Chapter 9 - A sour morning
Jack's lips were soft, hot, just as if they were a feverish, and had the same wild scent of pine and freshly fallen snow that the rest of the white haired boy had, it was very much stronger, though. The feeling on Hiccup's mouth was similar to the one he had on his forehead when Jack kissed him at Astrid's: a delicate, gentle warmth that quickly spread from his lips to the rest of his face. Hiccup moved his hand from his own leg and slowly rested it on Jack's cheek, just like he saw the other boy do with him no more than two hours before.
Hiccup sighed happily and emitted the softest of the moans as he closed his eyelids to fully savor that awesome moment, possibly before his brain started working again and made him feel like the beast he was for kissing someone in that state and taking advantage of him. He knew, he goddamn knew, it was something horrible, stupid, rash and pretty risky too, but he couldn't help himself: he craved that for too long and it felt too good to just stop.
Soon, both of his hands were on Jack's face and his eyes were opened again, his kiss slowly grew bolder, second by second, and, before he even had time to realize what he was doing, his tongue was licking Jack's lower lip, slipping through the white haired boy's slightly parted lips and into his mouth. Hiccup started to explore Jack's moist, warm cavern as he let out another moan, this time a bit louder.
Now… to Hiccup, this situation was quite strange and shocking, yet curious: after all, who could have ever imagined that he would have gone from Astrid's party to frenching an asleep Jack in less than two hours? Nobody, of course. In fact at that point, the brunet was pretty sure that anything that could have happened that night, had already happened.
However, unbeknownst to the brunet, the Destiny still had a last prank to play at him, that night. In fact something still had to happen and give poor Hiccup an utter shock.
In fact, the thing that Hiccup thought the most unlikely in the whole universe happened. However the thing that left the brunet astonished was not the fact that, suddenly, Jack's blue eyes fluttered open and the white haired boy's iced yet warm gaze was locked in Hiccup's. No. The thing that left Hiccup completely astounded was that, as soon as he realized that Jack was not sleeping, but wide awake instead, and he made a motion to pull back, a million different excuses already building into his mind to justify his action, the white haired boy's hand flew to his nape and pulled him back into a full french kiss, pressing their mouths hard against each other. He felt Jack's tongue starting to move against his own, trying to find a rhythm and dance together with his own wet muscle. Saying that Hiccup felt his own mind explode with happiness and pure, utter, complete pleasure and satisfaction would have been the greatest of the understatements.
When he abruptly realized that Jack was actually kissing him back, he deepened the kiss even more, slowly moving on the bed from his chair and propping himself above Jack with his elbows and knees. He pushed the other boy's head down hard into the pillow, pressing on Jack's lips with his own. When Jack's mouth started to move against his own, trying to follow the movements of their tongues, Hiccup let out a loud, pleasured moan and tilted his head to the side, sighing contently and giving Jack full control over the kiss, as well as access to his mouth as their tongues fiercely, heatedly, almost with need, intertwined.
Since Jack was drunk and Hiccup felt just as dizzy as if he was, the kiss was sloppy, slow, wet and clumsy, with trails of saliva that drooled down their mouths and imbued the pillow.
The brunet felt a shaft growing in between his legs, twitching and throbbing at the rhythm of the kiss as it became longer and thicker. When he heard Jack's soft groans and light moans, he felt pre-cum staining his boxers and slowly, drop by drop, making his underwear sticky against his member.
As the kiss grew more heated and needy, the air that Hiccup still managed to inhale through his nose started to run short, and soon the brunet had to unwillingly part his lips from Jack's, pulling away from the kiss with a disapproving moan. As soon as his tongue stopped swirling, he collapsed on the other boy, and barely succeeded, somehow, to lift his hips not to smash his own erection on Jack's member.
"Now that was a good night kiss, Hiccy." Jack said, the staining of drunkenness still evident in his voice.
The brunet just panted and barely whispered a "Yes it was…" in between his shallow breathes. Slowly he forced himself to roll off of Jack and laid by his side, encircling the other boy's chest with his arms and pulling him as near as possible, close enough to sense his wild, frosty scent in his nostrils.
