Here's the next chapter. I really hope you've been enjoying it so far :)
Santana woke up to the sound of the alarm on her phone going off. She turned her head to the right and saw a peacefully sleeping Brittany. Waking up next to the blonde made her smile. It had been a long time since this had happened. Santana brought her left hand up to Brittany's face to push blonde strands away from her eyes. God, she's beautiful. Santana decided to get up and go eat something when she heard her stomach start to grumble very loudly. She didn't want to wake Brittany up, plus she had to get to work anyway.
When she walked into the kitchen, she saw that Blaine and Sam were talking animatedly.
Blaine looked up when he heard footsteps. "Oh, hey Santana. How did you sleep?"
Santana walked over to the fridge to get eggs. Not facing him, she said, "I slept okay. How about you guys? It must've been hard to sleep on the couch, Sam."
Sam was surprised that the Latina even acknowledged his presence. He honestly thought she hated him. "Uh, it was okay. I've slept on worse."
Santana nodded her head, not really paying attention to what he was saying. She turned to the stove and began making her eggs. "Did you guys eat already? I can make you something if you want."
"No it's okay. We had some cereal. We didn't really know what to eat because of all of Rachel's vegan food," Blaine said.
Santana finished cooking her eggs, grabbed a plate, and went to sit down across from the two boys.
"Well, I'm gonna go back to sleep. See you guys later," Blaine said as he got up.
After he left, it was just Sam and Santana, sitting in awkward silence. Santana tried her best to ignore the big mouthed blonde, but he was making it very hard because of his staring.
"Santan-"
"Okay, no. I know what you're trying to do, Lipsy McChapstick, and it's going to stop now, before you even do anything. Okay?"
"Why should I listen to you? You're the one that broke her heart and just left her there for me take care of. I haven't seen you come back and try to amend things."
Santana was beyond annoyed now. "Yes. I. Did! Were you not paying attention when I visited you guys for Diva Week? We even battled it out through song! After that, I believe your exact words were, 'She's with me now and you know that's the best thing for her. Just let it go.' How the fuck do you expect me to just 'let it go'?"
"That's not what I meant. I just wanted you to leave it alone. Let me have a chance with her."
"No!" Both Santana and Sam hadn't noticed that Brittany was standing around the corner, listening in to their conversation.
"This time I am not giving up that easily. I tried so hard to just 'let it go', but then I realized, that's not possible at all. Do you know how old I was when I finally realized I was in love with her? I was fifteen. I had to fight a war with myself for the longest time because I was scared. I was so scared of what everyone else was gonna think. I tried so hard to deny my feelings for her, but nothing worked. I was terrified because not only did I have feelings for a girl, but I had feelings for my best friend. I did whatever I could to drive these feelings away. I even slept with random guys to see if they would just disappear. Nothing. Worked. And then, when she found out that I had feelings for her, I made it even worse. I set rules for the things that we could and couldn't do. I made us both miserable for the longest time. And when you told me to just 'let it go', and I said 'never', I didn't say that just to be a stubborn bitch. I just can't let her go. I could never let go of Brittany because my feelings for her are so, so big and strong. Our love is true love. I'm so tired of living a life without her, I can't even imagine living my whole entire life without her. My love for her will last forever, and you're just going to have to accept that."
Sam was shocked. He wasn't expecting for the Latina to come on that strong. Before he could say anything though, Brittany came out from hiding.
Santana's back was facing Brittany so she didn't see her when she walked in. "Did you really mean all of that, San?"
The sound of Brittany's voice startled Santana at first, but she quickly composed herself before getting up and turning around to face the blonde. "Of course I did. I love you so much Brittany," Santana said, softly.
"I love you too." Brittany brought her hands around Santana's waist and pulled her into a hug. The Latina pulled away slightly and was about to place a kiss on the blondes lips, but Sam decided to ruin the loving moment.
"So you're just going to get back with her? I thought you were better than that Brittany. Why would you go back to someone who will just break your heart again?" Sam was angry. He really wanted another chance with Brittany.
Brittany pulled away completely from Santana and walked up to the table. "Sam, I love Santana. I always have, and I always will. Yes, she broke my heart, but it wasn't intentional. She just thought she was doing the right thing."
"But what if she breaks your heart again?"
Santana walked forward to stand behind Brittany, wrapping her arms around the blonde's waist and placing her hands on her stomach, holding her from behind. "I won't ever do that again." She turned her head to the side slightly so that she could face Brittany. "I promise you, I will never, ever hurt you again."
Brittany smiled at her and Santana pulled her even closer.
Sam just stared at them and sighed in defeat. "Fine. You two can be together, for now, but you better watch your back, Lopez."
Santana's head snapped up and she pulled away from the blonde completely, stepping towards the boy. "Did you just threaten me? I am gonna go all Lima Heights on your sorry ass. Right. Now."
Just as the fiery Latina was about to beat him, Brittany quickly brought her hand up to Santana's arm. "Santana, don't."
