AUTHOR'S NOTE: fROM THIS DAY ON, i AM GOING TO WRITE ABOUT SHIN-CHAN AND SHIN-CHAN ONLY SIDESTORY. I was thinking that it's kinda not fair to just leave Nana and never complete my side of Shin-chan's story. SO I will try to write a chapter about him from time to time. PS: maybe as often as possible? but also maybe as rare as a gem!
At that moment, while I am eating my ramen soup at the restaurant, I hear some chitter-chatter about some kind of sign at a nearby store.
"Did you see those sparkling eyes that were drawn? It's so childish." One said.
"Yeah! Who would've drawn that? And why at Spring's department store." The other one added. I am about to finish my food when I hear:
"And the person who drew them is Nana. Apparently, she's looking for a base guitarist." That's when I choke.
"Yo son! You gotta eat slowly… don't ruin the whole restaurant with your choking behavior." The manager/cooker of the restaurant cautions me. I finally stop choking and give a pleasant smile at him for showing that he shouldn't be worrying about me.
In the afternoon, I go to the store named "Spring's department store" and check out the sign. It is really cliché with those sparkling eyes. I hear someone from the back of me, giggling while passing by. I take a closer look and read that those "sparkling eyes" gals need a bass guitarist to form a new rock band. I look in the window and see that the time is 4 o'clock. I keep a mental note and run back to Ryoko's apartment.
Once I'm there. I see Ryoko at the dining table, smoking.
"Heyy!" as I walk to her. Ryoko's head is turned away from me. So I thought that it would be nice to flatter her by hugging her from the back. Right when I do that, she turns around and sweetly asks:
"Did you have fun outside?" I inhale her perfume as if it's a mechanism for control. I reply back while holding up my baggage: "Yes. I went to my father's estate building to get some extra clothing." Ryoko brushes off the baggage and jumps at me while saying:
"You, sweet, sweet little boy. Be careful for what you wish for." I look at her eyes and see that she's bloodshot and tries to soothe her at ease. Ryoko later falls asleep and I get her to her bed. By this time, it's already 6 o'clock and I go to Ryoko's laptop for some information about Nana and those two "sparkling eyed" gals.
After understanding, that Ren was that black haired chick's girlfriend and they had a band in Osaka, he went to Tokyo to play with Trapnest. I listen to some of their songs and his old songs and fall into a dream.
A dream where Shin-chan was only 7 years old, he was living with his grandmother and his uncle. His uncle was a guitarist and always taught Shinichi how to play guitar. Whenever Shinichi played, his eyes would sparkle and overtime developed a talent for it. At that same time, he went to one of Ren's concerts. It was a solo rock'N roll one and that really inspired Shin-chan to play the guitar. After 2 years, his uncle planned Shinichi to perform on stage with his uncle at a concert. The evening of the concert, Shin-chan's uncle speed to the concert and got into an accident and died. Shinichi, at the age of 9 saw what was happening on the sideline of the accident. Right that moment, he swore to himself to never ever touch a guitar ever again.
1 in the morning, I abruptly wake up, feeling my head oozy. I took another pill from a Ziploc bag that Ryoko set aside for me. What was that? A dream? A memory comeback? I sigh and spot a guitar in the room where Ryoko's still sleeping. I observe the strings and the guitar itself without touching it. There is a tag written Yinka Makoto. I am about to touch it when I hear Ryoko grumbling about something.
"Makoto, Makoto! Come to mommy." I look back at the guitar, trying to see if it will lead me to my questionable answer. I dismiss the thought and walk to the other bedside and fall asleep again.
