Daughter Of Chaos
Chapter 9
Mekai knew exactly when the spider had finished it's task. It appeared on her windowsill, and tapped the glass with four of it's long legs until she came to collect him from outdoors. "I trust it's been done?" she asked the spider. It clicked and made several noises that almost sounded like purring. "Ill take that as a yes." Mekai turned her gaze to Susi. The big wolf had laid down and slept on the floor in her room since the spider had left. Now, Susi was awake and alert. "You should give that spider a name your majesty." Mekai tilted her head. "Oh?" she asked. "All of the animals and things you create cannot continue to exist unless you give them a name. From there they have a live, and can even take human form." Mekai turned her gaze back to the spider that gazed up to her with begging eyes, causing Mekai to giggle. She didn't think a spider could have shiny, puppy dog eyes. This one certainly did. "Hmmmmm…" Mekai carefully rotated the spider, looking at it from all different angles. She smiled. A thought came to her. "Faal Vonun." Susi tilted her head curiously. "It means 'the unseen'." The spider clicked in her palm. "You did your job well. Eyes may look for you, always they shall. But when they find you, it will be too late. You are The Unseen." The spider let out a *wurrrrr* of its insectlike purring. "I take it you like your name?" Mekai placed the spider on the bed and watched as it began to grow and take shape. Black threads snapped into place, taking on a humanoid form. There was a cracking sound, then the threads split away. A young boy sat there staring at her, a cheeky grin on his face. This boy had azure- teal eyes, the kind you can't easily peel your own gaze away from. He had black short hair, with a tinge of golden brown at the ends. He giggled. Then he spoke, as Mekai looked in wonder. "Aye, I like my name." he said to her. Mekai said nothing but hugged the young boy close to her.
The Sailor Scouts had all assembled nearby the Queen's bed. They waited tensely, waiting for her to wake up. Lita looked at Serenity, who tossed and turned in her sleep, sometimes even screaming. The queen finally slammed straight up out of her bed, panting heavily, a bead of sweat trickling down her forehead. Mina grabbed a damp, cool cloth and placed it over the Queen's forehead. "Serena…" Ami said. Serenity snapped her gace to them. "It was Mekai. She meant well, but she…." Serenity trailed off. "What did she do?" Raye demanded. "That spider, held a venom specifically for me. Made by the Queen of darkness herself." Mina removed herself from Serenity's side on the bed. "How did she mean well, remind me again.?" The queen hesitated. "She tells me, that I am blind to issues within the city that are even covered up sometimes. She tells me that from now on, I will experience the pain of others through my dreams. She says the only way for the venom to eject itself I will have to learn to…" "What is it?" Lita asked. "She tells me I am looking, but not truly seeing. She says I am blind. I very well could be." Serenity trailed off her words in a near whisper. "That explains her slightly frosty attitude to us." Ami said, her brows furrowed in thought. Serenity crossed her arms across herself, looking down. "I feel that Mekai could be even at war with herself inside, somehow." Raye grumbled. "It may be because she is Chao's daughter?" Lita nodded. "Could be."
Mekai sat in her castle hall, gazing out a large window beside her dragon's head throne. From here, she could see the moon queen's castle. She'd just finished speaking to the Queen through her dreams. She'd shown her a incident that happened to someone within her city. She decided to make sure that the queen would do her job, and root out the corruption with her city. Crystal Tokyo, she thought. She studied the crystal city from afar. If she chose to, she could listen in on the entire city. She wasn't going to, until she heard a faint scream from the city. It wasn't the Queen's. She listened further, closing her eyes. The city's surroundings opened up to her, she could see them as if she was truly there. She followed the screaming at what she saw outraged her beyond explanation. There was a woman and a man in an alleyway, and they struggled. Mekai knew she had to act, she cannot allow this to go further. She will herself to that location. She appeared before the man and woman, she saw the woman's horrified eyes. The man backhanded the woman, and she crumpled to the floor, unconscious. That enraged Mekai all the further. He hadn't noticed her presence yet either. Mekai's yellow-star like eyes glittered with fury. She reached for the man, latching on to him by his shoulder, he flinched, spinning around to gaze directly into hell's wrath. She lunged for him, he had attempted to move, but he was too slow. She latched onto him by the throat. "I could snap your neck. I could hit you, like you hit her. But no." Mekai's voice caused the man's ears to ring, and a thin stream on blood ran from his nose when she had spoke. Her voice alone, could tear him apart when she spoke. Black threads snapped before her, changing her form. Crackling purple lightning encased this form as it grew. She was turning into her dragon form. The man looked to the alleyway entrance, but it had been blocked by the dragon's immense form. She was not going to allow him to escape. She snatched him up in the talons from her feet, whilst she took care of taking the human female in her front claws. She allowed both her dragon heads to roar, the man screamed and kicked. Mekai slammed her wings downwards, firing her up off the ground. She flew towards the Queen's castle, ignoring the man's struggles.
