Whoo-hoo another chapter two days after the last one! This is mainly because I know my last chapter was poorly done and I'm so ready to get out of the tower! This part of the story is soooo...UGH!
Luka: I'm with you this tower sucks!
Cat-san: I'm hopping to get you out of there soon!
Lapis: And I hope I get put in soon!
Cat-san: Well the exam isn't anywhere near over. Sorry Lapis.
Lapis: Aw! If you were updating regularly you might have been out of the exam by now. Or close to it!
Cat-san: We've been over this!
Luka: I'm going to interrupt. Hunter x Hunter isn't owned by 'Cat-san'. But i'm sure she'd jump for joy if it was.
Cat-san: Damn straight! Enjoy!
Re-cap:
The score was 80-20.
"However, you're down to twenty hours." Leroute said.
"But now we have a 2- 1 lead. Now its your turn! What do you want to bet on?" Leorio asked.
'That voice... It sounded familiar... Whats going on...?'
Hunter's Exam, The Tower: Part four
'Am I losing my mind or something...?' Luka thought. 'Ugh...I should just forget about it for now...'
"Well, are you going to tell me what the next bet will be?" Leorio asked. "Or have you lost your nerve because I've figured out you scheme?"
"He's getting cocky..." Luka mumbled.
The shackles on Leroute's wrists unlocked and dropped to the ground. She pulled off her covering to reveal a woman with purple eyes and magenta colored hair put into puffy pigtails.
Leorio's face become perverted and starting laughing to himself.
"That old guy's probably dancing on the inside." Killua said.
"I have a bad feeling about this..." Kurapika said.
"I really hope he doesn't screw this up..." Luka said.
"Let's bet on whether i'm a man or a woman." Leroute said with her hand on her hip.
"Whats wrong? Is there a problem?" She asked.
"N-No." Leorio stuttered. "That's fine, but how will you prove if i'm wrong?"
'As a girl myself I know she's definitely a woman. But i if say something, the others might get suspicious.' Luka thought.
"Oh, right... I'll let you examine every part of my body. Until you're fully satisfied." She said, touching herself seductively.
"Seriously? Her body?" Leorio said, trying to hide his joy.
Luka was thoroughly disgusted, 'What?! What kind of woman would let a man like him touch her?! Wait i know who...'
"Leorio will bet she's a man." Kurapika stated the obvious.
"Uh-huh." Killua said.
Gon looked back, "Huh? Why?"
"Wow. You're really innocent aren't you?" Luka said.
"What do you mean, Luka?" Gon asked.
'Or maybe really dense.' Luka thought.
"Okay, I've decided. I bet ten hours that you're a man!" Leorio said.
'That Idiot! Is he really willing to waste our time just so he can feel up a woman!?' Luka thought, with an appalled look on her face.
"I knew it..." Kurapika said.
"Dirty old man..." Killua grumbled.
"Damn pervert." Luka spat.
"Huh? But how did you know?" Gon asked.
Killua explained the reasoning behind Leorio's joy. "There you have it."
"I get it now." Gon said.
"Okay! Reveal the answer!" Leorio said, excitedly.
"Too bad... I'm a woman." Leroute said.
"R-Really?" Leorio asked.
"Would you like to check?" Leroute asked, seductively.
"B-B-But of course!" Leorio yelled excitedly.
Luke irritably closed her eyes with a annoyed flush in her cheeks, while the dirty deed was done. 'He's an enemy to women everywhere!'
The score was 90-10.
Leorio had the look of a happy man on his face. A happy disgusting man...
Kurapika face palmed, "Just watching hurts."
"He's gonna lose." Tompa said after being silent for the longest.
"Huh?" Gon asked.
"Well look at that the coward speaks." Luka said, folding her arms.
"The opponent has seen through Leorio's strategy. He's been betting conservatively, to minimize damage from either outcome. A gambler who focuses on avoiding a
loss wont ever win. I guess Leorio doesn't have what it takes." Tompa explained.
