AN: I wrote most of this chapter today. For some reason I just felt like writing which I'm happy about. Maybe it's a good sign :)
Since 'Rapunzel' is a German story, I chose a German name for her son. I did really well on my German exam and I'm so happy! Ich liebe Deutsch!
Enjoy!
Chapter Nine: Pranks and Babies
"You shouldn't have done that!" Elsa exclaimed as she paced around their room. Jack was sitting on a couch, laughing at his wife who seemed to take the prank way more seriously than him.
"Come on, Elsa! You have to admit it was at least a bit funny!" he laughed. Elsa just glared at her husband and sat down on the sofa beside him.
"It was highly inappropriate! That's not something you can do!" she scolded. "Where did you even get the frog?"
"I didn't get it. It was Flynn's idea."
"You did it with him?" Elsa's eyebrows almost disappeared into her hair.
"Yeah, it was fun! Even Anna thought so," Jack told her, still smirking.
"Well, I do not," she snapped and got up. "They all demand explanations from me since I'm the Queen just because of your stupid prank!" she complained while walking towards the window of the room.
It was midday and they had just said goodbye to Anna and Kristoff who had left for their honeymoon. The wedding party the previous evening had continued into the night and a lot of interesting things had happened. Elsa had gone to sleep earlier since she had been so tired so she didn't know exactly all the details but apparently Jack and Eugene had done some pranks and now it was Elsa's duty to sort everything out. The problem was that she had been peacefully sleeping in her bed the whole night so she didn't even know what had happened exactly.
Now when she tried to confront Jack about the incident, it seemed like he just thought it was funny. She knew it wasn't a big thing and honestly, she wasn't even sure why she was so mad. Maybe it had something to do with her hormones once again, she wasn't sure.
"Elsa," Jack said gently and stood up from the couch as well. He walked over to her and turned her around to face him. "It was a party and we had fun. I can go and explain to them what happened if you want. You weren't even there so you don't need to worry about it."
Elsa looked up at him and finally sighed. "Fine. Just... don't do that again, okay?"
"I won't," he promised but Elsa noticed that little smirk on his lips which hinted something else.
"I really mean it," she crossed her arms.
"Oh come on, Elsa," Jack groaned. "I can't promise that! You know how much I love to see the faces of all the nobles when we decide to tease them a bit. They are always so stuck-up and need some fun in their lives."
"So, you're saying I'm stuck-up?" she asked, raising her eyebrow but Jack just shook his head.
"Not you my Queen," he answered, cupping her chin and planted a kiss on her lips. "I have to go now. I promised to show some things to Flynn while he's still here," he informed her and took a few steps backwards. "We try not to get in trouble."
"I hope so," Elsa muttered.
Jack just laughed and started to make his way out of the room but bumped into Rapunzel who was just entering the room, her son in her arms.
"Oh, hi Rapunzel," he greeted her. "Is Flynn waiting for me?"
"Yep," she nodded. "He's in the hall," she told him. A small smirk appeared on her lips and she lowered her voice. "Nice job last night."
She raised her hand to high five with Jack, who gave her a smirk of his own.
"I heard that," Elsa commented when she heard the noise and put away the book she had been holding.
"Hi, Elsa," Rapunzel greeted her with an innocent smile, walking inside the room.
"Hi, Rapunzel," Elsa replied sarcastically and turned around to face her cousin. When she saw the little baby boy in Rapunzel's arms, she forgot everything that had been bothering her and gasped.
"Oh, he's so adorable!" she breathed. She hadn't been able to properly meet Rapunzel's son yet because of everything that had happened so it was the first time she actually got to look at him. He had brown hair and as her cousin had said, he did look a bit like his father.
Rapunzel smiled warmly and walked over to where Elsa was standing. "He is handsome, isn't he?" she admitted, stroking his short brown hair. The baby yawned and stared at his mother who chuckled.
"How old is he?" Elsa asked, sitting down on the couch. Rapunzel sat next to her and placed her son on her thighs.
"Emil is 3 months old," she answered, tickling his belly and making him giggle.
Elsa chuckled next to them and couldn't help but fawn over the boy. He was so cute and still so tiny. She wondered what her own baby would be like. She didn't even know the gender and it was still a long way to go until she would meet him or her. Rapunzel seemed to sense her thoughts as she stopped playing with her son and saw Elsa's daydreaming.
"You'll meet yours soon," she spoke and snapped Elsa back to reality. "How far along are you anyway?"
"10 weeks," Elsa answered, smiling slightly.
"So you're due in December," Rapunzel calculated.
"Yes, the midwife said on December 6th."
The brunet nodded. "How are you feeling?" she then asked.
"Physically or emotionally?"
"Both" she shrugged.
Elsa sighed and answered, "I'm fine. A little unwell this morning but it passed. And I'm getting there. It still feels a bit unreal, though."
"It always does," Rapunzel admitted. "But there's something I want to show you that might help. Stand up."
"What? Why?" Elsa frowned, confused.
"Just do it," she told her and placed Emil on the couch next to them, making sure he was secure. Elsa stood up, looking at her cousin, who also got up from the couch. Rapunzel took Elsa's hand and placed it on her abdomen.
"Do you feel that?" she asked, letting go of her hand. Elsa frowned but then felt something that was about the size of an orange.
"Yes..." she answered.
"That's your uterus," Rapunzel explained. Elsa's eyes widened and she stared at her hand that was resting on her abdomen.
"Really?" she asked, looking up at Rapunzel. The brunet nodded.
"Yes. It's growing already and soon you'll really start showing. I thought it could make you believe that there really is someone in there if you actually felt it."
Elsa looked back at her stomach and smiled. Suddenly a little cry was heard from the sofa where Emil was lying and Rapunzel immediately scooped him up.
"The little one is tired and probably hungry," she explained. "I have to go and put him to sleep."
"That's okay," Elsa nodded. "I have to sign a few papers and you can come here when you are done. My maid promised to serve us some tea in one of the tearooms today."
"Oh, that sounds great!" Rapunzel's face brightened. "I will come back as soon as possible. Don't die of boredom," she commanded.
"I won't," Elsa laughed and waved at Emil who was looking at her. "I will see you soon, too," she said to him.
She watched as they left the room and when she was sure she was alone again, she placed her hand back on her abdomen. It felt like she had the first actual connection to the baby growing inside of her when she felt that little bump under her hand.
"Hi baby," she finally whispered. "I can't wait to meet you."
