Heyy! Sorry for the last chapter. I'm glad the writers block left the building! Yay! That means more updates and better chapters. This chapter is so far my favorite, and I hope you guys like it soon. This is back in Katara's POV. Did you guys like Sydney's POV? I sure did.

Disclaimer: Rick Riordan does not go on fanfiction. 'Nuff said.

Plz review! I mean like if you don't review I will... be very angry with you!

Chapter Nine

Quite Odd

I had been here for three days as far as I could tell. I mean there was no computer calling out saying in its robotic voice that it was eight o' clock. Nor was there any sun to "sundial" off of.

It's not like I was completely miserable down here. I had the entertainment of bugs crawling all over me, and really gross food brought by Pablo, and not to mention, I got to think of ways to get the heck out of here.

So, I guess you could say I was miserable with a capital 'M'.

But I learned a few things, don't judge people (or giant evil snakes) from a first glance. Pablo was actually pretty nice.

He told me about his wife, Modre, and his mother, Mamasito. They were all forced to join my mother, along with their whole breed, the brevis drakons. The brevis were small drakons that were very kind and approachable, as far as Pablo told me. I really didn't engage in his conversations. It was very weird hearing a snake talk though.

When my daily meal was brought on the third day, Pablo told me a secret. He knew how to get me out of here.

I was going to be free!

The plan worked like this, Pablo and his gang of brevis drakons would distract the Golem guards, and then I would travel to Tantalus' cave to send an Iris message to camp and then Pablo would supply me with a rope. I had no idea what the rope was for, but it might come in handy. That or I'll play a giant game or tug a war with all the monsters down here.

After the plan was laid out to me, I spoke, "Doesn't seem like this plan will work. I mean, how do you escape the worst prison with a rope and a band of drakons. Won't there be alarms or something you see in those old cops movies?"

Pablo shook his snake-ish head. "No. It will work. It isss foolproof. Your mother created thisss earth and thisss prison. You have the power to control thisss land and escape it." Pablo said, sternly. Wow. Defensive snake alert.

"I will use my power when I want to. I am not your servant. You don't even know anything about me!" I exclaimed.

"I know more than you think. A word of warning: Aphrodite is messsing with you. Do not fall into her trap. She doesss not care about the war." Pablo said. His voice started to fade and the cavern turned completely dark and I was left alone. My handcuffs broke off and I grabbed the rope that mysteriously appeared out of no where. I ran for it.

I didn't want to see this place ever again.

I ran toward what I thought was the way out until I found I didn't know where to go. It was like Pablo wanted for me to get lost. What was he trying to do? Kill me?

"Na pari i eychi!" Woah. I must have gotten something from Sydney's Greek lessons. Considering that she had a very colorful vocabulary, both in English, and Greek.

Thinking about Sydney made a whole bunch of feelings erupt inside of me. How would my friends react when they saw that I came back? I probably never will come back. I'll be stuck in this place forever.

I couldn't help it. I just sat down and started crying my eyes out. The sound of it echoed through the cave and contributed to the screams.

I sat there for what felt like hours after my tears dried up. I didn't know what to do. Pablo's plan seemed pretty stupid to me. How was I supposed to find Tantalus' cave anyway? Find a computer and Google it?

And what good would a stupid rope do anyway? I stood up and kept walking. Right away I felt a familiar tug in my gut and I knew that trouble would come.

The cave's walls started to tremble and I heard someone scream, but that could have been me. I started running and I was out of breath in five seconds flat. I guess that's what you get for eating nothing but gross Underworld food.

I looked behind me and the cave wall was falling down as I ran. I couldn't escape the cave's vicious collapsing walls and my legs gave way. I fell to the ground with my arms over my head.

The cave fell over me and I was gone.

!o7o!

I woke up from a very strange dream. It involved falling and collapsing caves. Also something about Tartarus. I just wanted a few more hours of sleep without any creepy dreams interrupting my dream about ice cream. No one interrupts mint chocolate chip.

I sat up and realized I wasn't even sitting in the first place. I was falling at a rate that no one could survive at, and it didn't look like I was going to hit rock bottom anytime soon.

Panic hit me and I screamed so loud I thought I would go deaf. There was no bottom to this cave! I was going to be stuck here forever!

Now I really was freaked out. The dream wasn't a dream.

It was a nightmare.

Anyway, I got important news! I'm getting braces tomorrow! But thats not the important news, it is that owlreader, is going to Betaread the first chapter so it doesn't suck! Be sure to check it out when it gets uploaded. Which should be soon. I'll tell you when it goes up.
