`Hello again, my lovelies!
I am so sorry that it has been such a long time again! I am just now able to pick up writing once more. I feel so bad for leaving you guys hanging, all of your inputs and reviews always mean so much to me. I am enjoying that you all love it! Especially Aiden! I also enjoy reading who you think the stalker is! I promise you, it will be a surprise! Anyway, I am hoping to get back into everything, I am finally getting some good things flowing. This story, and two of my others are my top ones. One in the Avengers and the one that is not posted is for Supernatural. If you don't mind reading those as well, I would enjoy reading your opinions!
As always with love,
IHR
Kevin left not long after the pot had been broken. He didn't want to leave, but Double D insisted so that things wouldn't carry on further. He said that he wanted to take things slow...so here they go. He still couldn't believe that this was really happening. Part of him was hoping it was a dream, for he was scared to be exploring this part of himself. But the other...was damn glad that it was starting to happen. It was about damn time!
Kevin had a goofy grin on his face as he walked back to his home, his empty home. Well, all except for Dozer. Halfway across the cul-de-sac, Kevin paused and looked around. The hair on the back of his neck stood straight up. He had been here before, had this same feeling. It has been happening a lot lately...too often. Something wasn't right, but what was it? Feeling a shiver down his spine, Kevin's senses were on high alert as his green eyes darted around, trying to spot even the slightest thing out of place. Was he really just losing it? Could it be with everything that was going on with Double D, he was just sensitive to other things? Or maybe afraid that someone will see them?
Shaking his head, he gave a large sigh. "Get a hold of yourself, Kevin." He mumbled, starting to walk back to his home once again. He would have to make sure that Double D didn't take his late night walks anymore. The baseball Jock would prefer him to not be alone. Something like him being cornered or...God forbid kidnapped…
Calm. Down.
Dear god he was sounding like an overly worried mother!
As he opened his door, Dozer came barreling through, almost hitting the door in the process. The hair on the back of the dog's neck was standing up, causing Kevin to frown. "You sense it too, boy?" Kevin asked him, as if expecting the dog to actually give a response. But only those who really knew Kevin understood that he had an unspoken bond with Dozer, they seemed to know what each other were trying to say without words really needing to be said.
"That's it." The Jock said before going into the kitchen drawer, grabbing Dozer's short leash and then heading to his dad's bedroom. Digging under the mattress, Kevin pulled out the Glock 19 that his dad always kept for a 'just in case' type of measure. Placing it in the waistband of his pants, Kevin hooked Dozer out and into the night they set. Kevin was determined that he was going to find out what was going on.
Double D sighed as he stepped out of a cold shower, he really needed that to help...calm what was going through his body. The rush of feeling Kevin against him. His lips on his…
The memory caused a shiver to run down his spine in excitement as his cheeks heated. That cold shower didn't help at all! He was wired, fully awake. There was no way he was going to be able to go to sleep right now.
Heading downstairs, Eddward hummed as he got a glass of water and stared out the kitchen window. He saw a light flashing around in the middle of the cul-de-sac. "What in the world…" He mumbled before trying to get a better look. Was that Kevin? No..
Wearing only pajama bottoms, Edd quickly slipped on his robe and the first pair of shoes he found before stepping outside. "Kevin?" He called out and clutched his robe closer to him.
Kevin looked from where he was, "Double D...go back inside." His tone was slightly commanding.
The tone of his voice rather surprised the swimmer. Every fiber of his being wanted to follow that command but his head said otherwise. "No." He said stubbornly before walking up to the redhead. "What are you doing?" He asked and reached his hand down, petting the German Shepherd's head.
Kevin grumbled before sighing. "Something isn't right. I have been having a bad feeling for the past couple days...almost like someone is watching. Then when your pot got knocked over and then the overwhelming feeling of someone watching. Hell, Dozer even sensed something. He was on edge when I came home. I want you and the others here safe, so, I am checking things out."
Edd nodded, understanding his reason. "I see...but you don't need to be doing this by yourself, Kevin. If something truly is out here, you could get hurt as well. Why don't we just call the police?" He offered.
