Epilogue: Happily Ever After

It had been four years since Jared had found me in Phoenix. Four years of dating and laughter and bliss. Today I was graduating from Arizona State, and tomorrow I was getting married. I couldn't have asked for anything more. True to his word, as soon as Charlie was released from the hospital, him, Sue and Seth moved down into the suburbs. It was nice having my family around me again. I had missed my dad so much. Much to everyone's surprise, Leah had imprinted three weeks into her college experience. Mark was a nice guy, quiet and allowing her to be "Alpha Bitch" as I called her. Kim had called me as soon as she found out about the wedding, telling me how happy she was for me. I had told her to never call here again. I was done with LaPush and all that came with them.

There was one phone call, however, that surprised me and pissed me off. Leah was in class and Jared was at work when the phone rang.

"Hello, Swan/Cameron/Clearwater residence." I chirp happily into the phone, glancing at the clock and making mental notes on dinner.

"Hello, Bella." The smooth voice on the other end makes me nearly jump. It's musical and lilting, deep yet light. Edward.

"What do you want, Edward?"

"Alice told me this is the only time I'll be able to talk to you without the mutts around. You have to leave them, they will only hurt you. Come back to me. Edward! I told you not to say that!" I could hear Alice yelling at him in the background before she yanked the phone away.

"Bella, I am so sorry. He promised me he would just congratulate you on your engagement." She sighed into the phone. "I know I have no right to call you or talk to you, but I wanted you to know... Victoria is dead. We've been hunting her since we left you, and she's gone now. She had been out for revenge, but we never told you because we didn't want you to worry. I also wanted you to know that I will no longer look into your future, but will leave my cell phone number with you in case you need us. Stay with your imprint, he's the best thing that has ever happened to you. Sam told us, we came back to Forks to tell you about Victoria personally." she told me, anticipating my questions, "I am so happy for you, and for Leah. Carlisle and Esme wanted to talk to you as well, but I told them it's for the best they didn't. Rose is happier than all of us. She never hated you, she just hated you were giving up what she wanted and couldn't have for an idiot like Edward. Emmett misses you, but we have all promised to stay away. Jared and Leah will be home in five minutes, so I will let you go. I still love you, Bella. You were the best friend I ever had, and I am so sorry about what Jasper did. The family does not consider what your friends did as a breach of treaty, and will continue to abide by it. Goodbye, Bella." I couldn't get one word out before she hung up, a minute later I got a text that simply said "If you ever need me." I started on dinner as I heard Jared pull up on his bike. I smiled to myself. With Jared and Leah here, and Seth so close... I would never need the Cullens again.

-Well that's it. I know the entire story seems a bit forced and rushed, but I could not figure out what to do or where to go with it. Next story I post will be more fleshed out and thought through before I begin it. Till next time.