For a few minutes, Hiccup found himself completely unable to talk or even make a single movement, different from just inspiring and expiring. "J-Jack?" He stuttered after the calm minutes of silence. "I… I like you. I've been liking you since I first saw you, but I was too afraid of grossing you out, at first, and then of losing you to tell you something. Now, though, as we both experienced, I'm not anymore." Jack stayed silent and still in his arms as he spilled the content of his heart. "What I'm trying to say is… d-do you want to go out with me? L-like… on a date? With kissing and all..."
He had said it! He had finally said it! Finally that heavy stone that had constantly oppressed his heart and his lungs for so long had been shattered! Gone. Faded. Vanished. Not existent anymore. Exploded. Ka-boom!
'Hell yeah!' he mentally screamed happily, a smile creeping his way on his face. 'I feel so good. I feel so right. I feel so… perfect!'. He would have been worried about the whole 'feeling guilty' matter, if nothing happened. But Jack kissed him back! Hell, yeah he did! 'Well, fuck the guilt then! I mean, who gives a fucking shit? Jack kissed me back! All I can be able to feel with Jack around is happiness, and I got kissed back so it means that he likes me and we'll get to be around each other for a lot of time! Nothing feels wrong when I'm with him! I'm just going to feel the best I've ever felt in my whole life!'
But, while all this musing happened in his mind, one thing was actually slowly planting the seed of doubt and fear into his mind. Why hadn't Jack answered to his question yet? That seed, as the minutes passed, slowly grew and, as he did, he made all the happiness and the safeness that he felt, into a pool of black, deep terror. Silence filled the room. It was so freezing that Hiccup could have sworn he felt his own sweat become ice on his forehead. He felt an abyss opening under him and threatening to swallow him alive.
"J-Jack?" he said, his voice was halfway between an inaudible whisper and a stammer. "Uhm… I-it was a-a prank! I do-don't really like you. I-I was just kidding a-and you fell for it! Ah ah… g-gotcha!"
No answer. Hiccup was about to have a complete mental breakdown and to burst out crying, begging Jack to forgive him, when he suddenly heard a weird noise coming from the white haired boy, that sounded just like a mixture of a sneeze and a moan with a bit of a coughing.
On the brunet's face, doubt was now depicted. "Wh-what?" he asked, whispering.
Jack stayed silent for a few seconds and then made that noise again. And again after another pause of a few seconds. And again. And again.
It took Hiccup a good minute to understand what it was, but when he did, he had trouble muffling his chuckles. Jack was snoring. The kiss had been, as a matter of fact, a true, literal good night kiss. 'Oh, well…' he thought merrily to himself, smiling at the other's cuteness. 'He'll answer tomorrow morning, after showering his hangover off. Maybe I'll be lucky enough and he'll let me help…' The smile on his face grew wider. 'Oh, and talking about showers… I'm so sweaty that I should take one. I wasn't planning on sleeping anyways…' The red, flashing digits on the alarm clock read 4:26 A.M. 'And it's too late doze off, I would just waste my time…'
The brunet got off the bed, his movements slower and clumsier than usual due to the lack of sleep. He turned around to look at his sleeping bedmate another time. In his eyes, the snoring figure of Jack looked even cuter, even more delicate than it had ever been. The picture of a fragile yet strong beauty. In a single word, handsome. Hiccup sighed. Maybe he got that kiss back, only because Jack was drunk. Maybe the other boy was an utter homophobe and did what he did just for a weird process of his subconscious. Maybe he was nothing to Jack but a weird friend. Or maybe…
"I'm beating myself over it too much. What has been done, cannot be changed. And he kissed me back. So I'd better be happy and wait until he wakes up.' Hiccup mentally scolded himself, interrupting his own trail of thoughts and forcing his brain to move his feet towards the shower, instead.
The hot flow of steaming water helped him to wash his worry away, as did the gentle caress of the soap and the sweet scent of his vanilla infused shampoo. He felt so good under the hot shower, that he actually remained in the tub until all the warm water ran out and he had to exit and dry himself before getting cold.
He slipped into a set of clean clothes, after evaluating the idea of slipping into bed with Jack, completely naked. He realized that the other boy could have felt uncomfortable, though, and decided against his former idea, picking a pair of blue jeans and a green shirt with two rows of buttons.
