Hy guys I'm still alive here! I'm really sorry I haven't updated in months, I've had major writer's block and started getting into new fandoms. I'm neck deep in Naruto right now xD

Anyway I am writing a lot for other fandoms but I will still update my ATLA stories. I'm starting college soon so I'm trying to finish as much as possible now. Once August 25th rolls around don't expect updates too quickly.

Thanks for your patience guys.

Toph kept an uptight and commanding demeanor as she entered the council meeting room. Her armor was newly polished and organized after the harsh battle with the Triads during their staged meet up. She'd made her secretary polish it and make her look presentable. Ordinarily she didn't care about her appearance, considering she was blind.

But nonetheless, she knew she needed to look the part of capable and respectful police chief. Especially in front of this council full of mostly pompous asses who only care about themselves. Honestly, she would never know how Sokka could stand being around these idiots every day.

She kept a stoic face as she introduced the information she'd gathered from Yongo, the Triad she and her squad had just apprehended the day before.

"According to Yongo, the recent explosions in the plaza and assaults on various important politics figures in the city have been to intimidate the council and my squad, as well as to show the power of the new leader of the Triad," she explained to the men in the room. "The man I have in custody is too low on the chain of command to know the leader's name or location. He is in charge of small extortion business and training new Triads such as the one we caught last week. But he did spill some vital information that will aid us in the investigation."

"Well what is it?" Grumbled an old councilman who was never too fond of Toph. Most of the stuck up men on the council opposed to her work, especially considering since she was dating their chairman. "You've had plenty of our money to fund your operations and yet you still don't have a name?"

Aang glared at the old man who shut up immediately and looked away a bit nervously. Avatar Aang was ordinarily a cheerful and kind man who rarely lets anything bother him.

But when he was angry or annoyed, his glare could rival Sokka's.

The airbender motioned to the chief to continue with a wave of his hand.

Sensing the movement, Toph sent him a small grin of appreciation before continuing. "These operations take a lot of time and effort on our part, gentlemen. But we were told of a few locations of extortion in the slumps," she paused as she heard Sokka stand and move to the city map, no doubt circling locations with a pen from the list her second in command had drafted up for them. "And we were informed of a man higher up the chain who can help us catch our big fish. He wouldn't give a name, it was rather an alias. A guy they call Blood Dragon. He is the one who organized all of these assaults and takes orders directly from the top."

They all remained quiet for a moment. There was relief of finally coming up with some results, yet anxiety and tension concerning what they may face further down the line. Yakone's reign of terror was bad enough, not to mention the still unpleasant memory of all those present in the room of being blood bent by the bastard.

"So where do we go from here?" Zuko finally broke the awkward silence. "You've obtained a name, or an alias, and very essential information to help us predict future attacks if we are able to reach this man. Where do we find him?"

Everyone nodded at the Fire Lord's questions and turned their faces to the police chief for the anticipated answers.

She blew out an air of irritation for always being put on the spot and moved her bangs out of her eyes with her hand.

"That is where the problem lays, Fire Lord." She hated using formal titles with her friends, but in public and especially around these stuck up bastards, they had appearances to keep up.

She even had to call her lover "Councilman Sokka" or "Chairman," as he had to call her Chief. Which he actually did at home anyway whenever she dominated him in bed. The bender inwardly smirked at the thought.

"Yongo spoke so much because I intimidated him. However he's no idiot. He knows how these games are played. He won't give me the Blood Dragon's location of operation until we agree to give him a plea bargain."

Sokka and Zuko had created the system of making deals with felons in reducing their sentences in exchange for vital information that could aid them in bringing down even more powerful crime lords. Many of the city leaders were against this, wanting to stick to the old and harsh punishments of Ba Sing Sei law. But after this proved to be very useful, they had to bite their tongue and pass it as law. But that did not mean they did not attempt to oppose it at every turn.

"Absolutely not," sneered the same old man, now bolder and ignoring the avatar's icy glare. "You do not know if he will even tell you the correct location. I object."

A few other older councilmen voiced their agreement. The younger men were neutral on the subject.

Sokka sighed. These older politicians had sticks too far up their asses. They still lived in the war days. Agni, he was getting a headache.

