Thank you guys so much for all the encouraging messages! They really keep me going! Also sorry for my in and out absences. Please remember this is a story based off of a roleplay, and I don't always have material to post, so please don't be mad if it take a little longer. Love you guys!

He seemed to react uncomfortably at the question, awkwardly shifting in his position as if trying to look for a better way to lay down. "Ah, yeah, a couple. Those didn't end well, tho. I don't talk 'bout em much."

"Were they just as crazy and dangerous as you?" She asked, settling on the history channel and laid the remote next to her.

"In a way, or more so..." He stopped for a second, looking for the right way to describe them without being too specific. "They had a purpose, if that makes any sense. That made them a thousand times more dangerous than me."

" A purpose?" She dug deeper, looking at him.

He shrugged. "They had a reason to be in the business. In a way I do, too, but it's mostly because I'm good at it. They both had their own agendas, objectives... Things of that nature."

"You said it didn't end well." She was still curious, turning her position completely to face him comfortably. "How so?"

He smirked, clearly resigned to telling the girl everything that had happened to him. "You really don't know boundaries, do you? Both relationships were bound to shit out at some point. The girls had people they needed, future plans - and I wasn't in those plans. Neither ended nicely. I don't like to think about it."

She nodded slightly, understanding that he didn't want to talk about it. She looked at him, before returning back to her previous spot on the bed. Did he consider her girlfriend material? Was she girlfriend material in general? She wondered. She didn't really have any major future plans yet. All she had to do was get her masters degree at the end of the year, and she would be good to go to pretty much do what she wants. And she wasn't planning on leaving Jeff anytime soon. Would considering him this way ruin their friendship?

He briefly glanced at her. For one, he was glad she had stopped bombarding him with questions about his past relationships, but this made him curious. What had gotten into her?

"What about you? Any guys in your life?"

She was snapped out of her thoughts by his question. "…Well, once and a while guys would ask me out on dates during high school. I would go on the date, but usually never called back… there was always something that annoyed me about them." She said, not seeming shy about the topic. "There was this one guy I actually liked, who took me to my junior prom. I found out later he had intercourse with another girl in the bathroom during it… Well, it at least explained why I was standing alone for about thirty minutes in the dancehall." She chuckled. It didn't seem to bother her, ether because she got over it or thought she was above such stupidity in the first place. "So I just entirely gave up at some point."

He scratched the back of his head. "Well, he sounds like a jackass. Looks like neither of us have had much luck when it comes to finding people, huh?"

Well, it was now or never. She looked over at him, her eyes wondering down and up. "Do you think I'm attractive?" She asked, as if they were talking about something a simple as the weather.

He blankly stared at her for a second, seriously contemplating the question, before responding with a simple. "Yeah, of course you are" as if it were the simplest thing in the world.

She was surprised he said it so easily. "In a girlfriend type of way?" she continued pushing.

He was starting to get slightly weirded out by her questions, thinking he may see where she was going, but still kept answering in a simple, honest way. "Yeah, sure, I would date someone that looks like you."

"And as a person?" She asked, scooting a bit closer and sat on her knees, curious of what he had to say, folding her hands on her lap.

He stared at her for a second, trying to figure out her expression. "I like you as a person, duh. I haven't been hanging around you all this time for shits and giggles. What's with all the questions? What got into you?"

Ignoring his prior questions, she looked at him seriously. "Would you date me?" she asked, eye narrowing. "Be serious. No bullshit."

He thought about it for a second, trying to figure out exactly what to say. "Well, if dating me wouldn't probably get you killed, then yeah, sure."

She looked at him for a few more seconds, as if trying to find out if he was lying or not. She then leaning back in her original position, watching the TV, saying nothing else.

He looked back at her for a couple of seconds, trying to figure out what had happened, exactly. "So... Where did all of that come from?"

She thought about it for a moment, still staring at the TV. "...I've noticed that I like you more than I probably should..." She said, looking down at her lap. "I started figuring it out when you left..."

He arched an eyebrow, intrigued by her line of thought. "More than you should?"

She chuckled. "Well, you are a serial killer. Not really someone I could introduce to my parents. Not to mention, I probably shouldn't like you at all..." She fumbled with the edge of her sweater. "Not that it changes the way I feel around you in any way."

