Rachel sat on the massive California king sized bed with her legs crossed beneath her and her bright pink Mac book resting against her knees as the brunette read the same paragraph over and over again but she just couldn't get her mind to absorb what she was reading. Online school was definitely different to her typical private school classes but this was her only option.

Six months.. It had been six months since she had showed up to her house, her home and her fathers and her had had the biggest fight Rachel could ever even think of. Horrific wasn't even a well enough word to describe what happened in the Berry home that night but Rachel still to this day couldn't shake the thoughts away. She didn't regret her decision, and honestly she never would. Yes, she regretted some things she had said to her fathers and even how she went about leaving but she knew they wouldn't understand. They only knew of Finnegan Hudson, the man who killed without a bat of an eye and didn't think twice about it. They didn't know her Finny, her baby who even though stood at six feet three inches, just melted when Rachel pecked the slightest kiss right behind his ear. She had lost her fathers, both men promising to never forgive her for choosing some random man over her fathers. But Rachel stood by her word and Santana had helped her carry whatever items her fathers would actually let her take, basically just the clothes she owned and a few other personal things. That of course wouldn't be the worst part of her night.

When she had convinced Santana to actually take her over to Finn's loft the brunette's heart broke again, and she didn't even think that was possible. She could easily hear what sounded much like a woman's moans through the door and instead of turning around and running away like she would've done just months ago, the girl had began to bang on the door like a maniac. She remembered Finn's face when he answered the door, he was livid till he looked behind her and saw everything she had to her name just in two suitcases and a book bag hanging over her shoulder.

Finn had wanted her to stay in her private school, telling her over and over again that he'd take over the tuition payments but Rachel knew that online school was her only option. She couldn't risk being seen, not the way her daddy would be looking for her. She knew he never just gave in. He swore that night that he refused to lose Rachel to the streets. She didn't really consider what she was doing per say 'being in the streets'. That was Finn's business, yeah she might've occasionally held some material in her purse for him or she might've shot a guy or two when told to by the man, but she always tried to aim not to kill, though if needed her headshot game was amazing. Life was good, they were in a good place. Rachel never found herself wanting or needing for anything and Madeleine had accepted that Rachel wasn't going anywhere anytime soon as well. Chloe had become so fond of Rachel that instead of running to her god father whenever she ran through the door the girl instantly would run to the brunette. And that's exactly what was happening right now.

"Rachie! Rachie! Rachie!" Chloe called throughout the loft and Rachel could only chuckle as she closed her laptop and slid off the bed. Finn wasn't home right now so it was surprising that Chloe and obviously Madeleine were there.

"Chloe! Chloe! Chloe!" Rachel mimicked as she stepped out of the bedroom she now shared with Finn after pulling on her slippers and silk robe. Finn had only left two hours ago so of course she still wasn't properly dressed.

"Rachie!" The tiny little brunette called, well practically yelled for a final time before she threw herself into Rachel's arms, a new dolly clutched in her hand as she hugged Rachel tightly.

"Finny home too?" Chloe asked after her intense hug with Rachel, pulling away a bit to hand Rachel her newest doll.

Rachel of course took the doll, overly admiring her beauty for Chloe's sake before she handed it back to the girl and shook her head. "No baby, Finny had to go to work.. He promised he'd be back for lunch though." She explained and chuckled when Chloe instantly began to pout. The brunette had been so wrapped up in Chloe that she hadn't noticed exactly where Madeleine was in her loft. She still felt so uncomfortable that the other woman still had keys to the place, but her boyfriend of course had insisted that she needed them just in case of an emergency.

"We go to work too?" She asked, pulling her thumb between her lips as she moved towards the kitchen, obviously that's where her mother was. Rachel stood to her full height and followed the toddler, offering the girl's mother a faint smile. They still didn't get along, actually Rachel probably hated Madeleine as much as the woman hated her but they had developed a mutual agreement over the last six months and it seemed to somewhat work, seeing as the blue eyed woman finally understood that Rachel was in this for the long haul. She had abandoned everything she knew for Finn.

The room was silent up until Rachel's phone, which just so happened to be on the island where Madeleine was cutting up for cocaine to bag individually. She saw a picture of her and Finn light the screen up and instantly smiled before reaching for her phone.

"Hey baby." She answered as she stared down at Chloe who was tugging her doll's hair a bit roughly.

"Is Madeleine there babe? She's supposed to be bagging up but I need you to come with her to the warehouse when she's done okay?" Finn spoke, his voice a bit rushed as he did so.

Rachel pulled Chloe away from the island a bit as the powder her mother was chopping off a brick began to float through the air. The girl immune to this behavior which always left her mind blown. She could never have children and do what she did, she couldn't even imagine doing what Madeleine did in all honesty. "For what?" She finally answered after pulling herself from her thoughts.

"Just come on the ride with her." He mumbled before hanging up before his girlfriend could argue with him.

The brunette huffed loudly, looking over at Madeleine before she licked her lips nervously and spoke. "That was Finn.. He wants me to ride over to the warehouse with you." She stated as the woman with a mask over her nose and mouth lifted her eyes, the piercing blue almost looking through Rachel before she just nodded and continued to do what she was doing.