He was just looking around himself, drowsily, when he realized a very important thing. 'I got to tell Toothless!' he yelled in his own mind, pulling the phone out and dialing Toothless' phone number as if he was at the dialing Olympics, without even looking at the clock on the screen.
The phone beeped for a few seconds, then…
"Hello?" A husky voice answered from the other side of the phone, a shade of sleepy annoyance in it.
"Toothless? This is me, Hiccup. Your voice is weird… did I wake you up, by any chance? Am I disturbing you?" he asked, not really thinking his words before speaking them.
"Hiccup, I seriously hope for you that your own life is in great danger or that Jack has just laid in your bed, naked and begging you to take him on the spot. Because I honestly can't see another good reason for which you should have awakened me in the middle of the night, while I was having a fantastic dream about me and my newfound girlfriend."
Yes, Toothless was definitely pissed off. It didn't take that long to Hiccup deduce it. "So I am disturbing you, after all." The brunet stated, smirking at his friend's dreams.
"No shit, Sherlock!" The other replied, sounding more and more pissed by the second. "Now tell me why you called and hurry, if you would. And it better be something really important."
"What were the valid options, again?"
"You dying or Jack having sex with you." Toothless spat out. Through the phone, Hiccup heard the sink of Toothless' kitchen turning on and a glass being filled.
"It was almost the second one, then." The brunet said, calmly, matter-of-factly almost.
A few seconds of spluttering and choking later, Toothless barked something at the phone and hung up. It sounded very much like "I'm there in five minutes."
Exactly two minutes and thirty-seven seconds later, according to his alarm clock (which, by the way, read 5:24 AM), the brunet received a text from his black haired friend that said "Open front door."
"I don't believe you." Was the first thing that Toothless said as soon as the brunet ushered him into his mansion. "It cannot be true. Not so fast. You didn't even tell him and he was so drunk he was practically passed out already. You two cannot have had sex. I don't believe you, I can't believe you. Where is he? Where is Jack? Oh, good morning, by the way." Toothless was dressed in his pajama, his hair was ruffled, his eyes were swollen and slightly red due to the sudden interruption of his sleep, he was bare footed and he had the keys of his brand old Cadillac in his right hand. His knees were shaking a bit, he was panting and he looked like he just had received a major electroshock.
"Toothless? You look pretty… worn out…" Hiccup chuckled. He so wanted to have a camera right in that moment. "Do you want to sit down for a second? Something to drink?"
The black haired boy shook his head as his breathing quickly evened. "Where is Jack?" he asked again. When he decided that Hiccup hadn't answered him for long enough (and that would be after, more or less, half a second), he gently pushed the brunet out of his way and ran up the stairs, his feet creepily prodicing no sound.
"Well… being his car a Night-fury… it's more than right for him to be the Sneak-fury." Hiccup muttered to himself, as he followed his black haired friend's footsteps up the staircase and in his room. "Hey Tooth!" he called when he saw him standing next to the bed and looking at Jack. "I think I found a new nickname for you. I bet you'll like it."
Toothless didn't answer. "Did you two really have sex?" he asked abruptly. Beating around the bush really wasn't his cup of tea. "I don't care if you did, even less how you did it. I just want to know. Did you?"
"No, we didn't…" Hiccup said, sighing softly. "I don't know if that's bad or good but we didn't…"
"Then why the hell did you wake me up at this time of the night? It's barely dawning, outside and I'm so sleepy that I ran all the red lights with my car! There has to be a reason!" His voice started to sound angry.
"You know what they say? Curiosity killed the dragon, Tooth. Don't push too far. You may not want to know…"
"Hiccup! Now!" Toothless hissed, glaring menacingly at his friend.
"I kissed him." Hiccup said calmly, a smile on his face at the memory of the precious moments he shared with Jack just a bit earlier. "I kissed him. When he was asleep."
"What?!" Toothless exclaimed, without minding not to wake Jack. "Tell me everything! I have to know everything. Like… really badly. I'm all ears, spill it all right now."
"Nothing special…" Hiccup said shrugging. "He was asleep, I placed my lips on his and that's all. He tasted of peppermint and freshly fallen snow. That's all…"
"Hic… I'm pretty sure that you can't taste someone's mouth with a simple brush of lips. Are you sure that what you told me is all that happened."
