Naruto awoke from his dreamless state almost a week after his Biju had gone biserk on the rooftops of Suna. He had been transported to the hospital placed in the hands of the Kazekages' very own medics. They had him wrapped head to toe in spotless, white bandages, an I.V. dripping blood and a thick, clear liquid into his arm. The blue eye's were fuzzy, as the afternoon the sun finally shone on them. Thick with the crust of unuse and almost glued together, small crumbs sticking to the light eyelashes as they fluttered open. The redhead- Gaara- was the first thing that came into focus. Worried sea-foam eye's peering curiously down at him as he chewed lightly at his pale, bottom lip. Naruto's stomach clenched uncomfortably as he blinked up at the other male. The oval face slid out of view and the first sounds registered in the room;
"He is awake, Haruno." Naruto recognized the voice of Gaara, slightly more commanding than usual- harsh. The familiar annoyed, guttural noise sounded from the pink haired ninja as she made her way to the bed. Her green eyes scanned over him slowly as she tapped her pencil against the clipboard she held. Her hair was tied up, and she was wearing one of the long, white jackets' of a doctor.
"He should be fine with another day of bed rest- but keep him from moving too much. Maybe the two of you-" She cleared her throat and looked away from Naruto before continuing;
"Three of you, should stay together for that duration..."
Naruto turned his head towards Gaara, noticing the look on his face and made a groaning noise before the other could utter whatever offence that was forming on his tongue.
"Ugh, Gaara?" His voice was gravelly and dry, making him cough before he could even finish his sentence. The redhead made his way over to the bed, handing Naruto a small paper cup of water. Naruto nodded in thanks and sipped some before finishing;
"Did you find out who attacked me?" He muttered quietly. Gaara shook his head, turning away with a pensive look on his face.
"No... but I did an extensive search of the guards, there is no way an outsider made their way in." The browless frown deepened; "Though we did find some of the attackers chakra on your... person." He muttered, "I've sent Kankuro and a team of trackers to see what they can find. They left two days ago."
Naruto nodded along, sipping his water as he observed the other thinking. After a moment of silence, a rustling sound caught the blondes attention and he leaned forward. A tuft of red hair was sticking out of Gaara's back. He frowned;
"Gaara, is Nara on your back?"
The leader turned to him, pulled from his thoughts. He stared a moment before nodding and retrieving the squirming child from the sling. Naruto plucked the boy from the pale arms and held him close to his chest, a smile forming on his face. He bounced Nara, reveling in the happy gurgling before pausing and looking up to Gaara, who was again lost in thought. Naruto turned his attention to Sakura, instead, watching as she cleaned up some medicinal supplies and packed them into a small bag.
"Sakura?" He called hoarsely. She turned toward him, expectant.
"Wasn't Nara burnt too? He was in my arms when the... fox went berserk." He murmured, examining the baby's pudgy middle. She smiled softly and placed herself on the bed near Naruto's knees;
"No, this little guys fine." She cooed softly, poking the small redheads nose. Nara's face flattened into mask of almost annoyance as he stared blankly at her. Naruto suppressed a laugh- he looked just like Gaara. Sakura smiled as well, setting her hand down on the bed.
"It seems that his chakra... flared, I suppose, in reaction to the biiju. It's what kept you stable enough not to fully change- he was filtering it."
Naruto's eyes widen.
"Filtering? I don't understand."
The soft features on the womans face hardened in a thoughtful expression.
"It's strange, I did some tests- Gaara has similar properties from housing the Shukaku, I assume. They can take and return chakra from their bodies, like with the sand, but filter it as well. That's the reaction when he touched you, he filtered the extra chakra in an instant, allowing you to reseal the monster with it's own power."
Naruto blinked a few times, processing this information, as Sakura pushed herself off the bed.
"Since you heal so fast, your burns are already gone, but the fatigue is still there." She rips a piece of paper off her clipboard. "Take a few days off and head here, I saw it on my way over."
Naruto took the paper from the outstretched hand and read the contents. It was an address for a hot springs and spa, located outside the village.
"If someone's after you, it might be good to get out of the village, away from innocent people." She muttered, turning with a smile as she left the room.

"What did she give you?" Gaara asked slowly, reaching out for the paper. Naruto set it in his hand and pulled Nara closer, giving the boy a giant, goofy smile. The redhead looked the paper over then set it down on the table next to the bed. There was a moment of silence as blue eyes met green before Gaara spoke;
"If you wish to go, I will accompany you."
