Yami, was boiling with rage. He had been the one who took the photo of Kaiba and Tea the other night. A strange man came to Yami, promising a way to get Tea back and have his revenge on Kaiba. All he had to do, was spy on them for a while and gather bits and pieces of information. His newest information he needed was a video tape found in the basement of the Kaiba Mansion.
A few hours later, Mokuba and Rini made it home and found Tea and Seto sleep on the couch. The News was on TV currently playing in the background and several business papers were scattered across the table. Mokuba spotted Seto and Tea's daily planner and flipped through until he got to tomorrow's date. He wrote in the planner, 'Dinner at Juliette Gourmet 5:00.' He whispered quietly to Rini, "This is just too easy."
They snuck out the room and Mokuba inquired, "I think we should sneak over there shortly after they leave here, just to see how things are going. You want me to ask Seto if you could spend the night tomorrow when he wakes up."
"Of course," Rini replied.
Tea was the first to wake up, she didn't want to disturb Seto so she gently got up and went to Mokuba's room. Mokuba and Rini were sitting on the bed coloring. I knocked on the door and said, "Rini sweetie, it is time to go."
Mokuba looked up and asked, "Why are you leaving? We have plenty of space, you could stay another night."
She shook her head and replied, "I appreciate the offer Mokuba, but we need to get home. Thanks to the burglars, I have a lot of clean up to do."
Mokuba looked sad but nodded and asked, "Can Rini at least spend the night tomorrow? There'ssss uhhh ummm cartoon marathon we want to watch on TV."
Tea shrugged and replied, "As long as it is ok with your big brother, I have no problem with it."
Rini then picked up her school bag and followed Tea out the door. Mokuba texted one of the chaufers to drive them home.
When Tea arrived at the apartment. She suddenly felt a wave of fear wash over her again. Never had her privacy felt so violated, as it did with the break in. She quickly unlocked the door and they entered the small apartment. Rini sat down on the now shredded couch and started to work on some homework while Tea started to sweep the floor.
A man in a dark room sat quietly in front of a grand fireplace. A knock sounded on the door and a tall tricolored haired individual walked in. "What did you find out Yami?" The man asked.
He handed him two photographs. One of them was a picture of them sleeping on the couch together the other was a zoomed in photo of a planner. "So, they are having dinner tomorrow night. That would be a good time to start phase two of the plan. Are you ready to get your girlfriend back?" The man in the dark asked.
"More than you could ever imagine." Yami replied honestly.
The dark man chuckled and asked, "Did you get the tape?" Yami nodded and handed it over. The man in the dark held it up and said, "This will be the key to your revenge. If there is anything Seto hates, it is to feel vulnerable and this tape will bring back many fears. We just have to be sure to make this as public as possible." Yami bowed and replied, "I will be sure to inform you of his next public event."
Seto was up late working that night, he was about to turn in when he heard a knock on the door. "Come in Mokuba!" he called out.
Mokuba entered and said, "Big brother, I have something I want to ask you."
"Yes Mokuba. What do you need?" Seto said as he leaned back in his chair.
Mokuba continued, "Well, I know you have been looking for a way to strengthen your public image… and I have an idea." Seto raised his eyebrow in surprise but listened. "You see, Ishizu is looking to have a charity ball to raise money for the museum. However, the museum is too small. So I was wondering if you would consider holding the ball here. Diplomats would come from all over the place for a chance to meet you which would raise money for the museum and it could open some doors for the company."
Seto thought about it and replied, "As much as I hate having to listen to Ishizu's fairy tales, I do believe you have a point. We just have to let Tea and the party planner know tomorrow.
The next day around 4:00 Tea changed into the dress she was going to wear to the dinner at Juliette's Gourmet. This place was much less formal than their previous dinner, so she managed to find a simple black velvet sheath dress in her closet. Seto was dressed in his normal trench coat and dictating details about Ishizu's Party. "The party planner will be meeting with you tomorrow to sort out decorating ideas. I want it to look nice, but nothing boastful." Tea had a lot of things to finish before the dinner, so she was nodding as he was speaking. Kaiba then confided in her, "Tea, one of the traditions of hosting a ball is an opening dance. Seeing how I just started learning, I am extremely nervous."