"Gentlemen," he addressed them. All eyes immediately went to him. While many of the older men disliked Toph's work for whatever reason, they did respect Sokka's brilliant plans and tactics. "You forget a vital fact. Chief Beifong can sense a person's heartbeat. She can tell if someone is lying, she's been able to do this since she was a child. Let us do this plea. Is it not worth finally destroying this criminal organization once and for all?"

They all realized the truth in his words and reluctantly nodded.

Sokka smiled. "Excellent. Well done Chief, we thank you and your task force for an excellently done investigation. You have the council's approval to bargain a plea with this man in exchange for the location of operations of this so called Blood Dragon and any other useful information. Be sure to not deduct more than four years off his sentence. We can't be too lenient, either."

Beifong nodded, being slightly turned on by his cool and commanding councilman tone. "Thank you, Chairman. My lieutenant and I will get right on that."

Sensing the slight longing and sexual tension between his friends, Aang stood up to save them from any embarrassment. "We conclude this meeting. Everyone be safe and we hope to hear more of your progress next week, Chief Beifong. Thank you."

Everyone stood and made their way to exit the room, heading out just in time for lunch.

Zuko chuckled once only the four war heroes remained in the meeting room. "And you say Mai and I can't keep our hands off each other," he said to the now flustered councilman who realized their behavior. "That whole conversation about the plea just now? The way you looked at her? And the smile Tooh gave you? That just screamed sexual tension."

The couple blushed.

Aang stifled his laughter. "Good job, Toph. Hopefully this will carry us a step closer to taking down the organization. I'm sorry some of those councilmen are so hostile towards you, but they're very old fashioned they don't like a woman being in charge of the police force."

Toph scoffed. "Doesn't matter Twinlkle Toes. I can take those geezers on any time. Now come on, Snoozles, let's go eat. I finally have a lunch break to myself."

The avatar grabbed his glider on his way out the door. "I'm heading home to have lunch with Katara. Do you guys want to join? She's making stewed sea prunes."

The three visibly shuddered.

"Um, no thanks I have to go back to the embassy-I-I'm supposed to have lunch with a fire noble to discuss some things from home. Send Katara my love. Later!" The firebender raced out of the room, calling for his imperial guards to get him back to the embassy.

The avatar turned to the remaining two. He smiled. "How about it guys?"

The pleading look in his eyes and strain in his voice were evident. He didn't want to suffer through that meal alone. He also didn't have the heart to tell his wife her sea prunes tasted awful and left him sick to his stomach. None of them did.

Toph laughed. "Sorry Twinkle Toes, you're on your own. You married her so you suffer her prunes on your own. Come on Snoozles let's go eat at home, we have time. I think there are some left over noodles."

She grabbed her lover's arm and hauled him towards the exit.

Sokka shrugged in his brother-in-law's direction. "Sorry buddy. I suffered through it when we were kids. You can do it."

Aang sighed and prepared to leave and grimaced at the thought of the steaming bowl Katara no doubt already had ready for him at home.

He already knew he'd be spending all afternoon in the bathroom.

The councilman and police chief entered their apartment, breathlessly laughing about the men of the council and Toph's imitation of the old man who had first objected to the plea bargain.

"He has a stick so far up his ass, I swear to Agni!" The bender chuckled, wiping a tear from her eye.

Sokka laughed and affectionately kissed her temple. "Well he needs to remove it. You've done an incredible job, Toph."

Admiration and love sparkled in his sapphire eyes for this woman. How he wished she could see it.

Taking into account the affection in his voice, Toph grinned. "Just doing my job, Captain Boomerang."

He kissed her nose and smiled when he noticed her cheeks flush. Sokka enjoyed how he could still overwhelm her with his gestures of affection, even after all these years.

He rummaged through the fridge and found a package of noodles. "Good news is there are some noodles, bad news no left overs, I'll have to cook them. How long do you have for lunch? I don't have to be back for trial duty until two o'clock," he called over his shoulder.

Toph sat at the table. "Take your time, Housewife. I'm free until two, too," she grinned.

He looked at her and cocked an eye brow. "Don't you mean as well?"

"Nope."