"I'm just gonna take her to my room while you finish.." Rachel mumbled, picking up a fully distracted Chloe and walking throughout the loft. She carefully placed the girl on her bed before she began to look for an outfit for herself. Chloe had managed to find the TV remote and was now solely focused on flipping through the channels rapidly.

Rachel decided on a pair of jeans and cute sleeveless top, April was rather warm in New York this year and seeing as she barely went out, for the few moments that she did it was nice to enjoy the things she always kinda took for granted. She slipped on a pair of heels before checking over her hair. She caught sight of her eyes in the mirror for a second longer than usual, taking herself in really. Her earlobes were decorated with massive diamond studs Finn had insisted on getting her. A thin wrist laced in a chunky Rolex watch and the chain around her neck was better left not spoken of. Rachel only wore than one when she felt the need to. For an eighteen year old she looked good, grown almost. Finn had her well taken care of, not that Rachel couldn't have figured it out but was she really Rachel anymore? Where were her loafers? And her annoying sweaters. She would have never imagined being so gaudy in jewelry and almost snobby. She still wanted Broadway, she wanted Broadway just as much as she wanted Finn but she knew that wasn't a possibility right now. She couldn't be connected to the biggest drug lord and the show world. She dropped her eyes from her own reflection in the mirror and just walked back out of her bedroom to see Chloe fast asleep against her god father's pillow.

"Well aren't you just precious." Rachel whispered out loud to herself before she pressed a light kiss to Chloe's forehead before heading out of the room. She went into the kitchen in time to see Madeleine taking her gloves and mask off, putting the scale beneath the island before she faced Rachel.

"Where's my squirt?" She asked, putting all the bags she had just put together into her purse.

"She fell asleep.. I'll go get her and meet you down in the car?" Rachel suggested and Madeleine just nodded before pulling her Chanel aviators over her eyes and heading out of the loft. Rachel pulled on her own sunglasses before moving to scoop Chloe and her doll off the bed.

The ride to the warehouse was uncomfortable to say the least and Rachel was only thankful that the music cut the tension in the air somewhat. She hadn't really been to the warehouse but for a couple of times but she knew her way around so when Madeleine pulled in she got out of the car and walked towards the side entrance. The place was always moving, Sam leading the guys beneath him in loading the trucks of product. Ryder watching as guys bagged and wrapped bricks and Noah, who was apparently Finn's best guy there beneath Madeleine who watched as people cooked crack, managed multiple small meth labs and dabbed in the massive amounts of marijuana. She looked up to see Finn in his office, overlooking everything, though his phone was pinched between his shoulder and ear. She smiled as she watched him stare on so heavily. He had really build this. There were at least forty men working along the lower level of the warehouse and of course she heard a few cat calls as she made her way towards the stairs that lead to the upper level which was practically all Finn's office. Though when Madeleine stepped inside with Chloe still asleep against her shoulder the entire place went silent. She was obviously the head bitch here.

"Baby.." Rachel called as she finished going up the last step, Finn offering her a smile though he didn't say anything seeing as he was still deep in conversation. The man wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her really close, a hand resting on her ass as he looked down at her.

"You look really beautiful." She whispered to him, leaning up to press a soft kiss to Finn's bottom lip. The man hung the phone up and fully pressed a kiss to his girlfriend's lips before offering her a smile. "You're not too bad yourself there." He teased with a glint in his amber eyes.

"Mm, talk to me nicely baby." Rachel teased back as she ran her hand down Finn's chest before looking out over everything her man was watching over. "How much do I have to beg to get a quickie in your office? This morning only left me wanting more." Rachel whined as she looked back up to Finn. The thought of fucking Finn on his desk while all his goons worked beneath him just did things to her.

"As tempting as that sounds, pretty lady I actually needed you here for approval of a new department head.. This person would predominately be dealing with traveling to other countries and delivering between cliques." He stated as he turned to open his office door, turning Rachel's tiny frame with him to reveal the one and only Santana Lopez sitting in his office with her little blonde who she had finally won over.

"What? You're kidding right?" Rachel asked with wide eyes as she looked between her best friend and boyfriend.

"Am I really supposed to let you have all the drug trafficking fun alone, Rachel? B and I are just going to take a few trips here and there for your man." She confirmed as she looked up to Rachel and Finn. Rachel couldn't take her eyes off of Finn though, she was pissed that he'd let her best friend do this, yes, Santana probably came to Finn and not the other way around but wasn't it enough that she was in this lifestyle for him? Did this world really have to suck up her best friend into it as well? But the brunette only offered a tight smile.

"Of course, San." Was all Rachel stated, her grip on Finn loosening a bit. So much for that fucking quickie, she was drier than a desert now. She sat behind Finn's desk as the man began to get into business talk with Santana throwing numbers around for the Latina's pay and Rachel's stomach could only continue to turn.

"Babe, roll up." Finn interjected to her in between talking to Santana. Rachel held back an eye roll and opened his desk drawer to pull out his personal weed stash and a wrap. She got to quick work, now so used to doing this it was insane and within a few minutes she lit the blunt she had just rolled for her man before passing it. It nearly reached Finn's hand before the massively loud noise that practically shook the warehouse made her drop it straight to the ground and a hand came over her chest quickly.