Santana turned her head and looked at her like she was crazy. "But he just-"
"He's not worth it," Brittany simply replied.
Santana let out a frustrated sigh, then turned back to look at Sam. "Fine. You got lucky this time, Trouty Mouth. Now please leave, before I decide to change my mind."
Sam left as quickly as he could. If he wasn't scared of Santana before, he was terrified now.
Santana turned around to fully face Brittany. "I'm sorry, but I just couldn't deal wit-"
Brittany pulled Santana into a crushing hug, not letting the Latina finish her sentence. "I love you so much."
Santana smiled and hugged the blonde back, bringing them even closer together. "I love you too."
Both girls pulled away, but not completely. Santana lifted her arms up to place her hands around the blonde's neck, while Brittany placed her hands on the shorter girls hips.
"I missed you," Santana whispered as she stared into Brittany's clear blue eyes.
All Brittany did was smile before she captured Santana's lips in a kiss. It was sweet and innocent at first, but then after a couple of minutes, Brittany couldn't take it anymore. She swiped her tongue along Santana's lower lip, begging for entrance. Santana parted her lips, granting Brittany access. The Latina let out a small moan when she felt her tongue collide with the blonde's. It had been a very long time since they had kissed like this.
Brittany brought her hands up, placing them at the hem of Santana's tank top. She let her hands wander up inside her shirt. Brittany's hands remained there on Santana's stomach, lightly tickling her.
Santana pulled her lips away and smiled. "Stop. That tickles," she said, giggling.
Brittany just gave her a devilish smirk. She brought her hands up even higher, placing them just below Santana's bra.
"Britt, I have to get ready for work," Santana breathed out.
Brittany just whined. "But I've missed you," she said as she put her hands over the bra, squeezing lightly. She brought her lips to the base of Santana's neck and left a kiss there. Brittany slowly licked the girls skin from the spot where she kissed her, all the way up to the bottom of her ear.
"Mm, God Britt. Please." Santana couldn't really concentrate anymore. All she could focus on was where Brittany's hands and mouth were.
Brittany wasn't really listening to her. She snaked her hands around to Santana's back, working to unclasp the undergarment, but froze when she saw Rachel walk in.
"Hey, Santana? Shouldn't you be at- OMYGOD! I'm sorry I'll just um- bye." Rachel turned back around and went back to her room.
The two girls pulled away and laughed. Santana looked down at her feet. She had a flushed look on her face. "Um, I better go get ready," said the Latina.
"Aw…okay," Brittany replied. Neither of them moved from where they were standing. They just stayed there, staring in to each other's eyes, holding each other, smiling.
"You better go," Brittany whispered.
"Yea. Okay." Santana nodded her head and pulled away from Brittany reluctantly.
After Santana left to go get dressed, Rachel came back into the kitchen. Brittany was picking up the dishes from the table when she noticed the short brunette.
"So…I see things have worked out between you two. Have you asked her about the thing yet?" Rachel moved to stand next to Brittany, her back against the counter with her elbows resting on the top behind her. She was so happy that Brittany had decided to trust her with something so special.
Brittany put the dishes in the sink and began to wash them. She had a big smile on her face. Rachel had reminded her of their conversation from yesterday. "No, I don't think it's time yet."
"But why not? What if you don't get another chance?" Rachel said in a whiny tone. She wanted it to happen now.
"I have all the time in the world to ask her. Right now, I just wanna focus on our relationship. I don't even know if this means that we're together again. I'm just glad that I get to be here with her."
"God, you two were always such saps when it came to your relationship. It's always so dramatic."
Brittany put the dishes away and turned to face Rachel. "Says the person who always makes a big deal out of everything."
Rachel just laughed. "Whatever. I'm just saying, you should do it sometime soon."
Brittany smiled. "Yea, I know."
Santana had finished getting dressed a few seconds ago and she had walked in on the last part of the conversation. What does she wanna ask me? Is it bad? Does she even want to get back together? What am I thinking? Of course she does. Why else would she have practically jumped me in the kitchen? It's probably not that important.
Santana walked into the kitchen and went straight to Brittany to place a small kiss on her cheek. "Love you."
Brittany smiled. "Love you too. I'll see you later."
"Ugh…Why can't you just come with me?" Santana asked as they both walked to the door.
"You know I can't. I would be really bored if I went. Plus, you're gonna have to work the whole time."
"Ugh...fine. But when I get home, I'm gonna spend as much time as I can with you," the Latina said as she walked out the door.
"Mmkay." Brittany said with a smile. "Bye."
"Bye," Santana replied.
Brittany closed the door and turned around, backing up to lean against it.
"You should really ask her," Rachel said as she headed to the couch.
"I will…soon." Brittany smiled and went to go sit on the couch with Rachel. Both girls sat there the whole day, marathoning One Tree Hill at Brittany's request. This is turning out to be really good, Brittany thought to herself.
