Storm had risen before the sun. The wine from the night before did aid in her finding some sleep but she only captured a few hours of rest with very little relaxation. "Title your chin down a bit," Jean commanded, as she starting to apply sable eyeliner to Ororo. She did as she was told, gnawing on her bottom lip as she did. Rogue stood behind her, wrapping Storm's hair around the heated curling iron. It was nearly surreal if it wasn't so nerve wrecking. She was only moments away walking down the aisle and becoming Logan's bride.

A knock on the door attempted to interrupt the women's progress. "Buzz off! Ain't no one seein' the bride til the weddin'!" Rogue hollered. "Perhaps you can make an exception for me," the gentle voice on the other side replied. It was The Professor. Storm leaped up, nearly marring her make up and causing Rogue to burn a fingertip. "Owww!" she cried out, sticking it in her mouth hoping to sooth the pain.

Storm stepped into the hallway in her sage, satin bathrobe, half of her hair curled. Storm bent down to hug her wheel chaired bound adoptive father. She was instantly comforted by his presence. "This is for you my child," he told her as he handed her an envelope. She peered at the aging professor with bemused eyes. "Go on, read it," he urged, already knowing what was written. She tore into the envelope and began to read the note inside.

Stormy,

I am very sorry I cannot be with you on your special day. I know how much it must mean to you but Remy just couldn't do it. Seeing you walk down the aisle to Logan waiting there for you was too much for me to handle. You're my best friend chere and I love you but I'm just not strong enough. I'm taking off for a while, maybe back to Louisiana. Just gotta clear my head. I wish you the best of luck.

L'Amour Toujours,

Remy E. LeBeau

Ororo folded the white paper torn from a marble notebook. Her eyes tightened, straining to hold back tears that were combating to be released, but she refused to let stress interfere on this day. Rogue peeked her head out of the loft. "C'mon Storm. We ain't done withcha yet," she reminded. * "He is deeply regretful, but it is unbearable for him to attend. He needs to heal," * he spoke to her through telepathy. Storm nodded somberly, comprehending. Charles reached out for her hand, giving it a light squeeze.

"I will see you outside my child." He departed with a smile.

"What was all that 'bout?" Rogue asked as Storm returned to the chair she was previously sitting in as she proceeded to curl her hair once more. "Nothing, just wanted to wish me luck," Storm fibbed, shifting uncomfortably in her seat.

Logan stood in front of the greenhouse uncomfortably, anxiously at the end of the makeshift alter. He had very little to do with the planning of the wedding. If it were up to him they would've gotten hitched in Vegas with an imposter Elvis presiding over the nuptials. Instead he was now pulling the black bow tie around his collar; sure he resembled a foolish penguin. The sun had not quite reached its peak in the horizon. Guests were scurrying to their seats when he noticed Gambit's was empty. Good. Maybe now I won't hafta gut him if I catch 'im fer checkin' out my wife…. Wife. My wife. The phrase seemed foreign but inviting. Where the hell is the elf? Full-fledged panic was starting to seep through him at Kurt's absence. The blue man then appeared before him, navy smoke and the smell of brimstone bellowed around him in his traditional earth toned monk cloak. "Startin' to think ya wouldn't make it," Wolverine confessed. Clasping his shoulder, Kurt smiled. His pointed fangs gleamed but his kind demeanor shone through. He consoled through his thick Bavarian accent, "Nein mein freund. It is an honor to help in your union vith Ms. Monroe." Music began to play from an iHome. His head snapped to the other end of the aisle where he saw his bride.

With her left hand holding The Professor's and the right holding a small bouquet of lilacs Ororo appeared to be gliding towards him. Her hair, which ended in silky corkscrew at her mid back, was pulled back by rhinestone barrettes to reveal her face. Minimal makeup adorned cocoa skin. Liquid coal outlined her almond shaped eyes. Mascara applied lashes seemed like they could reach the heavens. A dewy rose tint decorated her lips that were stretched out into the widest smile she'd ever worn. A single beaded strap of ivory flowed to a bodice that accentuated her shape before ending at mid calves. She was a mythological goddess come to life. His goddess. All gitters ceased once he saw his goddess.

Ororo and Professor Xavier reached the end of the aisle. He gave a squeeze to her hand a pat on Logan's arm before moving aside. There she stood before him. Slicked back deep brown hair and cleanly shave face, hazel eyes shinning, Ororo had never seen before Logan so fresh. So dashing, so handsome. A whimper resonated through the crowd. They didn't need to look to know it was Rogue. She was always the hopeless romantic.

"Brother and sisters, ve are gathered here today to bear vitness to the union of Logan Hewlet and Ororo Monroe," Kurt presided as the couple faced him, "May the heavenly Father strengthen and bless their bond from this day on for all of eternity. I vas told you have our own vows. Logan you vill share first."

He attempted to clear his throat of the lump of cement that settled there but to no avail. He was never one to be well with words but he wanted to express how much this moment meant to him, how much she meant to him. He focused solely on the beautiful woman that stood before him in her bridal gown and preceded to speak the words that his heart told him to, "I have done somethings that people can't look past. But you've accepted me for everything I am and am not. You took a damaged man and made him whole again with the love and kindness you've shown me. I thank you for that" He paused, his throat growing tight. A lone tear escaped, slithered down Ororo's cheek though her lips remained curled into a smile. Logan continued, "I love you for everything you have done for me, and everything you are. I am luck to have you in my life and luckier to spend the rest of it with you. I swear to you to become a better man and always appreciate you. I love you, Ororo." His burly chest heaved a sigh with a smile, relieved to have set free the words that were trapped in his heart. "And now for your vows, Ororo," Kurt prompted.

"My dearest Logan," her voice is hollow and words soft as if she was praying, "You have always been a man of honor. But you have also shown me you are warm, kind, loving and thoughtful, sides of you others may not have seen." A light laughter grew in the audience. Logan even grinned. "Thank you for sharing it with me. I promise to cherish you, become a good wife and a best friend. My love for you will only deepen and nothing will be able to diminish it."

"The rings you possess symbolize the eternal indestructible bond that vill never be broken. Logan place the ring on Ororo's finger," Kurt ordered.

Logan pulled the tiny ring out of right coat pocket. Ororo stuck out her left hand, fingers spread. With a minuscule twist he placed the ring on her third finger. It was a simple rose gold band with an elegant pearl mounted in the middle, which was engraved to read I am his in the inner band.

It was then Ororo's turn to place his ring on his stubby finger. It was a thicker, broader band that in turn read I am hers.

"Vith the powers invested to me by the state of New York and the grace of God I now pronounce you husband and vife. You may now kiss your bride."

Logan wrapped his arms around his now wife, bringing her into him. Their kiss was one with passion, giggles from giddiness, and mostly love. The tears Ororo had suppressed during the ceremony began to crawl freely down her face. Logan took her face into his hands and thumbed away her tears then pressed his lips to her forehead. They held on the moment knowing it would be the beginning of forever.