"No, I have protection." This made the ravenette tilt his head but Kevin wasn't going to answer unless he had to. "Besides, I don't want to call the police if it is nothing. I would just feel better doing a quick sweep."
"Fine, then I will come with you." Double D's chin held up as his blue eyes met the emerald ones. Clearly he wasn't budging.
Not wanting to argue at this time of night in the middle of the road, Kevin sighed and agreed. He would have to pick his battles, this wasn't one.
When Kevin turned to continue walking, Double D grinned to himself. He actually won! Happy with himself, he followed close behind. What on earth was he thinking in coming along with this? Normally the night would not bother him, but what if Kevin was right? What if something or someone was truly out there that shouldn't be? What if it was the same person that took Mark?
So many 'what if's' were running through his head, he didn't realize he had reached out and gently grabbed Kevin's shirt. Causing the redhead to tilt his head and look back at him. "You really should go on home.." He said, his tone gentle.
Double D cleared his throat. "No, no...I will be fine. My senses are heightened from the adrenaline" He began to ramble on about how the body reacted to such things, which was something he did to get his mind off whatever it was that he was doing or if he was nervous.
Kevin couldn't help but grin a little, he knew that Double D was trying to be brave, but he wouldn't go home either. So, he kept him close, he preferred it that way anyway.
They had spent an hour looking around before Dozer seemed to be trying to go for the woods, a low sound was escaping his throat. "Stay behind me." Kevin said as he pulled the gun from his waistband, causing Double D's eyes to go wide. "Where did you get that?!" His voice held a higher tone.
"Relax, it is my dad's." Kevin said as he walked with Dozer to where the German Shepherd was trying to go. "That's it boy, lead me to where you want to take me." He said as they walked.
Soon Dozer came to a complete stop, a low rumble escaping his chest. The light, which had been passed to Double D, was soon pointed in the direction. Both boys stared in horror at the scene before him.
"Dear God…" Eddward said between gags.
Kevin just stood there, silent. His skin more pale than normal, his emerald eyes wide.
The body of Mark Williams lay before them, naked and beaten, he lay there lifeless. The look of horror captured on his face, his soulless eyes stared at Kevin. It was obvious that he had not been killed there, for there was no blood and his body was staged. Dozer nudged Kevin, as if trying to knock him out of the trance he had went into.
Blinking a couple times, the redhead's shaky hand reached into his pants pocket and pulled out his cellphone, almost dropping it a couple times. His fingers even had trouble dialing 9-1-1. "H-Hello?" He stammered, as if completely forgetting who he was on the phone with.
Double D gently took the phone from his hand, his fingers trying to comfort Kevin as he talked to the operator, explaining what they had found. "They will be here soon." He said softly. "Come on, we should wait for them at my house." He said in a motherly tone, gently trying to lead Kevin away from the corpse.
"He...he…" Kevin was trying to speak.
"Shhh." Eddward cooed as he led Kevin and Dozer to his home. Letting them both inside, he didn't even require Kevin to take his shoes off even though he removed his own and his robe. Kevin stopped on the rug and looked down at his feet before slowly sliding his boots off.
"You need to sit down." Edd said and motioned towards the couch.
"But the shoes…"
"I will handle it. You are in shock Kevin." He said before heading to the kitchen to put water on to boil. When he left the baseball star alone with his dog, he just dropped the leash and slowly made his way to the couch. Right as he made it, his knees gave out, causing him to collapse on the soft cushions.
Dozer moved to his side, concerned for his owner. The large German Shepherd head rested on Kevin's thigh, his dark brown eyes looking up at him with concern.
"I am okay, boy." He said and patted his head. He couldn't say the same thing about Mark...Poor Mark...who would do such a thing? Mark could be a dick, yeah. But he didn't deserve what had happened to him.
Right as Double D came to him with a cup of warm tea, there was a pounding at the door, causing both boys to jump and the tea to almost spill.
"Eddward Vincent? I am Detective Adam Chase. Please open up." A man spoke from the other side.
"Could he knock any louder?" He mumbled before he moved to open the door.