He chuckled and shook his head at her words. He took out a pan and flared the oven to life as he boiled the water. After a few moments, he tossed in the noodles and some condiments for extra flavor.

As the swordsman quietly stirred the noodles, Toph had ideas forming in her head.

Sparky was right about sexual tension, she thought smugly as she heard him sizzle and stir their meal. All this stress is killing me.

The quiet earthbender voiced her thoughts. "How long does it take for the noodles to cook?"

Sokka looked at the back of the package, reading the instructions. "Hm, says here about ten minutes. Why?"

She smirked wickedly at his back. "No reason."

Sokka shrugged in reply, focused on his task.

A few moments later, he heard the sound of a chair sliding across the floor and vaguely heard footsteps coming closer and closer to him.

Small yet powerful arms wrapped themselves around his torso, and she purposely pushed her chest against his back.

Sokka grinned and kissed her arm as he continued to stir the noodles.

Not wasting a moment, Toph turned turned his face to her, smirking lightly when she stood on the tip of her toes and smashed their lips together, wounding her arms around his neck tightly.

Sokka was caught off guard but put the spoon down on the counter before he looped his strong limbs around her waist and kissed her back with just as much passion.

Within minutes, he had her up on the counter, and their hands wandered all over each other.

She kissed him breathlessly, feeling the head radiate through his clothes and her armor. Agni she needed this. Needed him.

His love and passion for her is what gets her through her toughest and most tension filled days.

She purposely kissed him harder and slightly grinded her hips against his, earning a gasp against her lips.

Her hand trailed down his torso and cupped his cloth covered manhood, massaging him.

Sokka groaned. "Toph," he said between their heated kisses. "We can't. The food-"

She pulled back and bended her metal armor off, letting it fall to the ground with a loud thud. She was left only in her underneath uniform top and pants.

Toph smirked as she messaged him harder, feeling him shudder in pleasure. He was already so hard.

So it appeared she wasn't the only one who sensed their aching longing for each other in the meeting earlier.

She nibbled on her lover's ear. "You want this just as much as I do. The food takes ten minutes. Plenty of time," she purred seductively as she undid the buckle on his pants.

Sokka groaned, feeling his body heat up. Agni this woman would be the death of him. "T-Toph wait-"

Finally giving in, Sokka turned the heat down slightly on the oven so their meal wouldn't get burned and kissed her feverishly, pawing at her clothes.

The metalbender smirked.

"Let's have a quickie… right here and now," she murmured against his lips, grinning when she pulled down his pants and massaged him hard through his boxers.

The politician kissed her harder in response, and pulled down her sweat pants. He then reached under her to slip off her undies and tore them off her boot. He groaned when he felt how wet she already was.

As she succeeded in pulling down his underwear to his ankles, she crushed their lips together and wrapped herself tightly around him, signaling for him not to hold back.

Obliging her, Sokka thrusted up into her hot folds, moaning as her wet walls clamped down on his pulsating shaft.

His lover moaned in reply and ordered him to go hard and fast.

The councilman took her right then and there, as she wanted.

He rocked against her hard, fast, and expertly, one hand gripping her ass tightly, while the other one cupped her face as he kissed her fervently.

Moans, grunts and groans of pleasure echoed in the kitchen as did the sound of skin slapping skin from the ferocity of their love making.

His hot length filled her completely and deliciously, sending Toph into a world of pleasure as she murmured his name over and over.

Sokka growled and increased his speed to get her to that moment of utter bliss that they ever only found with each other.

If Sokka was honest with himself, he'd never had such passionate sex with any other woman but Toph. Not with any of those rebound women he had after the divorce. Not even with Suki in all the years they were together.

Guilt immediately plagued his mind. He was yet again making love to this woman and had yet to tell her the truth.

Her moaning brought him back to reality. Sokka pushed guilt to the farthest corner of his mind, opting to focus on the here and now and helping Toph reach the sweet release she so craved. He pumped harder into her, moaning her name as he hit her spot that sent her screaming in passion.

Sokka captured her lips in his, swallowing her scream, remembering they had neighbors home at this hour who also came home for lunch.

It wasn't long, with his pace and the force of his movements, until they felt themselves close to their peak.

