I know, I haven't been in this fandom in a long ass time, and I actually realize I miss it sooo damn much. Anyways, I found a whole set of drabbles in the crevices of my memory space to post into this collection! Maybe I'll become super inspired afterwards and post up a whole story/one-shot too.

Do enjoy!

"Neh neh," Kiko said, leaning closer across the diner table to her fellow otaku Yin. "Did you finish the last volume of Yakuza Heart?"

Yin, as usual, didn't say a word. However, without taking her pale eyes off the edge of the table, the silver-haired girl reached into her bag by her seat and withdrew a manga book. She slowly handed it back to her pink-pigtailed friend, who snatched it up and flipped it over to the first page once she got it.

"I was waiting for this the entire week!" Kiko exclaimed, reading so intensely that her nose was shoved up into the spine of the book. "I have been reading fanfiction to keep myself together—how could you take so long to read it?!"

Yin simply watched Kiko consume the media. Unlike Kiko's eyes, which raced top to bottom, left to right across to scan through every single page, Yin's eyes stayed abnormally still, small plaster smile on her face. Yin was simply glad to have a friend, one that lived in a completely different world than her.

She wondered what would happen if she hadn't become a doll, where she would be and what kind of a life she would lead. She wondered, but she couldn't think much on it—there wasn't anything to draw from in her erased mind. She couldn't recall too many memories from her human existence.

"Fanfiction," Yin repeated to herself.

"Yes, Yin," Kiko affirmed. "Have you not heard of it?"

Yin shook her head.

Kiko's eyes peeked over the pages of her book. One of her eyebrows arched. "Oh really? You should check it out." She paused before adding, "You should check out the 'Darker than Black' fandom."

Yin nodded her head.

When she went home, she did just that. The moment Hei and Mao stepped out of their apartment to take care of something, she stood up straight from the sofa she was sitting on and gracefully strolled to the desktop. She got herself onto a browser and typed in precisely what Kiko had told her to type in.

The site was relatively minimalistic. It seemed to be organized by titles and captions, she observed.

Then something caught her eyes.

HeixYin

Her head tilted to the side, questioning. Was that what she thought it was?

She clicked on the story associated with the phrase, then read through some of the first few paragraphs.

"Yin," Hei repeated, softly, cupping her head in his sturdy hands. His dark blue irises stared into her pale purple eyes and for a moment, she could see a sky full of stars in his nightly gaze. For a brief moment, Hei's eyes glanced down at her lips, and she felt her frosted heart beat for a second.

Yin felt her own heart skip a beat, something she didn't think her time-stilled heart was still able to do. She put a hand over her chest. Did this flutter stir her?

She felt heat rise to her face, warming her cheekbones.

She closed her eyes and felt herself quiver as she exhaled. She could feel him lean forward, his lips slowly brushing over—

Hei and Mao walked back into the apartment. With a jolt, she closed the tab and stared blankly at the empty screen.

"Geez, Yin, what are you doing?" Mao said, looking over her shoulder at the empty screen. "What's so entertaining about a blank screen?"

Yin kept herself quiet, as she usually presented. It wasn't ever difficult for her to do so, but there was just one thing that might have given her away.

And she knew that Hei noticed.

As he took a long drink of water from a glass, he looked over at her, still looking at the blank computer screen, and then raised a single eyebrow.

It was the subtlest of expressions, but it told her that even he noticed her cheeks' light flush.

As a disclaimer, Yakuza Heart is a fake manga I generated. If it happens to be that there actually is a manga titled that, it is purely coincidence. And you should probably let me know because I'd be down to check it out, haha!

Yin's a shipper. :3