He rubbed his temples, trying to keep his head clear. If she was saying what he thought she was saying, this changed everything. And it wasn't exactly for the best. "Be up-front, Nelly. What are you saying?"

She waited a moment before taking a deep breath. The harshest thing that could happen to her was rejection, right? "...I think I love you." she was afraid to look at him.

He stopped for a moment. So that was it. This is where they were going.

"Are you sure this is how you feel, Nelly?" He had to ask "I'm not a pleasant person, and it's not easy to... You know, be in a relationship with me. I don't want you to get hurt."

He didn't reject her. That was a good start. "I'm sure... but I don't want to pressure you in to anything you don't want to be involved in, Jeff. I know you have enough to deal with already..."

He knew what he had to do here. He didn't really like this part - too complicated for his taste, but still, someone had to make the first move.

He turned to face her, leaning forward and planting a soft kiss on her lips.

Nelly instantly froze, staring at Jeff, surprisingly not jerking away on her part. This really took her by surprise. What should she do? She should do something, right? None of her studies, or any books could have prepared her for this moment. And god, she felt like an idiot.

It was clearly nerve wrecking. But it wasn't like she didn't want, or at least look forward to this, right?

He felt her breathing and heartbeat quicken, followed by the girl completely, freezing, and couldn't help but to smile a bit. She was clearly not terribly experienced in this, which was actually kind of endearing. Still, he decided not to push her too far and instead pulled away, deciding to give her some time to catch her breath.

"How does that sound for you?"

She stared at him for a couple of seconds, trying to process everything at once. She was blushing quite a bit, having a hard time forming words. "...I...uh.. s-sounds good.."

She could have really kicked herself in the ass from noticing how retarded she sounded. She looked away, brushing her hair behind her ear before sliding off of the bed. "I.. um.. I'm going to take.. ah.. a shower!" She walked over to the bathroom, nearly tripping over her own feet, closing the door behind her.

... Well, that either was a really good sign or a really bad sign.

He didn't immediately follow behind her, instead waiting a couple of seconds to clear out his head before, stepping off the bed and knocking on the bathroom door. "Hey, uh, are you alright there?"

She leaned over the sink, staring at herself in the mirror for a couple of seconds, blood still pulsing thickly in her face. Processing all of this new and foreign information wasn't easy. She must have seemed completely pathetic. She should have prepared, and not just sit there like an idiot. Did he get the wrong idea?

She flinched when she heard his voice, her eyes wandering to the door. "..I-I'm okay!"

"Hey, I didn't mean to be too aggressive or anything" He crossed his arms over his chest "I know you're not comfortable with me touching your and all that, I just thought we were past those times."

There was a long moment of silence, before she opened the door, looking down, as if trying to avoid being judged. "...We are past it… well, mostly… I'm just trying hard not to make you think otherwise." She said, leaning on to the door frame. "I just feel like an idiot with... um…this kind of stuff... please don't take it the wrong way." She wasn't use to not knowing exactly what she was doing. She was always in her comfort zone, and usually more skilled than others. But this… this was completely different.

He smiled warmly down at her. "Don't sweat it. I guess I was a bit sudden with the kiss and all, but I just wanna make sure this is really what you want to do. And it's pretty damn confusing when you run off right after I try to reciprocate your feelings."

"...I...I just didn't want to say anything stupid.." She said, looking up at him finally. "...I tend to avoid things I don't completely understand... in order to not seem stupid..." She chuckled. "Guess it backfired."

"Hey, what's so hard to understand about this?" He asked, putting one arm around her "You and me, getting through life together. This is what you wanted, right? This is good, isn't it?"

She thought about it, and then smiled slightly. "You're right..." she hesitated a bit, but then hugged him around his ribcage, watching out carefully not to get intact with the stitches. Wait, were they still okay? It's been a couple of weeks after all. It should have healed by now.

He hugged her back, holding her tightly against his chest. "So, does this change our plans? Are you still okay with crashing with my friends until we get a better place to stay?"

She nodded. It was all going to be fine, she just had to chill out. This whole love thing wasn't rocket since after all, right?

"Thanks..."

He patter her in the back, lightening his grip on her a bit so she could pull away if she wished. "Don't thank me. We're in this together now. It's only natural that I try to make you happy."