Finn instantly turned to face the door, his gun already cocked in his hand as he heard another massive thump. He opened the door to see Madeleine running up the stairs to the office with a crying Chloe in her arms, all the guys on the floor moving around quickly but it was so obvious what was happening right now. The flashing lights that radiated through the windows were sign enough.

"Finn, they have us completely surrounded. We're fucked." The woman's blue eyes were glistened with tears and Chloe herself couldn't stop crying.

"Stop, give me her and leave right now. Go down through the basement, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm going to have someone waiting for you." Was all he could say to her as he took Chloe from her arms, knowing the girl couldn't get out that way because of the fumes from the drugs being made down there.

The shots started to ring throughout the warehouse and Finn knew they were already inside. He looked to see his guys of course beginning to shoot back, cops falling here and there as well as a few of his men. "Take Rachel with you and her friends with you." He yelled now at a frozen in place Madeleine.

Rachel knew she couldn't start crying right now though all her instincts told her to do so. Finn seemed so calm it was insane. She stood and pushed Madeleine as Finn handed her a gun, Madeleine finally pulling her own out as she looked out of the office door to see a full blown gun fight. Rachel was next to peek out before she followed Quinn as quickly as she could down the stairs. After Santana and Brittany left out behind his girlfriend, Finn ran his hands through Chloe's hair softly.

"Baby, it's going to be really really loud but I promise Finny is going to protect you no matter what." He pressed Chloe's face against his chest and wrapped an arm tightly around her as he followed out behind the girls who were now running towards the basement door, clear of anything. He looked up just in time to see him. Of course this was his operation. Officer Berry just wouldn't give up. He offered the man a smile, knowing he had obviously seen Finn back before the man jetted down the stairs. He and Chloe could only go out the side exit at this point but he knew they were on that side, how he was going to manage this he didn't know but he knew he'd die trying. The man let his own shots go off to anyone in his way as he ran towards the side exit, kicking it open to reveal a massive amount of officers outside. He didn't seize fire and instead of standing like they had expected him to the man ran straight towards his car, he pressed the button to start the car just as his windows began to get shattered by bullets. He himself sped off, hoping and praying that Rachel, Madeleine, Santana and Brittany had gotten out as Chloe continued to cry in his lap.

"Shhh, it's okay, Chloe. We're okay. How about we go to Nana's house?" He asked as he rubbed her back, suddenly noticing the sting coming from his side. He looked to see that a bullet had grazed Chloe's hand but had definitely lodged itself into Finn's side.

"Fuck." He sped down the street as he still heard the sirens behind them, not bothering to stop for any traffic signs as he drove past his loft to see it surrounded in cop cars as well. Rachel's father had really tried to go out for blood, his blood in specific. He could only imagine what would've happened to Rachel if she had been home alone. He knew his mother's house wasn't the safest place to go right now but he couldn't think of anywhere else to go right now.

The drive seemed to be quicker than normal and his entire body relaxed when he saw not a single cop car in sight. He got out as quickly as he could with Chloe before he went straight into his mother's house.

"Mom! Mom! Have you heard from Rachel or Madeleine?" He yelled out throughout the house only to have Rachel run out of the living room right into the foyer.

"Did you see him too?" She asked quietly as she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend and Chloe. Finn only nodded before he heard Rachel's gasp.

"I know but don't scare her.. Take her and have my mom go look at her hand, I'm sure it's nothing but I'd rather be safe than sorry." Finn said as he let go of Chloe, the little girl finally calming down as Rachel took her into the next room with her mother and Finn's mother. The news was on and the only thing flashing across the screen was Finn's name with video of the warehouse. This was now national news. He took his shirt off and looked to his side to see it still gushing out. He was starting to feel dizzy but he knew he didn't have this much time. He pressed his shirt against the open wound before Rachel came back into the room, wrapping her shaking arms around his waist as she helped him move into the guest bathroom before completely undressing him. She turned the water on and helped him sit at the bottom, not caring that her entire outfit was drenched as she kept applying pressure to the wound. What the hell were they going to do now? There was no way in hell they could stay at Burt and Carole's for too long.

"I love you." Finn whispered as Rachel delicately began to clean the gun shot wound and she looked back up to the man before nodding.

"I love you too…" She always meant it when she said it, this man was her man. Her emotions still hadn't really caught up with her yet and the fact of the events that just happened hadn't really processed in her mind either.

"Finny.. What are we going to do?" She asked, finally letting out a sob as she rested her head against Finn's shoulders, her tiny frame shaking from the sobs as Finn, for the first time in a long time had no answer for her. He had just lost everything, all his material, every dollar in that warehouse and even his home, where he laid his head down with his girl every single night. His heart broke at the fact that he couldn't give Rachel an answer.

"I'm so scared, Finny."

I'm so sorry. Forgive me. But everyone should thank the person who reminded me to honor the tether and remember that drummer. Please keep stalking, don't stop Fincheling.
