Wounded Snow; chapter 9!

Apologizing…

She was apologizing for what?

For leaving without a word!

Or, for stupid reasons that- And, better…

What the hell?! Was she mental?

Seto fumed and it could be seen in his eyes. They were blazing, heated pools of blue.

I should kick her out, or strangle her.

Seto wanted to, but he restrain- really retrained from doing any of his current thoughts.

If it were anyone else they would be on their knees, but Haku wasn't. She stood her ground with a look in her eyes – neither a look that Seto wasn't quite used to nor one that he would see without intent behind it.

"Listen," Seto spoke in even tones. "I don't care why you left. I have no time to listen to excuses, so save it.' He turned to leave the room, but not before turning over his shoulder; "the geek squad wants to see you sometime and, I expect to see you downstairs for dinner."

A soft, 'hai', was heard and Seto grunted; his figure disappearing down the halls.

XX….

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Tea asked the spirit of the puzzle. She was scared; she liked him, but if he got his memories back-

"I'm sure, Tea. It is here were my memories lies," the spirit replies; he was a taller version of the current host of the body in which he inhabited at the moment with a slight difference in their eye color and tri-colored hair.

They were at the museum of ancient artifacts.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," Ishizu enters the small area were tablets of memories lay; standing just before the spirit of the pharaoh and Tea.

She couldn't give him the answers; she was only a protector just as many others were. "I apologize, my king, but I cannot answer you for you must find the answers on your own."

Ishizu left leaving the two alone once more. Yami looked at the carving as if he could remember what the ancient text meant, or give him his answers.

That carving….Kaiba?

XX…

Mokuba was ecstatic upon seeing Haku home safely. Home? Yes, she was back home where she belonged with them. He chatted as they sat along the rectangular table eating dinner; Haku listening raptly.

"So, yeah this-

"Mokuba," Seto halted his little brother from speaking and the two turned to face the elder Kaiba. Seto coughed lightly, "Go do as you please, we'll be leaving shortly." That was part of it the other: I need to talk to Haku alone.

When Mokuba was finally gone a silence loomed.

"Look, I'll get straight to the point," Seto said feeling as though he talked more today with her than he did on most. "I just fired a secretary recently and you will fill in that place."

Haku was shocked she was expecting a lash out or something, like learning how to duel, but this… "You want me to be your secretary?"

Seto smirked for the first time in days. "That isn't too much for shinobi of your caliber is it?"

Haku chortled with a shake of her head. "Then, Seto-san what kind of shinobi would I be if I couldn't be –"she paused a slight smirk appearing; "your personal secretary?"

Seto's eyes were filled with mirth. She would be one hell of a secretary especially with her skills. "I'll be counting on you, Haku." He then stood up; "Mokuba!"

Haku changed into a working kimono which Seto didn't mind and once Mokuba was ready they set out.

Kaiba Corp. was as busy as ever as many worked in their offices, but Seto passed them all by without making a glance. Mokuba grinned turning a left corner waving. "I'll be in this office here! I'm the computer business secretary." Mokuba wasn't the president of the company, but was just as important and since he had a good deal of knowledge with computers like his brother he was sort of in charge of that compartment.

Haku nodded in understanding and continued to follow Seto down the hall –two doors down from the computer room.

The office was right across from Seto's main office and Haku was immediately put to work. Haku didn't mind really as it was almost like managing the budget. The office was small, but it would do. Immediately after just finishing up the files and going through them the phone ringed.

"Of course, good day, sir." Haku said politely as possible before hanging up the phone.

The door opened and in walked Seto with his arms crossed. "Mr. Yamaka called. He wishes to see immediately as possible. "

Seto's lips pursed in a scowl; Yamaka was a man he didn't like. "He's here then send him in Haku." That was all the verification Haku needed. She was gone just as Seto turned on his heels and waited for the man to come.

A man dressed in the finest suit, blonde hair sleeked back, broad build and by his side was someone Haku could have sworn she met before as the woman –no teenager had tri-colored hair that had several strains that matched her outfit and contacted eyes.

"Mr. Yamaka," Haku addressed the man. "Please follow me." The teenager walking by his side glared at her back.

Haku led them to Seto's office and knocked, bowing," Kaiba-sama."

Seto ordered them to enter and he snorted at seeing who entered his office followed by Haku. Mr. Yamaka made himself comfortable. "Mr. Kaiba my daughter Satura- Satura bowed reluctantly putting on a bashful smile.

Seto didn't seem impressed. "Haku some tea," it was a request as he sat like a king in his chair.

"I'll," the elder man started folding his hands together. "Get straight to the point. I want to merge my business with yours."

Seto didn't even blink and Haku's void expression didn't weaver as she served jasmine tea. "And, I'm assuming you want this joint to be merged with me marrying your daughter?"

Damn.

"No. "

Double damn.

"Why not? Our companies are based on the same principle!" Yamaka bellowed on the verge of throwing a tantrum.

"My reasons are my own, Mr. Yamaka, but I refuse."

Mr. Yamaka growled viciously towards Seto's lad-back tone. "What? What do you want?! I gave you everything; including my daughter!"

He continued with his outburst. "You'll getting out there boy. The society is a cruel place and will demand because of your position for you to step down and make heirs." He smirked thinking he won.

"So, this was it all about," Seto muttered too lowly for his two clients to hear. He then smirked uncurling his fingers. "I was planning on announcing this after I dealt with my top priorities, but- he paused his smirked widen at their looks. "I suppose since you two have clearly made it apparent that I must- I'm engaged already."

Satura looked as though she was ready to pulverize anyone she deemed a candidate A.K.A. a threat.

Mr. Yamaka her father looked shocked before his features schooled down a little. "And, were this lovely woman?"

Seto's smirked looked as though it was permanent. "You're looking at her."

Haku nearly choked on her tea that she began drinking. "What-What?" Satura practically shrieked. "Some hussy is to be your wife! Outrageous! She's nothing in society-

"Haku be a dear," Seto started enjoying his torment. "And, show these two out of the door."

Satura snorted along with her father. "What's she's going to do call the guards?"

"Not quite."

Haku grabbed them both by the wrist and disappeared; reappearing back in the office with a smile on her face as if she did nothing wrong.

Seto raised a brow.

Later that night while the city lights were still gleaming and people were still out and about, Tea and Yugi's other half was just leaving the museum. They bumped into Mai just as a helicopter hovered over in the sky.

The helicopter's doors opened revealing Seto Kaiba. He had an announcement to make and one that the world would par-take in. "Battle City! You think you have what it takes to participate in the tournament? Then- The rules were simple.

As they flew back to the mansion no one said a word. With Yugi and his friends they decided to participate in the tournament. Meanwhile however; "EEP!"

"Stop screaming you stupid girl!" Mr. Yamaka yelled at his daughter. "And, just run so we can find the damn road that leads to a city!"

Satura glared promising that when she leaved this forest she will find a way to ruin Seto's fiancées life. She muttered darkly, before picking up her pace.

Mokuba jumped out the helicopter grinning broadly. "Big brother! Big sister! CONGRADULATIONS!"

He skipped ahead leaving a wide eyed Seto standing by Haku who blushed lightly.

N'Cut! Long enough for me to up-date is-FINALLY! There isn't enough apologizes, and nothing I say is going to be anything new so, until I up-date again-

For those of you waiting on my other stories I'll up-date them when I get to them, but for now I'm up-dating and working on a story I just recently put up. Cage Bird, ring a bell? It was story that I deleted, but is up once again with different summary and different character focus.
