A/N:Probably going to start putting these in every chapter now. Just FYI. So, I'm having tons of fun writing this, but I'm not getting a lot of feedback, so I thought (bad idea, right?) that I'd ask questions. Here goes: What sex should the baby be? Should Puck and Rachel get together quickly or should they hold off for a bit? What do you think? Any advice?
She fidgeted with her thumbs as Quinn prepared a few cups of coffee. Puck was upstairs, getting him and Beth ready to go; they traded days around. Monday and Tuesday were Rachel's days to take care of her, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were Puck's, and Saturday and Sunday were Quinn's because she had morning practice for Cheerios.
They took shifts at night too, but they varied depending on activities and days. Puck usually ended up sleeping there to help out, so they pooled their money and bought a trundle bed, under which they kept the 'community' desk that was only ever used by Rachel.
"Rachel." Quinn waved a steaming cup under her nose. "Come on, wake up. My practice starts in 10 minutes and you've been zoned out for at least that long."
Rachel stared at her blankly, taking and sipping on the coffee with a pleased sigh.
"Oh, hello girls." Mrs. Fabray walked into the room and helped herself to a large cup of coffee.
This was her moment. Rachel stepped forward, deciding not to dilly-dally. She and Noah had decided that she should be the one to tell Quinn's mom about the baby. (Fine. She lost the coin toss.)
"Mrs. Fabray, I need to tell you something." Her voice didn't sound nearly as confident as it did in her head. "I'm pregnant."
The woman looked shocked for a moment. "Hmm. And, who is the father, may I ask?"
She was quiet. "Noah."
Rachel saw Quinn in the corner of her eye as she chugged the rest of her coffee, kissed her mother on the cheek, and headed out to practice.
"Can't say I'm all that surprised." She must have seen the worried and shocked expression on Rachel's face because she laughed. "Don't you worry dear, you can still stay here of course. I'll be having a talk with Puck about contraception, however."
"Just Noah?" Rachel was in shock. Quinn's mom, somebody that she had met for the first time only a few days ago, was taking her in when her own dads had kicked her out for less.
"Do you need a talk about contraceptives too, dear?" Mrs. Fabray raised an eyebrow and laughed when Rachel shook her head.
"Thank you Mrs. Fabray.
"Rachel, you really don't need to call me that, it won't be valid for much longer."
"What would you prefer?"
"I don't care. You can call me Judy, if you don't mind."
"Okay, I'll do that. Thank you so much Judy. I have to go get ready for school, but I'll see you later."
Rachel rushed off upstairs and nearly squealed with joy when she bumped into Noah.
"It's fine, she's not kicking me out, it's fine!"
"Awesome."
"It is, isn't it." Rachel did a little twirl that had Beth, who was sitting in Noah's arms, giggling. She pecked each of them on the cheek and went to change out of her pajamas, coffee still in hand.
She spend a healthy amount of time choosing her outfit for the day; it was hot so she skipped the knee shorts and borrowed one of Quinn's tank tops. Paired with one of her skirts, Rachel actually looked like a normal teenage girl.
"Noah, we've got to get there early. I want to explain everything that's changed to Mr. Schue, and see if he'll be on our side during Glee today. I have the strangest feeling that there are going to have to be sides."
"Relax Berry. We'll be there in-" He stopped. Puck was standing in the doorway sans baby, holding his own steaming mug.
"What is it?" She smoothed her skirt subconsciously and immediately regretted her choice of not wearing her knee socks and cardigan. Setting her cup on the dresser, Rachel dug through the drawers, looking for one or both of her security items.
"You look hot." Noah smirked and skated over to her, setting his mug next to hers and tugging her arm so that she stood up.
"Noah Puckerman, ever the romantic." She crossed her arms and tapped her foot, leaning against the dresser. Rachel was breaking her own rules, but she didn't care. She was tired. Leaning was a good idea.
"From what I remember from our too-brief relationship last year, you don't like it too romantic. You hate cheesy." He moved forward and pecked her lips, moving his head swiftly to her neck and sucking. Puck slid his hands from where they were hanging at his sides to where they were pressing the dresser on either side of her hips, making sure to drag his fingertips along as much of her legs as possible. He paused and tilted so that he could whisper in her ear. "You like it a bit dirtier, a bit more fun." Then he started nibbling on the same spot where he had been sucking.
"Noah." Her voice cracked when he teased her. "We have to get to school. I don't-ah- want to be late."
"Nerd." He scoffed but pulled back, then gazed at her neck admiringly.
"Noah Puckerman what did you do." She spun around, smacking him with her hair. "A hickey!"
"Everyone knows you're mine now."
"There's a flaw in that plan."
"I can't think of one."
"Anyone could have given me this."
"Nope. Hickeys on the neck are my signiture babe. Everyone will know."
"I'm mad at you."
"You didn't object!"
"I didn't know what you were doing!"
"But you liked it." And with that, he sauntered out of the room, leaving a fuming pregnant girl with a hickey on her neck alone and more than a little turned on.
"Puckerman!"