Toph broke the kiss to bury her face in the crook of his neck, panting, moaning, gasping, while the tribesman bit down on her neck and pulled her tighter against him, murmuring her name like a mantra as he took them both to their release.

They exploded together, holding each other tightly while moaning each other's name, losing themselves completely in the waves of euphoria crashing into them.

They breathed and panted for a moment.

He took her down from the counter when their peak died down, smiling lightly as she pulled up his pants for him, kissing him lightly on the lips.

She pulled up her clothes on after, fixing herself before she hugged his side, grinning as he put his arm around her and pecked the top of her head.

"Now that's what I'm talking about," Toph cheered. "And it didn't take long. Is the food ready? That round left me starving."

Sokka laughed. "Yeah I'll serve it now, go sit down."

They ate contently for a few minutes.

Sokka slurped some noodles on his chop sticks before voicing his thoughts to the woman.

"Toph? I had a talk with Lin last night. I think she feels like we're neglecting her."

The woman chewed slowly before asking him to elaborate.

Sokka told Toph about her quiet behavior at dinner, her worry for her mother, how the girl didn't want to go to the island every night and his promise to spend more time with her.

Toph's expression was one of guilt. While she intended to give Lin the freedom to live her own life, she did miss spending time with her badgermole.

She drank from her beverage. "So you told her we'd take end to a probending match?"

Sokka nodded as he finished off his noodles. "We need some family time, no cases, no politics, no triads. The Earth Bolders are going against the Fire Bandits next Saturday. Why don't we both take the day off, we can go out to dinner and then go to the match?"

Toph nodded. "I like it. Lin needs time to take her mind off of all of this and honestly, so do we."

She reached across the table and set her hand on his.

The councilman stiffened. Unbeknownst to Toph, she'd just performed the same gesture Suki had not even twenty four hour ago.

Am internal battle raged in his heart. On one hand, that was something special and intimate only Suki used to do whenever he was upset. On the other this was Toph. The woman he loved now. If anyone shouldn't be doing this gesture it was Suki yesterday. She knew what it used to mean to him.

Toph felt his heart beat speed up and his form stiffen. Her eyes narrowed im suspicion.

But after he noticed her expression Sokka quickly interlaced their fingers and gave her hand a squeeze.

"We'll be fine, we just have to make more time for ourselves," he said quickly before grabbing their plates and setting them in the sink.

Toph pursed her lips.

She wouldn't corner him now, he'd only plead for her to give him more time to settle things to be able to to tell her.

However, the bender was determined to find out what was going on.

Later that afternoon on the other side of the city, Lin Beifong sat bored and absolutely irritated in her class. The girl had her head resting in the comfort of her folded arms, listening to her teacher drone on and on about the importance of a father's role and the different types of traditions that were used in the four nations for honoring the head of the household.

Father's Day was only a few weeks away, and so their teacher thought it was a good idea to start on the family unit and history for each of the four nations.

"Lastly, we'd love to know what the Air Nomads did to honor their fathers on that day." The teacher, Miss Lu Ming, was a short, slender Earth Kingdom woman. She had wavy, sandy hair, striking green eyes, pale skin, and round glasses adorning her pretty face. She was very hard on her students, but was known for her kindness as well. She smiled kindly at the junior airbender who was seated next to Lin in the third row.

"Tenzin, would you like to enlighten us? You are learning from the best, after all," her eyes sparkled as she had a dreamy look on her features.

Lin sighed inwardly. Their teacher was also a huge Avatar Aang fangirl. So it figured that the avatar's prodigy airbender son would be her favorite student.

The boy blushed as the attention of the entire class was focused on him. He looked to Lin for help. But he only saw her grin at him and her eyes full of mirth.

He narrowed his gray irises at her before standing from his seat, straightening his orange and yellow robes, and speaking directly to the class.

"Thank you, Miss Lu Ming. Well in the era of my father, there was no true family unit. As we know, the Air Nomads lived in four executive temples, and usually for children who would be airbenders, were taken at birth and given to a guardian. Monk Gyatso, whom I am named for, was my father's guardian and mentor. My father never knew his biological parents, but Monk Gyatso cared for him like a father and taught him everything he knows about our culture. On Father's Day, the young boys and girls who had male guardians would honor them with making them fruit tart pies and performing some new type of airbending dance or game for their entertainment. Others would also train hard and demonstrate their bending skills, as a show of gratitude to their mentors for what they learned under the mentor's tutuelage. As for my father, my siblings and I will be doing something a bit differently. But I still plan to honor him with the demonstration of what he's taught me thus far."

