited talk will be in the next chapter. I still didn't write a thing though tehe. Review I need your opinion, sometimes they make me change my mind on where the stories going for the better.