Tea walked over and pecked him on the cheek. She thought it was sweet of him to disclose that fear to her. She then answered, "How about I make a routine? We can practice it for the next few weeks until the night of the ball." She then looked over to the clock and screeched, "We are going to be late!"
They scurried to the car and the driver sped off.
Yami handed some money to a woman who was going to be performing in our scheme. It would only be a few minutes before she broke things off with Kaiba. Yami sneered and said, "You will get the other half when the job is done, understand Miho?" She nodded.
Mokuba and Rini, left shortly after and were observing the restaurant closely. Seto and Tea had just been seated at the table and were patiently waiting for the business partners they were "supposed" to be meeting. They couldn't hear through the glass, but they had a perfect view of Seto and Tea's table.
About 15 minutes in, Kaiba started to get antsy. "Where are these people he grumbled?"
Tea was tapping her fingers on the table and replied, "I don't know, who are we supposed to be meeting anyway?"
Seto looked up alarmed and said, "You don't know?!"
"Of course not," Tea answered, "I didn't write it in there. I thought you did."
While, Seto started digging through his briefcase for his planner. Tea decided to go freshen up her makeup in the bathroom. He finally found the planner and looked at the handwriting. He recognized it immediately; Mokuba. He smiled, his brother was always looking out for him.
He suddenly heard a familiar voice, "Well look at you Mr. Kaiba, you haven't changed a bit since I last saw you." Kaiba looked up and saw one of his Ex-girlfriends Miho.
Although their relationship ended on a slightly sour note, he stood up politely and shook her hand. "It is a pleasure to see you Miho, how have yo…"
Miho saw the bathroom door begin to crack open and pulled Kaiba forward, forcing their lips to meet.
When Tea opened the bathroom door. Her heart stopped… 'No…Not this again.' She thought to herself as she ran out of the restaurant crying.
When Kaiba's body decided to catch up with his brain, he pushed Miho away and screamed, "What are you doing?! You may have very well destroyed any chances I had of being with Tea!"
He ran out the restaurant after Tea, but she was nowhere in sight. He turned around and found two kids standing in front of him fuming.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING BIG BROTHER?!" Mokuba screamed, "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? TEA IS THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO YOU, AND YOU THROW IT ALL AWAY FOR A TART LIKE MIHO!"
Rini had tears in her eyes, "Until you two got together, I hadn't seen Tea smile in 2 years, thanks to our mother leaving. How could you do this to her Seto?!"
Seto retorted, "I didn't do it he defended. It was…"
"OH SHUT IT SETO, WE SAW THE WHOLE THING!" Mokuba screamed before storming off dragging Rini back to the mansion.
Seto ran his fingers through his hair and hopped into the car. He had to talk with Tea.
When he arrived to Tea's apartment, he saw Mai waiting outside the door arguing with Yami.
"Mai, let me in." He demanded.
"Not a chance, Tea refuses to see anyone right now." She then noticed Kaiba's presence and continued, "Especially you! You promised you wouldn't hurt Tea, and how long did that last….hmmm…. a day! Get out of my sight."
Not wanting to make the situation worse, I answered, "As you wish." I turned around and finished, "But, for the record, I didn't kiss Miho. She threw herself on me and I had no time to react before Tea got the wrong idea. I never realized it until now, but I think I am in love with Tea. If she comes to work tomorrow, I will be elated. But if she decides she doesn't want to see me again, I will respect her decision. More than anything, I want her to be happy. Even if it means I lose her to someone else."
He got into his car, and drove around the corner. He drove back around but far enough to where Mai or Yami couldn't see him. He just wanted to make sure Yami didn't hurt anyone. Thankfully, Yami finally gave up and left.
Mai finally made it in the house and found Tea sitting with her knees pulled into her chest crying. She knelt down next to her and said, "Tea, I know I wasn't there to see what happened. But, from the words Kaiba told me, I think he is telling the truth. For the first time ever, I saw raw emotion in Kaiba's eyes. He was hurt. I don't think he did this."
Tea looked up at Mai and replied, "I know. My head is telling me to stay away, he will just hurt me again. But, my heart is telling me, I should talk it out with him. I just don't know what to do."