The boy sat down and the class stayed silent at the seriousness and intellect of the speech that has come out of the normally stoic and serious twelve year old.

The teacher blinked before adjusting her glasses. "Yes, thank you Tenzin, that was very, uh, informative. And I'm sure Avatar Aang is very proud of your knowledge. Now, I was planning a lecture on the development of the airship next," she ignored the loud groans coming from some of her students. "But since it is Father's Day soon and we already discussed the role for each nation and its customs, I thought it would be more appropriate discussing why you are grateful for having a father in your lives. I will pass out paper, and please get with a partner to discuss. It will be a fun little activity after weeks of serious discussion and exams."

Everyone shifted their desks.

Naturally, Tenzin moved over to sit with Lin. He noticed her crestfallen eyes and the way she slumped her shoulders. Aang's youngest son furrowed his eye brows in confusion. Lin was usually teasing him and getting the two of them into trouble. She hadn't made a snarky comment about his speech or about being a teacher's pet.

He gently nudged her. "Lin, what's wrong?"

Toph's daughter avoided his gaze. "Nothing, Airhead. Let's just get this over with," she quietly sighed as she received the paper from their teacher with a feigned smile.

The airbender pushed the matter. "You're not acting like yourself. Come on you can trust me. What's the matter?"

The young Beifong truly was touched by Tenzin's concern. She knew she could trust him with anything; they were best friends. She had a bond with him unlike any other she had. Her bond with Tenzin always seemed deeper than the ones she shared with his siblings or the fire princess.

But this was a very personal matter to her.

Tenzin finally let it slide when she was silent and read the sheet of questions to complete that their teacher had handed out.

"Okay, so, we're supposed to ask questions about our dads."

"You start." She read the question. "What is the thing you most admire about your father?"

"How dedicated he is to us," the airbender answered instantly. "He's always there for Bumi, Kya, Mom and I no matter how busy he is with his avatar duties. He's loving and accepting, too. He's patient with me whenever I can't get a move right."

Lin nodded. It was no secret to anyone that Tenzin adored his avatar father. And Aang was truly a marvelous father. The world viewed him as a man who favored his youngest due to his bending abilities, but Lin knew firsthand that was far from the truth. The world was desperate for airbenders, so they twist things as they wish. Aang did have a special connection with Tenzin, that was true, but he doted on Bumi and Kya just as much. Those cloest to the avatar's family knew that.

"And you?" Tenzin questioned.

"Well Sokka-"

Before she could finish, a harsh laugh caught the attention of the War Heroes' offspring. They turned to see Judi the popular, snobby girl of their grade, listening in on their conversation with a smirk on her face. Her two close friends and minions were laughing as well. The entire class turned their attention to the back of the class.

Lin hardened her gaze at the girl. Judi had always enjoyed picking on Lin for various things; her mother's blindness, the absence of her biological father, the fact that her stepfather wasn't even married to her mother. She had a burning hatred for the young earthbender, as she did for her.

"Councilman Sokka isn't Lin's dad," the annoying girl spoke loudly. "Her mom just got lucky to catch him and got him to stay and play Daddy to Linny here. But no one has ever even seen Lin's dad! Where is he Lin, is he somewhere off in the Earth Kingdom because he couldn't stand you and your dumb blind cop mom? That's what I've heard!" She smirked at the evident rage burning in Lin's jade eyes. "Or was he just some guy that your mom-"

Something inside the girl finally snapped. She was seething. She stomped her foot on the ground and bended the ground up, cutting off her rival's insults. The popular girl was moved forward to face Lin's seething eyes. Sh gulped. She'd never seen Lin this angry.

"Don't," Lin warned, her voice neutral and full of venom. "Ever, talk trash about my mom or me again! She is the best mom ever, and that man who left us is not my father!" She punched the girl square in the face, sending her to topple over, being caught by her friends. Her face was bruised and she was humiliated.

