Main Plot Part 11- Rapunzel ran as fast as she could, tripping and stumbling on every stick and stone. Her hair was getting yanked out by tree branches and shrubs. But nothing hurt more than Jack telling her that he cheated on her. She understood that Jack was a player, and a flirt, and charming, and wonderful, but not once, not EVER had she considered Jack to be a cheater. All at once, through her tears and stinging eyes, Rapunzel took a nose dive to the ground after getting her ankle twisted in a small snake hole on the ground. She felt a twist, heard a crack, and took a thud to the ground, her ankle in burning pain yet her heart was hurting more than her now broken ankle. As she hit the ground the side of her face was deeply cut by a rock.

Merida had finally caught up to her best friend after she took the tumble. Rapunzel had sat herself against a tree, screaming and crying from the news instead of her injuries. Merida sat next to Rapunzel, holding her in her arms, stroking her long blonde hair. It was all torn apart, filled with sticks and leafs, and stuck in gnarls. There was no way they were going to brush that out.

"Merida!" Rapunzel screamed.

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I just wanted to keep you safe," Merida cried into Rapunzel's dirt covered face.

"Merida. Do you-" Sob, "remember when you had sex with Hans and he," Cry, "left you the next day because he got what he wanted?"

Merida looked up. "Ya, how could I forget," She answered, wiping the streams off her face.

"Jack did the same with me!" She yelled. "I had sex with him just hours before he decided to tell me."

"Shut up! Rapunzel, just shut up!" Merida cried. "Don't you dare say that Jack didn't love you! I saw how he looked at you! I saw the look in his eye when you weren't looking! He planned this trip for you to try and save you! He loved you so much, Rapunzel!"

"If he really loved me, then why did he cheat on me?!" Rapunzel screamed into her palms while sobbing her life away.

Back at the car, Hiccup and Jack were leaning against the car looking at the sky. The girls must not have been too far into the woods because they could hear every wail or scream Rapunzel would let out. Every time Jack out hear her voice in pain, he couldn't help but feel like he was about to throw up. He knew that he messed up this time. He knew it in his head and he knew it in his gut.

"What are we going to do now?" Hiccup looked over at Jack.

"I have no idea." Jack didn't even move his head to look at Hiccup.

"What are you going to do?"

Jack looked down at the ground, then at Hiccup. He thought the situation over in his head. Looking at every possibility. Thinking of every outcome. "Man, I- I don't know. What I do know is that I'm going to get her to fall back in love with me. I don't know how, but I know I have to do it. I can't live a life without her."

"Really? Because I think you showed all of us that you could live a perfect life with Aurora." Hiccup wanted to hate Jack with every bone in his body, but he couldn't make himself just even a bit more than upset with Jack. "Here's my problem. Why didn't you just do the mature thing and talk to her? You love her. You miss her. You want to spend the rest of your life with her. So if you can't even just talk to her about a simple thing then does that mean that you aren't fit or responsible enough to marry her?"

"This is so easy for you to say. You know what you want and there's nothing to distract you from that. You are so naturally perfect for Merida, but I have to try so hard to make Rapunzel approve of me, that sometimes I forget why I do it. Like, I just want to make her happy, but at the same time I'm trying to be a perfect boyfriend, and try to focus more on her, and to stop flirting with other girls. I just want her to love me. I think I slept with Aurora because I just wanted to be enough for someone. I will never be enough for Rapunzel. I can never hold enough adventure for her. But Aurora. She's so stupid and shallow that I don't even have to try, and for some reason that makes me feel better in the moment, but when I come to realize what I did, it makes me want to jump in front of a train."

"I wish you just told her that first, Jack. Rapunzel really loves you, flaws and all. Every mistake, every mess up," Hiccup started pacing in front of the car, "she just falls for that stuff. That's what love is, ya get it?"

Flashback Part 10- "DON'T TOUCH ME, JACK! LET ME GO!" Rapunzel screamed as she yanked her arm away from him. It was Jack's Junior year in high school and of course Rapunzel was furious when he was taking Aurora to Junior Prom. As a Sophomore, Rapunzel was not allowed to go to prom, even as a date.

"YOU COULD HAVE BROUGHT ANYONE, AND YOU CHOSE AURORA?!" She screamed, heading for her bike.

Jack had brought her to the park for a night picnic, but since her mother doesn't know she was dating Jack, Mother Gothel only thinks that Rapunzel rode her bike over to Merida's house.

"It's not like that! I promise! If I could bring you, there is no doubt that I would! I just promised Aurora that-"

"YOU PROMISED HER?! WHAT ABOUT ME!? YOUR GIRLFRIEND! WHO YOU PROMISE TO STAY TRUE TO!" Rapunzel was shouting and getting real close to Jack that it almost scared him. Her fists were clenched and every step she took meant something.

"I honestly don't get what you're so worked up about. You let me hang out with other girls all the time, why is Aurora different?" Jack tried to stroke her cheek, but Rapunzel grabbed his wrist hard before he could even touch her.

"MAYBE BECAUSE SHE ISN'T LIKE OTHER GIRLS! SHE'S PRETTY! AND PERFECT! AND BEAUTIFUL! AND IS IN LOVE WITH YOU! SHE'S EVERYTHING I'M NOT, JACK! I DON'T WANT YOU TO GO WITH A GIRL WHO IS EXCEPTIONALLY BETTER THAN ME!" Her grip kept getting tighter and tighter.

"Rapunzel! Enough! Stop saying that Aurora is better than you! Who cares if she's pretty? That's not what I want. I want you. Quirky, smart, beautiful you. Everything is going to be alright. Okay?" His face got soft and almost warm towards her.

Rapunzel looked away, unable to hold his gaze. "I will never be able to tell if things will be okay." She let go of Jack and hopped on her bike, starting to peddle away.

"Whoa! Wait!" Jack walked right in front of her bike, grabbing the handle bars of her bike making it unable for Rapunzel to leave yet. "What do you want from me! What can i do to make this better?"

"I don't know! I just-" She shut her eyes and scrambled her hands in her hair (which was neatly packed into her empty backpack that helps her carry her hair.) "I just want to know that you don't like her better than me, and that you love me, and that I'm beautiful, and that I'm good enough, and that-"

Jack reached over and kissed her mid-sentence. "You will always be good enough for me."
