Clay watched as his step son fought to pull himself together and sighed. After sharing a look with his wife he walked over and wrapped an arm around Jax's shoulder pulling him into his side. "It's alright to cry, Jax. We all know that you are a tough strong man but even the toughest, strongest man needs to cry every once in a while. You are NOT going to do Marissa any good if you hold it all in, son. I'm not going to lie and say that crying will make it better because more than likely it won't but at least you'll be able to put on a strong front for Marissa without having to worry about breaking down in front of her. I don't know what this girl is to you, son, but if her being hurt affects you this badly then you need to put a crow on her and not let her leave your side ever again. One thing living this life has taught me is that the love of a good woman makes a man like us stronger instead of softer because we will do everything and anything in our power to make sure that none of the bad shit that we see lands at their feet. Our life isn't always easy and it takes a strong woman to be able to stick beside us but from what Charity has told us about her best friend Marissa she is a tough bitch so she'll make it in our life just fine. We'll find out who did this to her and her raped her and when we do we'll make them pay and make them wish that they were never born. Nobody gets away with hurting someone we love and if you love Marissa like I think you do then that means we love her as well even if we don't know her. Do you understand, son?"

Jax nodded and turned around and buried his head in Clay's chest as he let his tears fall. He was aware of his mom, Opie, Tara, and even Tig coming over and patting him on the back but he ignored them as he cried out his pain and his anger. Once he was done crying he stepped away from Clay with a sheepish smile on his face. "Thank you, Clay."

Clay shook his head. "You are my son in every way that counts, Jax. I'm going to do what I think is best as far as you're concerned and you crying right now is what was best. You needed an outlet and I gave you one. Now why don't you tell us about Marissa?"

Jax sighed and rubbed a hand down his face. "I'm not sure where to even start. Marissa is, always has been, and always will be the woman that I love. I fell for her when I met her for the first time even though I didn't realize that it was love I was feeling until the first time we got together. Everything about her draws me to her. She doesn't take shit from anyone and she always spoke what was on her mind. She wasn't afraid to tell me off if I did or said something that she didn't agree with. She wasn't afraid to lay into me if I did something she felt was wrong. She is a strong bitch and she doesn't take orders well at all. I told her the last time I saw her about eighteen months ago when she was on a job that she needed to stop taking the dangerous jobs. I told her that even if she was no longer with me that if she needed me I would be there to help her. It is almost as if she doesn't care about her life. She lives to help others but yet she didn't want to be a doctor like Tara and she didn't want to work in law enforcement because of the rules they had. She wanted to be able to help others and do what needed doing even if it meant that she was on the other side of the law. When I saw her eighteen months ago she was on a job up in Tacoma for someone who wanted something done about a man who kept trying to lure little kids to go away with him. The sad thing is it was Lorca who brought her into the job because the SAMTAC charter couldn't do anything about it because the police were watching them closely. She got the man in the end but he ending up kicking the shit out of her before she could kill him. She ended up with two cracked ribs and one hell of a concussion from what Lorca told me. That is when I went to see her at the hospital there and told her she needed to knock off the dangerous jobs because one of these times she was going to end up hurt so badly or dead. Marissa is head strong and does what she wants regardless of the cost. She isn't one to give in unless she is presented with enough information to make an informed choice and if she is given enough good reasons she'll do what she is told."

Tara gave a watery chuckle. "She was always standing up to dad when he would get into one of his moods. Marissa mainly uses her mom's last name for her own because in the end she hated our father. She may have been younger than me but she would always put herself in between dad and I when he was in one of his rages. She didn't care about the damage he did to her but she did care about the damage he did to me. Marissa is only my half sister and she is related to a Son as well but I'm not sure she ever told him so it isn't my place to say who the Son is. I do however have his number and will be calling him to let him know that Marissa is in the hospital. If he shows up then you guys will figure out who her half brother is but do NOT tell him unless he brings it up. Marissa and I are not as close as we use to be but we have been working to get back to that place again. The only thing that matters right now is finding out who did this to Marissa and helping her through this. When she comes out of the coma everyone's hands will be full in getting her to stay put. The reason I say when she comes out and not if is because she is too damn stubborn not to come out of the coma she is in right now. She'll be out for blood once she is even a little bit healed because she won't just sit back and let someone else look for the son of a bitch that did this to her. She'll want to end his life herself and she'll want to do it slowly."

At that Tig's and Happy's eyes widened and then widened even further when Jax said "I'll be more than happy to let her at the son of a bitch once we find him but only if she lets me help her. There is no way in hell she is doing it on her own."

Clay nodded. "Whatever you need, Jax, you will have. From the sounds of it we're all going to be happy to meet Marissa."

Charity chuckled. "You all may be happy to meet her but I'm not so sure she'll be happy to meet you all. She has done everything she can think of not to come to TM when I invite her but at least now I know why. Jax, the only thing I can say is that I hope to God you are ready to grovel because if you want to be in Marissa's life you are going to have to do a lot of groveling and making it up to her. If Marissa feels that she has been betrayed in some way, shape, or form she will make a man or woman's life hell until she feels that they have made it up to her in spades."

Jax snorted. "I know, Charity. I hope they get her out of recovery soon. I want to go back in and sit with her."

Tara smiled softly at Jax. "Bruce will come and let us know when they move her, Jax. I'm going to ask one of the nurses to have some coffee sent up for us all. I do believe that we can all use a cup or two."

Everyone nodded and then just stood around as they waited for news on Marissa. All of them had thoughts running through their heads on what they could do to help both Marissa and Jax to get through this.