"My previous assumptions were correct. He doesn't seem to be all that smart except maybe in the medical field." Luka said. "He's not gonna try to take any risks now because he doesn't want to lose. But he sure seemed okay with losing just now. I ought to choke him to sleep for that."
"There's no need for violence now." Kurapika said, sweat dropping a bit.
"Now it's your turn to think of a gamble. What do you want to bet on?" Leroute asked, pulling Leorio from his daydream.
"Leorio has no more room for failure. If he looses the next wager., the overall score will be 2-2. And we'll have fifty fewer to escape this tower." Kurapika said.
"I cant lose the next bet, but I cant think of anything that'd be a surefire win..." Leorio's voice echoed in the arena. "Oh, That's it! We can bet whether i'm a man or a woman. No, that wont work."
"Hey, old man... You're thinking aloud." Killua said.
"What the hell? The fact that an idea like that entered his head, makes me wonder if he has some sort of brain damage..." Luka said.
"I know. Leorio!" Gon called.
"Huh?"
"How about whether or not you're still in your teens?" Gon suggested.
'Oh yeah. He did say that, didn't he? Though that is extremely hard to believe Its the perfect bet.' Luka thought.
"Come on, Gon! I dont look that old... I'm clearly a teenager!" He stupidly replied.
'Idiot! You dont look anything like a teenager!' Luka yelled in her head.
Leroute almost fell from shock, "T-Teenager? But he looks like an old man."
"Right! In that case, we'll use rock-paper-scissors! A bet on who'll win a game of rock-paper-scissors!" Leorio said.
Leroute giggled, "Sure."
"Rock-paper-scissors? Why'd he have to pick such a difficult wager?" Kurapika asked rhetorically.
"What's Rock-paper-scissors?" Luka asked.
Everyone looked at her like she'd grown an extra head, "You... You dont know what Rock-paper-scissors is?" Killua asked
"I think I've heard of it before. But I didn't know it was a game or anything. I dont really play games. At least not normal ones." Luka asked.
"Rock-paper-scissors is a hand game usually played by two people, where players simultaneously form one of three shapes with an outstretched hand. The "rock" beats scissors, the "scissors" beat paper and the "paper" beats rock. If both players throw the same shape, the game is tied." Kurapika explained.
"Oh, I see. Paper covers rock, rock breaks scissors, scissors cut paper." Luka said. 'Humans do weird things.'
"But how is Rock-paper-scissors hard?" Gon asked.
"While rock paper scissors has simple rules, the game itself is quite complex. If you consider the game from a probability standpoint, there's only a one-third chance of
losing. However if your opponent can predict your reasoning and control your reactions, defeat becomes much more likely." Kurapika explained again.
"In other words, simple minded Leorio will be at a disadvantage." Killua said, summing it up.
"I see." Gon said.
"Let's see, then. I put eighty hours on my victory." Leroute said.
"E-Eighty hours?" Leorio said, visibly shocked.
"Is something wrong? I'm free to bet as much as I want." She said.
"W-Well, that's true." He said.
"He's stuttering. That's a bad sign." Luka said
"And if you lose, I can still only take ten from you. Don't worry." Leroute reassured.
"Alright I've made my decision." Leorio said. Leroute walked towards him and giggled.
"W-What?"
"Is obvious what you'll use. I can read minds." She said.
"Liar!" Leorio said, point his finger to her face. "You're bluffing wont scare me!"
"You'll believe me soon enough." she said, her expression unchanged.
"Leorio will use rock." Kurapika predicted.
"Lets do this!" Leroute said, readying her fist.
"Rock-paper-scissors!"
Both Leroute and Leorio chose rock.
"You were right. Good guess." Gon said.
"Nervous people unconsciously avoid any action that involves opening up. In other words, by making Leorio uncomfortable, she ensures that he's less likely to use paper.
"So if she sticks with rock, she's guaranteed a win or draw." Killua said.
"So this 'Simple hand game' is actually a mind game, You win by knowing what the other person will probably use and counteracting that movement." Luka said.
