Chapter 9-Rise of The Puppet Master
Fang, the most notorious pirate that ever lived, was dying. His crew, desperately trying to get him to the widow. She knew what to do.
"Hold on capt. We'll get ya fixed up to kill Foxy!" Steel said. They were rowing through a swamp. The widow lived awfully deep in the swamp. Only they knew where it was.
"That witch has some sort of healing thing she uses." Sparky explained.
"I've known her longer than anyone else." Sparky continued. Even he knew her longer than Fang.
"Just a bit further." Sparky said. Fang was looking up. If he was to die, he would die knowing that he killed 2 of Foxy's friends. 'That should have shattered him' Fang thought.
"Just up ahead, I see it." Wolfy said.
"Thats it." Sparky said. A small, but quite large one, cabin. It was made all out of spruce.
"Spark-" Fang tried to muster up a word. Sparky leaned closer to his dying captain.
"Hold on just a little bit more capt." Sparky said. Sparky and Fang were close friends. Sparky was to take Fang's place if anything happened to Fang. Slowly they kept rowing, now they were at the steps to the inside of the cabin. Then, the widow stepped out. She scanned the look on Sparky's face. She knew what to do.
"Bring him in." the widow said. They carefully picked up Fang and carried him inside. She showed them where to put him. Then she told them to leave the room. She shut the door behind them. They waited patiently.
"If Fang dies in there, you take his place Spark." Steel said.
"And if he does, once you become captain, you'll need a new crew." said Wolfy.
"He's going to fine." Sparky insisted.
Fang was being questioned by the widow. He didn't mind, but he found it annoying. He finally asked her why.
"It's my right." the widow said. Fang didn't accept that answer.
"Hold still now, this might hurt a bit." She put a patch with some sort of oil on in onto the bullet wound. It stung for a few moments, then died down. Fang suddenly felt better for some strange reason.
"I, I feel-"
"I still have to heal that wound. That only took away the pain for the next part." The widow interrupted.
"What?" Fang asked. He felt confused.
"Just, that wound will heal after I put this on it." She said. Fang looked confused. Then, without warning, something knocked him out.
They sat there waiting for the door to open.
"Spark, how'd ja meet this hag?" Wolfy asked.
"Long story. Funny thing is, I don't even know her name." Sparky said.
"What? I thought you sad you knew her for over 10 years?" Steel questioned.
"I do, just she never told me her name." Sparky said annoyed. They heard a noise. The door opened. They all got up.
"Hold now, he's not up and at em yet." The widow said holding up her hand.
"That potion knocked him out cold. But don't worry, it's supposed to do that." she said. Wolfy then asked her a question.
"What's your name?" Wolfy asked. She eyed him down. Wolfy lowered his ears.
"My name is not to be known by anyone except Sparky." she said. Then Sparky looked at her confused.
"You never told me your name." Sparky protested.
"I did, but when I had to fix you up, that potion knocked you out as soon as I said my name 10 years ago." The widow said.
"Really? Because I don't remember-"
"That potion also got rid of some memories you had." She said. Sparky then decided to not argue about it.
"Fang has a few more hours before that wound heals." she said.
"The potion has two outcomes. Death, or healing and life. It can succeed, or fail. It varies." she said. Shocking Sparky the most, he gasped.
"What? What do you mean fail or succeed?" Sparky questioned.
"I mean, he could live, or die."she said again.
"Look Spark, it's okay." said Steel.
"No, no it's not. I, I don't think I'm ready for being a captain." Sparky said.
"I've never, I mean I've seen him, but I don't know." Sparky said.
"Then, If you're not ready to be a captain, I have an idea. A captain." the widow said.
"Who?" Sparky asked.
"That's for the potion to decide." she said.
"Ok, but can you please tell me your name again?" Sparky asked. The widow hesitated. She took a deep breath. Then sighed.
"It's-" they heard a moaning sound. It came from the room Fang was in.
"I guess that means Fang is your captain again." She said. She got up and walked over to Fang.
"That's not fair! You didn't tell us your name." Wolfy demanded.
"That doesn't matter." she said. They heard footsteps. Fang, was walking like he used to. Like nothing ever happened.
"Aye lads, the scar is gone." Fang said proudly as he showed the wound where the bullet was, was completely healed.
"Incredible, that means Foxy is as dead as-"
"Foxy? That 'greatest pirate that ever lived' pirate?" the widow interrupted Wolfy.
"Yes why?" Fang asked. The widow held out a bottle. It had what looked like a fuse at the top, but it wasn't.
"Throw this at him, and he will be poisoned." She gave the bottle to Fang who examined it closely.
"Why?" He asked suspiciously.
"Because I'm on your side. He's getting to much attention." The widow said evilly.
"I'll use it wisely." Fang said.
"Can you do something for me?" the widow asked. Fang turned back.
"Yes?" he asked confused.
"Bring me a drop of Foxy's blood. Even if it's just a drop." she said.
"I'll do that. And, for what?" Fang asked.
"You'll see. A new weapon to form for you. The most powerful." she said. Fang then nodded. They walked out the door and got into their small boat and began rowing back to their ship. The widow had a plan to help Fang. She went back inside and got out yarn and wax. She began shaping a doll, a voodoo doll. She was going to help Fang kill Foxy. She was going to use the drop of blood to bind the doll to Foxy's soul.
"Now, I'm the puppet master." she whispered evilly.
