Mia's POV

I sighed as I stood outside the lovely hotel provided for the Junior Cup. It was a white marble building that had the Cup logo on it, and there were the sectioned off rooms. I could see mine from here, it was the one with the blue balcony.

Turning around, I tapped my foot impatiently as I waited for Flint to show up. He was always late, as usual. I glanced down at my watch. 5:02 it read. I glanced up, still no sign of Flint. I glanced at my watch again. 5:03. No Flint. I sighed.

Suddenly, my vision was obscured by a pair of hands in front of my face. "Guess who?" they asked. I spun around. Facing me was a guy slightly taller than myself, with flaming red afro hair. He wore a tight yellow shirt with baggy gray pants with a red belt and flip-flops (basically Flint's platinum look). Ew. I hate flip-flops and baggy pants.

"Evening beautiful, do you reckon where I can find my battling partner? She's kinda ditsy, so it should be obvious," he asked me, laughter in his eyes.

I glared at him. "Well mister, you're battling partner would like to tell you that she is NOT ditsy, she is just simply special," I finished smirking at him.

"Aw Mia, do you really have to be so blunt?" Flint feigned hurt and placed his hand over his heart.

"I have to be blunt otherwise your brain couldn't understand what I'm saying," I shot back.

Flint sighed. "As sharp as ever Mia," he told me. I smiled. Flint was my best friend and the person I wanted to kill everyday. That's just how our relationship goes.

"Come on, I want to battle. Gallade wants to punish Infernape."

"Bring it on."

Trip's POV

I walked out of the hotel and started for the training grounds. I wanted practice so I could beat Mia in the tournament. I needed all the practice I could get. Suddenly, loud voices caught my eye. As I glanced over towards the entrance to the hotel, Mia and another guy were having an argument.

I glared daggers at his back. Who does he think he is? Apparently he thought he was someone high and mighty because he and Mia walked off together, heading towards the training grounds. I decided to make my presence known and make sure he didn't try anything.

"Princess!" I called out.

Mia and the guy both turned around. Once she saw it was me, her face turned red and she started blushing. The guy watched both of us, amusement written all over his face. He nudged Mia and whispered something in her ear that made her blush even more and throw furtive glances towards me.

I swaggered towards them. "Princess, who's your friend?" I asked her, my voice friendly but my eyes said another story.

Mia looked at me and smiled. "Oh, Trip, let me introduce you to my friend Flint. Flint, this is Trip, my uh, friend," she stuttered out.

Flint smiled knowingly. "Is this relationship supposed to be secret? Should I tell her parents?"

Mia screamed. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Flint doubled over laughing. "So I guess there is something going on am I right?"

Mia looked as if she was waiting for the ground to open and swallow her up. She was blushing profusely, and wouldn't catch my eye.

I smirked. Let's have a bit of fun shall we? "Mia dear, have you not told Flint about last night?"

Mia's face turned red. Flint's eyes darted between us, trying to figure what that meant. Then he reached out an arm and grabbed Mia, who was looking at me murderously.

"I was just joking, I'm sure Mia hates me as much as I hate her," I told both of them.

"Yes...yes," Mia stammered out. She looked as if she was going to die right there and then.

I smirked. "So where are you guys heading off to?"

"Flint and I were planning to have a practice match on the training grounds. Do you want to come watch?" Mia directed the invitation at me.

"Nah, Princess, I have better things to do than do watch you lose."

"Wait guys," Flint cut in. "How about if the two of you battle instead? Let's get this sexual tension out now shall we?"

Mia smiled. "Bring it on."

I'm sorry guys, I'm skipping over the fight scene since I'm on a time crunch right now. Let's just say that Trip used Serperior and Mia used Gallade. Their pokemon fell in love and stuff. Now is after the battle.

Trip's POV

I smiled. Mia sure could put up a good fight. I glanced over at her as we were sitting at the edge of the overlook, the Undella Town below us. She was clearly exhausted from our battle earlier, I had really pushed her limits.

"Hey Trip," she asked me.

"What?"

"Thanks, I finally felt I was home again,"

I looked over at her. Beads of sweat had formed at her hairline and her hoodie was dotted with perspiration. Her normally tidy hair was a mess, and her cheeks were flushed. But she looked at me with eyes full of determination.

I smiled and turned away. "No problem princess,"

Mia sighed. "What's with the princess nickname?" she asked me as she absentmindedly plucked a few blades of grass from the ground.

"It's because princesses on the outside are all stuck-up, but then on the inside they're just as vulnerable as anybody else,." I admitted truthfully. There was silence for a while, before Mia finally spoke.

"I see, so you're calling me soft?" She asked, picking up the blades of grass and tearing them to pieces.

"No, I'm not calling you anything, you're perfect the way you are," I winked at her. She blushed.

We sat in silence for a long time, both watching the sunset. It cast soft rays over Mia's skin, and it looked like she was truly a princess. I never knew someone could have affected me in such a way. I'm Trip, the guy who all the guys want to be. But when it came to girls, all I knew was how to make them mad.

"Hey Trip," Mia asked, stifling a yawn.

"Yes Princess?" I asked her, turning my body so it faced her.

She smiled. "I'm going to miss you after the Junior Cup ends. Do you have any idea where you'll go next?"

I felt my heart start beating faster. She said she would miss me. She would miss me. Miss me. Me. I answered as truthfully as I could. "I think I'm going to head to Kalos, start a new journey there, catch cool pokemon and what not. What about you?"

Mia sighed. "I honestly don't know. I really want to challenge the Unova League…." her voice trailed off as she muttered something under her breath.

I smirked. "Don't keep secrets from me princess, come on tell me what you were going to say.

Mia blushed. "I uh, was going to say, uh that, Iwouldmissyoualot" she jumbled out, her face heating up.

"What was that? I couldn't hear you clearly," I lied, fully knowing what she had said.

"I would miss you a lot if we went our separate ways."

My heart stopped. I guess she felt the same way I did for her. I scooted closer to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. She stiffened at first, but then relaxed and leaned against my arm.

"This is messed up."

"I know."

"I wonder what my parents would say."

"Of course they would approve of me, who doesn't? Ow!"

I gingerly rubbed the part of my stomach that was the target of Mia's punch. She frowned at me, but her eyes were dancing with amusement. "Use your charms," she said sarcastically.

I smirked. "I already did."

A/N: So what did you guys think of that? Review and tell me please!
