Blake and Sun decided to take a nap for a good portion of the morning, but Blake didn't want to be near Sun unless he showered first. She didn't notice it until after Yang left, but he had a strong scent of sweat. So he hit the showers and quickly returned before they took a nap.

He woke up before she did, just before the sun rose to its peak in the sky at noon. He smiled to himself, thinking how lucky he was to be with such a beautiful and unique girl.

He froze, remembering what happened a few hours before. They had almost given themselves to each other, and they would have if it weren't for Ruby. And they wanted to do it too. She didn't stop him, he didn't stop her.

Whoa . . . We really would have done it. . . .

Sun slowly moved away from Blake, snaking his arms out from holding her and sat on the edge of the bed to think. He wasn't as careful as he thought, waking Blake up. She rolled over to look at him, "something on your mind?" She asked suddenly, making him jump.

"Oh! I didn't mean to wake you. Sorry, babe." He smiled when she wrapped her arms around his neck from behind, hugging him. "Something on your mind, babe?"

"No, not really. But you normally wouldn't get up until I woke up. And when you do that, you have something on your mind." She pointed out. He was surprised, well, he shouldn't be by now. But he was surprised that she knew his mannerisms already.

"Alright, you got me." He chuckled while she kissed the back of his neck.

"So, what's on your mind?"

He had two things on his mind. One of them was Yang's concern for Blake. The other . . .

He shook his head, turning around to meet Blake's gaze. "Yang told me that she was concerned about you. You've been overworking yourself when you didn't need to and you haven't been getting enough sleep."

Did he know? "Well, I do have a lot of homework, Sun. . . ."

"If that was the case, why are your friends not as exhausted as you are?"

" . . . I don't know, I was just tired, that's all."

"Blake," he looked into her eyes making her uncomfortable. Like her, he knew her mannerisms as well. Whenever she had something to hide, she would look away and her cat ears would fall down like how a sad puppy's ears would. "What's going on, babe? You're not only making me worry, but Yang as well. And she's the sharpest girl around."

" . . . " She buried her face in his chest, saying something incomprehensible.

"What?"

She pulled back, a scowl painting her expression and hints of tears on the corners of her eyes. "I'm being blackmailed, you idiot! Cardin knows we're dating!" She growled in frustration.

Time seemed to have stopped for a moment as Sun tried to process that in his mind. After a long time of thinking and cooling down, because he was pissed, he held her shoulders gently, "calm down, Blake. Tell me-"

"How can you be so calm?! You and I both could lose our spots in our academies if-"

"Blake," he interrupted her before she went on a worried rant. "Slow down, alright? Take a deep breath and let it all out."

She really didn't like it when he told her to do this, but her civilized side won and took over and she did as he said, feeling all of the anger and frustration just leave her body with that one exhale.

"Good," he smiled slightly before returning to his serious expression. "Tell me everything."

She did. Telling him how it all started and beating herself up over the fact that she was so careless, about where she was when she made the call.

"Hey, hey." He stopped her again, "nobody is perfect, okay? You made a mistake and . . . " Yeah, he didn't want to continue that statement with where it was going to go. He shook his head, "the point is: we gotta figure out how to silence him without having you to suffer anymore."

Despite his outgoing and cocky nature, Sun really surprised Blake with how calm and rational he could be. She expected him to go berserk and go hunt down Cardin with the intent to pummel the life out of him.

"Now, is there anything we can use against him?" He asked.

"No, I tried to think of some, but he doesn't have anything that would get him into trouble. . . . " Blake sighed in despair.

"Hey, Cardin is a bully right? There's gotta be something we can use to blackmail him. Think-"

The idea came to her head instantly the moment he said bully, "I got it!" She said with renewed hope. "Do you know who Velvet Scarlatina is?" She asked, to which he shook his head. "She's a friend of ours, and a Faunus with bunny ears."

"Oh, her." He remembered seeing her in town on one of his dates with Blake. She was with a tall guy with a huge sword. "What about her?"

"She was a victim of Cardin's bullying last semester. We can use that against him."

"But, wouldn't anyone who's been bullied by Cardin have condemned him by now then?"

"They wouldn't turn him in, for fear of him retaliating. But Velvet has the safety to do it."

"She's safe to rat him out? How? And if she's safe, why didn't she do it yet?"

"Velvet's too nice to do that to Cardin, despite what he did to her." She rolled her eyes, but then a devious smirk formed on her expression. Now that was a first for Sun. "Velvet's team leader, Coco. She's one of the most toughest, revered, and influential girls here at Beacon. If she found out Cardin messed with Velvet, he's in a whole lot of trouble."

A grin formed on Sun's expression. "Then let's go blackmail him-"

"No, I'm going to go do it. We can't risk you being caught, so you stay here." She got up from the bed and ran into the closet to change into her normal outdoor clothes. She kissed him lovingly before heading for the door. "Don't get caught, idiot." She smirked.

Another smirk. "I promise, babe." He chuckled. "Go get him." He waved before she closed the door behind her. Now that he was alone he laid back on her bed, lost in thought.

He thought about his life and what led up to his first date with Blake. . . Well their first date wasn't what he expected. It started with some tea on the balcony of a cafe, then it ended with them kicking Torchwick's butt on the docks. He got away though, that was the bad part. Their second date was a White Fang meeting. Messing with Torchwick once again. But it was their third date where he started to like her a lot more.

They were just sitting in the park under a tree, holding hands. Not a single word was spoken for a while, she was reading her book while he was eating a banana. That was when he saw her smile the first time. A little baby was crawling towards them and the baby took an interest in Blake, crawling onto her lap. It was an adorable scene, but she smiled for the first time around him. It could have been a smile that resulted in there being a cute baby, but it was a lot deeper than that.

He had teased her about it back then, "you should smile more often, it makes you a lot cuter."

She rolled her eyes. "It's just a smile. What's wrong with it?"

"Well, you smiled. I've never seen you smile until now." He chuckled.

"It's just a smile, Sun. Besides, it's not often that a human allows their baby to go near a Faunus."

"That's why you smiled? Because the mother allowed her baby to be near you?" He asked.

"Yeah," she said, "it's a sign that tensions between the Faunus and Humans are starting to die down." Another smile, "isn't that something worth smiling about?"

Thinking back, it really was the first time she had said more than three sentences to him, not to mention hold hands with him. Fast forward months later, they were sleeping in the same bed.

He felt like the luckiest guy in the world.

Heh, there's no one else that comes close. She's so amazing . . . She's such a strong and fiercely independent girl, can look out for herself . . . I love Blake so much-

His mind paused.

Wait . . . what?

He did a mental rewind in his head.

I love Blake.