"T-totally."
"Liar."
Hiccup couldn't take it anymore. He giggled in utter happiness and freed all his feelings, giving birth to the happiest expression he ever had on his face. "I frenched him when I thought he was asleep. And guess what? He was awake! Like completely awake! And that's not all. He kissed me back. Kissed me back! Me! It felt so awesome! It was like I was burning up and… I don't know how to properly describe it, but may all the gods curse me for the eternity if it wasn't the best thing I've ever felt. It was so… good. So… satisfying. So… perfect." The brunet said, his speech as fast as it had never been before and his voice so dreamy that you could have seen dragons in it if.
"Oh my God! This is awesome!" Toothless cheered in utter joy. "I'm so happy for you. So? Did he already asked you out or you did it in his place?"
"Uhm…" Hiccup blushed and hesitated a bit, "Well… he kind of… uhm… fell asleep before I could ask him. But I'm definitely doing it as soon as he wake up. And I'd like you to be here so you can… how can I say… give me courage."
"Give you courage?" Toothless smirked. "I get it… You are nervous. You are scared that he will say no! Oh, but here comes my experience in love stories. I've read and watched tons and tons of chick flicks to be ready for the moment in which I would have confessed my love to Astrid, I'm practically a know it all about these things. What you need to do, it's prepare him breakfast. A nice breakfast will perk his mood up and will increase your possibilities of receiving a positive answer. I'm a pretty good baker myself. I'll help you."
Within the time lapse of two minutes, the two friends were in the kitchen, wearing aprons and starting to prepare various cupcakes, along with some cookie paste to bake [Yeah, guys, you guessed right] cookies.
The house started to smell delicious and chocolate flavored steam began to gather on the ceiling.
"Hello, guys." A voice muttered sleepily from the kitchen door. "What are you preparing for breakfast?"
Hiccup spun around, a shiny smile on his lips. He recognized Jack's voice. "Good morning, Jackie." He chirped happily. "How are you feeling?"
"Got a bit of hangover, Hiccy, but I'm fine. Plus I'm going to get an awesome breakfast, so… How could I be better than this?" Jack replied, flashing the warmest of his smiles to the brunet, causing said boy to melt and go 'aaaw'. The white haired boy sat down on a chair, still dressed in the same clothes as the night before. "I would need only one thing, though…"
"Ask me anything." Hiccup replied, sitting next to Jack. His smile was now softer.
"Can you explain me how did I get here?" Jack asked.
"Uhm… I dragged you there, Jack. You were completely drunk. D-don't you remember?" Hiccup asked, a tedious worry creeping into his brain, slowly cracking his happiness.
"No… Yesterday night is a total blur…" Jack said. "I remember everything until the vodka pong but then… it becomes blurry…"
Hiccup's smile fell and the worry became certainty. "Y-you don't remember anything e-else? N-nothing?"
"No. Maybe… there was something… movement… much movement… but nothing else." Jack said, rubbing his chin in his musing. "But I'm sure that I would remember if there was anything worth remembering, wouldn't I?"
Toothless, who had heard all the conversation, frantically waved his arms to prevent Jack from saying anything further. Maybe the day could have still been saved. But Jack didn't notice him and the thing that should have never been said, had been said. The charm was broken, the spell was shattered, as was, Toothless was sure of this, Hiccup's heart.
Hiccup stood up abruptly and hastily, shoving the chair backward. His face was the portrait of letdown and anger. All mixed with a great dose of despair and pain.
One single tear shone in the brunet's eye, before he pointed to the door with his index "Get out." he said, his voice emotionless. "I don't want to see your face anymore, get out of here now."
"B-but I…" Jack tried to argue, taken back by the sudden change in Hiccup's mood.
"I said GET OUT!"
Jack stood up and walked towards the door, looking inquiringly both at Hiccup and at Toothless, and did as the brunet told him.
As soon as the door slammed closed, Hiccup threw himself in Toothless' arms, crying. He was right, then… He didn't mean anything to Jack…
Oh My God Guys I'm still so sorry. Forgive me please! Sorryyyyyyyyyy!