"Now I see." Gon said.
"Since we both used rock, wasn't that a draw?" Leorio asked.
"What of it?" Leroute asked.
"So you were lying about being able to read my mind!" he said, pointing again. "If you could you'd have won. Right."
Leroute giggled again, "Whats so funny?" Leorio asked.
"I deliberately gave you that tie." She replied.
"Stop lying!"
"Did you forget? We're trying to stall you here. If i choose to, I could force an indefinite series of draws... But that wouldn't be any fun. So i'll end this with the next turn. Well what will you use next? Think hard. Come on." She said.
"Damn." Leorio said, gripping his head.
"Worrying, fretting. When someone looses confidence, they crave reassurance. That makes him more likely to either use the same hand, or, in an effort to regain his confidence, use a stronger one then in the previous round." Kurapika said.
"Meaning that she wants Leorio to choose either rock or paper." Killua simplified.
"So by using paper she's less likely to lose, If at all." Luka said.
"Then Leorio just needs to stay a step ahead!" Gon said.
"Well, if he could calm down, that might work." Kurapika said.
Luka folded her arms, "He's panicking so much, that he cant figure out her tricks. He cant even think anything through without doubting it, even if its clearly a lie."
Gon cupped his hands over his mouth, "Leorio!" He shouted.
"What it it?"
"Hey, you'll win if you go with scissors next!" Gon said.
"What? Scissors?" Leorio asked.
"Go ahead and try." Leroute laughed.
"Man, I have no idea what to think!" Leorio yelled, gripping his head with his hands.
"Here we go!" Leroute suddenly started the Rock-paper-scissor 'match'. "Here..."
"Comes the..."
"Draw!" Leorio had Rock, Leroute had paper.
The score was 100-0. Leorio had lost.
Leroute put her arms up and laughed in glee, "I win!"
"Rock-paper-scissors really is complicated." Gon said, thoughtfully.
Luka face palmed, "Even though I saw this coming i'm still mildly surprised."
"Now the score is 2-2." Killua said.
"Worse yet, we have to give up the fifty hours he lost." Kurapika said,
"Sorry. I was pretty confident in my rock-paper-scissors ability." Leorio said, when he walked back to the platform.
"Pretty pathetic showing, then." Tompa said.
"What was that?!" Leorio yelled, before walking away. "Well, I cant argue with you on this one."
"So... who's going next?" Kurapika asked.
"I am." Luka said stepping forward.
"You?" Leorio asked.
"Are you against it?" Luka asked. "I couldn't do any worse than you."
Leorio looked away, "Fine."
Luka and the prisoner moved to the arena. The shackles fell and the prisoner pulled of the covering to reveal a young man with pale skin and dark red hair. He let out a
creepy chuckle, "My name is Rilloh... Its a pleasure..." Rilloh, Serving a 145-year sentence for multiple homicide, Rape, and kidnapping.
Luka was put off by this man, "I'm Luka."
He laughed again, "I never thought i'd be fighting a child... I guess not having any weapons wont be so bad..."
"Hey, dont underestimate me!" Luka yelled. She hated when people underestimated her.
He laughed once again, "Of course... Well, enough time wasting. The game has no name. We must fight until the other begs for them to stop."
Luka smirked, "Oh, really?"
"Are you really to begin?" Rilloh asked.
"Sure."
Luka dashed towards Rilloh, and punched him in the stomach as hard as she could, but a second before he went flying back he placed his hand on her developing chest. Luka put a hand on her chest and flushed red like a tomato. She wanted to scream but she knew the others would wonder why. Rilloh lie on the floor for a bit before laughing with a creepy grin on his flushed face. "Yes... Just as thought... Heh... You're a female..."
Luka was speechless "E-Eh?"
DUN DUN DUN! Luka's gender had been revealed! What will the others say? Why did Rilloh only laugh when Luka punched him? Stay tuned for the next chapter of 'Love bites!'.
