Odd lil fic part owwie and a half: Don't Mess with Dr. Quest

"Benton, I have had my fill of government conferences," Race Bannon declared as he
walked Dr. Quest through the main lobby of the hotel they were staying in.

"Race, there's a secret to all of that – the patience of a saint and a silver
tongue. I-"

Suddenly, a young man in a white t-shirt and blue jeans ran past them in the
lobby, yelling incoherently.

It didn't seem to faze Dr. Quest one bit, however Race couldn't miss the fact
that the man seemed to be bright green and was clutching at his head.

Knowing the cause and who caused it, Race turned to Dr. Quest and glared at him.
"You had to arm it, didn't you?"

"Race, we drove to this conference. I would like
for my car to be in one piece at the end of it."

Race chuckled slightly at Dr. Quest's simplistic reasoning. "But a car security
system that injects them with a concoction that turns them bright green and
gives them a headache if they touch the door handle?"

"What's wrong with that, Race? It'll wear off in twenty-four hours – plenty of
time for a criminal to reevaluate his options or turn himself into the police."

"It's not exactly subtle."

Dr. Quest scoffed at his friend. "Subtle? You have little room to talk. Embedding tasers into the door handles of your car – it
took me a week to stop twitching after you forgot to disarm your car alarm when I had to borrow your car."

Race fought back the urge to laugh again as he still tried to argue his case. "Well it's simpler – you go out, handcuff the potential crook, and call the
cops. They'll still regret what they've done, and justice will be served."

Dr. Quest shook his head. "Well, forgive me if I am thinking a little outside of the box, as it were. Remember the new car I ordered that got delivered to the
compound last week? I already put in a new alarm system into it. Let's just say that it will still be needle driven, but the injection would a mixture of a
truth serum and a little something that would cause a burning itch in certain – sensitive places."

Wincing, Race looked at him with a new respect. "Remind me never to borrow your car."