"And if you need to know, he did leave!" she yelled with tears she fought against. "But i don't care. I have a dad. My dad is Sokka. He loves me and my mom. He's always there for us and he helps me with anything. That's what a dad is!"

She felt Tenzin's comforting hand on her back.

The teacher reprimanded Lin for her reckless behavior, yet was gentle with her. She knew the sensitive topic of her father. The other girl had riled her up.

The teacher sent the other girl to the nurse and told Lin she'd get detention for two hours after school tomorrow and she'd call her parents.

She vaguely heard the teacher's stern yet gentle words, the class's stares and whispers, and her rival's hate filled stare going out the door.

Lin fought her tears and found solace in her best friend's comforting arms. Tenzin remainded quiet, acting as her anchor.

Sokka discretely picked up the phone in his office once he'd returned to City Hall after trial duty.

I know that look, he thought with worry, thinking back on lunch with Toph. She's already suspecting something. I promised her I'd tell her by the end of the week. Agni I am a coward.

Sokka shut his door and dialed the hotel number.

As he waited for an answer, he nervously drummed his fingers on his wooden desk.

He always dreads Hakoda will be the one to answer. Agni he wasn't ready to meet the boy like this.

Finally, relief flooded his being when Suki's voice greeted his ear.

"Suki? It's Sokka. You told me to call you this week to, you know," he said awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. To meet my son? That just sounded awkward and sad.

Noticing the hesitation in his voice, the Kyoshi warrior became worried. "Are you regretting this?"

"What? No!" Her ex-husband immediately answered. He shifted the phone to his other hand and sighed. "I just, this is hard for me."

"I know. But we can do this. So when do you want us to meet with you?"

Sokka bit his lip nervously, remembering the call he'd gotten from Lin's school about her fight with a girl in her class about an insensitive comment about her mother and father. "I don't know. When can you?"

The other line was silent for a moment.

Suki worried. He sounded nervous. What happened? Did he tell Toph about her coming here with Hakoda?

Finally she replied. "Saturday afternoon? Around 4 at the park where we met up last time?"

Sokka mentally ran through his schedule for the week.

"Should he fine. I only have morning trial duty. I'll see you and-and-"

The woman sighed and guilt crept up her spine. His nervousness and confusion were all her fault. "Our son?"

"Y-yeah," he finished uncomfortslvt. "See you then."

"Wait!"

Before hanging up, the puzzled councilman brought the phone back to his ear. "Yes?"

"Thank you. You don't know how much this will mean to him," Suki said sincerely, tears filling her eyes.

The tribesman gulped but smiled nonetheless before replying, affection and honesty clear as day in his voice. "It's the least I can do. He is my son, after all."

Tears spilled from her eyes. But not of sadness or guilt. These were of joy and relief.

Suki now realized that Yue had been right. Sokka would never turn her and Hakoda away. He was still the man she had once loved.

They bid their goodbyes before hanging up.

Sokka sat back in his chair and massaged his temple to try and ease his head ache and stress.

Talk to Lin about punching that girl, telling Toph the truth about Suki coming back, and meeting my long lost son.

Won't this be a fun week? He thought sarcastically.

Suki turned to see her son entering their hotel room just as she was hanging up.

Hakoda was just coming back from the training centre down the street, which ironically, was owned by his father.

The teen was still sweaty after having spent hours practicing with his katana.

"Hey sweetheart," she greeted with a warm smile. "How'd training go?"

The boy ran a towel over his sweaty face. "It was good, Mom. They have great classes there. And there isn't much else to do here anyway."

She sent him an apologetic look. "We'll start doing more fun things here soon. Republic City has a lot to offer. I just had to take care of a few things first."

Hakoda noticed the wetness of tears in her violet eyes all too well.

"Mom. What happened?" He questioned as his mother crossed the room with tears in her eyes, hugging him tightly.

Suki wiped her eyes.

"I'm fine, Hakoda. But I have something to tell you."

She pulled back and chuckled at the boy's puzzled expression. The same one Sokka had yesterday when they met up.

He looked so much like his father it made her heart ache and melt at the same time.

"What is it?"

She smiled broader as she looked him in the eye.

"I spoke to him. You're finally going to meet your father."