"Drink." Edd said, trying to use the same tone that Kevin had used earlier. Though it didn't have much strength behind it, it caused the red head to smile. "I am, I am." He said and motioned for him to go answer the door.
Placing his robe back on his shoulders, Eddward moved to open the door. "Detective?" He said, his blue eyes meeting the older man's. He was rather young to be a detective.
Adam nodded. "Yes. May I come in?" He asked gently, causing Double D to step aside and motioned for him to come in. "Would you like something to drink, Detective?" He asked before stopping him on the rug. "Shoes off please."
The Detective looked to him, surprised, before glancing at Kevin on the couch who nodded. "It's a thing for him."
Not wanting to disrespect, he immediately began to take off his shoes before motioning for a cop that had been standing with him on the porch to stay there. "You two were the ones who found the body, correct?" He asked and took a seat beside Kevin.
Kevin nodded before rubbing his face, "yeah."
He nodded and pulled out his notepad. "If you don't mind me asking, where are your parents?" Adam looked between the two.
"My dad is in the next town over, he works during the week and is home on the weekends." Kevin said, taking a drink of the tea Double D made him.
Double D brought a cup to the Detective. "My parents are currently in England, working." At least he thought they were. They were the last time he talked to them.
He took a seat in the chair beside the couch.
"It might be a good idea to call them, at least let them know what is going on." Adam said before brushing a hand through his brunette hair. "Alright, so explain to me what happened."
The boys shared a glance before Kevin began to explain the events of what happened.
"Yeah, I am okay dad. No, no… You don't need to come home early." Kevin paced as he talked to his father on the phone. He had spent the last 10 minutes trying to calm him down and explain that there was no need for him to come home. He looked up when someone knocked on the door rather frantically, and spared a glance at Double D who was getting up to answer.
As soon as the door opened, Nat threw himself at Double D and pulled him into a hug. "Oh thank god you are okay, Sweet Cheeks! Nazz and I just heard about what happened. Are you okay? Does Nurse Natt need to take care of you?" He asked, squeezing the lean teen tighter as he went.
"Let him breathe, Nat." Nazz said as she slipped in. Kneeling, she took off her shoes before stepping off the matt. "Nat, shoes off." She told him before looking towards the Jock who was still on the phone. "Word is spreading fast."
Eddward nodded, "the image is burned into my brain." He said before motioning for them to sit down when all the shoes were in their according place. "Do you want something to drink?" He asked them, still trying to be a good host.
Nazz gave a sweet smile, "Nat, why don't you go make everyone something to drink? Make sure to put everything back exactly how you found it." She said and motioned for him to shoo.
"Fine, fine." He mumbled and strolled into the kitchen.
Nazz and Double D looked towards Kevin when he hung up the phone. "He still trying to come home early?" The swimmer asked.
Kevin shook his head. "No, I was able to convince him otherwise. He will be checking in quite often though. He has said if I do not respond within a certain amount of time, he is calling the police. Did your parents ever call back?" He asked.
Eddward shook his head. "I left a voicemail earlier, who knows when they will call back." That response caused the other two to shake their heads. Everyone always thought that Eddward's parents never wanted kids, and even when they had one, they acted as if they didn't and always put way too much pressure on him.
"I will be spending the night here." Kevin stated.
"Ke-..." Eddward tried to protest but Kevin held his hand up. "No. I am staying here. After what happened, I am not leaving you alone." There it was again...that commanding tone. It caused him to nod in agreement. "Okay."
Nazz smiled. "I will stay as well."
Nat poked his head out from the kitchen before bringing in tea. "I am too!"
Kevin couldn't help but smile. "Looks like you are going to have guests." He chuckled.
"Oh dear.." Eddward mumbled. Though, he would enjoy the company. If he was honest with himself, he was scared to be alone. Hell, he was just plain scared.
There you go! I am so glad to finally get this out and rolling! As I had stated, I am going to be doing what I can to be working on this story, as well as my Avenger one that has a chapter up, and then a Supernatural one where the first chapter will be soon coming out. I would love for your opinions!
I love you all and it is so good to be back,
IHR
